I'll stay with the Gamestation job up until Christmas though, so at least I'll still have some money coming in.

Paintng wise I've done very little, again due to work, but I'm working evenings on Tuesday and Wednesday, so I plan to go to GW through out the day on those two days, and with any luck I'll be able to get the final five models done from Sarge Ironhedz' Skwad. Then all that will remain will be two trukks and the battlewagon. Which sounds easy to complete before the Christmas day, but with work going on at the minute.... Still, I should be able to hit that goal.

In other news, I'm going to be running a small Werewolf RPG game. So I need to write out stuff for that. I'm looking forward to playing a campaign of a table top RPG again. Its been too long.

I'm still thinking about running this painting contest too, but I'm strugging to think of a theme for it.

Anyone got any ideas?

He came away with a 3 month sub for his efforts.

In all fairness, I'm quite happy it went to someone who didn't have a sub already, and its even better considering I think it's his first. So lots of extra dA goodies for *cbomb13

I'm actually thinking of running another contest, but this time I think it will be something in which you have to work for. Like a model painting contest.
The only question is, how to run it?
The basic way is to just receive a load of entries by a certain date, and then myself, and maybe a friend, will pick the winner(s) and thats all good and well, but is it maybe a bit too bland? Something thats always done?

The other way that interests me, is a KO paint off type thing. Kinda like the RBS, in using the polls, but also with judging due to the possible abuse of said poll system.
With this though, I would need a set amount of people that would fit into a KO setting. I.E 8, 16, 32, 64 etc.
I'm thinking either 8 or 16. Probably 8 as it would be easier, and would be more apt in finding out whether or not it would work out or not.

So please, if you have any opinions or ideas, please comment.

So the Techno Viking is in the final it would seem. Well, its just Metal and Prime left now. I'm routing for Prime to be honest. Prime is afterall, awesome, and not all Metal, lets be truthful here, is as awesome as Prime.
Still, its good to be coming to an end to this silly little game of mine. XD It'll be good to have my poll box back.

Work is going well. I'm due to start at Gamestation next week, and those are evening shifts, which is proably going to have an even more tiring effect on me.
While its good to be back in money, all be it for two months, this has had an effect on my painting and drawing. As in, I haven't done any.

Still, I bought a Fast Attack bag today, so that I can take models with me to work, and use the Metro Shopping Centre GW between shifts. At least then I might be able to get some stuff done.

So, aye, bought me a Fast Attack bag. So looking forward to getting that. Also bought me a couple of anime related t-shirts the other day too.

Well, he's done.

Quite happy with him really. It was certainly good to use some more skills like highlighting and wet blending for once. But now, its back to the Orks, well, at least until I get bored of them again.

Still, only ten more Shoota Boyz, two trukks and a battlewagon to finish, then I will have 1000 points fully painted.

Job wise, work is going okay really. I got paid the other day, and boy was it good to actually earn my money again. Its sooo much better than benifits, thats for sure.
Also, I'm starting to lose weight again, because its all warehouse work, its being a big help. I was 91.6kg this morning. So, if I can keep it up, then I'm on track once more.

My ankle is playing up a bit again though, which is starting to worry me again. Again, I'm hoping its just a matter than it will go away. Maybe I've just been working myself too hard.

Well, it looks like I might have this Toys 'R Us job. I had a second interview today, and was offered the job a couple of hours later via phone. I have an induction tomorrow.
The only problem is, I have to supply three refs. Quite why they want three, I don't know, probably to make sure they get enough information, but when you struggle to get two, a third is somewhat hard to find.

Still, it looks like I have a job. Only 20 hours a week, but its looking like it'll all be in the morning, which means for the first couple of weeks, I should be able to go to GW to paint after work, as bascially Newcastle has two Games Workshops. Well, I say two, one is the main one in Newcastle itself, and the other is in a busy shopping centre (Metro Centre) next to where I will be working, and is really in Gateshead... so..
Eitherway, I should be able to get an hour or two of painting in most days at least, which is good.

Basically, my plan is to just blitz this job. What I mean is, all my earnings are going to be saved away so that I won't have to work or go back onto benifits during the period of Jan and Feb. I figure, as long as I have enough to pay my bills for those two months, once I hit military training, I should be fine.

So... hopefully, all should go well.

Today was the day of my surprise Toys R Us interview which I only heard about yesterday. It was a group interview, and again I think I did well enough to warrant the job, but we'll see by the end of the week. I mean, given that I've thought I've done well in the past with that Ice Cream job and Argos, it's probably unwise to get my hopes up too much.

Spent the afternoon and evening at GW Vets night though. Played two games, one against my friend Skip and his Tau in a 1.5k Annihilation/Pitched Battle. And what a cracking game it was. He kicked off really well, and by the end of turn two he was already 6-2 up.
But eventually my ladz got into combat, and did what Orks do best.
STOMP STUFF!
The game went on to turn 7 though, and my Lootas only needed to kill one firewarrior to draw the game, but with only 3 saves to make, the bastard went to ground, and saved the day, giving Skip a well deserved 11-10 win.

I'll be back in GW tomorrow to paint, but I'm unsure whether or not I should paint more shoota boyz, or change the pace a little with this little Space Marine project I want to do.

Its been a busy weekend, hense the reason I haven't really been on too much.
Friday night was a

pub meet, which was awesome, as once again

and

were both really awesome and bought me drinks. In Kandi's own words, I am a social prostitute o_o

I was out all day on both Saturday and Sunday also. So all in all, quite a busy weekend.

Model wise, I gotten to 10 out of 20 shoota boyz done for my Orks, but now I'm thinking of given that unit a small rest while I do something else. Just a small project with a space marine and a nice base really. Just something to paint well, as opposed to just a simple paint and wash. So, watch this space.

As for job hunting. I'm still at it. Still not heard owt back at all.

Grah... its just one of those days I guess. Still, soldier on.

My diet and fitness training restarts tomorrow. I'm a bit worried about it really, because I've felt over the last month or so, my fitness levels drop and part of me really doesn't want to see how bad the damage is. Still, least I haven't put all the weight back on, so its not all lost.
The other worry is my ankle. If it conks out again, then thats only going to waste more time... and even worse, I won't be able to ignore it and will have to see a doctor.

Job wise, I've heard nowt about the interviews at all, so I've pretty mich given up with those. Instead, I'm back to square one, and back to sending out applications and CVs.

In gaming news, I played a game against my mate Alan on Saturday. 1k Orks vs his Space Marines in prep for this tourney. It was Dawn of War set up and the mission itself was Capture and Control, not one of Alans favourites. He was also unfortunate with his dice rolls. He made a couple of mistakes with his wound allocations too, which allowed my orks to get into combat, especially on the last turn, which would have maybe given him a draw, but he had opted to leave a plasma gunner in play. This gunner was of course, the model that allowed a unit of orks to charge the unit, thereby wiping it out, and finishing the game.
Also, losing his Ironclad before it could really have any big impact on the game was also quite a blow to him.

I'll be back at GW most of this week I think, though mostly only for painting. I've almost gotten 5 of the 20 shoota boyz fully finished, so by the end of the week, I'm aiming for 15 out of 20 done.

Also! I've changed the general feature too.

Anyway, it seems like I haven't gotten the Argos job either. Again I was told I would hear by the end of the week (Friday) and again, I've had no phone call, or even an e-mail.
So, back to the drawing board.

On a lighter note however, I've now spent the last two days painting in my local GW, and although I haven't finished any models yet, it is good to be actually painting again, and beating that bloody bastard known as Laziness and his good mate, Mr Unmotivator. (Basically, the opposite to this bloke: [link] )

I'm back there tomorrow for a couple of 1k 40k Games, and then I plan on going back on Tuesday for all day painting and vets night.

So, I played my first games of Warhammer Fantasy today. And, I have to admit, I'm still as unimpressed as I was with it when I was 11 years old.
Well, okay, I'm a little more impressed with it, as otherwise I wouldn't have an army, but, I don't know, its just something about it that I don't overly like.

In all honesty though, I think once I get a hold of the rules a bit better, I will start to enjoy it more, especially some of the bigger 2k plus games. But for now, its still a game that fails to slap me in the face with awesomeness.

In other wargaming news, I'll probably start working on more of the Orks this month due to the possibility of attending a tourney in November. Which would be nice, but it all really depends on the money and whether or not I'm in work by then.

Speaking of work, it looks like I haven't gotten this Ice Cream job.

This is somewhat of a downer really, as I had really gotten used to the idea, and I felt my interview went well.
Still, I had my interview for Argos the other day, and that went well too I thought... sadly, I have an underlining feeling that I'm not going to get it, but I'll know by the end of the week.

Firstly, in the RBS, the last two rounds have both been very close, with Heavy Metal beating the might of Chuck Norris 13 to 12, and Peanut Butter Sammiches winning over Orcs 13 - 12 also.
This means that Gold will go up against the Tasty Peanut Butter Sammich, and Heavy Metal will either face Ninjas, or Elves. o_o

Secondly, its looking more likely that I haven't gotten this Ice Cream job.

Which is a pity, because I need the cash, and want to get back to working. Instead, I'm going to have to hope I do well in this upcoming interview for Argos on Monday.

Model wise, I'm buys building some more Dwarf warriors so that I can play 1k games against my pals Lizardmen, so not much in the way of painting has really been done. But, this weekend doesn't seem to have much in the way of plans... and nor does next week come to tthink of it.. so you never know. I might get some more painting done if I can.

In other news, I've gotten another job interview for next Tuesday.

Its with an American company called Marble Slab Creamery, which I believe is opening an Ice Cream shop in Newcastle in October.
Now, I don't really like jobs to do with food... but this isn't just food... its Ice Cream.

Need I say more?
The good thing is, is that if the hours work out right, there shouldn't be much stopping me from trying to pick up both this job, and the Argos one. Which much mean more monies.

In wargaming news, OMG SPACE WOLVES!
This is what I have been waiting for, for ages. Finally I can start to plan my new SM chapter... well, I say new, its been an idea for a long while, but still.
Basically, my Domini Vulpes, fluff wise are all but dead and destoryed, they will be my normal Space Marines.
But my Anglo-Saxon themed marines I will base on the Space Wolf dex. Because I feel that the rules AND the models will reflect a better overall Anglo-Saxon theme and feeling than any other chapter.

Well, one more group to go before the start of the next round, and so far I think there has yet to be a random object without a name next to it to go through, which is good, as it means someone will win the prize at the end of it all.

In other news, I recieved my benifits this week, which means that they haven't stopped my benifits, or they haven't gotten around to deciding yet. Either way I feel I have dodged a bullet as it means I can pay my loan tomorrow.
But, it seems that this whole benifits thing might just be a fart in the wind (I know, an odd thing to say, but its the first thing that came to mind, so

) as today I got a call from Argos saying that I should attend a recruitment evening at one of their stores on Monday.

Now, its only ten hours a week, and its only a Christmas temp job, but it starts in two weeks, and there will be overtime more than likely, so, its all good I think. So with any luck, I'll be able to get it.

Funnily enough, they have yet to receive my application form... aye lol. Instead, they called me on the basis of my cover letter and CV that I sent directly to the store a week ago. So that kinda makes me happier, as it means I have stood out from the crowd.

Annnnd finally, wargaming wise, I haven't played anything for a few weeks, but I have undercoated my shoota boyz today, and I'm working on a unit of 24 Dwarf Warriors too.

So with any luck, I'll have more stuff to show off soon.

Yesterday was probably the worst day I've had in a while.
Not only did I not managed to pick up any job application forms, and was sent away from very shop I visited empty handed, I came home to a phone call from the Job Centre, who asked me why I hadn't applied for a job with the Post Office that they had given me.

Basically I coundn't apply for it because it was closed when I went to apply for it. But they say that wasn't the case, and now, my benifits, the only thing that is keeping me going, might be stopped.
This annoys me no end.
Alas, I have to go and see them on Monday about it.

But that hasn't been the end of it. Noooo, later that night I went for a run, to calm myself and to try and keep up with my fitness, only to find that half way around my route, I had to stop, and limp back, to my house.
It seems that my old ligiment injury from a year ago has popped up to say hello, which is annoying, because I know I warmed up properly last night, and nor did I trip or fall on it.
And today, I can't even walk on it. >____<

So I'm out of action for only the Cheesecake God knows how long. With any luck it'll pass in a day or two and I can ease back into my fitness routine again.

This is all I need... >__<

Today is looking like its going to be another crappy day, as I've gotten my Ork Shoota Boyz based now, but not only can I not walk to the garden to undercoat them, its stupidly windy and rainy. >___<
Still, thankfully, I have some Dwarfs that I can paint up, so not all is lost.

On Saturday I attended my second dA Newcastle meet, and once again it was awesome.
I wasn't going to be able to make it, but thankfully and helped me out by picking me up to give me a lift. So many thanks to those two, you made it possible for me to have an awesome day out.

Much foodage was eaten. I went for a swim in the very cold North Sea... with my clothes on.
And later, many ales were drunk.

All in all, it was a fantasic day.

So Group C finally finishes, after it was given extra time due to how close it was. But finally, both Elves and Orcs find there way into the next round, but it could have easily been Tea or Cheese Sammich at the end of the day.

So, what else has been going on in my life?
Not a lot really. More job hunting and more job rejections, though, I have been painting a lot more recently, so not all is bad.

However, I had been looking forward to the Newcastle dA BBQ meet this weekend, sadly, it does seem I won't be able to attend due to the lack of money I have. I have some coming in tomorrow, but only a little, and that is to pay for next months bills, so I can't use any of it.

Its times like this when the lack of a job gets to me. As I find I want to commit to things, then find, that because I have no money, I can no longer take part.
It doesn't do wonders for my self esteem.

Played my first games of Blood Bowl today, won 3-0, 2-1 and 2-1, though really the first two games were getting used to the rules, so really, I only see the last one as any sort of proper victory.

I can has pick up a copy of Blood Bowl plz?

I went to Gateshead Gaming today, the place where I got all my other 2nd Ed 40k codexes from.
Took in a load of stuff to trade, and got a Â£50 credit. So I got 12 Dwarf Hammerers, 6 Foundation paints, and a copy of Blood Bowl, the most recent edition I believe.

But get this... the game has NEVER been used. Opened, aye, but never used. The models are all on the sprues still, and book is in mint condition, and the card counters aren't only still on the card sprue, but also still in the plastic covering!

Well worth the Â£25 it was priced at if you ask me.

Actually, thinking back over the year so far, I've picked up some damn good bargins.

Still no luck with the job hunting. At some point today I'm going to have to do some more, but alas, I can't really complain. If I want a job, I have to keep looking.

Model wise, I'm working on some ork boyz. So I hope to have them done this week at least.

I've also decided to put the next Kiriban at 11,000. 15k would have been the mark, but since there wasn't even one winner for the 10k, I feel kinda guilty. So, 11k is the next one.

And as for the Random battle sweepstakes, its pretty much ready to start. I advertised it on the dA forums, and thankfully, a load of peoples have joined in the fun.
So I'll probably start it tonight providing no more people enter.

Basically it'll be run like the World Cup. Theres 8 groups of either 4 or 5 that have all been drawn out of a hat.
The top two of each group then go onto the knock out stages, and so on until we get to the final! And the winner of the final, of course wins ze prize!
Each poll should run for about 3 or 4 days.

Well, it was the start of the English football season yesterday, and so I was a happy chappy. It was certainly a welcome change to the money woes I still have at the minute.
Speaking of which, I still have no job, and far too many job rejection letters.

I wouldn't mind so much, but its just having a bad effect on me at the minute, and making me all dull and depressive.. which is just bloody annoying really.

Model and drawing wise, I haven't done as much in recent days as I would have liked, but then, whats new?
Though having said that, my Space Marine picture just needs his chest eagle done, but sadly, I need to buy some yellow copics for it, and as you can probably guess, I don't have the money to buy them. Still, I guess it can wait for a couple more weeks.

Model wise, I'm back on the Orks for now, until I get them up to 1000 points of painted and finished models. (My then first finished army!)
After that, I will probably finish off the first 500 points of Dwarfs before moving on to 500 points of something else.

Not too far off of 10k for this Kiriban..thing either. lol. I've never done one before, so it'll be interesting to see who (If anyone) gets it. I've never painted a model for someone else really.. so that will be interesting.

So, my room is finally sorted, and my work area, while only slightly re-arranged, is once again clean and tidy and ready for it to be made a mess of again.

It seems that I'm not going to be getting any games this weekend, so I have decided to take drastic action! Well.. as drastic as it can be...

This of course cuts my armies down like, 500 points or so, but still, at least it should help me to get stuff finished a bit more.
Also, if I get to 1k of finished Orks... I can then claim to have actually finished an army! For the first time EVER!
I mean, its only been 14 years....

In other Lauinav wargaming news, my Fantasy Tale of Painters isn't going well at all. With my lack of motivation lately, I find myself with having 500 points of Dwarfs still to do, and with three weeks left.
It doesn't help that I can't actually afford to buy a new box of warriors either.
So I don't think I'll be picking up many points this round at all.

Arrrgh... far too achey from tonights 5-a-side football. Still, Â£1.60 for 90 minutes of footy (We snuck in a sly extra 30 minutes ) is most awesome.

Erm, so... yeah... work loads... well.
I went on a mission yesterday to sort my desk out. You know, thinking that a nice clean out of my desk and a bit of a new set up would hopefully give me some new motivation.
Well.. the desk is still like it was.... it seems in the quest for a tidy desk, I needed space elsewhere in the room.. this has caused me to go all out on it all... so as it stands I'm actually sleeping in the living room on the sofa because of all the crap that has taken over my room...

Still, it'll be better once I get it all sorted out, which will hopefully be tomorrow!

Been suffering from huge lack of motivation the last few days. This has caused me to not get any work done, drawing or painting.
Grah >_< I hate it when this happens. Because I hate wasting time.

Plus, the amount of job rejection letters/emails I've gotten the last four days hasn't helped matters at all.

Still, I've grown a bit happier with the news that I'm going to be to see some live music this year! (Given that I'm having to miss Bloodstock this year, this is a good and welcome thing.)
Its only three bands, but they are bands I want to see, so, all is well.

10k Page views is on the horizon me hearties! Arrrr!
I know pageviews don't really mean so much, but, I've been on dA for about 6 years now with two accounts, and I've always liked to hit a decent number like, well, take 10k for example.
In a way I kinda guess it mean your somewhat liked. I mean especially if people keep coming back to your page or watch you.

So, to the person who bags a screenie of mah 10,000th page view I will either do a drawing for them, or paint a model. (Their choice.)

So, I've just about finished the Thunderers. I'm happy enough with them, but I feel they could be better. To be honest, I hit that mark where I just left them far too long, and so after that was passed, I just wanted them finished and out of the way, considering that I have the Miners and Bolt Throwers to get done now.
Still, I need to static grass there bases and finish the movement tray for them, but all in all, they should be up tomorrow.

Also coloured my first drawing in GIMP today. Well chuffed with it, but I'm unsure whether or not I want to put it up on this dA account. See, I like how I have this account set out, and how its mainly got this one wargaming, model making theme to it.
So I don't know if I should make a Lauinav-Drawing account or something, just so that it keeps it all seperate.
The problem then is having to pay seperate subs for each account, and given that I want to start playing with this camera I've found, that might not be such a hot idea.

Speaking of the camera, I've just about figured out how to use it. I just need to get some 35mm film to give it a test to see how it comes out.

It was a cracking day, and I got to meet loads of new people.
Loads of people taking photos with all sorts of different cameras has made me fish out this old Minolta 7000 that used to belong to my Gran.

I have nooooo idea how to work it. At all. I've worked out how to take the lens thingy off, and thats about it.
But the bit where the film goes... well, I know where it goes. It just won't open.
I've said Open Sesame and everything. .__.

Anyway, in gaming news, I haven't done a lot of painting lately, at all.
This r maek me saaaad panda.
And busy this week with verious things as well as job hunting, so I'm unsure of the amount of time I will get to spend on model making.
The next batch of Thunderers are almost finished though, but then I have to work on my Miners and Bolt Throwers.

So I haven't gotten off to the flying start to Round Two of this Team Shroom Tale of Painters I'm in.
In fact, it might end up sucking quite badly, given that I need to buy 12 Hammerers and another box of Warriors.

Still, I have 6 or so weeks left, so I should still be able to gain points.

The other reason I haven't been model making lately, is that I'm trying to get back into writing. Last night I went to this writing group for the first time. Only a monthly thing like, but it seems to be okay.
That, and I've been trying to spend a lot more time out, either at the gym or playing 5-a-side footy, so all in all, I haven't been about as much as normal.

Other than that, I'm looking forward to going to this upcoming Newcastle dA meet that someone is running. Looks to be quite promising, and it'll be good to meet more new people.

Well, sadly its looking like I won't finish all the models for this round of the Fantay Tale of Painters. Theres just too much to do, and at my speed of painting, its not going to happen.
The best I can now hope for is getting the second unit of Thunderers done. Which will be another point at least, but still, not what I wanted really. :/

It's looking like I won't get the Orks done before the end of the month, but thats okay, so long as I get the two Dwarf units done.
Finally all the dwarfs are undercoated, and I've made a start on them. The bases are done, bar the addition of static grass, and I've actually started on the models now.
They need to be finished by the end of next Tuesday in order to pick up full points in the first round of this Fantasy Tale of Painters I'm running.

In none gaming/painting news. I can has found Gym plz.
Going to start going to this Gym that I live near as I'm fed up with just going running all the time.
Should be much more of a benifit, especially if I can keep it up until next Feb.

The last few days have been somewhat uneventful to say the least. I've been doing some work on the Ork unit lately, but only due to the fact I haven't been able to undercoat the dwarfs due to rain or wind.. or in some cases, both.
Which any luck, it won't be so windy tomorrow and I'll be able to get them done.
If not, I'll do some more work on those orks, as well as maybe a bit more work on my gaming board now that I have a large dust sheet to lay on the floor.

I've noticed a lot more crappy gaming behaviour of late. Be it from either other peoples accounts or from witnessing it happen at my local store.
I don't generally mean cheese lists, as I don't generally mind cheese lists so much due to the fact people are fully entitled to use said lists.
What I mean is, the likes of overly anal rules lawyers to generally snobbish, holier than thou attitudes.

It saddens me somewhat, despite my own "Play to Win" attitude. I play to win, but not at the expense of fun... when I say that, I don't mean just my fun, but also my opponent's fun too. After all, we're both playing the game right?

Winning means quite a lot to me, even in something like table top wargaming. I never did well at school, and I was never good at sports despite how hard I tried. I was the type of kid that was always picked last for teams. I am good at table top wargames though, and so, getting the win always makes me feel awesome about myself.
But, being a good sport means the same to me, if not more so. This hobby brings me a lot of joy and happiness, and it is fair to say over the 14 years I've been into it, it has pulled me through some damn dark areas of my life. So, the idea of being a arse to an opponent and spoiling their fun as well as my own, is somewhat alien to me.

But what happens when I come across I a player thats being dickish to me?
Well, thats a hard question, as I've never really come up against one. But I certainly don't think that the answer is that I should be an arse back to them.
The way I see it, is that being a good sportsman (and aye, I do consider wargaming a sport of sorts.) means that you remain being a good sport even if your opponent isn't. After all, after the game you can complain about them as much as you want, and then you know who to avoid later on. And if its a tourney game, then the chances of you meeting them again (unless its a local event) are quite small.

What also gets me is that this bad attitude can sometime cause new gamers to leave the hobby as it pushes the newbies away, or leaves them ending up with no one to play and learn from as they don't want to go anywhere near the wankers.
I'm a vet gamer, and to me that comes with a sort of duty to new gamers to get them involved. To answer all their questions, no matter how silly or numerous they might be, because new gamers are what keeps the wargaming hobby flowing.
So, to see other gamers treat the newbies with a total contempt and hatred pisses me off something rotten.

I find it funny that I'm trying to avoid work... by actually doing work.
What I mean by this is, that my Orks and Dwarfs ready for painting for my June Projects are sitting on the shelf in front of me baying for my blood.

Found out today that my job seeking benifits have been stopped, and that I have to go into the Job Centre tomorrow to talk to them about restarting it, or some such. Wish they'd bloody told me about it on Monday though when I was actually there.
Its kinda put a stop to my painting at the minute, as I was due to paint tomorrow in GW, instead, I have have two out of the blue appointments.

In good news though I took a load of models that I was never going to use into a local trade shop that deals in models. Got Â£60 on trade for them, and so got me:
Hard back copy of Liber Chaotica - Â£20
8 Imperial BFG transports - Â£12
Unmade box of 16 Dwarf Warriors Â£14
2 Unmade Dwarf Bolt Throwers - Â£14

So thats my next ToP round sorted at least.

Also heard back about a possible date for entry into the RAF. Looks like if it all goes well, it'll be sometime in Feb next year. So plenty of time to get fitter and ready for it.

Lookie at what I managed to pick up today for Â£17!

The Chaos dex is in a bit of a state as its spine is a bit ripped, but its still readable, and isn't falling to bits just yet.

That puts my collection of 2nd Ed Dexes up to this:

I actually have two Ork dexes, but one is warped due to water damage sustained years ago.
Buying those five dexes has really made my day.
Me and a mate of mine are going to have a 2nd Ed Orks vs Chaos game next Saturday.

So I didn't get the job at GW. Didn't even get a call back Which is a bit meh, as I was hoping for a 2nd interview at least.
The only things I can think that put them off of me, is either because I was too nervous in the little interview, or that the main manager knows that I'm trying to join the RAF.
Which I can't really blame him for.

Those orks are almost finished. Just got the teeth and camo to do, and then finish their trukk, and thats it, I can then crack on with some Dwarfs.

So, lack of updates of late.

Basically, I've been staying away from the internet, spending most of my time at GW painting.
Working on 12 Orks at the minute, and those are coming along well.

Also had an open night at GW for a job. I think I did okay, but I was quite nervous during the talk with the regional managers. Still, I'm hoping for a second interview. As that will mean that I will have another interview on Saturday and also have a chance to be on the shop floor in a bluye GW shirt This will give me a chance to show off what I can do.

I'll be at GW tomorrow, so I with any luck I'll find out tomorrow. Either way, I'll be there tomorrow and Friday to spend my time painting. Its much better than staying at home and wasting the days away.

Well, I have my next RAF medical date. Its set for next Tuesday. And I think I'm ready for it. My weight is still about the 98kg mark, and I would rather it was lower, but it still means my BMI is lower than 30.
Still, I've still got until next Tuesday to continue losing weight.

Hobby wise. I have two main projects running.
Team Shroom, Fantasy Tale of Painters.
- Made a start on my Dwarfs. My first round is 20 Warriors and 20 Thunderers. Currently painting up 10 of said Thunderers.

Orks
- Now that the nobs are finished for the time being, I'm going to try and get a trukk mob finished. The trukk in question is almost done, but the 12 Boyz are only undercoated black, and based.

Haven't really got anything planned for until the medical and fitness tests next week, so, with any luck I'll be able to crack on with some work.
Mind you I might go out to the local Heavy Metal club for my Spawnday on Saturday... Jeez. Imma going to be 25

So out of the 5 Ork nobz I have remaining, one has been finished. Of the four left, the painboy is almost done. The three after him, aren't that far off either.
So all in all, I good crack at them through-out today might see them finished.

It seems I've broken from my normal production line way of doing them as well. The painboy has been almost finished for two days, but instead I moved on to starting the Waaagh banner holder instead Not that its been a bad thing. I think its brought a fresh breath into my painting... or rather the enjoyment of it.

The Production line way is all good and great, but it gets dull faster than painting model after model. I guess its good to swap and change depending on how you feel.

I've actually been enjoying being on dA the last few days. I've come across a new bunch of wargamers, and its been great actually chatting to them over the comments system.
Its given me a bit of fresh faith in the Intarwebz!1!one, which is good I think, as for a while I have been becoming more and more fed up with it.
Wargaming forums are all good and well, but the same topics always come up time and time again. Forums can also get quite busy, where as dA, wargamers can use their pages how they want, and focus of the painting/modelling/converting aspects of the hobby.
dA is also good for those handy with a pen, and its good to come across Warhammer artwork from time to time.

Of course, there is Cool Mini or Not, but from what I've seen, that tends to be more about the good painters. The people who win awards and such.
I had a CMoN account ages ago, but I never got any comments back on my work. It always seemed like I had to actually have won a Golden Daemon first before people would talk to me, or comment on my models. (Mind you, I don't know if its changed much since.)

Where as on dA. If you want people to give you tips, you only have to ask. Sure you can get that on forums as well, but with dA, with the people you meet, and the people who you chat you and you might watch you, theres a stronger sense of community. Well at least in my opinion.
See, on a forum, you all share it, and you post a topic, and you all write in it. And thats good and all, but with dA, while you're all part of it, you also have you're own page, and that page can come to define who you are as a person, as well as being able to show off what you can do.

Anyway, I should probably stop rambling now and get back to painting.

Woooooo! I painted!
Well.. not as much as I would have liked, but I've regained an old trick I used to do.
Basically, I put a single music album on, and paint until it ends. Then take a quick break. Get a refill of my drink. Walk about a bit, get the blood flowing some more, then I pick a new album, rinse and repeat.

It used to work wonders before, but feel into dis-use when it stopped working.

I only managed two albums today, but, its a start. I'm looking to continue, and improve on the trend tomorrow.
With any luck, It'll help get me back into the swing of things.

It seems that I might have my armed forces medical again within the next few weeks. So I need to get back on the ball with the weight loss thing as tbh, I've let it slip slightly in the last couple of weeks.
I'm still kicking about at the 97/98kg mark, so thats under the 100kg I need to be, but I need to keep it under.. the way I see it, the lower I can get, the better.

Working some more on the paint jobs for the 2nd set of 5 ork nobz. I was hoping to get them done for the end of the weekend, but I'm not sure that will happen. Still, they should be up soon enough.

Going to remove the commissions stuff too, as it hasn't really worked out... that said, I never really expected it to.
I sometimes wihs I had a better nack for drawing and digital art. I'm okay at drawing, but its not really my thing... which is a shame as with work I could be could. Its a pity cause it almost seems like I'm wasting it... but like I said, its not my thing.

Give me a paintbrush and a model though or a pen and paper.. and I'm away.

Speaking of writing, I haven't really done much of that of late... I guess its probably something I should change.
Been up to a lot of RP on a cheapy little forum I made. Some Werewolf and 40k RP going on over there, so thats keeping my writing interest up.

Well, no, not really.. I have no cheesecakes

First off, I can has commission?

An awesome piece done for me by Go check out your artz! Cause they are teh awesomez.

Secondly, I've started some painting up again. Going to get those over five ork nobz done before I move on to a Trukk and a set of 12 Ork boyz. Going to get some more done today, but also going around to a friends house tomorrow for a day of painting and relaxingz.

-Still found nothing on the job front
But I am happy with how the weight loss is going. I need to go back to the armed forces careers office soon and try and book a new date for another medical though.. but that won't happen until May at least.

Anywho, not much else to report.

Well, its been almost a month since my last reply :/
And I can't say that there is much to report. I'm still losing weight slowly, but surely... I still haven't found any work.

But what is most annoying is that recently, I've done very little in the way of painting. Its even more annoying that normal, because I'm not in work... so WTF is going on?
The last week at least, I just haven't felt like it, and it gets to me, because I just don't know how these people who cern out fully painted armies do it. >_<

Still, I've two days of nothing before a full day of wargaming, so, with any luck, I'll crack on...
I had thought about doing to GW to paint, but the thought of having to endure small, annoying children, and having to use GW products ALL OF THE TIME, saw to that. Which sadly, keeps me here at square one. >_<
