This is a journal entry to let you all know where I've gone. It is currently the 3rd of February, 2012, and within the next 2 weeks, I will begin the first step of a long journey.

That's right: I'm going on a mission! I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (a.k.a. mormon) and I will be spending a year and a half in Chile, talking to people about the gospel, lending service, love, and probably some English lessons to those who need me. It was a nice change from my regular "either breakneck speed or sleeping" routine. I think it's really important to slow down and let yourself think about things every once in a while. Have a moment that's not flooded by the distraction of electronics, and just savor what your senses take in. It's easy to get lost in the rush life otherwise.

Usually they're not even looking at what I'm drawing, just watching me practice, wishing that they could be good at it. I clench my teeth each time I hear this, because in my mind, this statement is comparable to

Then I'll be back in time to catch the new school year in 2013!

If there was any argument against heavy gun control, though, Libya would be it. Government employed soldiers firing on innocent citizens who cannot pick up arms to defend themselves because they don't have any. People have died, children have been injured, and everyone's still hiding out. I feel like it would have been over much faster if weapons were in the hands of the people, if only for intimidation purposes.

Ever heard of a six word story? It's basically a story summed up in six words. Hemingway came up with an excellent example:"For sale: baby shoes. Never worn." Orson Scott Card's take was this: "The baby's blood type? Human, mostly." There was even a book published recently called "Not Quite What I was Planning", which is a bunch of six-word memoirs. They include gems like "Extremely responsible, secretly longed for spontaneity." and "Painful nerd kid, happy nerd adult."

It's a title-related problem. I'm planning to start posting pages for a comic fairly soon, but for the life of me, I CAN'T think of a title!!!

So here's what I'm asking. How do you guys think of titles for things? What kinds of titles are your favorites? Do you have suggestions? And should I just throw the pages out and think of a title later?

Any advice is appreciated!!

Today my brother and I were watching "The Young Bruce Lee" like we always do at midnight on New Year's eve. It's a 70's martial arts movie about the life of Bruce Lee. Here's some basic info about it: either it's horribly inaccurate, or there was some hot-to-trot guy showing up every five minutes of Bruce's life for him to beat up. I also learned that in the 70's, apparently people's lip movements didn't match their words and they always grew up completely in one cross-dissolve. And apparently gangs in the 70's wore khaki pants and tucked-in polo shirts. You should watch it.

I'm still struggling to find some good, clean anime. I'm having a difficult time. Tsubasa Chronicles, .hack//SIGN, and xxxHolic were some of my favorites.
