So I was looking through my old writings on here, and I've decided to revamp some of them. Many of them were works in progress when I posted them, but I never went back to finish them. I think that project is long overdue.

Also, for anyone who may remember Only Half Of The Story, there was initially supposed to be a second poem clarifying what had happened. I completely forgot about this plan! When I wrote that, the whole story had not yet been revealed to me; it was not revealed until December of that year. Now that I know the whole story, I can (and will) write that second poem.

Other than that...

• I've been in France since January 21, and I'm having a blast. Classes are great, the town is great, and I'm making a nice little group of friends. I've taken so many photos, and I'm sure some of them will end up on here eventually. I just need to go through them.
• As excited as I am to be here, I'm just as excited (more excited, actually) to go home because Mark comes home from Afghanistan right around the same time as me. I get home May 20th, and he gets home in late May or early June. Just 2.5 more months. That's all that's between us now
• I've been on winter break this week. Last weekend, a friend and I went to Strasbourg. Just because. We fully took advantage of the wonderfully cheap train tickets and hotel prices, hehe. It was a great little weekend trip.
• I've been reading the Twilight series for a few months now. I'm over half-way through the 4th book...and I really don't like it. The first book was good, but it all went downhill from there. The story doesn't go anywhere. It's all very stagnant and boring. I've ranted enough on this topic in the past, but the point is that I really don't like the story anymore. However, since I'm almost done with the series, I may as well finish it.
• I think that covers all the real important (and not so important) stuff. Keep an eye out for new poems and revamps to old ones.

Things are going well overall in my life.

I suck at updating this thing.

That's mostly because I suck at submitting new deviations.

Once I start submitting more, the journal will get updated more.

I will be on vacation in a few days, so perhaps I will get artsy.

After said vacation, I'm home for a few weeks, and then, get this: I'm studying abroad in FRANCE. I'm sure I'll have some nice photos to post while I'm there.

Mark came home on the 11th from training! He'll be home until the morning of the 15th. Then, he goes back to his unit, and a few days later, they go to Afghanistan. But he got to come home!!! We hung out for the better part of yesterday, and I'll either see him today, tomorrow, or both.

I went to California August 1 - 9 for a family reunion in Thousand Oaks (near LA) and then for visiting my grandfather in San Diego. Took a few pictures that may or may not end up on here. I have to go through them and see if any of them are worthy, haha. Overall, though, it was a fantabulous trip.

I got my first real job in June! It was at a garden center, so I basically organized, watered, and took care of plants; helped customers find the right plants; swept up the place; ran the cash register; and pretty much everything else as well. We all did the same stuff, really. My last day was July 31, and I don't think I'll come back next summer. It was a good job. I mean, there are certainly worse jobs out there, but I think I want to give my body a rest and try to get a job that doesn't require me to be out in the sun all day for 5 or 6 days a week

Now, I need to start that annoying but necessary task that is packing for college. Thankfully, I'm taking a lot less stuff than I came home with in May. I just need to organize all of it. Yay? -_-

My allergies are acting up like CRAZY. It's ridiculous. They're so bad that it's almost like I have a cold, but I don't feel sick like I have a cold. It's just the allergies hating my face.

There is less and less drama in my life. It's a beautiful thing.

Aaaaand if I type anything more, it'd just be rambling. So I'd better stop here. That, and I'm hungry and need to start packing for college. Like right now.

The good thing is that he will be back in no more than 398 days (or possibly as few as 362 days). A year is a very long time, but I'm not worried about me. I know I can deal. It's him I'm worried about. However, he's an incredibly smart guy; he knows how to stay safe and still get the job done. I have faith in him.

And more than anything, I'm just so proud of him for doing this. It's something that not everyone can do, myself included. Sure, I'm scared of what the future holds, but I have to put that aside. I can't think of the "what ifs" all the time as that would make me go insane. Right now, all I can think about is how proud I am of him and how much I love him...and of how much he truly loves me.

Last night, Mark and I hung out with a few friends. Ate a late dinner, watched Clerks II, and had an overall fabulous time. And after we left and had arrived back at my place, when it was finally time for me to get out of his car, we did NOT say "good-bye." I really hate that word. It's much too final. Instead, I looked him in the eyes, smiled, and said, "See you soon." And for me, at least, this time will go by rather quickly since I'll have a lot to keep me busy: my job, books, applying for the Teacher Ed program, school in the fall, preparing for studying abroad, marching band, and so much more. Like I said, I'm not worried about me, but I'll be thinking of Mark every single day.

He did tell me that he'll try to send a quick email whenever possible to say something along the lines of "Still alive. Bye!" After all of this so far, it's great that his sense of humor is still intact.

Yes, I've actually found something worth putting up here. I've taken lots of pictures lately, but most of them aren't really good enough to be up here, in my opinion.

I've been talking to a friend online for the past hour or so, and he just told me that he had to go sleep. I was thinking, "Why in the world are you sleeping so early?" And then I realized the time difference between us: I'm currently in California for a few days, and he's in eastern Canada. Here, it's 9pm. There, it's like 1am. I so smart.

Yea. Just thought I should update as I haven't since the beginning of JANUARY. But then again, I haven't had much to mention lately. But yes, I'm here. I'm alive. No worries. Hope to have more photos up as I see fit.

The important thing is that we both still love each other and are still together. He's told me what's been going through his mind during these past few months, and I'm okay with where we are right now. Nothing is set yet, but no matter what, we love each other. And right now, that's all that matters.

I highly doubt that I'll even come close to finishing that bag over break. I've got one week left, and I haven't done a thing except for sketching out the most basic of basic plans for the design. And I wanted to read The Count of Monte Cristo as well, but I've only finished about 3 of over 100 chapters. And...I really have no excuse other than laziness.

I'm GOING to the fabric store to use those coupons. I'm GOING to eat something for lunch. I WANT to go see Mark, but at the same time, I DON'T because I've spent time with him every day this week except Wednesday. It's ironic because before, it was he who complained about spending too much time together, and now it's he who's initiating all the get-togethers. Interesting.

Then again, I also don't want to work on that bag. Why is that, though? I was so excited about making it weeks ago. Why don't I want to make it anymore? I don't know. It IS a rather big project; perhaps I should save it for the summer. It's not like it's getting done this week anyhow.

I feel torn between two desires. And I think I know which one will win out in the end.

That's one reason for the lack of new deviations. But it's also because I haven't had any big creative ideas lately. I will be baking cupcakes on Thursday or Friday, so if they turn out to look rather artistic (which is unlikely), I might post a photo of them.

I can't promise anything, but I hope to have at least one new deviation posted during this Winter break. I really hope I can finish that bass clarinet bag before having to go back to college. I have most of the materials now, but what with all the problems that have to be dealt with, I haven't started pinning or sewing anything.

But such is life, I guess.

I'm in a very creative mood at the moment, but I don't have time to write much down; gotta go to band in about 15 minutes. Perhaps that's enough time for rough ideas...? I don't even know what I'd put down. I just want to write something.

Things are going quite well otherwise in my life. Classes are fantastic, all except math. Can we just say I pass that class and be done with it? I mean, when am I EVER going to need to know how to expand (1+x)^6 ? When am I EVER going to apply that equation to ordering a pizza (seriously, that was one of the application problems today in class)? I'm going to be a foreign language teacher, not a mathematician! Stop overcomplicating things!

XD Despite the ranting above, I really am quite giddy today. I downed 1.5 glasses of Mt. Dew at lunch, and they had very tasty things to eat today. And French class was thoroughly entertaining. It just was. And next is band. As long as I get to play my bass clarinet once today, I'll be happy. I forgot just how much it hurts the mouth to only play a soprano clarinet for 2 straight hours...

Haha I see that my creative mindset is only creating rambling, so I think I'll end it here. Sorry that I lack any new deviations. I've been rather busy with classes lately. Updates will come soon, though!

Lots has happened. I'm back at school now, and things are going wonderfully thus far, including a few unexpected surprises here and there. My room is nearly completely organized, and it looks fantastic either way. MY LOFT IS PURPLE, AND MY LADDER IS GREEN WITH SHAG CARPETING ON THE STEPS. Uh huh. Yea, that's right.

My dark situation has suddenly taken a sharp turn for the...better. It's still quite sticky, but there's much hope now for things to right themselves. So yay for that.

I have some brand-new photos to put up here, but they're not yet on the computer. That will change soon, possibly even this week sometime. Who knows? Either way, new stuff is coming.

Change is very exciting at times. For me, this is one of those times. New classes, new people, new experiences, new thoughts on old problems, new insights, new books, new teachers, new classrooms, new loft, new pet (we have a fish now! His name is Neville), new everything. And I plan on meeting it all head on and at full force.

On a happier note, I made 24 cupcakes today. 12 are just chocolate, 4 have peppermint extract in the batter, and 8 have peppermint extract and melted candy cane chunks in the batter. And I got nonpareils, colored sugar, colored icing, aaaaand buttercream frosting! And they all came out wonderful! This is the beginning of a very bakerific summer ^^

I am going to do something tomorrow. Whether it is clean my room or go out and excercise or hang out with friends or whatever, I am doing something tomorrow that isn't just sitting here at the computer. I'm getting a bit bored with that.

And I just took a ton of pictures today of my dogs in the backyard. Don't know if any are going to show up on here, but we shall see. There is a whole raspberry pie just sitting in the fridge right now, but I can't partake of it until my stomach calms down a bit. So I've been snacking on these McVitie's for a while. The name sounds gross, I know, but they're just British, wheatmeal biscuts (doesn't sound much tastier, does it?). Trust me, though; they're absolutely delicious. And they're British! Seriously.

All right, now I'm just rambling, so I guess I'll be cutting it here. Hmm, I just thought...perhaps I should make something for my mom for Mother's Day instead of just buying something. I mean, she'd love some flowers, but maybe I could make something, too? I'll think of something.

Like I said earlier, major changes have been taking place in my life, and everything is just now settling into place. I've given this months of serious thought, but the time has definitely come. I've changed my major to French Teaching. There are many reasons for this choice, one being that I honestly think that I'm better suited for a linguistics career than a music career.

I'll still be in marching band and concert band and such, so I won't be totally cut off from music. It'll still be a big part of my life (I would probably die if I didn't have something to do with music), but I just won't be making it my career. That's all.

So yea, that's the story. I think I'm gonna go try to do some studying or practicing (or just take a nap; I'm pretty tired).

Wrote a new poem the other day. It's thoroughly not done yet, but I'll keep working on it. I've been feeling a bit creative lately. I just hope the mood sticks for a little while.

Man, school is over in less than a month. I've got juries coming up. I hope the sign-up gets posted soon. I'd like to get a good time this semester and avoid the chaos that happened 1st semester; I signed up for a time that my piano collaborator couldn't make, and I nearly didn't find a time that worked for everyone. Eventually, the faculty allowed us to perform at the end of their lunch hour just before the first jury after lunch.

I still need to photograph that one tree. And "The Dead Poets Society" was actually on the other day! That made me happy

I'd better get to practicing. I have a Group Piano quiz tomorrow and a clarinet lesson on Friday...hehe...

Today was a good day. A lot of happy things occurred. Interesting events in classes, eating and conversing with friends, finding out that I'm actually learning things in one particular class...lots of little things here and there. Quite a good day indeed.

Not really much of an update, but I should note that the snow is somewhat melting. I may not have to wait terribly long to post the nature pics. Yay! Although, I could take pictures of the snow itself...it IS rather pretty...

I just feel so accomplished now.

Don't have any new pictures yet. I keep forgetting to take pictures of those trees and such, and now, they're all covered with snow. They're still pretty, but the snow covers up what I wanted to photograph. Ah well. It can wait.

Had a pretty good weekend. Saw a few good friends and received a belated Hanukkah present (and gave one, too, hehe). I got a t-shirt with a knight on it, and he's saying, "Ni."

Oh, actually, I DO have a photo for you! Nothing spectacularly artsy. Just a fun pic. Yep.

Hanukkah was awesome. I actually received a few gifts this year! I haven't been getting any for a while, which was fine with me. I didn't really care either way. But this year, I got a hot chocolate set; Ghirardelli chocolate bars (Peppermint Bark, specifically); something that I can't remember right now; and Being Vegetarian for DUMMIES.


California is an amazing place. End of story.

So anyway, right now, my character, Sonomi, is currently involved with another character (we just ended a thread with the two kissing ). However, over time, this guy has developed multiple personalities, and Sonomi is in love with only one of them. So right now, both characters are in a totally new scene, and the guy is showing off one of his other personalities, one that Sonomi doesn't like (and who doesn't like Sonomi).

It's so terribly exciting! There's a few other characters there, one of which is fighting another; another is trying to break up the fight; two girls are cowering on the sidelines; and Sonomi has just fainted. Haha. Seriously, if you have never been to this RPG, check it out. It's amazing, and it's only going to get better. The admin has big plans for it...

*sigh* I should be doing homework right now. And/or practicing. I will soon. I just had to update here, even though I don't actually have any new artwork. ...Yea, I'd best go do something productive. Let's see how well that turns out, hehe.

Last day of marching band tonight! Woot! And aww. I'll miss it, but it was sure a heck of a lot of work, much more work than high school, yo.

I may be taking up either Trombone or Bassoon next semester. Just because I can. I mean, I'll have to learn both eventually, but this way, I can get a head start on one of them.

So I've figured out what my next semester schedule might be. It doesn't look great, but it's not awful. Still will have 9:00 classes, and one evening class is 3 hours. 3 freakin' hours. But it's on social problems, and I enjoy that topic

I WILL update here...at some point. Still haven't asked for permission about one or two photos. But I WILL do that soon. Or when I feel like it. Heh.

What I did today:

-- Started a hot-air balloon mobile making kit. I found it at the mall for 10 bucks! And there's 10 balloons to paint! I'm excited.
-- Watched "About a Boy." Not as good as I thought it would be, but it was entertaining. "Love Actually" was INFINITELY better.
-- Picked up my new bass clarinet stand. It's so cool! Now I don't have to worry about it being on the floor when I'm not playing it during a performance!
-- And, obviously, submitted a new batch of pictures here.

What I did:

-- Went shopping in 2 or 3 towns and stocked up on necessary (and a few not-so-necessary) items.
-- Set up my new printer.
-- Chatted online with Sony Customer Support for a while in order to get an issue resolved. It hasn't been fixed yet, but I plan to telephone them tomorrow so I can physically speak with a representative.
-- Bought a new mouthpiece for my bass clarinet! And new reeds for both the soprano and bass! Yay!
-- And, here's the kicker...
-- I SUBMITTED NEW PHOTOS!!!!

So take a look if you're interested. I'm quite proud of them ^_^

I just bought a digital camera, and I finally uploaded the pictures to my computer. Since I was in such a productive mood, I thought, Hey, why not put some stuff on Deviantart? So here they are! Unfortunately, I have no idea where a particular disposable camera went, and it had some pretty awesome hot-air ballooning pictures on it. Ah well. It'll turn up someday, and when I find it, I'll put the pics up here. They were so cool! I just hope they turned out well.

So enjoy the updates! And tell me what you think. I didn't really have any artisticness in mind when taking the pictures, but after reviewing some of them, they surprised me a bit.

Lesse...what's new...I guess...nothing...except--OH! I seriously just got an awesome idea for a piece of art. But I'm not sure if I can pull it off and make it look good...Hehe. It has something to do with marching band. If I can figure it out, hopefully I'll pull it off and submit it here when it's done. There's no guarantees, tho...my skills as of this point are limited to Microsoft Paint and Adobe Illustrator (I'm still learning it...and I don't have Photoshop...but I wish I did).

Other than that, nothing new to report. I'll eventually get all that stuff submitted here, once I stop being so lazy. Which might take a while... :/ Rawr. Have you ever heard of those crazy people who go to their significant other's home, and they get in a box and pretend like they mailed themselves? You know, for their significant other's birthday or an anniversary?

I so want to do that. Because I had the most awesome idea for it. So now, I have to do it. XD

So it has this feature where it'll send messages to your friends. I was just talking to SmarterChild, and it says I had 3 messages. Two were from 6 or 7 months ago, and one was from over a year ago.

That has totally made my day.
