WELCOME TO LAZY TOWN!

Hello everyone, I'm *jao and this is the place where you'll find all my Lazy Town stuff, from short quick funny comics to full blown story arcs, to just pictures of the charcters and perhaps some fiction.

Lazy Town teaches the importance of healthy eating habits, excersize, and learning to be better friends all while incorperating techno music that'll get the kids up and dancing along. And while those are wonderful reasons to watch, you guys just have to meet these characters!
You can do that by going here or swing by some of the links I have provided.
Finally! Freedom to start work on this project. I have a new script and new skills!
I'm DYING to subscribe this account. It needs pictures in the journal.
No, I'm not dead. Just busy with school and the like, but Spring Break has finally come so that means actrual comic pages.
Sorry for making you all wait. Besdies, I've gotten alot of proactice with drawing the charcters (on my homework, mostly) as well as gathered good refrence on the character designs and town, which you know, is quite a feat. Thanks to the wonderful pictures at The Daily Life on Set section of LazyTown. com and my taped epsidoes.
I'll be scanning and uploading all refrences I've sketched into scraps very soon.
Hey guys, putting some things in order to get ready for the actrual comics. Getting some tablet nibs, so I plan on doing the comic digitally! Should make things easier (atleast cleaner. less eraser dust and bleeding ink). Also fixed up the journal some. I'm going to be entering a contest soon and if I win I'll get this gallery subscribed so I can make this a real journal. Untill then you'll have to settle with bullets.

Dear viewer,
Hi, I’m jao and I want to talk for a just a moment about why I’m doing this. How old are most people who surf DA? 12? 10? Older? That’s why. You see, this show Lazy Town, it has such a great message and is so much fun, and well, I love it because it promotes good choice and a healthy life. And man, the characters are so wonderful and complex; every episode is full of laughter and suspense. It’s great! In fact it’s so cool they show it twice a day Monday through Friday. But chances are most people checking out this gallery have never heard of it. Why? It’s a Nick Jr. Show.

That’s right. Nick Jr. In fact, out of the nine characters only three are humans, the rest are puppets. I know if you were to sit the kids of my high school down and asked them to watch it, I mean really watch it; far more than half wouldn’t give it a chance just by how it looks. But one thing I do know is more than half my school reads comic books; graphic novels are all over the place. So here was what I thought

I am hoping, by making these comics to help spread the messages Mr. Scheving puts into his shows and exposing a different audience, who in my opinion need it just as much as young children, and in a way they might enjoy, might give a chance. Here are the characters stripped of the titles of human and puppet, real and fake and put down in paper.

I hope this does not deter you from reading and enjoying, and in NO WAY do I claim ANY of these characters or settings to be mine. They are soul property of Mr. Scheving and Lazy Town Entertainment. I make absolutely no profit from any of this.

It’s just a fan that wishes she could make half the difference this show makes.

Sincerely,

Characters
These are quoted from Lazy Town . Com.
(Because I can't describe the characters any better than this...)

SPORTACUS
"Sportacus 10 ("Sportacus" to his friends) is LazyTown’s resident action-health hero. He’s the hero every little boy and girl wants to be: fit, agile and an amazing acrobat with lightning fast moves. He loves to use everyday items in outrageous ways and never does anything ordinary when he can do it with flair. Patient and kind and always understanding, he doesn’t tell the kids of LazyTown not to do something, but rather leads by example.

His kryptonite is sugar. Just the slightest bit makes him instantly lethargic, and he crumples to the ground in a heap. His primary mode of transportation is his large airship that hovers over LazyTown. He travels between airship and LazyTown in a pod-like transporter, the Skutla. Alerted to trouble by a large crystal on his uniform, he’s ready in a flash to save the day.

Sportacus loves to see others succeed and is disappointed when they won’t even try. He looks beyond the status quo and believes there’s always a new, unique way to accomplish something. He’s a hero-for-all seasons, bringing vim and vigor to a world that’s sorely in need of it, an unstoppable wakeup force in a town that’s fast asleep."

Robbie Rotten
"Every hero needs a good villain, and Sportacus has a doozy in Robbie Rotten. Robbie (or Mr. Rotten to you) can’t believe that Sportacus is considered cool by the LazyTown kids, especially since Sportacus is a horrible example of what it takes to be a LazyTowner! The only thing that can tear Robbie away from snacking and TV in his underground lair is a new, nasty scheme to embarrass his sworn nemesis, Sportacus! His most passionate desire is to burst Sportacus’s balloon, both figuratively and literally. A master of disguises (well, at least he can fool our hero), Mr. Rotten is constantly luring our guileless hero into another nefarious trap designed to make Sportacus the laughingstock of LazyTown. But, somehow, Robbie’s “brilliant” plans always fail, thanks to Sportacus’s amazing athletic abilities and quick mind — plus the help of those darn kids!"

Stephanie
"Stephanie is a sweet, optimistic girl who’s just moved here to live with her uncle (the Mayor of LazyTown). She’s our audience’s point of entry - the new arrival, a stranger who’s trying to figure out this new place and its crazy ways. Sympathetic and curious, Stephanie likes her new town; it’s weird but fun. She’s an aspiring dancer, so she appreciates the fantastic moves that Sportacus performs.

Because she wasn’t raised in LazyTown, Stephanie doesn’t struggle with basic health issues like the other kids. Instead, she’s trying to figure out how to stay true to what feels right for her while surrounded by the unhealthy behaviors of her new friends.

Stephanie is positive, curious, affable, and able to learn from her mistakes. She sees her life as a grand adventure. One where she can try new things, makes new friends, and sometimes hangs out with a hero! Hey, even when the chips are down, she holds to her motto:
“There’s always a way!”"

Ziggy
"Ziggy has a big heart – and an appetite to match. He doesn’t just live life; he devours it, with tremendous gusto. His goofy enthusiasm and good cheer provide a constant boost to everyone around him. He’s always one of the first to embrace a new idea or to say ‘yes’ to an adventure, but he’s just as easily distracted, especially by - mmmm - ‘Choco-Sugar-Yummies’.
When Ziggy grows up, he wants to be a superhero, just like his idol, Sportacus. And he’s planning on practicing his running and jumping - really, he is - but maybe first he’ll have just one more bite of candy..."

Stingy
"A bossy collector of stuff, Stingy impatiently dreams of being king of the world. Young and eager, he loves playing with the group (you can’t be a king without subjects), but finds himself apoplectic with jealousy whenever anyone brings something new to play with, something that he doesn’t have. He feels that possessions ‘make the man’. Stingy’s avid collecting does mean that he usually has just the thing the others need to save the day, put on the play, or find their way. If he’ll only share it, that is.

Stingy admires Trixie’s carefree attitude, but he’s jealous of her leadership ability. He’s covetous of Pixel’s computers and gadgets, can’t comprehend Ziggy’s generosity, and, while he really likes Stephanie, is vexed by her seeming lack of concern with material things. What’s a king to do? "
