I received many comments that made me see that many people misunderstand the idea of a splitted DeviantART. I made further explanations at the end of the journal.

Lately I wrote an article about the recent changes on DA - Bye bye, Popularity! - not really knowing what was going on. Now :devhq: released an article about the recent site updates that sheds light upon some of my questions.

Summarized: Deviantart is using an algorithm called "Fair Exposure"to showcase the most popular art on the front page. But I suspect there is something else happening around here. I became aware of the fact that the DA popular ranking system must have changed somehow.
A lot of Traditional Art, naked butts and breasts, Artisan Crafts and mediocre misc. stuff with many views but little favourites rank high in the popular lists of the last hours and days

The Christian Democratic Union (CDU) lost their hegemony to the Green Party, OH - MY - GOD!!! :faint: This is the first time in the history of Germany that the Green Party will be the governing party and supply the Prime Minister. They will make a coalition with the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD).

I mean why go people around and talk other people's work down, particularly works that got a Daily Deviation that they don't agree with? It's one thing to say that you don't like something or to give a severe criticism, another to bitch about a work in an offensive and degrading manner. There will always always be different opinions about the question: Deserves this work a DD or not? So why is it so damn hard to just move on if you don't like what a Gallery Moderator selected?

My vacation has ended and I am back home now. I missed you - my dear DeviantART friends a lot! I had an exciting time on the Canary Islands, I visited 4 of them in 4 weeks. I just want to let you know that I will be away for a while because I am moving this weekend and I don't know when I will be back online. I had a very busy October, you know - my big birthday party (which was a great success by the way :D), arranging everything for the move above all the regular stuff. Maybe I am taking some time off and go on a spontaneous vacation tour. I just don't know when and where yet. If you know a nice warm and calm place not too far away from Germany that you can recommend to go please let me know. ;)
