I've got this sad problem though. What do people usually sing when they go kboxing? what do sad hikkikomori's, suddenly exposed after 8 months of sitting in front of anime, sing? Do they sing popular Taiwanese songs, or super old but classic Chinese songs, or National day songs, or songs that none of her friends know where the hell it came from but the general otaku populace should roughly know kind of song.

A few months back, I chanced upon a comic book. As all good journals go.

So I'll skip to the part that's exciting.

You know Kenichi Sakura? The person who did Dragon Drive? Yea, hadn't heard of him/her too.

THE POINT IS. He/She coauthored this new manga about magical puppetry and the puppet master looks like Gin-san! (Gintoki Gin, not Gin from Bleach or Gin from Mushishi or any other silver haired person)

I'm too lazy to scan it and there don't seem to be any web sources on this book.

Of course, I had to go buy it.
It has the typical shounen formula of Maion guy, his lovely sister, mysterious stranger and hidden powers. And an enemy in a mask. As well a dead parents. Why does shounen have so many lost/dead parents. That wasn't a question. There wasn't any question mark see.

And how come shounen characters can bleed so much without dying. And presumably don't eat liver to help replenish their haemoglobins but still get on fine. yes, liver is good for blood.


Happy Chinese New year in one days time! Oh woe, the picture I meant to finish for cafepress is still incomplete. Sigh.

Before my com actually crashed, I was working on an rpg I FAIL IN RPGMAKER and then my com kapooted on me. Most probably because of my rpgmaker disk, which prolly also had the last virus that killed my previous hard drive.


Anyway, the main thing is that in the character planning stage, I got inspired by this: [link] . And drew out some of my characters into the big mixing pot. including some from Gaia and gave them a huge makeover.

Then comes the fun part. I actually did them on paint ukiyo-e style and almost uploaded them onto dArt.

I finally did!

And that sure was an eye opener for me.

I'd say the part that was most interesting was the costumes. And the cosplayers. Ha. 2 different objects that when put together can either create a piece of eye-candy or a horrible nightmare.

AND I DIDN'T BRING A CAMERA TO TAKE IT ALL DOWN.

Yea. People from all walks of life (almost all) came, dressed as normal, goths, lollis, characters.... I never knew Singapore was capable of so many black and reds and metals(chains! ).

I never write cohesively and coherently, so I'll skip back to a boring report on TJC magic club's booth's success
The placing of the booth was perfect. Right next to TKG. wonderful. Cos I've got a growing grudge against them, but whatever. Personal revenge statements aside, we had the best flow of customers as the booth was placed near the stage annnnnd, 4/5 of the L tshirts were sold. ~wertkh32 snagged the last one and made a total of 8 bucks. whoopee.

ALSO!
some fantastic cosplayers (and costumes!!!) included the VERY CLOSE TO CHARACTER LOOKALIKE HAGIIIII SAMAAA
plus the DOC team whose costumes blew my brain into fangirl land.
Talking about mind blowing.... nearly halfway into the event, my brain was so giddy with glee I started having the crowd syndrome thing.
argh, there's so much to talk about but my organizational skills are that lousy that I can't mention everything! breeeeeeeeee
I'm definitely going next year! because it would be a waste of the $2 membership fee if I didn't

Tiravir and Styrwyr says HI.Because the design is sleek. pooh. Not every day you get a cute wide eyed archer who wears a funky hat and carries a bad ass cross bow. omg, I hope it is a bow. Yeah.

the bright sunny colours! they shine! dang, I'm a colour whore I am Yeah. And the detailsss!!! (although other deviations of his have even more details, but I'm saying NAY! )

Yeah. nets your attention like a old fisherman and his net. Ignoring the itty bitty sketch lines and such, this is most likely one of the more interesting works in his gallery u__u um, hopefully, no offence compositionally well laid out and swishy enough to make you go Whoa! and heh, how many turqouise stuff do you see around these days?
