Yes of course I agree that there will always be someone that knows more than you or someone who is better than you in some way at something.

In my dream I saw myself as a child been shafted from a game of tag, excluded from many other activities along the way as well as been disregarded in a national science competition mainly because of the color of my skin. “No racial undertone in that last comment.”

But the worse I recall, to date is when someone I care about, someone I still think very highly of chose someone else over me on the basis of distance. Yes I have been second best many a time with regards to relationships and boy hood crushes, but I guess that is why they call it a crush.

You begin to question what made that other person choose the other, what makes the other person so much better than yourself. The answer is you don’t know and that is life. Thankfully the human spirit does not allow one to give up so easily and with the idea of hope in mind one realizes it was never meant to be and I am happy with this realization.

I’ve always sensed if something is too good to be true it cannot last or it is a double edged sword. Thankfully this person and I are now still good friends and when I think about it friendship means more to me anyway.

With that said I love my mate Nanukk dearly and I’m so happy to find someone that cares so much for me. *Licks*

This part is for those who care!

Well for the past three weeks I’ve been on a holiday, a long awaited and much deserved holiday. The first week and a half I tried to find a job, applying at many design agencies looking for freelance work or a part time position. Unfortunately nothing thus far and I must admit it’s not easy to find a job these days and I’m also starting to doubt my career path as a Multimedia Designer. *Sigh*

During those two weeks I lost two very promising web design jobs and it seemed all was lost this holiday. Thankfully my dear friend from college Natalie put me it touch with an estate agent who was looking for a house sitter on Sundays. To my surprise I met her last Sunday and house sat for a second time around, she then turned around to me and offered me a job house sitting houses every Sunday until the end of the year. *Jumps for joy.*

I with open paws immediately jumped at the opportunity and accepted. I now feel a little bit better, but I’m still a long way off from saving up enough money to come and visit Toeknee in the states sometime at the end of the year if he so permits. *Yearning Gaze*

This holiday has been particularly boring for me because three of my best friends have gone overseas visiting family. My two Chinese friends went to Shanghai and my French friend went back to France for a month. Just my luck stuck at home with nothing to do and without a job and just think next month my parents and sister are going on holiday for two weeks and I am yet again going to be stuck all alone at home. *Sad Growl*



I must admit for only been on holiday for a week I was already looking forward to next term. “Yes I’m crazy, but I assume studying Multimedia Design gets you into a productive habit and when your not doing something you feel like something’s wrong.”

Ah before I forget I did enter the All Star Converse Competition, we had to design an emblem or design face for their All Star shoe range to commemorate 100 years. The design had to incorporate the following ideologies or identities of the brand, concepts like: self-awareness, youth, and genuine, street savvy, no-nonsense and social. I played around with the concepts of ideology within society, identity, status and Urbanism or the process of Urbanisation. I will upload my three designs as soon as I get a chance, don’t think I’ve got a chance in hell of winning, nevertheless if you never try you never know!

I also managed to finish off a project I started in the beginning of this year, my friend Kevin has a really moose computer with a massive graphics card to boot and shitty ventilation in his tower. He commissioned me to develop and design a means to cool his computer down. After much deliberation, pain, sweat, tears and money I finally managed to reduce 17-20 Degrees C of his processor and 5 Degrees C off his initial case temperature. I will also be uploading pictures of the final design and the specs next week. *Giggles*

Well that is about it I have a ton of pictures to upload and equally a ton of messages and notes to special friends I need to reply to. So for those who have been expecting replies please be patient. I will get around to doing it as soon as possible. It’s just lately I’ve been a little depressed for I need some loving and affection. I’m trying so hard to please everyone, but it feels like I’m neglecting him my special other. “I miss him.” *Tears of loneliness.*

Guess what its Toeknee’s 22nd Birthday today and I’m very excited. Last week I sent him a birthday package by airmail, hopefully if everything has gone according to plan he would have received it by now. I’m absolutely bursting with excitement and I cannot wait to see the expression on his face. Ok it’s impossible for me to see the expression on his face, but I would do anything just to catch a glimpse of him during that moment.

Please if you know Toekneebob or know of his brilliant artistic skill and talents as a furry artist I recommend you go and wish him or just go and pay him a visit. No I order you to pay him a visit and while you’re there please wish him a happy birthday. You know double digits only come around every 11 years I see 22 as a very special number and thus deserves a round of applause and a mention.

I really hope he has a lovely day today and that he may spend today relaxing with friends and just to take it easy for he truly deserves it. Anthony has come a long way since last year, times have changes, places are different, people are different, but he still remains the most handsome kindest person I’ve ever had the privilege to have met. Happy Birthday my love!

I finally managed to send off Toeknee’s Birthday gift, I sent it via DHL and hopefully it will arrive by airmail at his residence sometime today or tomorrow, at the very latest Sunday. I’ve been promising to send him something extra special for the last eight months now and I intended to keep my promises. I really hope he likes all I’ve send him, most of it is homemade jewellery and other kinds of cool stuff he appreciates. I’ve never done something like this before, yes it has cost me a lot of time, effort and money, but if he likes it, it will be well worth the effort.

Ah yes the most important piece of news it will be Toekneebob’s 22nd Birthday tomorrow, I really hope he has a lovely day. I wish him many more and hope all his dreams to come true. If I had a wish I would wish to spend an entire day with him. Longing growl <^_^>

Last week I entered the Design Bravo Furniture competition to win a share in R60000.00 worth of prize money. The mandate called upon designers to ‘Design suitable, space-saving furniture for an area where occupants of low-cost housing must be able to relax (watch TV), entertain, cook, eat and wash dishes in one area comprising 12 m². The furniture must be functional and the designs must complement the life style of the occupants of a low-cost house.’ Today they announce who gets go into the second round of the competition. Unfortunately I haven’t been contacted yet therefore I assume I wasn’t chosen.  Ah well if you never try you may never know!

I’ve decided to go and work overseas in the US over the December holidays, mainly for the experience of meeting new people and the prospect of earning Dollars. I’m hoping to find a job somewhere in California or Arizona. I’ve also herd that packing fish in Alaska pays handsomely and thus I may decide to go there for the holidays. I only know a handful of people living in the states, the majority of them are furry artists, but I don’t want to encroach into their lives asking for a place to stay.

I’m glad to report that Toekneebob is doing just fine. A few of you may have noticed his absence over a few months. But I think he is back on track we’re got all our paws crossed for you my love. ^^ Whilst we’re on the subject Toekneebob just update his DeviantART journal and I’ve decided to use his tag whereby I must list 8 to 15 weird attributes about my personality. I think it’s about time I updated my journal, but lately things have been very quiet. Well ok quiet in the sense of my relationship, but very busy and hectic when it comes to college work.

I haven’t heard from my mate Toekneebob in quiet some time now. I sent him a note about two weeks ago and unfortunately no response. To be perfectly honest I’m a bit concerned, but yet again I can get a little too protective and paranoid at times.

I really worry about him and more so because I’m unable to do anything about it. I understand he needs his freedom, its just I really love him to bits and if there was anything worrying him I would try my utmost to comfort and be with him. Yes he is going through a rough patch at the moment and I think independence is a good thing. Its just I miss him terribly and only just last week I emerged out of a severe depressive state.

Ok I miss him and if you are out there my little lion know this, I’m always here for you and that I think of you very often. On a more positive note two very talented furry artists whom I’ve been observing for the last eight or so months are celebrating their 3rd Anniversary together. Icelyon and ZenTiger are mates that share the most beautiful and intimate relationship I ever seen. I really wish one day I could experience the love, compassion, dedication and the trust these two furs share.

To be perfectly honest I've worked my ass off this year. I can only hope that all of my hard work and determination has paid off. I've already written two out seven exams and I feel fairly confidant. I've already achieved two distinctions for my Biology portfolio and IT management portfolio.

My Biology lecturer said to me there is no reason why you should not get a distinction in this year’s final Bio paper. I would love an A. I must not get too aver confidant, but I can be hopeful. Whilst on the subject of subject portfolios I was shocked and literally livered to hear that my mathematics portfolio does not count towards my final end of year mark.

I've worked extremely hard on that particular portfolio and the educational system changes the rules yet again. I've been screwed once before and by my estimation my portfolio would be in the region of 60-65%. My teacher should have informed me right in the beginning of the year that part time students do not have a portfolio for maths. At last then I would have not wasted my time.

The practical portfolio system is there to aid scholars like me that do not perform particularly well in examinations. I needed this portfolio in order to push me into the passing region. Thus I'll have to pull out all the stops. "I've got all my paws crossed, wish me luck!" I really cannot recall any bad things that have happening to me this year. The only one that comes to mind is the passing of my great uncle last month.

Having to rewrite four of my weaker high school subjects all over again, just to be able to study at an educational institute of my choice next year! Now that I think of it this course of action was a necessity and a privilege. To be given a second chance in rectifying mistakes made in the past is an opportunity in itself. Thus I'm grateful that I've made use of it because form here on there is no going back. Just the beginning of the rest of my life!

Unfortunately due to my hectic schedule and prior commitments many of my personal projects that I started in the beginning of the year have been temporally put on hold. For instance my idea for a Seasonal Furry Calendar featuring new upcoming furry artists and exceptionally gifted individuals has been moved to next year.

Secondly I would like to apologise profusely to TaniDaReal. I set out in the beginning of this year to custom design an animatronic tail for her new fursona Savoy. I've almost finished it, but ran out of funds due to a virus attack and data corruption on my computer in July. I was hoping to have it ready for her... Well in November which was last month, but I'm in the middle of my final end of year exams.

I may be going on a two month excursion to the UK during the months of December 2006 to January 2007. If this becomes a reality I will personally hand deliver Tani's animatronic to her in Germany. I really hope she can forgive me.

On a more positive note I met an exceptionally talented furry artist. He goes by the Alias furry name Toekneebob. I met this amazingly kind and considerate fur five months ago on DA. From that moment on the fur has just been flying. "Excuse the pun." Anthony is an amazing guy and I’m proud to call him friend. Please go and pay him a visit, especially his previous insightful journal entry entitled: ‘21 things you are looking for in a lover’.

I think it’s about time to update my journal especially after the previous extremely long winded journal entry! I'm pretty sure a lot of you have learnt a great deal about me from reading that entry and still need some time to recover from processing those vast amounts of facts.

Well what can I say this last week has been extremely busy! Not to mention the most unfortunate loss of one of my favourite environmentalists, Steve Erwin. I was literally devastated to hear of his death early Monday morning. He will be solely missed through the world for his contribution to our understanding of nature and his uncanny approach to life. He will always be remembered for his witty and somewhat silly facial expression, his hilarious accent and that all time favourite of his 'Crikey'.

Steve Erwin touched the hearts of millions of people and yet some choose to only concentrate on the cons of his life and not his pros. I personally think the pros certainly out weigh his cons. Yes I agree Steve sometimes posed some difficult and unconventional ways of teaching, but there was method in his madness. I'm referring to the incident in 2004 with his ten month old baby.

I will miss The Crocodile Hunter and I prey that God grants and bestows upon Steve's family solace and comfort through this harsh time. Steve has left a legacy, which for many will ensure his title as The Crocodile Hunter. The world has lost a humanitarian, but nature has lost a friend. I find it terribly ironic that a sting ray gave the death defying strike that killed Steve. I always though a crocodile would kill him. But these things happen.

Steve was in his element and he died doing what he loved. He died with his boots on! "I've always said that I would like to die with my boots on and I'm sure many think the same way." Oh before I forget I just want to wish Toekneebob a Happy belated 21st Birthday. His birthday was on Friday and I feel so bad for missing the chance to wish him on the day.

I drew him a surprise birthday card, but unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances I was unable to present it to him on the day of his birthday. I was going to upload it and I still may. It all depends, but it’s pointless because it defeats the entire purpose if it’s not presented at the right time.

I'm still pissed off because I spent the last two weeks conceptualising ideas for the design of the card and I missed the due date. Well I guess it’s the thought that counts and not was it on time or not. I really hope Anthony had a lovely day on Friday and I wish all his dreams come true!

So please go and wish him Happy Birthday or just pay him a visit. Besides I'm sure you would like to be wished once you've turned 21 and 21 is a mild stone in ones life. He is a really gifted anthro furry artist and my best friend on Deviant Art!

Other than that I'm writing my first of two preliminary examinations on Monday, Mathematics and Afrikaans. On Tuesday I'm writing IT Practical and on Friday a three hour Biology theory paper. Wish me luck because I'm really going to need it.

Well basically it’s pretty straight forward, Leo derived from the word meaning lion in Latin and Ra derived from Egyptian Mythology, Amon Ra the Egyptian Sun god (Pronounced Ammon Re). I chose the word Leo not because my star sign is Leo, I’m actually Taurus. The reason been is that I love all felines, lions in particular and everything mysterious and amazing that comes with being feline. I think that I was some kind of big cat in my last life and thus I associate very well with the common household feline. I was also inspired by the movie, The Lion King. I’m fascinated with the old kingdom, pharaohs, pyramids, hieroglyphics, mysteries, mummies and tombs The undeniable majesty of one of the most technological advanced civilizations of all time. LeoRa meaning: Lion Pharaoh of the Sun.

Well this particular wallet I’ve been using for the past fours years now, I actually made it myself! It’s a dark blue wallet with red trim on either side, it opens up and has place for loose change, notes, credit cards and another satchel for other ads and sods. I wish you all a magnificent, fun filled and loving day. Valentines Day is the day to tell someone special to you that you care about them. It’s a day to be happy, to have fun, make friends and mend old ones. I hope this is the day you meet a companion or be with the one you already have!

Unfortunately my Wellingtons Day starts out with a bang got an Afrikaans vocabulary test first thing in the morning. To top it off I’ve go a Biology Examination at the end of the day on Chemistry of Life. “Wish me luck; I’ve got all paws crossed.”

Other than that the week has started on a fairly positive note. Last week we lost a member of the pride, we had to put our sweetie pie Samantha cat down because of renal failure. I was so depressed and sad, but now I know she is in a better place and is not suffering.

Samantha was a young energetic and very playful cat. She was an active member of our family and will be greatly missed by all. Samantha had a possess for life and lived it to the full, what a unique and majestic creature. Sad Growl<^_^>

I’ve drawn Macpotter a Valentines Day card and I hope she likes it! I made a card for Stellartuna, but DA would not allow me to upload it??? I’m not sure what went wrong, but I’m hoping that I can upload it tomorrow. I really don’t understand why there are some many butterflies out flying around. I suspect is love in the air. I’ve still got a long way to go before I’m satisfied with the level of my art! I started dappling around at the end of the year with flash Animation, 3D modeling and animating on a 3D environment. My ultimate goal is to animate my characters in 3D environment and add lifelike fur and texturing to them using Maya, 3D Studio Max and Cinema 4D.

I’ve mainly being concentrating on Cinema 4D, hoping to master it before I tackle the high level industrial 3D modeling packages. You would not believe how powerful Cinema 4D is, especially when it comes to lighting and texturing.

I was blown out of the water when I saw Narnia “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe”. The animation was superb and breathtaking, Disney really out done them selves. Especially Aslan the lion, what a tranquil and majestic creature! “Aslan is not a tame lion.”

Narnia brought back some dormant, but memorable memories of when I when to go and see The Lion King for the very first time on the big screen. This is one of the few movies which, compliments the book in my opinion. My dream is still to go and work for Disney as a 3D animator.

Before I forget, I would like to wish every one a most blessed and fruitful new year. I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas.

Unfortunately the not so positive side of 2005 was not passing matric (collage) with university exemption. I only managed to achieve a senior certificate and thus I’m unable to study at a university. Well only another hurdle in life, if I wish to pursue my dream I must push on! In hopes of trying harder and learning from my mistakes.

I will on the other hand be rewriting specific subjects at Damelin Collage this year to improve my results in bettering my chance to get into a university in 2007.

I must thank all of my furry friends for their support this last year and I would like to apologize for not updating my journal as often as I should! I’ve undertake some other tasks this year other than my furry art. I’m constructing an animatronic fur tail for TaniDaReal’s new fursuit, Savoy, the silverfox/wolf hybrid. I’m also developing a modification concept for modifying an optical mini mouse into a graphic stylus © Byron Wright. So that Katanimate can use it as a substitute for a graphics tablet.
