I made my own special chicken thing, using the same principal as Oregano Chicken, but with a lot more spices, and all sortsa veggies. Turned into a sorta chicken stew, because i also bought some breasts (bone-in, of course) and cut them up for meat in the stew, too. The rest of the pieces are drums. It's kinda like Chicken Goula-strone, hehe. Maybe it's like Chicken Paprikas (sp?), but i wasn't looking at any recipes, and i'm not yet familiar with that Hungarian dish.

Anyway, It's a lot better than i thought it would be!

I made a rub (something i saw how to do on the Food network with Carolyn a while ago) with oregano, seasoned salt, garlic powder, basil, marjoram, paprika and pepper and rubbed it all over the chicken and let that absorb while i chopped veggies.

I diced up potatoes, carrots, yellow peppers, chopped up onions and celery and added a can of diced tomatoes. I put the veggies in one of those black roasting pots with the little white spots, which was sitting on the burner on low heat to glaze the onions and cook the veggies a little beforehand. I put some oil and lemon juice at the bottom before putting the veggies in. I threw the rest of the rub spices on the veggies that weren't able to go on the chicken, and stirred it all up, mixing them around as they were simmering.
And THEN i put the rubbed chicken on top, closed the lid and put them in at 325 for 45 minutes. Then i opened the lid and put it back for 15 more to crisp some of the chicken. Didn't really do much since more than half of each piece was submerged in the liquid of it, hehe, but it crisped some of it, and it was all cooked through even after the 45 minutes.

Half the chicken wouldn't even fit in my roaster, so i baked the rest on a cookie sheet for 45 minutes. The difference was obvious between the breasts baked in the pot and on the sheet - the breast meat IN the roaster were so moist and juicey, i could barely experience that dryness that's a trademark of breast meat. The ones on the sheet were really dry, though, so i cut those up to put in the soup. The drums turned out good on the sheet, though.

I know i used too much spice, but not enough to ruin anything - it's just really flavourful, but a little too much, but not TOO too much.

The potatoes and carrots were still a little too hard, so i put all the chicken in a plastic container and put the pot with the veggies back in the oven for another 20 minutes, and now it's perfect. The only thing missing is barley and beans, hehe.

Very tasty! Try it out!

Nothing major, just wanted to let some of you know that i have re-uploaded a few of my recent drawings where there was trouble with the lighting - either too pale in some places, or too dark in others. I usually edit out background scuffs or shadows not related to the images themselves, but these pale spots or dark spots would usually be in places i have no way of editing out without having to learn how to use a photoshop type thing - which i decidedly choose not to based on my right to say, "i just don't want to."

Anyway, here are the newly uploaded deviations in case anyone's interested. I don't have a subscription, so i can't do thumbnails, so links will have to do:

Baroness - [link]
- Her left (our right) foot and the hair on that side was too pale/washed out

Little Piggies - [link]
- The Piggy that's going Wee wee wee all the way home was way too washed out, as well as the "home"

Bon appeFEETe - [link]
- Not able to get a much better shot, but it's a little better - the face is lighter now, and the lower foot isn't quite as dark, but still wasn't able to tinker with the contrast/brightness in a way that would get rid of the shadow on the breasts and belly and ball of the lower foot.

Damn i just need to get a scanner again ...

Some newly reviewed metal bands that deserve mention:

Evile - Fuck, this band kicks the shit out of ass! So friggin' awesome. They have the energy of Slayer, but with guitar skill that far surpasses (oh, get over it, i like Slayer, too, but Evile just has a newer, more complex style), and good singing, and if i were a chick i'd do the lead singer. Just excellent music all through, and they do hit those beautiful melodic marks very well, too.
I went to the store to buy the album but they couldn't find it, so i picked up Opeth's "Still Life" and Disillusion's "Gloria."
Knowing i'd eventually buy the Evile CD anyway (i do try to support the bands i really like), i downloaded it and burnt it to disk. I found the album was as awesome as i'd hoped, except for the fact that there must have been some sort of security software on the disk the person ripped it from, as every 1:30 minutes exactly there was a short, one-second long beep over the music. It wasn't too loud, and didn't cut into the music, you could still hear it underneath, and so i wasn't too annoyed, but yah. I definitely needed to buy the disk to avoid this, haha. And so i went back to the store and bought it proudly. No more beeping, and all the enjoyment of this particularly excellent metal band.

Opeth - i'd known about these guys for a while, but the death metal type metal scrowl* which i don't really like prevented me from really persuing them.

*Scrowl - a word i just made up, combining "scream" with "growl," since metal singers don't typically sing, and the good ones don't just scream or just growl, but do a combo of both with some singing here and there.

When all your words sound like a monotonous, "Bwahh craaww yaah lwaaa pwaaa rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggghhhh!" it really defeats the purpose of communication through poetic words, and really just turns me off since it just reminds me of being a kid and lowering my voice almost to that broken-deep growl, pretending to be a scary monster. It's a technique very much like Santa Claus: something you should to grow out of.
Again, the way i review music is buy writing down titles at the music store, coming home and either downloading the albums or watching their music videos on youtube to sample them. I choose which ones i really like and save up to buy the albums, while in the meantime i have them to listen to before that, too. I will always buy the albums that i really like.
So, I randomly burnt off "Damnation" first. Of course it would have to be the only all-soft, acoustic album, which i may listen to one day when i'm on a mellow high. It's still beautiful, but i'm in the mood for the good heavy stuff. Then i burnt off "Deliverance," which is damn excellent. And so i bought "Still Life."
Again, there's the Death Metal type singing, but it's almost like Vader's - it actually has emotion behind it, humanity behind it. There's a lot of soft beautiful guitar stuff between the heavy, too, and this guy can actually sing. His voice may seem a little coarse at first, but keep listening and you'll find he's almost as skilled in range and note-change as the band's lead guitarist (which could be the singer himself, i'm not sure). And it's not a pretentious sounding voice, for the most part (well, it takes a little pretentiou...

If you've paid your damage deposit, can your landlord charge you again for any damages that have occurred in the apartment?
That's what a damage (and pet) deposit is for (some carpet was pulled up at the front door by the dog, and then the cat, but not much), isn't it?

Is that legal for him to charge us even if he has the damage deposit?
As far as i've known, a damage deposit covers all damages and we don't get it back when we move out if there are damages.

Does anyone know any useful info about this? Particularly Canadian law, but i doubt it would be very different from US law - if anyone has any advice.

The landlord showed up for "inspections" and wrote us up for the damage and being "untidy". Does he even have a say in whether we are clean or not? I try to be, but Sarah's not exactly the tidiest person, and it's hard keeping up, especially since i have a 6-day work week i'm in the middle of, but really - what does he care, and what right does he have to care?

If none of you have any info, are there any websites that you may be able to point me to? I am terrible at reading fine-print legal jargon - my mind just goes into automatic and my eyes glaze over and i don't even remember what i just read (no this was a problem for me way before i even started smoking weed - it's why i never finished reading any of the books school assigned for us, until i started enjoying books) so i either need someone to give me a straightforward response in english, or send me somewhere that has the info outside of a legal-jargon format.

And our landlord is a known scamming dick - he sold Sarah's ex'roommate's blind brother a house with a huge hole in the ceiling. Yah. Not sure why the brother didn't have someone with him to look at the place, but still.

Though i like this apartment, if they're gonna stick us for trumped up charges that our damage AND pet deposit should cover, and for being "untidy", then i think Sarah's moving out thing might be a good idea.

She's been trying to get us to move AGAIN to this other place - a basement suite apparently bigger than this apartment - which i doubt - but the rent is shared with the guy who lives upstairs, thus lower $$$, and free laundry, shared utilities, etc... Plus it's an actual house with a backyard for Milo to play in.

It's all in all a way better deal - but fucking moving? AGAIN?!?! We had enough headache moving last time, plus my entire move from St. John's just more than a year ago. And this time my stuff isn't all in boxes still like it had been waiting for me from the St. John's move, making the recent move to this apartment easier than it could have been.

Oy. Just one pain in the ass after the other.

And i'm still waiting for my box of sketchbooks, etc... from the states.

This is taken right from a Fable 2 game forum at gamefaqs.com where someone posted about having a family and kids in the game.
Here's my post:

Yah, i tried out a couple marriages - they get needy way too fast, like friggin' Sims. All i wanna do is explore, but then i get the "come home" icon 5 minutes after i'd just visited, and just left for adventure, and then every 5 minutes after that:
"Yes dear, yes, you want to give me another useless gift, i'll visit after this adventure."
*adventure adventure adventure*
"Honey i'm ho- oh, you're leaving me? After 2 days. Seriously? Well, **** off then, i don't need anybody this whiny and needy in the first place - why don't you join me in battle some time, then we can talk!"

Wouldn't that be awesome - if your spouse was also interested in adventuring? Now that would have made an awesome game element! Fight alongside each other in the field, get worked up and screw after battle! [Note: in the game you can have sex - you can even have orgies if you want, just invite several people back to your place who are willing and choose the option at your bed - but all you get are the vocals over a black screen] A true love would be interested in the same things you are anyway, right? And you can raise some toy-sword wielding kids to add to your dog's effectiveness in killing downed foes and finding treasure (and just to be cute, sometimes the treasure should be a worm or a bug or a clod of mud of some sort - you know kids).
Otherwise the whole family thing is just too annoying!

Same with jobs - i play this game to get AWAY from work, i don't wanna sit there chopping wood! But that's the choice they gave us. Some people like to escape from work and family by playing games about raising a family and going to work! Not me.

Anyone else think this game could have also been called "The Sims: Fantasy Adventure"?

--------

That was my post. Any Fable 2 fans in my watch list? I've just reached Bloodstone and am checking out the side-quests before going to find Reaver. I certainly hope there's some form of Lime Green dye in this game. My character is dressed and coloured yellow and black, like a bee, hehe. But it would be ever so much more awesome if i could do Lime Green and Purple!

If you want to laugh in beautiful joy one minute, bawl with sadness the next minute, laugh with hope, bawl with despair, laugh AND bawl with sweet revenge and happy resolution - watch the movie Up.

Goddamn, that one tugged my heart in all directions.

It's so genuinely innocent and happy, so genuinely personal and sad, cute and inspirational, funny as hell and satisfying all the way through.

It's a lot more grown-up than it apears to be, centering around the life of a boy in love with exploration and adventure who randomly runs into a girl who's in love with the same exploration and adventure, sharing a childhood idol. The movie then flashes forward to them in love and i won't spoil much else, but eventually he gets old and meets a kid and yah, balloons on the house.

It's so hard not to spoil it, because if i don't you won't understand how much better it is than the commercials show. It's more than just "Pwetty colours bawoons! Oooh!"

Just a deep, very emotional beautiful story with lots of fun and satisfying conclusions to the plot threads that make you want to cry in happiness and remembrance.

And though it seems to demonize "most" dogs except for the main one, the dogs still were hilarious, and in the end it showed the true nature of dogs anyway, so it's ok.

Another problem i had with the movie was that the old man who seems about 80 years old gets to meet his childhood hero, who was easily 20-30 years older than he was (as was shown when he was a little kid of about 8 watching a movie about the explorer hero, who looked 20-30 years old, and who went away in his blimp never to be seen again).

Yah!

If you think the age difference wasn't enough, he even seemed younger and more spry than the old man. So, this 100-110 year old, who looks 60-70yrs old, was this old man's childhood hero?

They don't explain why, there's no "magic" in the movie, or anything supernatural, so it's not like he found a fountain of youth. And if he did the movie never mentions it.

But it's a minor detail and doesn't detract from the story as much as i make it sound.

Either way, if you're a sucker for a really good story that really pulls you into the characters and fun and sadness and grief and happiness and satisfying resolutions and conclusions, go see "Up."

Just make sure you have a fresh box of kleenex with you.

Was the GI Joe movie so bad that it's already released on video?
I mean Star Trek is just finally being advertised as going to DVD, not sure when Terminator's coming (or it might already be...), and Transformers 2 took forever, but that was released around the same time as Terminator and Star Trek, and long before GI Joe, and yet GI Joe is put to video already!

I haven't seen it, i was never a fan of GI Joe as a kid of the 80s, and so I won't go out of my way to try and see it. He-Man, Bravestarr, and the Ninja Turtles were way better. In cartoon form, in my nostalgic opinion, i mean. Well, Ninja Turtles had 1 great movie, 1 ok movie and one crappy one.

But i'm just curious. You don't usually see movies going to video so quickly unless they suck. So, did it suck, or was it pretty good, or was it passably entertaining, but not very interesting?

If you want to see a pretty good creepy movie, try Splinter. We just got it and it was pretty creepy and not too bad. I'm not sure if it's him, but the younger guy from that Joey show (the Friends spin-off with Joey), the geeky kinda guy that girls like my ex, Carolyn, found quite cute - i'm still not sure on this - is the movie. Pretty well acted, good quality effects, unlike some other movies...

Sarah's been picking up really cheap used horror movies from the Roger's video place near my work - half of them are really crappy, like bad college projects, and some are actually quite good. Splinter was one of the good ones. Not sure if that was a big title, i hadn't heard of it, but i haven't heard of a lot of the movies that have been out in the last few years.

You want a really bad movie? Find "Dead Noon" about 2 rival cowboys's spirits that enter present-day men, and it's really shot like a bad college video project. Another is "Swarm" ... basically "Killer Ants on a Plane." The acting and dialogue in a lot of these were enough to make me laugh out loud!

"Fleet Foxes" are the perfect breather band to listen to between a lot of heavy metal music. They sound like a fresh adventure through a dewy forest, it's the only way i can describe them. But they're a folk-ish band, but similar to The Shins and Jeff Buckley, a little. Beautiful, haunting, soft melodies and haunting, yet peaceful vocals. It's so peaceful and enjoyable. I urge others to check out Fleet Foxes.

And Burst is a brilliant metal band, i almost consider them "The Mars Volta" of heavy metal music - Musically, that is, the singer doesn't sound like a eunuch like that of Mars Volta (no offense, but The Mars Volta's singer is really high-pitched! Good thing he knows how to sing well). But i am not entirely taken by Burst's singing, either, but it's not bad. The music definitely kicks ass, though, and the singing is mostly good, sometimes annoying. True musical talent.

I wish i could think of things to draw and actually WANT to draw again ... There are ideas and i'm way behind on requests ... but i just don't have as much spirit left for it right now. I hope i'll get some inspiration back in the near future. Perhaps it was all the pot i was doing. Too lazy to even pick up the pencil and sketchbook. I'm trying to cut down now. I should stop buying and only do it if offered by a friend, and i don't hang out with friends very often. Or just buy a tiny amount at a time so my natural reaction is to not use it unless it's a special occassion. Like how when i get near the end of a video game, i stop playing it in order to extend it's life, to know i still have that story in the background if i want to ever go back to it and beat it.

Anyway, one of my friends gave me the idea of how to disguise the weed scent - take a finished toilet paper roll, stuff some dryer sheets in it, and blow the smoke out through the dryer sheets. Works pretty good!
But, see, i can noe see the brown colour that the dryer sheets change to, and think of my lungs.

One of the chief reasons i'm anti-tobacco smoking.

A little brain-delight shouldn't be taken to the distance of destroying another organ to get it.

Stolen'd from *SSPirate

1. Who is your oldest surviving character, and what date were they created?

Depends on what you mean by "Surviving", heh ... I suppose Morothca has been the only real character that i've drawn in recent years that i created back when i was 11 or 12 (1991, or 92), but a lot of my characters still survive in my mind, like the hero Carthus (created before Morothca, but part of the same fantasy universe), and Baby Chu Chu, who i created with my brother when i was somewhere between 10-12 (90-92). They still exist in my mind more than any of my other characters. I would like to resurrect Rayzor (closer to 14-15, 94-95) in my new style, though ...

2. Since you created them, how have they changed?

Morothca got fatter and sexier! Haha. I also gave her a hint of a background story of being an abused girl in life until she realized her power, or was killed and the shear will of her anger and pain resurrected her and she got power. I'm still hazy on that. Other than that, she's still the violentest most bloodthirsty, yet thoughtful demon sorceress she ever was.
I haven't written or drawn Carthus since about 94 or 95, nor Chu Chu.

3. Which of your characters has changed the most since you created them? Describe how they have changed.

It's hard to say, beyond what i answered in question 2. I don't tend to stick with characters as often as just drawing random BBW in different cute/funny/sexy situations anymore. Back in the day i used to create all sorts of characters: super heroes (had a whole ton of them!), demons (AH! How could i forget Lux Ultimo?!? But he hasn't changed at all), cartoons, and stuff, until i got into my BBW phase.

4. And which character has changed the least?

Beyond getting fatter (if they're female) none of my characters have really changed at all.
Well, there is Axle ... the hooker i created during my puberty years who was the girlfriend of Baby Chu Chu's older brother Will. She started out looking like a really skanky whore with a ratty shoulder-padded leather jacket (Oh, the 80s-90s with their shoulder-pad jackets) that was always open to show her boobs, some ripped fishnet leggings that didn't cover her feet, and a g-string where the string reaches to the front, too - perhaps she didn't even have a g-string when i first drew her, i think she wore nothing there - and the worst 80s spiky mullet you could ever imagine! Soon she lost the jacket and leggings and spikey-mullet and i started drawing her with really long, thick hair, a little more shapely, and with that g-string. Then i played Earthworm Jim and had a game magazine with a big picture of Princess What'sHerName, and then i went through a period of time when all my women looked like her, shape and face and all, just different clothes. And so Axle looked like her, and just became completely nude. But most of these changes happened back in the 93-96 era (13 to 16 years old), and technically she's not a "surviving" character.
Perhaps i should re-draw her in my current style through her different looks, and maybe scan in some of the older ones too for comparison, maybe do another timeline collage like i did with Morothca...
She had a group of hooker friends that got together with my brother's group of hooker friends, haha. We even wrote journals from the perspective of the "Lead Hooker" of each "club" (Axle for me, Boom-Boom for my brother) of their sexual exploits. It's really very funny and pathetic and i look back at this era and cringe a little, but mostly i just laugh.
Boy artists will be boy artists.
Every single boy artist (for sure - not sure about girl artists as i am not one) has his collection of porn-drawings that he believes he should hide to death. For the most part, they SHOULD be hidden, but sometimes the good ones deserve viewing!
But we're always afraid of being considered creepy pervs, cuz we're already unpopular or unable to socialize in regular ways (mostly, i assume, otherwise we wouldn't be artists) - if only we'd been told when we were young that girls are just as pervy as us. Maybe at a lower rate, but maybe not...
We're just brought up with north american TV in which all "hot" women have nothing in common with their fat or ugly husbands and hate the idea of having sex with them, and thus us young boys grow up to think all women hate sex.
That is until we see all the sluts dancing around pretending to be singers (i have nothing against women who are sexy and like sex and are singers - Bjork is amazingly sexual and makes beautiful, and sometimes sexy music [Possibly Maybe] - jus...

I swear, a boss only wants you to get your sick, "can't-even-get-out-of-bed" body to go out and get a doctor's note just so they can catch you out on the town and say, "Hey, you're out walking around, you're not sick, you could have come into work!"

This hasn't happened to me, but i imagine it happening. Either way, i've been floored the last few days, sick with who-knows-what (entire body aches, cough, nose running like a fire hose, headaches, no sore throat, though, and i can't seem to eat anything, but have been drinking as much lemonade as possible - i assume it has the same Vitamin C that orange juice has, if not more), but other people are calling in sick, too. So he's pissed off.

This anger would be justified if everyone who's been calling in sick this year has been faking. But that's the thing - everyone who's called in sick this year has been legitimately sick. No drunken hang-over calls, no "just wanna skip work" calls, nothing.

So he says i gotta go get a doctor's note or he won't give me any shifts next week. Though a holiday like that would be quite lovely, money is still required for living. bvv c c c c c c c c c c c c c ... sorry, hehe, that was Skittles the new kitty jumpin' on the keyboard.

Luckily i'm feeling a bit better today (but still shitty) and Sarah got her dad to drive us to a walk-in clinic so i can get a damned doctor's note.

Ya happy now?!?!

Jeepers Cripes!

Anyhoo, i can't really complain, cuz i had 2 days off in a row, then one work day, and then 2 more days off, and now today i get to call in sick, and so i got my little holiday sorta anyway.

Wish i could eat, though. My stomach keeps telling me i'm hungry, but when i try to eat something, i can only have a few bites before i start feeling nauseous. Even cereal. But i don't throw up or anything. Yet i have to poo quite frequently (i get the feeling every hour or 2) for not eating anything...

Hey, this is a little list i made of Metal Bands that i've done some research on - ie, going to the store, writing down some random titles, downloading said titles, and listening to see if i like'em.
I know, i'm a dork. I do this for video games, too. It helps when there are so many titles and i can't remember if i've tested this one or that one before. If you wanna see that list too, let me know. I can post it, but it's much much longer.

Anyhoo, i'm posting this because i want some input, give me some other heavy metal band names that i haven't listed to test out, comment, agree, disagree, whatever. Remember this is all just my opinion, and i am not dictating to anyone what they should or shouldn't like. Except for ac/dc - everybody should hate them, but for some reason people don't, and i'll never understand why.

I created my own legend for my ratings, which is first laid out:

-------------------------

Metal Bands List

* Fucking Awesome, Beautiful, Exciting, Powerful Metal - BUY!
+ Good - Try to Get
o Kinda good - Download/Burn
/ Not Bad, but Kinda Boring/Not Exciting/Too Commercial
~ Good Music, Bad Singing
x Bad/Horrible/Intolerable Voice/Boring Music - AVOID!!
- Not Yet Reviewed
# Already own/Have owned Album(s)

-------------------------

The Best:

#* Atheist
#* Austrian Death Machine (Arnie quotes parody band, but damn good metal)
* Burst (need to buy me an album of theirs)
#* Devildriver
#+ Down
#+ Fear Factory
o Flotsam and Jetsam
+ Keep of Kalessin
#* Machine Head
#+ Pantera
#+ Sepultura (Arise and Roots only, maybe later stuff)
o Vader (later albums-listen 4 short time)

--------------------------

The Full List:

x AC/DC
x Agnostic Front
#* Austrian Death Machine
#*~ Atheist (voice takes getting used to)
/ Atomic Bitchwax
x Avantasia
- Baroness (still downloading, haven't been able to listen to a good chunk yet)
~ Black Dahlia Murder
* Burst
x Death Star
#* Devildriver
x Dimmu Borgir
#+ Down
x Eyehategod
#+ Fear Factory
o Flotsam and Jetsam
x Girlschool
~ God Dethroned
/ Godsmack
/ High on Fire (2007 album "Death is this communion," the rest isn't good)
+ Keep of Kalessin
/ Lordi
#* Machine Head
x Mastodon
#x Meshuggah
/ Metallica
x Moonsorrow
/ Mushroomhead
~ Napalm Death
~ Nile
#+ Pantera
/ Rammstein
x Rotting Christ
x Satan
#+ Sepultura
/ Sirenia (Female singer, not bad, kinda like The Gathering, not as good singer)
+ Soulfly (after 2002)
#+ Superjoint Ritual
~ Sworn Enemy
/ Tool
x Unholy
o~ Vader (later albums-listen 4 short time, voice takes getting used to)
x Vatican Chainsaw Massacre
x Venom
#+ White Zombie
/ Zozobra

--------------------------

So yah, give me some more titles, or whatever. Maybe make your own lists and let me know!
There are so many more titles at the record store, i can't write'em all down! Well, eventually with enough trips and enough time spent trying to download samples, i suppose i could, but short-cuts are appreciated, too!

It seems i enjoy "progressive" metal most, which i've heard "Atheist" referred to, where they have so many changes in a single song as to be confusing, beautiful, entrancing and just fucking brilliant, and you wonder how they remember which parts go into which songs, if they forget and start playing something from another song in this one from time to time...
Well ... *I* wonder that... But i love it. It's why i love newer Machine Head and Devildriver so much, too!

Oh, Austrian Death Machine has a new album, "Double Brutal!" Just as good as the first album, with a second disc full of covers from movie soundtracks of songs speaking to Arnie's characters in them.

Oh, and here's some useless info: The name of the band "Keep of Kalessin" has special meaning to me: Kalessin is the name of one of the dragons in one of my favourite book series' by Ursula K. LeGuin, the Earthsea series. I mean, i've heard of bands named after Tolkien mythology (Amon Amarth - which should be on this list with a ~ symbol), but not from a lesser known (but brilliant) author such as LeGuin! That was so awesome, she's one of my absolute favourites! And the band is decent, too!
Now i can't wait for a band to take something from Glen Cook's novels. Something ... ANYTHING! I always thought "Soulcatcher" was a good name (an awesome character in his Black Company novels), or One-Eye (a funny character in the sa...

Finally a worthy journal topic! But don't forget to read the previous one, either!

Anyway, you guys remember my drawing called "Models"?
Here's the link: [link]
(since i don't have the Thumbs ability at the moment)

I keep getting a lot of the same comment, but this time i finally had the words to answer, and i thought they would be helpful to let people understand my point of view, and to have a more honest view of the role of the issue of
Beauty today.

And i do understand why i get this kind of comment, because sometimes i'm not absolutely clear on my message, and people not already involved with the wonderful world of BBW don't seem to grasp what i'm trying to say.

Anyway, the latest angry comment was:
"I'm not fat even eating a lot, does that means that I'm not natural? Wtf."

And, without further ado, here's my response:

"Did anything about that thin woman i drew in this picture look natural?
That's what i fight. Natural body sizes i have no problems with. Beauty is in natural sizes, not in extremes of either size. Being yourself, being healthy, and not caring how much you weigh is the goal i fight for. There are plenty of healthy big girls, as many as healthy thin girls, and just as many unhealthy in each case as well. Weight plays little to no part in it, to a certain point. Once you start gaining or losing beyond a certain point, then it becomes a health problem that must be addressed.

Now, i personally prefer the larger sizes, but that's just my opinion and i am a single man out of 3 billion, each with our own sets of beauty preferences (ideally, at least - too many people have their preferences fed to them and don't even think about them, which is why i draw what i draw) - so it doesn't mean all thin women are unattractive to everyone else in the world - just in most cases to me and a few others who share the same preferences as me. And my preference is only as important as anyone's taste in colours. Not something worth being offended about.

But at the same time, there are dangerous courses for both sides of the scale that we must warn people against.

The big lady in the picture isn't big enough for worry (my ex was about that size, and i'm a thin guy who walks everywhere, but she could out-walk me - i would be winded and sore before she'd even start breathing heavy), but the thin woman in the picture is in major need of medical and psychological assistance.
The story would be the same if it was a naturally thin woman paired against a bed-ridden obese woman - i would be warning against the bed-ridden, and pointing the "Natural Woman" to the thin one. But again, i draw toward my BBW preferences, and an artist can hardly be blamed for drawing what they like to draw. Unless they are copying something and claim it as their own.

Plus, this society already knows that being bed-ridden isn't a desirable goal (except for those who enjoy those kinds of girls - but to those people who are into feeding and stuffing and whatever: you're just as bad as those who enjoy anorexic models - putting someone's life in danger just to get a hard-on is just not right). But too few little girls today understand that trying to become a bone-rack isn't a desirable goal either. So while big girls are also my preference, my goal is to help inform girls who see this image that there's nothing wrong with being overweight, as long as it's natural, and you feel healthy.

I hope you better understand the message i'm trying to convey."

That's the kinda stuff i came up with WITHOUT being high *points a thumb up to the title*. Years ago, man. I was obsessed with orange and green together, and took a few pictures of a pickle wearing an orange peel, or pushed through the middle of a peeled mandarin orange.

I made some new wrestlers in that smackdown vs. raw 2009 game that Sarah wanted me to buy. I suppose i should have posted a few of the others before saying i made more, hah. I even made a Me this time. But yah, they're really weird and awesome. Maybe i'll take some photos and upload them. One of them is a pickle wearing an orange peel jacket.

I also made a Perfect Strangers themed drawing. Who doesn't love Balki and Larry? Well, who doesn't love Balki? But them as a team are just really funny, until they get into the last few seasons when they move into that castle house.
Though to be fair, there's a house on a street near my parents' street that has what looks to be an archer's turret - even has the tall, slim "window" that archers in castles used for aiming and protection.

Anyhoo, i wanted to include a really cartoony drawing of Maryanne, because let's face is, she is actually a cartoon, but then i couldn't figure out how to draw Jennifer, so i left them both out. Back then i had the hugest crush on Jennifer. Not anymore, especially since after perfect strangers she got a huge ugly boob job and did a cameo on Step By Step as a female handyman.

Suppose i should save all this for the artist's description ...

Helloooo, my name is Cousin Larry App-le-ton, how are youu? Fine.

What's sad is that all of you just think i'm high typing whatever the hell i am thinking of. While it is true i might be a little high at the moment (This quality, wooden Pipe was brought to you by Jones Factory, you may contact ~chonx to order your own! Seriously!), that was an actual line from one of the funniest episodes. In it Larry gets amnesia right before meeting Jennifer's mom for the first time (some sort of hit on the head, i think - this was an early 90s sitcom afterall), so Balki is helping him re-learn who he is, and Larry repeats after him copying his accent along with it ... thus the line above this paragraph.

Damn good metal just really feels good deep inside. Machine Head, Sanctity, Devil Driver, Atheist, Sepultura, Slayer, Austrian Death Machine.

Just right now i'm listening to "A Farewell to Arms" by Machine Head - beautiful and heavy-pounding, melodic and powerful, sad, and angry, and hopeful all in one song ... Download it now, i order you. The album it's on is called "The Blackening".

Sarah just bought me that motion comic-book Watchmen DVD. Can't wait to watch it! I'm not sure if i'd rather watch it play out on a TV, or read it in the graphic novel itself... but this is probably the only way i'm gonna get my hands on it. It was in the discount bin, for shame.

I cannot describe how awesome i thought the movie was. I never knew the comic beforehand, but just the music alone had me in tears almost the whole movie, mostly for personal reasons, but sometimes for just being absolutely fitting - like The Sound of Silence for the funeral scene and some various character-history scenes. The Times They are a-Changin' playing during that brilliant opening credit montage ("We need a montAAAAAAAAAAge....") was just heartbreaking and perfect.

And now, like Lord of the Rings and its hoards of new "fans because of the movie", i too will see what the source-material is all about and see if i enjoy it. I enjoyed the LOTR books, and read them at least once every couple of years (once a year when i was at the call center - i don't read as much without regulated breaks), and i'd say that's more than just a fan trend at that point.

If Glen Cook doesn't come out with the next Tyranny of the Night or Black Company book by the time i've finished re-reading the first 2 books of the Tyranny series, i'm gonna start up the Silmarillion again.

I'm just afraid that since i've read The Maxx (well read part of it, watched all of the show) that i will not be quite as impressed with Watchmen as the comic, or motion-comic. The Maxx kinda spoils you for comics that don't have its unique quirkiness that no other comic has been able to duplicate. Plus, the colours of the Watchmen comic don't really appeal to me. But no matter - colours in comics don't make the comic good or bad.

I also just bought the Watchmen two-part game for the xbox, and goddamn the graphics are so friggin' amazing. I've only played part of it, but the faint shine of the rain reflecting off the folds on the back of Rorschach's (sp?) jacket is enough to just stand back in awe, much less the rainy environment itself! The game is just a basic beat-em up, h...

And i think it's my best batch yet.
See, when my parents were in Hungary a few weeks ago, they said it was served more like a soup than a meaty sauce to put over noodles, so i made it with that in mind, and didn't bother with thickening the liquid.
In fact i added MORE broth, and more spices to the pork loin meat (because Sarah doesn't like beef - weirdo), and put it on top of the nokedli/spatzle in a bowl and goddamn, it was awesome!
This place still smells like it. But i did just warm some up a few hours ago and ate it ...
The recipe i got from an old Hungarian cookbook my mom has from which i photocopied a few pages of things i wanted to try out.
Added a bit of my own flair with some proportions and some different spices. The book only calls for paprika, salt, pepper and marjoram - well, i can't just stop at that, i added oregano, thyme, basil, and a little extra pepper than what's in the recipe (but not too much - i like a little pepper burn, but not a lot). I considered a little curry, but ... i don't know, i'm not ready to take that step with this recipe yet.

After making Goulash and Minestrone, i get to thinking most European cooking is just throwing everything you got into a pot and seeing what happens, hehe. They're basically mostly the same, only with paprika and meat being the main difference (and some proportions). I put basically all the same veggies into them both - canned diced tomatoes, yellow peppers, celery, carrot, garlic - goulash uses onions, and minestrone uses leeks, but they could be interchangeable, goulash has potatoes where minestrone does not - i could have added zucchini to the goulash, too, but didn't feel like it. Also they both use beef broth. Or chicken, whatever, meat broth. Or veggie broth if you want. Minestrone has more focus on the tomatoes and veggies, though.

But yah. Don't you hate the countdown clock in your head when you have roughly 40-20 minutes left before work, and you keep looking at a real clock to see if you can squeeze in a little bit of a nap, or a session in a game that usually takes 10-15 minutes? (Saints Row 2, Strong Arm anyone?)
Right now i have about 15 minutes before i have to start getting dressed and ready - then about another 15 before i absolutely need to leave the apartment or i'll be late. Grrr.

But yummy goulash, yay!! I was thinking of bringing some in for my co-workers (i brought in minestrone for them the last 2 times i made it, and they loved it) - but spatzle recipes don't really make a lot of spatzle, and i am quite frugal. It's bad enough the amount i had to give up for my mom and dad, jeeeeez. Haha, i'm not that cheezed off about that, but you know.

Fleet Foxes - beautiful music, go check'em out. They're like a peaceful, yet exciting adventure through a forest. That's the best way i can describe it. Kind of like a cross between The Shins and Jeff Buckley, but with a nature vibe to it somehow. Well, most of their songs are about nature in some way or another...

(If this entry has a case of the Single-Letters it's because my computer completely crashed, and Sarah's computer for some reason doesn't acknowledge double letters if hit immediately after, and i'm tired of waiting a second for each word that has'em, so don't shoot me)

So, we just spent all yesterday throwing up and laying around. From some time in the morning (11, maybe?) to about 9pm for me. Not sure why, but our friend we hung out with the night before was sick, too, and i even heard the upstairs neighbor throwing up in the bathrom above mine. Not fun. I'm feling beter but stil not quite ready to eat. I was able to cal into work sick yesterday, so that was a huge relief. I definitely would not have ben able to close last night. Now we just have diarrhea, which we consider a blesing compared to the throwing up - but it confuses me, too - if i haven't eaten anything, what am i poopin' out?

And now it's time for, "You Know You're a Dork When..."
You know you're a dork when you vomit up bile (the yellow stuff that comes out when you have no more food in your stomach) and you think to yourself, "Hey, this is the stuff that breaks down the lipids (fats/oils) in our stomachs! Good ol' bilirubin!"

My biology teacher in high school wanted to name a son William Rubin just so he could be called Billy Rubin for short - now THAT's a dork! Fortunately he had all daughters.

And yah, my computer crashed. It doesn't even load windows anymore. It has the waiting scren with the uninformative wait bar that just goes without telling you anything about the progres of it, but then it goes black.
See, it's ben doing this thing where it shuts itself down and then when it restarts itself the fan goes into overdrive and it sounds like an airplane trying to take off - vibrates the entire desk and you can hear it from the other side of the apartment, so i just turn it off to give it a rest. I did that one more time and now it won't open windows at al. And if dad can't get the information of the hardrive, then there's gona be about a year of digital photos completely wiped out. I have a bunch of things backed up, but stil.

Oh, and that Eat Lead game i mentioned in the last entry (i think i mentioned) is fun and col, but i just can't beat the first bos. What the hel? They have it set up so the boss is on a platform far away and you have to take time and aim wel because he is standing behind a railing and ducks al the time. That wouldn't be to bad if he wasn't lobing 3 grenades at you every few seconds, but even that can be goten around - the real ass itch here is that al his henchmen respawn and shoot you while you're trying to do anything!
Then once you do finaly get the hang of that and fluke to kil the bos, he's not dead, it's just phase 2 starts in a diferent section with more henchmen and i haven't goten far enough to se even where the bos is, but he's there cuz you se the delightful grenade icons, and can hear his voice.

I hope i wil be ok tonight to close. Luckily it's a sunday so it's an earlier night (12 instead of 1 - but perhaps i can get away with 11, since we're going back to closing at 11 after laborday...)

It felt realy nice to have a shower today after yesterday. Now it's started geting chily enough (wel today it's raining, so i gues that's the reason) to be able to have a hot shower again.

I drew a chubby Princes Fiona (Shrek's hot green wife), but it fels incomplete. Mainly because i don't know enough about those movies realy to ad anything else. She's just standing naked as if loking to jump into this nasty swamp/lava water, but that's it . i fel like i should ad something else, but i don't know what. Perhaps Donkey's head peeping out of the swamp at her - but then i'd have to study how to draw Donkey's head. Then i have to figure out how to get it onto Sarah's computer, download a program to eliminate smudges and paper shadows and upload here.
It's not colored, and the swampy thing is very cheaply drawn, so it's not amazing, but i'm hapy with Fiona herself.

"Stray bullet, from the barrel of love
Stray bullet, from the heavens above
Stray bullet, ready or not,
I'm the illegitimate *POW POW* son of god!"

Sorry, that song is playing on my xbox right now. KMFDM's "Stray Bullet". Very catchy.

Life is pretty good at the moment.
We're house-sitting for my parents while they visit their home country, Hungary for 2 weeks beginning the sunday before last. It was a once in a life-time opportunity that Nanny (dad's mom) really wanted to go before it was "too late", and is paying Dad's way, so obviously dad wants to invite mom, but her and dad are going to split that, so it's not a bad deal. They've wanted to go visit for a long time, since mom was 3 and dad was 1.
But yah, so we're taking care of the house and Max.
It's nice having the car.
It's nice having cable.
It's nice not having to worry about noise levels.
It's nice having a basement to retreat to when it gets really hot.
It's nice having the big big screen tv when i play Xbox 360 (although my new tv is bigger than i'm used to having, and smaller than my parents' tv, it's just perfect for us).

Yup, still been playing Saints Row 2 in the online multiplayer option. It's really fun: you can either choose to play in a game of killing each other for a time period (how boring), or this category called "Strong Arm." It's a bunch of different in-game tasks, you do 4 in one session in a randomly selected order (out of about 10) that are worked into multiplayer, like:
- Insurance Fraud, where you purposely fall in front of cars to get injured for the insurance money. I'm really good at this one, it's my favourite (there's a button you press to fall specifically for insurance fraud money, so it's not as hard as it sounds).
- Demolition Derby, where you just drive around and try to have as many head-on collisions for money, or full-destruction of the other vehicle for an automatic $1000 (motorbikes are a goldmine!) The only problem is sometimes if there's lag or someone's not connecting as well as the rest (like yourself?) the place will be a dead zone, there will be no civilian cars. Sometimes you'll see mirages of headlights, you can even see the ghost of a car way across town, but as soon as you get closer they all disappear, and so you can't get no money! And don't bother looking for your opponents' teammates cars to crash into or your own teammates cars - you only get about $50 for crashing into an opponent (you average around $200 for CPU cars per hit), and nothing for crashing into your teammate's car. Or if you DO make a bunch of successful hits, sometimes the lag won't count them, or the car you're in seems not to hit the other cars in a way that gives you money, which is quite frustrating when you're only like $50 behind your opponents, and you have 15 seconds left. But it's really fun when it works, and i rack up a LOT of money!
- Snatch, where you have to go around, kill a pimp to steal his ho, then drive her around to gain $50 a second, or take her to a client and make $2000. Then kill another pimp to steal another ho over and over until time runs out. Most money wins.
- Theft, where you have these objects marked on the map that you have to pick up and deliver to a "fence" man. In some levels this one is really tedious and annoying, where the theft items are on the roofs of the buildings, or inside a big warehouse with only one ladder up and down to where the item is.
- Mayhem, where you go to a designated area and destroy anything breakable, by shooting or mowing it all down with a vehicle. Sometimes certain types of vehicles (marked with a big red arrow mark) will get you extra cash if you destroy them within the designated area. It's pretty sweet, but again, some are annoying and force you inside where there's not that much to break and earn money from.

Can't remember any more, stop cheering so loudly.

{: oþ

(will my old classic emoticon work here without the text software warping it into an image-based emoticon? *clicks preview* It stays untouched!! Yayyy!)

Another game i picked up is "Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard" which is another of those awesome-story, somewhat-clunky-gameplay parody games that are hilarious to watch and listen to, but slightly annoying to play, but not so horrible it makes you wanna stop - like The Bard's Tale. And somewhat No More Heroes, but i don't think i was annoyed by the game mechanics as often as most parody games.
This guy's a Duke Nuke'em type that started in the small sprite world, then the SNES era sprite world, then the Doom era, the Quake Era, and then the 360 era who had as many games as Mario that have nothing to do with his regular games, but fell out of popularity and yet was just hired to star in a brand new game. The problem is *((SPOILER ITALICS ACTIVATE!))*his role in the game is to be the hero that is killed and replaced in the first level by the games real intended hero - who they haven't introduced yet. *((SPOILER ITALICS DEACTIVATE!!))* So yah, someone's trying...

Ok, so Sarah has some points account with the Rogers' Video Rental store and has $10 free, so she looks in the movie section and sees it.

"Kinky Killers" Sounds cheesily fun, perhaps might make us "randy" (i never liked that word - would just make me think of the middle kid from Tim Allen's Home Improvement, "JTT" *little girls swooning noises*) for each other and have some rompin', so she got it. She showed me at Subway (Rogers is attached to the same Plaza as my Subway) and i looked at it, dreaded how crappy it was going to be, but if nothing it should be fun.

Nope. It's not even fun. It's one of those horribly written, horribly acted soft-core porn movies where they show only R-Rated sex scenes for about 5 minutes in the ENTIRE MOVIE!

Most of the time that girl was getting tortured (by another woman - how obvious) she was in her underwear, or nude and "cleverly" hidden in a way that you can't see anything. Only much later on did you get to see any "full" nudity (if you consider breasts and ass as being "full"), and by then it's been so long in the horribly acted, poorly written "CSI" type investigations that serve no real purpose but to extend the movie and put you to sleep in the process, that you don't even care about the nudity anymore, and want to shoot all the actors.

One of the funniest things that got me laughing my ass off, though, was this one chick, cookie-cutter soft-porn/playboy model - not so slutty, but still full of plastic - was cast as the scientist. Listening to her trying to sound intelligent reading the script that was written by morons was hilarious! She struggles over every big word, over-exaggerates the character's "smug intelligent" personality, and really it's the visual equivalent of scraping glass across your eye.

But even worse than that, the leader of the evil-women-witches-torturers or whatever they were supposed to be, her face was so pumped with plastic and botox, it looked like her huge cheekbones, blubbery water-balloon lips, and her full, wrinkle-free forehead, were going to fall off her face in big slimy chunks...

The main "boyfriend" was obviously a gay actor, with the face of an oompah loompah, (i don't mean orange), even though he wasn't short. Not saying i have anything against gay guys, what was funny to me was watching him pretend to enjoy making love to his movie-girlfriend!

There were a few sex scenes, they do a lot of that soft-core "do you from behind, but look like we're spooning" sex, which would confuse me more than anything else as a kid sneaking up friday nights to watch the naked ladies that came on around midnight on the movie channel! "Is it possible to reach the right hole in that position, or are they actually putting it in the wrong hole?"
But yah, the sex scenes were kinda bland. Watchmen's sex scenes were much better.

But yah, it's like: short scene with implied sexuality, super long scene of poorly written crime drama - even blue murder wouldn't have run this script - another short scene of implied sexuality, another super long poorly written crime drama scene, finally some nudity in the short sex scene, then more boring, couldn't care less, who's this character and why should we care crime drama scene, then some random long sex scene that doesn't make any sense, yet they spend more time on it, then more crime drama, and then no resolution! Like the good guys die, the witches look at the camera, walk away and then - credits!

In such a random-seeming part of the movie, too - i mean, you hope it's over, but the movie gives no indication of there ever being a climax, so it seems to end without warning.

I don't know, i expected a laughably crappy horror film about women who kill people they have sex with - what i get is a horrible, boring, asexual, crime drama with a few intersperced sexual scenes that would only please a pubescent kid looking for stimuli.

So, yah. I wish the Nostalgia Critic would do this movie - only it doesn't seem like it's that old ... nope, 2008.

Either way, if you wanted to check it out, even for a joke, DON'T BOTHER! You'll feel like your time is being wasted watching a bad crime drama, and you'll be asking, "Where's the kinky killing?"

I don't know, maybe i'm just having my own little gay moment.
It just sounded so sweet with that old 50s clean as a whistle guitar rock music, that had a twinge of the type of music Quentin Tarantino seems to use in his movies ...

But yah. I credit this epiphany to my brother, when he told me many years ago about his perspective of this song. I've understood it, and i've agreed, but just hearing it on the radio today, and singing along to a version i am not used to - in other words, it seemed like a new song, but familiar, so i paid closer attention to it - made me realize i've never really felt the song before this.

*Goes and hides behind the couch until everyone's finished making limp-wristed hand gestures*

Here's a little survey i stole from :deviconixchel-boronaq: (i think she commented on something, and then i checked her gallery and saw this in hew journal).
It's for people who write stories, and sounded interesting. Even though i haven't really written anything substantial for several years, i thought i'd do it anyway.

First things first- list your main story/stories/series that you would like to talk about
1. Journey to the Rainbow Valley of Westham
2. Razer
3. Angeline and Demona
4. Apple the Plump Faery

Which one came first?
Journey to

Which one is the most recent?
Apple

What media is/are your story/stories in? Do you write it? Draw it? What?
All these i started writing on the computer

What genre would they fall under?
1. Fantasy
2. Sci-fi
3. Erotic fantasy
4. Children's Book

Can you give a brief synopsis of what your creations are about?
1. A really generic quest story, inspired by video/computer games and star wars and He-Man and stuff, about a hero named Carthus who is summoned by the evil demon lord to final battle, but the only way to reach him is to go through all these trials and stuff.
2. A super-intelligent girl who grew up on a planet that was destroyed by evil forces becomes a fierce warrior, building her own "light-weapons" *coughTotalRipOffsOfLightSaberscough* and is sent in an escape pod (as her world world was exploding" to a distant planet to begin her intergallactic journey to end up on Earth somehow to become one of the many Super Heroes i used to create - but i was about 14-16 when writing, so it quickly became pornographic...
3. A chubby angel girl who is tricked by a voluptuous devil girl's seductive charms - while the devil girl was doing it on a dare, she actually fell in love with the angel girl, and the angel girl, while wanting revenge for their sexual actions expelling them both from heaven, also fell in love with the devil girl - and a lot of fucking ensued, as well as sneaking around hell trying to escape, trying to show both sides that their love is real, despite the hatred each side has for the other.
4. This one's barely even written yet, but it's supposed to be a children's moral story about not discriminating against fat people just because they are fat - Apple the Fairy is a chubby little fairy and goes to school for the first time, so yah.

What is your favorite thing about your creations?
1. Gwen, Carthus's full-figured, long haired, intelligent, wife, who's also well trained in the arts of fighting, and has pretty feet, hehe.
2. There was this special grass on a planet, if you stepped on it, it gave your feet orgasms, and if you laid down on it, it would give your entire body orgasms, and also morph slightly into what you were fantasizing about (in this story's case, a grass man with a huge grass cock, haha)
3. The way i was able to balance the completely raunchy sexuality with the tender, powerful moments of love (or so i hope) between Angeline and Demona.
4. Nothing yet - except the idea of a fat fairy getting a happy ending

What inspired your story/stories?
1. Hehe, mostly those older computer games like Quest for Glory 1, 2, 3, and 4 (especially 4: Shadows of Darkness), and King's Quest 6, and Loom, and reading Beowulf.
2. Star Wars mostly
3. I love the duality of Angels and Devils, and bringing them together in love and lust, and eventually making a love relationship, or friendship that is much stronger and more productive than just evil alone and good alone.
4. Mainly the suffering that fat girls go through growing up in a world pre-disposed to discriminating against them, as well as all the anorexic 8 year olds who are already scared of gaining weight when all they really should care about is playing with their friends.

Do any songs remind you of your story/stories?
1. Not really.
2. Nope
3. Maybe some of the sexier songs by PJ Harvey
4. Nope.

Do you see any motifs in your work?
1. Not sure what that means...
2. Guh?
3. Ummm, heaven and hell?
4. They're in an apple tree forest?

Do you see any themes in your work?
1. Uhh, another one i'm not sure i understand the question ... it's fantasy themed?
2. It's erotic sci-fi themed?
3. It's erotic heaven-hell themed?
4. Teaching size acceptance?

Who is the main character in your work?
1. Carthus the pretty much flawless warrior, hah.
2. Muralaa Minscharppe, aka Razer
3.
(I started writing this last night, and well, the power went out, heh - luckily firefox saved everything i wrote!)

Zeus is like, "Bitch, More Lightening bolts!"
And Hephaestus is like, "I need more dilithium crystals!"

There's been this huge raging storm hanging above the skies just north of Chilliwack consistently flashing and booming for the last 3 hours. And it's STILL lightening'n'thundering!

But what's odd is that for the first few hours we didn't have any rain. About an hour ago it started sprinkling really lightly, but then about 10 minutes ago Sarah took Milo outside to poop one more time and she said it wasn't raining at all.

Wow, another big flash.

And these have been pretty big bright flashes, too, with some really thumping, rumbling thunder! What's also odd is that the lightening is very far before the thunder ... i was able to count to 25 ... and it was still frickin' bright and loud!

Oh, now they're getting closer - there was one and it was about 2 seconds after.

I suppose getting off the computer would be a good idea, but this is fun, hehe.

(Ironically, this is when the power went out - but only for a second and then kicked back in, but it was late and i didn't feel like turning the computer back on)

Well, it kept storming, and got closer and finally it rained for a bit - but then it stopped ... AGAIN! While the thunder and lightening continued. It kept up until we fell asleep as far as we could tell - roughly 4-5 hours straight, perhaps longer!

Thunder storms are notorious (at least in my area) for coming in, swords swingin', and then dying out within 5 to 10, maybe 20 minutes tops. I've never experienced a storm that lasted 4-5 hours! Without rain! It was so sweet!

It was a good thing it was without rain because i was walking from my parents' to the new apartment, after dropping off the car since i had to work in the other Subway the boss owns just outside of town.

I noticed lightening in the sky while i was driving the car back, but thought it might have been some reflections or something on my windshield from other cars or street lights or whatever, and i got off work around 11:30pm. Dropped off the car, left a note, took a dump and then started walking home around 12 after 12. Then i really started noticing the lightening - but it was far off in one direction - i could see the faraway clouds themselves being under-lit by the flashes, but there were many flashes that just lit up the entire sky.

Once i got to the apartment at some point i was able to see the tops of 3, faraway, purple, lightening bolts that flashed 3 times in the exact same shape before disappearing.

Anyway, we watched George Carlin's second HBO stand-up show, and the lightening and Sarah eventually went to bed while i watched some videos online, like the Angry Video Game Nerd, and i started watching a series by AronRa about the "Foundational Falsehoods of Creationism" (very informative and quite clearly destroys any of their invented arguments in the face of reality), and then went to bed after the power went out for that split-second, and it was almost 4am when i fell asleep, and the storming was still happening.

So, let's see, 11:30 to 4:00, and if 4:00 is also 16:00, then that's roughly 5 and a half hours.

I was also musing how easy it must have been for the ancients to think that one of their gods was angry, dealing out his retribution to the neighboring city, while the children ask questions the adults don't yet know the answers to, but have to answer to make their kids feel better,

"Why isn't the storm over here? Is it going to come over here?"

"Well, those people in the other city must have upset the almighty Schlepipplecorplop - remember to drink the sacrificial goat's blood or the storm may come here!"

"But mommy, that stuff's gross!"

"That's it, you have to die as the next sacrifice because you insulted a religious tradition that we all know deep inside won't ever affect the universe in any way, but we persist in insisting that it does, and so we must be right!
Honey, get the ceremonial dagger!"

"Way ahead of you, darling!"

Ahhh, religion: The #1 human cause of unnecessary death.
But that's another topic. At least it's not a blazingly sunny day out, so that my walk to work won't be horribly hot. The clouds from the storming have lingered and i could not be more thankful. I'd take a gray, dry, cloudy day before a super hot blazing sunny day ANY day! I could do without the wind, though ... except on those blazing sunny days ...

But now i've bored you all to tears, so i bid adieu to this journal entry until next time, Gadget! Next tiiiime.....

Hey there, just thought i'd let you all know i'm moving in with my new girlfriend that most of you have not heard of, yet have seen hints in some recent surveys.

Her name is Sarah, and we've been friends since about before christmas time, and became attached a little while after Laura and i called it quits. Drawings of Sarah should be happening soon. I made a new drawing, not of her yet, that i should put up before i move the computer - give you guys something to savour, i s&#039ose.

Anyhoo, i'm moving today and tomorrow, packin' up the &#039uter, and not sure when we're gonna get internet, since July 1st is Canada Day (damn, i forgot to make a Canada Day drawing for this year! Just search my gallery for "Canada" and you'll find a bunch of previous years&#039 no installation will be happening on that day .... *cough* plus the whole not bothering to call the utilities until yesterday *cough* .... so, who knows for now.

But i should get changed, i'm almost gonna be late for a staff meeting - why they chose 10am, i have no clue. But it gives me the rest of the day to pack and move my things.

I'm gonna have an ultimate Gaming Complex ... well, semi-Ultimate *imagine epic sounding echoes whenever i say Ultimate* - just got a cheap big screen TV, gonna hook up my Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, N64, Super Nintendo and original Nintendo.

It's gonna be (say it with me, kids!) semi-ULTIMATE!

('semi' because i don't have a PS3, the irony is because i said i'd never spend 700-800 on entertainment ... and yet, i bought the Xbox for nearly 400, and the TV for nearly 500... but they were spaced apart by a few months, and as long as you save the money, you can buy stuff - don't get suckered into the credit card downward spiral, kids!)

So, yah - the main idea here is to tell you i may not be online for several days, possibly a week or 2, unless i just come back to my parents' place and check it every so often - but without free use of the car anymore that will be a bit rare.

So, see ya after i get everything all setup properly!

Oh, and save my place til i get back, will ya? That'd be gre-e-e-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-t....

But, wow! Now that's something i've always felt would never happen in my lifetime ... Michael Jackson dying.

Even though he is decades older than me, and logically, barring accidents, he would die before i do - but you know ... he's just always BEEN there... *Crash Test Dummies plays in the background*

Well, i don't mean he's been there FOR me - i was never really a fan, but not a hater, just a casual "laugh at the weirdo" kinda thing - but you know?

But i'm still wondering when i'll ever find out what happened to David Carradine, now that Michael Jackson's going to be on every cover of every Magazine for the next 4 years ... please let his death not be another Princess Di thing ... (I do not try to make jokes about his death - but with his character, it's almost inevitable - but i'm not taking any cheap shots... for now).

I just want to know what Killed "Bill"! Have they finished their investigation yet, have they released anything new? I don't read or watch news very often, and try my damnedest to avoid "Entertainment News" at all costs (why do those shows always have to be so friggin' loud?!?!)

Again, i was never a "true fan" of David Carradine, but after seeing the Kill Bill movies i came to have a bit of a respect for him - the way he was able to coldly, AND warmly play the character of Bill. I know he's a legend of some sort, on some old Kung Fu TV series, but i haven't seen any of them - so, older guys, and guys who are fans of that TV series, feel free to call me a poser - i just like David Carradine because of Kill Bill.

It still makes me more interested in him than in Michael Jackson, that poor train-wreck - or if the molestation stuff WAS true, then good riddance.

He really wasn't all that special, musically. He made some huge hits in the 80s - that i do enjoy - but after that he stopped being relevant, except to the fans from the 80s who indoctrinated their kids into his 80s material. He had a huge fanbase, though, which kinda confuses me, but doesn't - because people run on mob-mentality and will like anything they're told to like, even if it's not that great in the grand scheme of things (i guess it's an evolutionary trait to make sure people share interests and goals to survive as a species better, part of why people are so easily suckered into religion - they're religious because of evolution! Bet they don't like that fact, hah!).

"Disco Duck and Fleetwood Mac,
Playing out of my 8-track,
Michael Jackson still was black,
Those were the daaaaaaaayyyyyyyyssss!" - Homer and Marge

And blah blah, Farah Fawcet, whatever. She always creeped me out, and i never understood how she could have been a sex icon with that face of hers (i know, i know, everyone's beautiful, but we all have our preferences, and shouldn't be shunned for them if they are natural, and neither should people be offended by someone's preferences, because everyone has a set of physical characteristics they don't like, as well - and to my preferences, she was hideous). I know her life wasn't the greatest, but frankly i don't care, and never did. Her life never affected mine, and i care about her dying as much as anyone cares about some random person they don't know dying. People die, only her family and friends need to care. I don't.

But yah ... Michael Jackson dying ... it's just ... you know? You never would think you'd live to see it, no matter how old or young you are ... But beyond that, i don't care.

I also don't really care about David Carradine, but i care more since he was in a movie i really like. I'm not beyond pop-influence myself, you see.

I wish people would care this much when people who have come up with cures for the big illnesses die.

So, anybody know what Killed Bill yet?
(And if any of you say the 5-Finger Death Punch, i'm gonna high-five you before i smack you)

So... almost every time i finish making a sandwich for someone, they say, "Beauty" as if they were Australian without the accent. When did that become something people say? It's usually men or women in their middle-ages, and the kind of middle-aged men and women that seem to try too hard to seem younger, over-tanned, sunglasses, unnecessarily complicated hairstyles, etc... you know the type.

Anyway, onto this questionnaire thing i stole from even though it was one of those ones that your journal readers are supposed to answer in your comments, but i'm a sucker for a survey...

1. Your Name:Nick

2. Age: 29

3. Single or Taken: Taken

4. Favorite Film: Just one? Argh ... ummm, Lord of the Rings Series

5. Favorite Song or Album: Again, just one? uhhh... right now... my burnt combo of 2 albums, "Elements" and "Piece of Time" by Atheist

6. Favorite Band/Artist: The Mars Volta and KMFDM

7. Dirty or Clean: Toooo many meanings, specifically? i like to have sex with a clean girl, suck on clean toes, and i like being clean, but having to shower annoys me, and sometimes i'll go a few days - it's not good for your skin or hair to shower everyday anyway.

8. Tattoos and/or Piercings: None. Probably never. Never any piercings, that's for sure - maybe a tattoo of one of my BBW faeries or demons, some day...

9. Do we know each other outside of dA? Nope.

10. What's your philosophy on life? We are humans, no matter what we believe in, we must always remember we are animals before we're christian or muslim or atheist or black or white, and we must take care of each other and not discriminate against people just because they have a different opinion - but also make sure your opinions are based on reality. And have fun, fuck, eat, do the work needed to survive, but have fun with the time you don't whore out.

11. Is the bottle half-full or half-empty? Depends on what's in it, and whether i want it or not - if it's water, it's half-full ... if it's juice, it's half-empty

12. Would you keep a secret from me if you thought it was in my best interest? Well if somehow i was convinced it was in your best interest i guess i would have to - mostly the secrets i keep from people are OTHER people's secrets. Helps the credibility in when people confide in me and stuff.

13. What is your favorite memory of us? Ummm, your commenting on my artwork? Haha, i don't think we have much more to reminisce about, hehe.

14. What is your favorite guilty pleasure? Hmmm, what do i like that i feel guilty about... there's the social guilt forced on me about my admiration of pretty feet, and hairy armpits, and bigger women, but i tend not to be ashamed of that stuff anymore. It's who i am, and what i like, and at least it's all natural. I still get excited and shout like a kid when the Ice Cream Man drives down the street ... one of these days this summer i'm gonna catch'im!!! I want a Sour Power, goddamnit!!

15. Tell me one odd/interesting fact about you: i think you all know it all.

16. You can have three wishes (for yourself, so forget all the "world peace", etc.). What are they? Money enough to never have to have a job or "career", worldwide recognition of my BBW artwork, full use of my elbows again without pain, so i can colour my pieces again.

17. Can we get together and make a cake? Sure, as long as it's cheesecake or ice cream cake, or brownies - because i don't like regular cake ...

18. Which country is your spiritual home? I don't quite understand how to answer this one ... as i don't have a soul or spirit (and neither do any of you), and i've lived in Canada all my life.

19. What is your big weakness? Puppies, and big girls wearing skimpy clothes and flip-flops, or outright barefoot, hehe.

20. Do you think I'm a good person? (as i stole this from =kamikazekayti, i will direct the answer to her) Yes i do. I guess i truly don't know you or what you're actually like, but from your personality in your artwork, and your admiration for weird and awesome artwork, i think you're swell.

21. What was your best/favorite subject at school? Japanese - i just took to it like a pig in shit, hehe. But also Graphic Communications, which taught how to use artwork to communicate a message of some sort.

22. Describe your accent: I can't tell if i have one - i may have a slight Newfy flavour, since i lived in Newfoundland, Canada for the last 5 years, but as far as i can tell, i have a typical North American accent - the kind you hear on TV.

2...

How do musicians create?

I've always wondered this, and i can't figure it out. You'd think being an artist i'd logically be able to apply the way i create drawings to the way they create music, but it's just so alien a subject to me that i can't really figure it out. I mean, i have a few ideas, but they don't sit right for some reason ...

Do most musicians think in music, like do musical notes string themselves randomly in their minds for specific intruments (like random images fit together in my mind to draw) and they either write out the music (if they know how), or play it on their instrument until it sounds right?

I've been listening to a lot of various metal bands, testing them, seeing which ones i like - often too many of them are ruined by laugh-worthy "death metal" voices, or high pitched scratchy choking, but the music behind them are brilliant, inventive, completely random sounding, and often beautiful. You can tell a highly intelligent musical mind has created some of these amazing sounds, equally as deep and varied as any classical composer ... but, were these sounds in their heads first, or were they just fuckin' around with their guitars, saying, "Hey, this sounds kinda cool, let's put it into a song!"

How do they determine which song to put it in, and where, how do they tell if they are playing the right seemingly random riff in the right song, when they have soooo many different riffs, and soooo many different songs to remember? And often at speeds that would bewilder even the most skilled guitarists.

I know a lot of the more common popular music goes by formulas - intro, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, some sorta change (solo, or different kind of verse, etc.) chorus, chorus, conclusion - with more focus on the singing than the music (ever noticed how in a lot of "alternative" music you can't even hear the guitars at all, just the singing, drum and general tones of the bass?), so i'm not really talking about them. For them it's most likely just fucking around with their instruments thinking, "Well, this sounds kinda cool," for the most part, and then slapping their generic lyrics to them - but what about real musicians?

What about the real musicians who create symphonies using the instruments of their choice - be them orchestral, or metal, or electronic ... when they make lyrics, do they hear the lyrics in their heads in the musical tones? Do they know the music in their heads before the lyrics, or other instrumental influences have been tested?

Try as i might, when i try to think up original music, just created in my brain, it just sounds so random and dumb, like a kid making up his own song. Sure, it's kinda cute, but it all sounds and feels like it's just coming outta my ass.

I have a musical ear, i can memorize music very well (the sound of it, i don't know how to read or write music at all), if someone plays even a slightly off-note while doing a cover, i'm all over it and it sorta ruins the entire song for me.

Oh, i hate when people ruin songs like that! If you're doing a cover of a song, at least don't fuck up on the notes or beats of a certain part - it's not being "original", it's making errors, and you shouldn't be releasing them publicly until you correct those errors!!! If you're doing the entire song in a different key, or all sharp, or in minor notes, or major notes, then it's fine - i understand you're doing something different. But not if you are trying to play the song basically the same way or at least with the same notes - make sure you don't fuck up on any of them!

One example i remember most is some guy i knew, trying to play NIN's "Hurt", you know how the riff starts, "1 2 3" (where he says, "I..." at the same time as the 3rd note), well this guy added a 4th note to that intro riff, and it just sounded awful to me, 1 2 3 4 (as if he said "I..." on the 4th note). Same with beats, i can memorize the beat of a song to every sound, if listened to long enough.

That's how in tuned with music i am - but for the life of me, i can't create it, it is just so foreign that i can't get myself to create anything that doesn't sound amateurish (which i know musical theory and lessons would probably help, if i was ever interested, which i'm not really).

And how many musicians can create these beautiful things without knowing much about the theory? Do they? Can they?

I'm just facinated, so musicians out there - how do YOU do it? Or if you have some information on someone who makes music, how do THEY come up with their sounds, if not by just fuckin' around with their instruments until, "Hey, that sounds kinda cool!"?

(I will bold the game names so you can skip down and read what i say about the ones you're interested in, or you can read it all)

Though not counted as a true RPG, but more of an adventure game, the one that got me into RPGs was Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, on the Super Nintendo. From there i became interested in this top-down view maze/puzzle/adventure/magic/monsters genre, and went on to Final Fantasy 3(6), and Secret of Mana and so on. This is a rambling i gave on a Tales of Symphonia board (i just got Tales of Vesperia, and was feeling nostalgic about ToS), about pretty much all the RPG video games i've played and enjoyed.

Tales of Symphonia so far to me has the battle system that all RPGs should replace their random-encounter, turn-based battle systems with. Except for systems like Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage (N64 - laughable graphics, friggin' excellent gaming experience), and Arc The Lad: Twilight of the Spirits (PS2) - those are awesome, too.

I just got Vesperia, so i don't have many moves yet, but it builds on the ToS system - so far i just haven't enjoyed it as much because i don't have a multiple quick stab Arte yet, and i enjoyed fighting with Lloyd's double swords, but i hope with enough new artes, i'll like Vesperia's system even more.

For classic games, Final Fantasy 3 (as released in N. Amer., it's #6 originally) remains to me the greatest FF game ever, played originally on the SNES. The characters and plot, and friggin' Kefka make it work playing!!! It's the only game to this day to make me cry during the story.

Secret of Mana and Illusion of Gaia are also 100% worth a playthrough (also SNES). Illusion of Gaia has a story that just sorta chills you to the bone, in a good way. Dragon Quest 8 on the PS2 is just ingenious, for a random-encounter, turn-based battle RPG - the story, the characters, all fun, and enchanting.

Baten Kaitos (i haven't played the prequel, Origins, yet) is also very awesome. The beautiful music, the lushly coloured backgrounds, the plot actually surprised me, the card-battle system is easy to learn and really fulfilling and fun. The character movement is clunky and a bit annoying, and the voice acting is enough to want to scratch your ears out (oh, Xehla - you should never, ever speak...), but you can turn it off luckily, and the story and the characters themselves and the music and the backgrounds are well worth a playthrough.

I tried getting into Star Ocean (one that's on the PS2, can't remember the subtitle - you're a blue-haired boy in it), and it really was an excellent, quality game - stunning graphics and awesome story, and real-time battle like the Tales series - but also very odd (ie, you have to learn how to use items in battle before you can use them - like you have to use up an action slot to do it, and the game world will run out of healing supplies, forcing you to use the inventing system, which was too complicated for me to figure out, and buying anything you invent is way too expensive for the little money you ever get - and i'm just not interested in synthesizing or inventing items and weapons - i just want to be able to use what i can find or buy, i don't need item customization - it's annoying and should only be a side-feature, and not required to complete the game).

Xenosaga also is a fun, awesome story, and seemed like a great fun game, slightly different - but i'm just at the stage where i can't tolerate RPGs that still use the random-encounter, turn-based battle system.
I don't like the jarring interruption every 2 steps, and then (in the new 3D era) waiting half a minute until everyone finishes doing their own little poses while the game loads the battle screen before i can start the fighting, every single time, JUST to fight the same 3 enemies in that area over and over again.
I've just had enough of that type of battle system and have no patience for it anymore. So i just couldn't stand playing Xenosaga anymore either. Same as the case with FFX (plus FFX also just felt limited - linear - each forest or dungeon, etc. felt guided, with a limited amount of area to walk in, losing the freedom feeling of FF3/6, or Dragon Quest 8 where you actually get to walk on the grass on the side of the path if you want, or walk over a big game-world map that has no boundaries - No amount of Lulu's jiggling, nor replaying Yuna's dance at Kilika Dock could keep me playing FFX with all it's limited feel and maybe 2 or 3 interesting characters), as well as Lost Odyssey, even though i really enjoyed the beginning of the story and the awesome graphics.

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion is the complete opposite of FFX in that it almost gives you TOO much freedom,...

... in Chilliwack.

Well, let's start with the big fat shirtless guy holding a katana by the sheathe in his hand, who walked out from beside a building, saw me walking toward him, and then walked back around the side of the building.

This was going toward the intersection on Young toward Central. At first all i could tell was that it was a big fat shirtless guy, bald or balding, holding a long club/stick/thing, (which made me a little bit nervous) but as i got closer i recognized the signature curve of a katana (aka, samurai sword), in a black sheathe. As i walked by the side of that building, i gave it a wide birth - who knew if he might decide to just slash his arm out as i got there and decapitate me - but nothing happened, i didn't see him, nor did i try to look. I just walked by - i'm not exactly a regular looking fellow, myself. Though the big yellow subway shirt kinda takes away from my semi-street rat look, heh.

But i bet he was just possibly drunk or high, and wanted to do something silly, with no real ill intent, and felt kinda like a caught idiot when i walked there. I mean, what scummy street criminal actually has a katana? Probably very very few - but a few nerdy sword collecters just might, and i bet that's what he was.
I know that caught-idiot feeling, though, since i used to do silly things late at night, like, oh, taking naked jogs around my neighborhood.

Anyway, next, as i turned down Chilliwack Central Rd. i could see a small dark form in the middle of the street, but couldn't quite tell what it was, since the street lights didn't really reach to that part of the street. But i had a suspicion and i was right. As i got closer, i saw a little arm stretched upward, the paw bent to the side above the body of a poor run-over cat. I muttered sadly, "poor kitty" and walked on by. That kinda thing breaks my heart. But it also was very strange how the cat's arm was poised straight up - for a bit before i figured it out, i thought it was the tail of a living cat, just sitting in the middle of the road for some reason, until i saw the unmoving twisted form.

Then, the next thing i saw, which doesn't really count since i saw it first yesterday while walking with Sarah, was the severed head of a crow, with a short protrusion of neck/spine bones.

Truly this was a night i really really wish i had brought my camera with me.

If i believed in evil forces, i'd think that corner was haunted, or was a nerve center for evil, since also beside the building that the fat katana guy walked out from beside, was a dead rat, that i also saw yesterday while walking.

Man, i wish i had weed to smoke before i started walking home - all this would have been way trippier than it already was! Hell, i don't need it, but it would have been fun or ultra creepy anyway.

But you know what the REALLY twisted thing is? I actually missed the times in St. John's, walking up-hill both ways from my apartment to the call center while i was living there ...

I'll admit, i prefer to be atheist. A) Because, overwhelmingly, it seems to be the only likely idea, and B) because i like to be honest with myself, and the world i see.

If religious people understood that their beliefs are Preferences, and not divine missions from one of the thousands of gods out there that for some reason they think is real when all the others aren't, a lot of strife will be avoided.

If people realize their own beliefs, and the beliefs of others, are all just preferences (instead of projecting onto things that can NOT be chosen, things you can't honestly just change your mind about, as being "preferences" - aka homosexuality), ideas that you Prefer to cling to, not something born into you (we are all born atheist, after all) along with eliminating the rule in each of them that states "our spiritual preference, out of thousands, is the only true spiritual preference. All others, given the exact same circumstantial 'evidence' as ours, and sounding just as ridiculous as ours are wrong, because we say so, and we don't need to explain ourselves because we have faith (ie, we don't prefer to think about things, but demand bizarre things to be true if we feel like it, without needing to have any valid way of backing up our truth-claims)" will seriously work towards ending religious warring - the biggest cause of death in the entirety of human history - outnumbering the top 3 fatal illnesses combined.

But no, too many religions are built upon that one "holy" rule - which in one fell swoop should indicate corruption of that religion - where belief is more important than the spiritual connection to the universe, more important than the love and welfare of other people (especially those who don't share the same preference, or opinion) and animals, even to the point of restricting potentially life-saving research just because it doesn't jive with their superstitions, as well as restricting people who love each other from choosing a life-bond because again, it doesn't jive with their superstitions.

Their PREFERENCE to believe in superstitions.

If they prefer to believe in society-retarding superstitions, those that encourage bigotry and discrimination based on superstition, let them - as long as they don't demand everyone else believe in them, and as long as they don't act on them - because discrimination without valid cause is bad for EVERYONE. (I will not discriminate against a homosexual, because they are just looking for love - their parts may not have evolved to work together, but there are so many genetic differences, it would be ridiculous to discriminate if they aren't hurting anyone - but i WILL viciously discriminate against child-molesters because, even though maybe they were born with a different attraction like homosexuals have been, they ARE hurting people).
But then there are some that think it's their duty to spread these cancerous superstitions, and don't accept the idea that people may prefer not to adhere to them, and so they make up some bullshit to justify their brand of discrimination, such as their preferred devils supposedly making people do things to turn away from their preferred god. You start believing in that shit, you can just about justify anything - and that's a scary thought, and though it may start out as a mental illness within a certain person, it is always backed up by some passage in one of the many horrifying holy books!

And yet Atheists are the ones least trusted in north america ... I mean come on!
Ever notice how many lies and deception are used by religious people trying to argue their case (forging prophetic documents after the fact, encouraging ignorance to unbiased, factual, scientific study, claiming faith in something that they've never seen - hey, you know, faith is a form of lying, if you think about it), while atheists go out of their way to use absolute honesty and facts to argue theirs, also honestly stating when they don't know something?

Of course i can't deny some rogue atheists who may try to falsify information - but the difference is that atheists don't HAVE to, since religion is its own worst enemy.

Anything that requires your mind to do loops and acrobatics to avoid a fact, or dance around it, twisting words around it to make you ignore it, in order to believe the thing is just not worth the effort to think about.

Things that are out there, and can be studied and tested and don't require colourful language to hide the flaws in the argument are much more worth our time thinking about!

In fact, scientific study demands full, honest disclosure of any flaws in the argument so that they can be scrutinized and analyzed and changed or removed if all the tests prove it wrong - at least the scientific study that doesn't rely on capitalism to survive, like "beauty" products and "diet" products.
Saw Ghost of Girlfriends Past last night - started off slow, your typical predictable boring romantic comedy, was funny to see Breckan Myer (forgive my spelling of his name if it's wrong), one of the co-creators/writers/voices of Robot Chicken, and good to see he can actually act. Then it sorta got more interesting. Was kinda funny, but yah, still a little typical romantic comedy-ish.

Also finally watched the Alvin and the Chipmunks movie last night ... i have to say it was cute, though i think Ed Norton would have been a better Dave Seville (at least in looks). "Earl" (i forget his real name right now) has always annoyed me in some way i can't describe, even though i like him in "My Name is Earl", his characters in the Kevin Smith movies, though funny, have always annoyed me. Plus, you could really tell that he wished he could be anywhere but where he was when he was trying to do the famous, "AAALLLLVVVIIIIN!" call. I mean, couldn't he have put any sort of acting passion into that yell? It didn't even sound like how a person would call out for a lost dog or child, but it sounded exactly like someone trying to imitate the original "ALVIN!" but is uncomfortable with acting, and just doesn't put themselves into it enough to make it sound convincing. Whether that was the fault of the actor or the producers, i don't know. Maybe he wanted to holler at the top of his lungs and the big boys were like, "No! That might sound angry, kids aren't allowed to experience someone else being angry at other kids, and you gotta make it sound just like the old Dave, even though we've ruined all the music and made the chipmunks look like stupid asshole homie-g wannabes on the cover!"
Even the original Dave "Alvin" yell had a realistic passion behind it.

But man, they sure know how to RUIN all the good chipmunk songs by R&B'ing them up. Goddamn, leave those songs alone, as they WERE! We don't want to imagine the backstreet boys' voices higher-pitched, but that's what we get...

Not to mention seeing the trailor in a theatre (watching "Ghosts...") of the new version of "Fame". I mean, i never was attracted to the idea of a show about a dancing school, but we have to admit, the theme song was all kinds of Epic. It inspired feeling, it had a really good energy and passion to it ... so what do they do?

Ruin the fuck out of it, by R&B'ing it up, too!

What's happened that this fake R&B and rap bullshit is the default chosen genre for most TV shows, movies and kids shows over REAL MUSIC?!?!?
Ever notice how soulless and uncreative "soul music" is? Why is it everywhere?!?!

The new "Fame" song sounds like every single song ever released by Beyonce and the pussyslut whores, and every other female R&B singer of the 2000's who sounds exactly like each other without any diversity in their sound even between their own songs, instead of the passion-inspiring, emotionally melodic, epic theme song of that 70s or 80s tv show that would come on in re-runs the mid-afternoon after some show i'd finished watching or something, hah.

Arrrgh.

This whole "fake-before-real" culture is really getting out of hand and pissing me off completely. Everything from music to religion - it's all about making sure the fake, worthless ideals survive, because the real ideals that actually matter would require us to think about things other than those we're told to think about.

DEATH TO MIND POLLUTION!!

Hey, just wanted to change the journal - we all know the drill, "don't have anything to write about, but need to write something."

Just thought i'd list the games i've picked up since getting the 360, see if anyone has any comments about them, or recommendations for similar ones. I'm really not trying to boast ("I have 100,000 games in my house in Sweden, where i have 70 plump concubines in my mansion built entirely of diamonds!"), especially since most of the games i get are from pawn shops, trying to get good deals. I just wanna have some game discussions, is that too much to ask? Well, let's get onto it, starting with the one i've basically been on for several hours a day lately:

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
So neat and fun, beautiful scenery, completely free direction to choose to follow the main story or just explore and find random caves and ruins to kill goblins and bandits, or be killed by creepy ghosts and zombies (since i'm not much of a magic user - i always choose the Fighter profiles, with healing spells, and perhaps a couple fire spells). Very fun.

Full Auto
Picked this one up for like $10, must be an older one - the graphics aren't mind-blowing, but it's a damn fun game. Picture a demolition racer, but with guns mounted on your hood. I don't much like realistic racing games - i just like the ones where you get rewarded for causing destruction, WHILE trying to be in first place, hehe. But what i REALLY wanna find is a multi-player off-road racing game for the 360 (NOT just online multiplayer - don't these game designers know that some kids playing games have SIBLINGS THAT MIGHT WANT TO PLAY WITH THEM IN THE SAME HOUSE?!?!). The only offroad racing game i could find was "Pure," an ATV racing game - and i love those kinds - but it's only 1 player, unless you go online (which i can't do yet), so i haven't picked it up, because i've played enough solo ATV racing games on the PS2. Any recommendations?

Lost Odyssey
I really want to like this game, but it's basically a Final Fantasy X clone - with excellent graphics, excellent music and an epic feel - but it's still just another limited, random-turn-based battle RPG that gives you a specific linear map to follow, randomly get attacked and fight in the old-fashioned (very very tired in this age) menu-based battle system. One of the dreams of the main character even made me cry, the story is really good, and i've only put about 5 hours into the game. But i just can't stand the random battles in the new 3D graphic generation where you have to wait about a half a minute for your characters and the enemies to stop posing before you actually get to the fighting. I'm just tired of it. It's the reason why Final Fantasy 3 (6 in the japanese chronology) remains the best Final Fantasy or turn-based Roll-playing game ever made. Full freedom of map movement, and no huge waiting times when you DO get randomly attacked.
All RPGs should take after the Tales of Symphonia system - you can see the enemies before you're attacked, and you actually get to swing your sword and have a REAL battle with your enemies, rather than choosing options on a menu!

Speaking of which, i can't wait til i can save up enough to get Tales of Vesperia ...

Destroy All Humans: Path of the Furon
I LOVE the Destroy All Humans series, but there's something missing from this one. So many things have been improved, and it's just as funny and witty as the others, but you can't bash people with the things you're lifting with your mind anymore. You can only hit them if you throw the object (or person) at them - you can't just bludgeon a person with another person to death anymore, they float right through. I haven't gotten the ability to lift cars yet, but i certainly hope that problem is resolved when i do!

Assassin's Creed
What else can you expect from the creators of the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time series, but the best? The graphics, the movements, the characters, the voice acting, the gameplay is all excellent, all fun, and kicks ass - but it is a bit repetitive. You wander around town to a few icons on the map, do one of about only 4 things (save a citizen, assassinate someone, eavesdrop on a conversation or pickpocket someone) about a hundred times. The story is really interesting, though. Quite unexpected to what you get from the cover art and promotional material.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
It's pretty good, but i think i've played enough games like that, and some even better programmed (see Prince of Persia: Sands of Time series, and God of War series) to really get much from it. Although i loved the little easter egg of lifting the X-Wing from the muck in the second or 3rd stage, hehe.

Saints Row 1 and 2
Well, anyone familiar with the Grand Theft Auto series know...

You know, there's a guy at work, he rides his bike to work everyday, has for the last several months since he was hired (a few months after i was), and he never wore a helmet. Plus, i've seen many many bicyclers around town just riding free, without any helmets on - cop cars drove by and no attention was given to the bikers. That inspired me to get a bike and not have to worry about wearing a helmet, because it seemed the cops were getting lax in that department. So, i bought this cheapo $150 thing from Zeller's, but haven't really ridden it yet.

Now, i understand helmets are good for protection, but they should still be a choice - at least for good riders. If you're a good enough rider, you don't need a helmet, and if you DO manage to get yourself into an accident that could have busted your head into pieces, then it would probably be better to be dead than to live the rest of your life in pain as a cripple.
But my main issue with Helmets is that i can't listen to my diskman while riding. Earbuds hurt my ears and fall out, and those hook-over-the-back-of-the-ear ones are confusing as hell and fall off, and don't deliver any good sound. My preference will always be for the over-the-head headphones - they stay in place, they deliver the best in sound-quality, and they don't hurt my ears. But - they're incompatible with helmets, and why would i want to walk or ride or drive to work without some of my music to boost me up beforehand, and afterward?

So, anyway, 2 days ago i finally decide to ride my bike to work. Perfectly fine, listened to that "At the Drive-in" album i have (they're a band created by one or both members of The Mars Volta, not sure which came first, but they're almost just as awesome!) and i get to work fine, no problems.
So the night passes, the guy i was talking about ends his shift and rides away. About 20 minutes later he comes back and says, "I just got pulled over for not wearing a helmet. The cops are out pulling all bikers over who don't have one. They gave me a $30 fine, and let the air out of my back tire."

What the fuck? The VERY DAY i decide to ride my bike again, this shit happens! Arrrrrgh, just makes me want to take the helmet and bash it into those assholes' faces.

And you know the asshole thing about it? It's the EXACT reason i stopped riding my bike 5 years ago before i moved to St. John's (wow, almost 6 years ago now), even a year or 2 before that, from being stopped and given a warning for not wearing my helmet by these two, ridiculous-looking bike-cops. I didn't want to deal with the hassel, and music is a very important part of transportation for me, so i stopped biking, and actually went out and got driving lessons and finally got my license at 22. So much for trying to be active and healthy. But the government doesn't want that for its citizens, so don't expect anything to change. They just want us alive enough to spend our money.

Anyway, so, as i was WALKING my fucking bike home, i witness blue and red lights flashing as cops are questioning and searching this one poor bicycler on the side of the road. Silently cursing "our freedoms" i just walked by, trying not to call any attention to myself. Perhaps they'll think i was already fined.

But letting the air out of his back tire? That should be enough to get them sued - it's about bullying and control, not safety, whatever they tell you.

I do have a helmet, and i don't really care about how i look wearing one - i just want to be able to listen to my damn music in peace, for fuck's sake.

And don't go saying, "you shouldn't be doing that, either" shit, because i never put my music high enough that i can't hear a car coming from behind me a dozen meters away (yards for you amurikans).
Again, it's not about safety, but about bullying and control, and they don't want to spend the city's money cleaning you up.
All because one parent's kid died because he was too stupid to ride his bike by himself, probably because the parents didn't spend the time to teach him how to ride properly. So we all have to suffer for it.

Grrrr. I know, it's a pretty low thing to be so frustrated and angry about compared to the list of terrible things in the world, but my topic is not about those other things right now, so shut up and grumble with me on this one, ok?

They definitely need to invent a bike-helmet with built-in headphones and a wire to connect to a diskman. Or for many of you, those new-fangled ipods and ipod facsimiles that really just drain the soul out of the music you're listening to...

.

~-~-~-~~-~-~-~~-~-~-~~-~-~-~~-~-~-~~-~-~-~
If you are a BBW and wish me to draw you...
- Make sure you have full body, or thigh-up nude photos, to send to my email address - Email me, or Note me for my email if you can'...

Everytime i have a streak of artistic inspiration i'll end up mentioning that i have been having a creative streak, and as soon as i do so, i lose it.

So, perhaps by declaring that i am having an artistic dry period i will dispel that and start drawing again. Doesn't it seem to work that way for some of you? It tends to be that way for me.

But since i have fore-knowledge of such a thing, now there's no guarantee that it'll work, rats, but i'll declare it anyway:

I am having a dry spell regarding drawing.

I seem to be too involved with my new xbox and its games, plus watching downloaded movies and shows and stuff, and listening to both downloaded and purchased new music.

Like KMFDM's new album, Blitz - fuck it's great! And they finally brought back purple as one of the album theme colours! They haven't used purple since the 1992 album "Money". They've sorta been over-using the red lately. But it's still good ol' BRUTE! artwork. I'm waiting til they do another green. Especially since the last 2 green ones didn't really count.

"Naive: Hell to Go" (1995) was lime green, but it was a re-release of the album "Naive" (1990, i think - which was orange) because some of the songs on that album had unlicensed samples and KMFDM were sued for it, and so had to re-issue the album, but replaced some of the songs with remixed versions of those songs.
"Nihil" (1995 - notice, both are N-words, both green theme coloured - and my first name is Nick, and my favorite colour is green? Too bad i don't believe in karma or spiritual coincidence/fate...) doesn't count because, even though the lettering was partially green, the artwork was an actual painting done by someone else, because BRUTE! didn't get his image finished before they had to start pressing records. He's been their cover artist since the first studio album, "What do you know, Deutchland?" (credited as 1982-1985)

But yah, Blitz, the new album, is awesome, and not just because the album cover has purple in it *guffaw*. Lucia is still getting too many songs (Lucia Cifareli, former singer of the band Drill, has been with KMFDM now since 2000 when they were MDFMK for an album) - when i listen to KMFDM, i want Sascha's vocals (Sascha Konietzko: he's male, the main kreator and founding member of the group - often refers to himself as "Kap'n K"). He does have a lot of good songs on the album, but half of them are in another language. The other language is usually German, but this time they had a song sung in Russian, "Davai".

But yah. They do Industrial metal very well. Some of it sounds like good old classic guitar chugging KMFDM with electronic beats, but with updated equipment and skill ... very nice nostalgia service for the old-time fans.

Also, it sounds like Lucia got some voice lessons. We could all tell she was never really a professional singer, had her own style, and it still shows in most songs, but there's this one that stands out, "Strut." She sings more like a "common" singer, but not in a bad way - more like those disco singer ladies from the 70s, rather than the over-singing slut-"divas" of today. It's done really well, and it's a very energetic song.

And also in this album the music behind Lucia's vocals is actually ALL good. Most of their albums a Lucia-sung song is hit or miss, sometimes it seems like they reserve the crappier music ideas just for her so Sascha can do the REAL music for himself, or one of the other male co-singers of the year (they seem to change each album, from Raymond Watts, to Tim Skold, to Ogre of Skinny Puppy, etc...). Like boring or annoying music would usually accompany a song sung by Lucia, which started to break that trend with the song "Superhero" on their come-back album, "Attak" (everyone download or listen to this song, somehow, it's very good). It's nice to know she's getting musical priority, too. But i still don't want her voice to be on the majority of songs.

Plus, this album takes a few more stabs at the villainous agendas of those who run the main, major, oppressive religions today, and those who freely give their lives to die for the petty goals of religious politicians no more important than anyone else. Such messages are always a plus to me.

I support anything that helps open the eyes of those who willingly blind themselves in the face of overwhelming evidence against the popular position they are encouraged (or forced) to subscribe to, despite all screams of reason inside their own heads that something's wrong, meanwhile enabling those who take these opinions to violent extremes by not listening to that rational part of their minds, and not rejecting the obvious bullshit.

And, damn - Glen Cook is one of the best fantasy novelists in the world - i just love his style. Everyone should pick up The Black Company if they can. Ge...

Ok, so i didn't think about the constellations that people on a planet with a perpendicular axis to their sun wouldn't see that are in the direction of the sun because the daylight would drown them out during that part of their planet's orbit - so by that measure they WOULD be able to gauge a year on their planet by the stars - but i guess the bigger thing was that they wouldn't have changing seasons.

Every day on a "normal" latitude (how arrogant does that sound? "normal" latitude, as if a north-american latitude around the 49th parallel was the only "proper" latitude, sheesh i'm a dick) would be like April - beautiful spring, sunny, but not too hot, rainy enough that crops would flourish, but not too much as to hamper a person's day out. That would be a paradise - no more super intolerably-hot summers, no more deadly cold winters ... though we'd miss the snow (the inhabitants wouldn't) - but the trees might have lots of snowing blossoms all around (my favorite part of April and Spring).

Although, as the latitudes of the sphere rise and move further from the sun, or lower and closer to the sun, that weather would be constant, too - arctic and antarctic climates would still exist (again, if the planet was in relatively the same distance to sun-heat ratio that earth has), and a burning equatorial climate would also be constant, so if people wanted hotter weather they could always move more south, and colder could always move north.

Though the evolutionary natural selection may work differently, in that species that evolved in the warmer climates or colder climates wouldn't need to have developed the ability to adapt to colder or warmer weather as much as our living species did because of our weather changes - they wouldn't have weather changes, so people born closer to the equator may not be able to adapt properly to a colder climate to the north ...

Imagine how the segregation of people in that way would happen ... "You're a hotty, you can't survive in my climate, go back south!" Not that i'm saying that's a positive thing, i'm just trying to think realistically - though that seems silly ... but no more or less silly than people who do it based on skin colour, or opinions about things people don't even know about ...

Whoa, gotta go to work - i meant to have a change of topic, but this interests me, and i appreciate the comments people gave in the previous ones, even if i didn't respond to all of them.

.

~-~-~-~~-~-~-~~-~-~-~~-~-~-~~-~-~-~~-~-~-~
If you are a BBW and wish me to draw you...
- Make sure you have full body, or thigh-up nude photos, to send to my email address - Email me, or Note me for my email if you can't find it.
This is just something that came to me in some random thoughts, and i began to wonder ... i assume others have thought about it, but i'd like to think not too many - enough to make me feel kinda smart anyway, haha ... so yah ...

If there was a planet that was set around a star in another solar system (with the vast amount of solar systems, it's quite the possibility, since it accidentally happened once with ours, and there are billions of billions of other stars with possible planetary systems, so there's the chance other planets share the same life-supporting distance to star-heat ratios), but it's axis was completely perpendicular to that star - would they even measure time in years?

Surely, they would know days (if their planet rotated while it revolved around it's sun at least), but i bet a planet like that would have no concept of a "year" because they would have no seasons - something our unique tilted axis gives us - until their scientists were advanced enough to examine the movement of their planet around that sun.

But then, they might also be able to view the "movement" of the constellations (which is just the change in perspective of the constellations as their planet is moving in that large, relative circle around their sun) ... but our earth's particular tilt also influences that for us. Would the revolutionary path of that planet around that sun be large enough to change the perspective of the constellations around them, or is that something only planets with a tilted axis (like our own) be able to experience? (like a particular constellation appearing closer to the horizon line in one season, and farther in another)

I believe that the intelligent life that would evolve on a planet with a randomly, perfectly perpendicular rotating axis, within a livable revolution around a star would not be able to understand the concept of a year, since they would have no seaons.

Again, at least not until they have scientists who can chart their planet's movement in space ...

As long as they don't have too many religious people fucking things up and holding back all the rational progress based on trivial spiritual opinions ...

I stole this from one of my LJ friends. Apparently it's supposed to be a buncha questions not normally asked in a survey. They're a little different, but not too much. But they were generally fun at least:

1. Have you ever been searched by the cops?
Kinda, maybe? Well, i was stopped by a cop after riding my bike through a red light when i was still in Jr. High - he asked what was in my bag and why i was in a hurry - it was just my school books, and i didn't even notice it was a red light.

2. Do you close your eyes on a roller coaster?
Not when i was 12, but for some reason once i hit 14 or 15, i just couldn't stomach roller coasters anymore.

3. When's the last time you've been sledding?
Not since i grew out of the little plastic sled we had ... man, must be somewhere in the range of 15-20 years ago.

4. Would you rather sleep with someone else, or alone?
It's hard - it depends on the person, some people are impossible to sleep with, or uncomfortable ... but some are really comfy, and don't snore too loud - some people are too short, too tall ... i do like sleeping by myself for the fact that when i wake up early, i don't have to feel guilty about not staying in the bed and cuddling with the person a bit longer - my mind is just too awake to stay in bed like that doing nothing.

5. Do you believe in ghosts?
Not really.

6. Do you consider yourself creative?
Yup. Not at the moment, i've lost my artistic inspiration, but when it comes back i usually can be quite productive!

7. Do you think O.J. killed his wife?
I don't care.

8. Jennifer Aniston or Angelina Jolie?
I don't really prefer either, but i guess i'd choose Angelina, because she's more daring - more of an individual who doesn't seem to give a shit what people think, while being a genuinely caring person. Her lips can be attractive at times, or a new species of wrinkly, fat, demon worms at others...

9. Can you honestly say you know ANYTHING about politics?
I know what we're not supposed to know - that it's all a front that barely means anything, and the real control is out of sight of the general public.

10. Do you know how to play poker?
Somewhat - i'd need a recap on the names and definitions of the high hands (straight, flush, etc...)

11. Have you ever been awake for 48 hours straight?
Possibly, can't remember

12. What's your favorite commercial?
Can't think of any spectacular ones ... the cool quenchers one with the kids arm wrestling and the little girl saying, "i love you" after she drinks it is pretty cute.

13. Who was your first love?
Rachael - if you count the affection of an 11-12 year old as being love. But, true love? I'd say probably Aaryn. We actually had stuff in common, haha.

14. If you're driving in the middle of the night, and no one is around you, do you run a red light?
No. I even signal when no one's around - who knows if there's a person walking around out there - people who don't use their turn signals should all be executed. But if it's a long street, and no one's around i might kick it up to 80k (50k is the speed limit in Canada) for a short while, but i'll slow back down after a few seconds.

15. Do you have a secret that no one knows but you?
Maybe, it's hard because i air most of my own dirty laundry to prevent misunderstandings between me and my friends or potential lovers. If i have any secrets left they're probably other people's secrets, as i'm a trustworthy guy and don't go spreadin' them around.

16. Boston Red Sox or New York Yankees?
Flush'em both down the toilet, i could care less about sports ... but i DO like my Red Socks drawing!

(shameless plug alert)

17. Have you ever been Ice Skating?
Yup, it's pretty fun, but i'm not the greatest.

18. How often do you remember your dreams?
I wouldn't really know if i forgot the dreams, now would i? I remember 100% of the dreams i remember. I've forgotten 100% of the ones i don't remember.

19. What's the one thing on your mind?
(I did this survey on Friday morning)
I don't wanna go to work this early in the fucking day - i'm a night worker, i like the late closing shift. I don't wanna have to go in now for 12 noon (it's 11:37 as i am typing here, hoping i can get this finished before i have to leave, heh, probably not - i should change and brush teeth and see from there ....) after coming home last midnight after closing the store and not being able to get to sleep until around 2am....

Now that i have some albums downloaded to burn, i decided to keep some on the computer and actually use a media player. So, NOW i finally have enough songs downloaded that i can actually do this the way the instructions say. Although, by the choices, you'd think i had just used 5 CDs in my CD changer again, like i usually did ...

1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc.).
2. Put it on shuffle.
3. Press play.
4. For every question, type the song that’s playing.
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button.

Opening Credits
"This is Who We Are" - As I Lay Dying
(It's good metal, but sometimes they get a little too emo... they're the guys behind Austrian Death Machine, though, so that's cool, haha)

Waking Up
"Hook" - PJ Harvey
(Kind of a sexy song, as long as i'm waking up as an adult...)

First Day At School
"Revolution is my Name" - Pantera
(Kinda appropriate? especially since it has kid versions of themselves with the same hair and facial hair and all - imagine a little kid version of me with a scruffy face, goatee beard and thinning long hair walking into kindergarten, haha)

Falling In Love
"Animal" - Atheist
(I haven't read many of the lyrics from this band, but the ones i did were excellent, the title usually points at something different from what a person would normally think - like the one called "unquestionable presence" - most people associate that with what christians say about their version of a god, but what the song is about is how the government [in cooperation with religion] has been worming its way further into our private lives, removing rights on the manufactured persuit of home security [the exact things Hitler did during his reign, the catholic church and the Vatican backing his every decision], so that every aspect of our lives seems to have this unquestionable presence of evil around us, but we slowly realize that it's not who the fingers are pointing at, but it's the finger-pointers themselves... - not sure if the song Animal has the same type of "misdirection" ... either way, i think "Pagan Love Song" by Acid Bath would have been much better...)

Fight Song
Heat Man (Techno Remix) - Mega Man 2
(Fuck yah!! It does start out all happy and silly like you're just starting to crack, and then goes into this hardcore badguy music [would love to hear a metal version] that would go along with a violent killing spree of happiness! But then, Bjork's Violently Happy would fit even better ... but that's ... not on my list yet... will correct that...)

Driving
"Tour De France" - Kraftwerk
(Um... ok, it fits a driving feeling, plus all i did for 21 years was ride my bike EVERYwhere)

Flashback
"And the Psychic Saw (Rhythm Tracks)" - Atheist
(Cuz you don't want singing in your flashback scene - appropriate title, though my mind envisions a giant Psychic Buzz Saw flying around, causing mayhem inside one's brain, rather than "What the psychic saw...")

Wedding
"Laser Eyes" - Zozobra
(Hah, the title again is appropriate, since i'd be shooting laser eyes at whoever convinced me to get married in the first place - i'm not against committment, i'm against the government and religion having their greedy, filthy fingers anywhere near the pure love i would feel for the one i would be with - and if it turns out not to be as positive as a healthy relationship should be, then there's that much less hassle to separate like mature human b...

As some of you know, my long hair is one of my trademarks, something i've always wanted ever since i was a kid - but now i am thinning in the top-front, and i'm afraid i'm just starting to look creepy, rather than like the hot stud you've all come to know and love.

So ... do i let it grow as it has been? Will it turn out to look as lame and creepy as the guy who played the hippie guidance councilor with the long hair, but thinning at the top, in that show "Freaks and Geeks" (it was a brilliant show in the late 90s, but only aired for one season, it had Seth Rogen, and the guy who co-starred with him in Pineapple Express, who also played Harry Osborne in the Spiderman movies - not the guy i'm talking about outside the brackets, though), and he also played the guy who officiated the Ren-Fair type wedding that was on Gilmore Girls (shut up, it was a cute, funny, and clever show)?
Or will it suit me like it did George Carlin? - you know how he was balding on top, but then started to grow a ponytail, and it looked good on him.

Or should i just buzz it short? Will i become one of those cute, young-looking balding guys, like the guy in High Fidelity? Or will i just look like some creepy perv, or something?

I know, looks aren't everything, and plenty of women love bald men, but there are regions of looks that go beyond just "ugly" or "attractive" - i know i'm ugly to some people, and attractive to others, that's the case with every single person on this planet ... i just don't wanna look creepy, that's all.
I've gotten reassurances, but from unreliable sources (friends and family) - you can never tell when they're just trying to placate you, which is nice, but sometimes a person just needs an honest answer, you know?

But then it'll be a pretty permanent decision - at least for a little while - that some people wouldn't want to feel responsible for if i don't like it, or it turns out bad. It may mean i'm gonna have to buy some clippers to keep it up, but i'm sure i'll neglect it, just like how i neglect shaving my face, and then i'll be a funny looking, shaggy, balding, near 30 year old man. I turn 29 this year, geep.

Oh, hey, i just got an Xbox 360 today because my good gaming pal Danielle convinced me, plus there was a sale going on - good deal. Came with Kung Fu Panda, and Lego Indiana Jones, then i HAD to buy the 2 games i really wanted it for: Destroy All Humans!: Path of the Furon (Fuck yah, FINALLY!!), and Assassin's Creed (because it was cheap - i've read mixed reviews, but it's made by the same people who made the damn awesome Prince of Persia Sands of Time series, and it looks and sounds interesting). I'm not connected online yet - i doubt this house's connection could handle it, plus we don't have an ethernet cord long enough yet.

Anybody have any game suggestions that are NOT first-person shooters? I don't like first-person shooters, and in general any game that needs me to keep track of ammo (besides arrows), and games that use guns instead of swords and magic in the first place. Even old Xbox games, not just 360. I do plan on searching for the first Fable, but yah - i'm already gathering a list of game titles to research reviews and such ... Too bad that pawn shop full of games isn't open sundays - i know they'd probably have something i'd like to try that i may be forgetting about ...
I also like offroad racing type games - atv's, big trucks, something neat - something that'll actually blow my mind graphically, AND gameplay-wise.

Hehe, one problem is i JUST basically, finally got the hang of figuring out and memorizing the buttons and their placement on the PS2 controllers after years of only knowing Nintendo controls, now i have to figure out and memorize the buttons and placements on the Xbox controllers, which are placed in the OPPOSITE direction as listed on the old Super Nintendo controllers - you know, SNES has Y X, then B A ... but the Xbox has it X Y and then A B - makes more sense to think about, but i'm always gonna try to hit the other one first - as well as getting used to the PS2 placement of X at the bottom, each time i'm prompted for an X button, i end up hitting A, which looks similar to the Triangle button that's at the TOP of the PS2 controller, so i'm gonna do those backwards for a while, haha. But it's a minor adjustment, i'll adapt.

I have to say, so far Kung Fu Panda (the only one i've tried so far) is pretty impressive! It's not an entirely new gaming experience, but i can already feel the graphical improvement over the Wii.

Don't bother pointing out, "well, the wii was never supposed to have much higher graphics, it's meant more as a family gaming system, the controls were the most important part, blah blah" - i know all that, and am aware of it, and even tried to accept it - but am now only seeing it as the typical corp...

Hey, there. Nothing exciting. Just feel like a change for my journal page.

Been trying to play Mario Kart online, but with this house's internet usage - my computer, mom's computer, dad's computer downstairs, and possibly the one he has hooked up to the tv (my dad works with computers, so he's always had access to a lotta stuff he brings home) all using the internet at the same time, both mine and my mom's computer using the internet to download movies or shows we've missed, all while my Wii is trying to grab a little of the wireless action, translating and transferring my button commands and the locations of the other players on the mariokart track map and translating all THEIR button commands all so i can see where they are - it makes for quite the shaky connection.

At least for Mariokart Wii online.

I can use the Wii Internet Channel, and the Check Mii Out Channel, and other internet-using channels just fine - i just keep getting disconnected from Mario Kart Wii. And it's frustrating, because since they removed the awesome features they had in DoubleDash (the gamecube mario kart - which, despite what a lot of people say, i think is possibly the second greatest Mario Kart ever made - second to MK Wii Online) of being able to do the Gran Prix with 2 players, as well as the "All-Cup" (where you race on every track in the game in a random order, beyond Luigi Circuit always first, and Rainbow Road always last). Without these features Mario Kart Wii is annoying and boring to play in any mode that isn't online. If they would have kept those awesome features (All-Cup would have had 32 instead of just 16 tracks in a row, and playing with a friend would suddenly be less boring), i wouldn't mind so much when i got disconnected from Mario Kart online.

That's why, when playing with friends (*playdough-princess for example) and we can't quite get a good online connection, we sometimes switch to Mario Kart DoubleDash, just to be able to do Gran Prix mode and All-Cup mode without having to choose each track ourselves and having to go back into all the options, choose the setting, choose the character and the kart every time we finish just 4 tracks.

The Wii had such potential, it's the highest selling console, as of the latest info i heard, but how many other people just have this sense of, "I've been screwed," because you can't play any of the awesome games coming out for the other systems because the graphics software just isn't compatible, and because the Wii movement controls just aren't as accurate as you thought they'd be, as they were advertised to be, and because the garbage heap of games that have been made for the Wii aren't worth the money to even rent half the time?

I have to say, thank goodness for Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime Corruption, Zelda: Twilight Princess, No More Heroes, and even Mario Kart Wii for being so friggin' awesome that you can still be mostly satisfied just playing those ones over and over again.

But whatever happened to the time when a system was pumping out winners practically all the time? The Super Nintendo, and the Playstation 2, i believe, have been the greatest systems in this respect. Tonnes of games for both systems, in different timeframes, obviously lots of garbage, but at least for each garbage game there were at least one or more awesome, "must-play" games!
The Wii has maybe 5 or 6 must-play games to hold against a hundred, "Wouldn't spend $60 on this children's puzzle game," type games, or, "Wouldn't spend $60 just to get a game i already have on another system, with controls i can actually rely on" type games. (I know, Twilight Princess can be counted among the latter category, but dammit, i love playing it with the Wii controls - i do miss the gamecube controller's ability to turn the camera at any angle i want, though)

Come on, Wii game developers! We've seen the Wii is capable of more than late N64/PS1 to early Gamecube/PS2 quality games. Look at Mario Galaxy and Smash Brothers Brawl and Metroid Prime: Corruption! Definitely an improvement on the Gamecube Mario, Smash Bros and Metroid Primes!

Step it up, you guys, or the Wii is going to become the next E.T. for the Atari 2600 (the game that sunk a company, where so many copies of the game were returned that they had to find an obscure junk site in Mexico to dump'em). People can only put up with lazy, obviously rushed bullshit for so long.

("Wii Music?" you gotta be kidding me ... seems more like, "Shake the Remote While Wii Play the Music for You" - but i don't know, i haven't played it, perhaps it has a Mario Paint-like music composer feature, but none of the commercials or info videos i've watched have even hinted at that)

We know the Wii is capable of excellent, quality, blow your mind game...

Well, guess what 2 movies i finally saw?

I watched Beowulf, because i was curious as to what it would be like, since one of the first books i ever read all the way through, by myself, by choice and not forced to read it in school, was Beowulf. Not sure if it was the whole story or the original story or what, as it wasn't written in "epic poetic" style, which i think it was originally - just as a 70-90 page novel, the cover was mostly blue cavern, with a giant green Grendel clawing at a small Beowulf holding a sword too big for him (as the story goes).

Anyway, the movie - i didn't realize it was going to be all computer animation, the commercials never seemed to hint at that, or at least i just couldn't tell - but it was very well animated. You wonder how much is animated - were they all just people wearing those computer bulbs to capture the motion, or did they buy all that wardrobe just to animate from live action film? Either way, it was very well done. Grendel was so damn creepy, and it didn't help that i think i was developing a bit of an ear infection at the time, so i could understand his pain a little, too. But wow, so violent.

And before i knew who any of the actors were (besides Angelina) i KNEW that shady guy with the sorta long black hair was John Malkovich! I didn't remember the part about the mother of Grendel - i just remember reading about Beowulf needing to form some sort of bubble of protection from the filthy water to dive under it and into Grendel's lair. He grabbed a sword off a wall that was too big for him, but he was able to wield anyway, and he killed Grendel (or the mother?) with it.

And Zack and Miri Make a Porno, what an awesome, bizarre, crazy, vulgar, sweet movie, and i had no idea beforehand that Kevin Smith was involved until i heard some sort of radio commercial at work about Kevin Smith having another "A night with" interview in Vancouver that people can buy tickets to, and they mentioned talking to him about Zack and Miri. I forgot to pay attention to the credits, whether he wrote it, or just produced it, or what, but i DID see the "View Askew" title - his production company. And, oh, Jason Mewes - what a stud. He usually is the one who plays "Jay" of "And Silent Bob" fame, sad to see he cut his hair, though. Guys need to keep their long hair, dammit ... until they start balding (which i am, and am sad about). But he was just as funny as this porno character he played, hehe.
And the story between it all was just so sweet and romantic and stuff, too.
Kevin Smith is a genius at giving his audience what it wants - something to laugh at, something to feel guilty about laughing at, something to be shocked by, something to cry about, something to feel deeply, and think deeply about, something to feel lusty about - all the human emotion targets, he hits'em bulls-eye, dead-on, while making something completely bizarre seem plausible.
I loved the idea of Star Whores, because it's the type of thing guys like me think about - not specifically star wars porn, but that, "I could totally make a better, more interesting porn than anyone, if i had the money and production equipment!! (Angeline and Demona, anyone?)"

But yah. Beowulf, though well-done, was just another God of War/300, one bad-ass mo-fo, who you shouldn't really emulate, but is the unstoppable hero anyway type movie - was pretty good, but a little bland. Zack And Miri was just crazy fun.

Yah, whatever it is, i feel like i've finally hit the turning point to getting better, but i still feel shitty. Though, not AS shitty as the last 2 days. Coughing, stuffed up, headache, near-fever. Now i've hit the turning point, a sore throat decided to show up for the party as well. I'm hoping it's just that dry soreness from possibly having my mouth open all night while sleeping, but it hasn't gone away yet.

I've never understood the appeal of those bras designed specifically not to cover the breasts. You know, the type where the breasts just rest on top of the cups instead of in them? It's like, why bother even wearing anything? I guess some people find it aesthetically pleasing, but ... i don't know, doesn't do anything for me.
But a girl, say who i lived with, with whom i'd be spending about 70% of the time naked anyway, who decides to wear sexy clothes doesn't do anything for me either, because it's like ... why put it on, if we're just gonna take it off, and i've seen it all already? You know? I guess the only cure for that is not spending most of the time naked together - but who wants to live in that kind of "walled" environment with someone you love?
I suppose when you have kids that's a different story. Unless you decide to live like humans lived before we were imposed with all this religious bullshit about our bodies being dirty and naughty and needing to be covered, because there's absolutely no other use for a naked body than sex (*rolls eyes* how blindly black and white).
But even though i bitch about that aspect, i would still be squeamish about being naked around my own kids - to a certain age at least. A product of a perverted society - made perverted by those who shun sexuality.

Anyway, yah if i had kids and there just wasn't much opportunity to be naked with my woman, THEN coming home to see her wearing something sexy, and altogether inadequate in covering her up, would be a thrill. I guess it's just different between couples with kids and couples without.
And perhaps there are those couples who are still too scared to be naked around each other - the thought of which always makes me sad. If you can't be naked around the one you profess to love, and who professes to love you, then you'll never solve your insecurity issues. (Yet another reason i keep drawing what i draw). You have to let yourself understand that they find you beautiful, and that you're just being - i hesitate to use such a harsh word - stupid. Stupid for denying yourself that freedom, and stupid for denying your partner a chance to show you the admiration you desire, and deserve.

But i don't know ... i still think i'd prefer to see my woman completely naked rather than have some clothes on that are designed to show her body off, and be taken off within the first 5 minutes of wearing them in the first place. Maybe it has something to do with the way i draw women - as i rarely ever include clothing - it's just that the aesthetic appeal is not in the clothing - it's the woman herself. The natural, true beauty. Although i do make exceptions to long, flowy skirts, with their toes peaking out ... that always gets me, hehe.

But yah, the way i draw women, the parts i pay attention to the most, sometimes i feel like i've developed my taste for those parts because i learned to draw them. I mean, i love the shape of arms because i used to specialize in muscular arms when i was first drawing women. As the arms got softer, i still admired them, and wanted to do them as accurately as possible. When i'm with a girl, i'm often just looking at her, scanning her lines - sometimes i'll run my fingers along her body, along the lines as i would see myself drawing them on the page.

But yah, enough about me.

Anyone know how to use hash?

Speaking of which, they made me work part of my shift last night anyway. I had to call in sick the day before, and yesterday - i was so run down. They even tried to tell me i had to come in anyway the day before! What the fuck? I didn't get the message til too late anyway cuz i was too busy resting and sleeping and being utterly immovable.
Last night i only had to start work at 8 instead of 5, and instead of closing at 11, i closed at 10, and had to leave a bunch of stuff because i just didn't have the strength or energy to do it all. Plus, it's their fault for being short-staffed - even though i could pop off at least 4 people right out of my head whom they could have called, 2 of which did not work yesterday. But i'll stop complaining.
If you want a sick person to come in, then expect a sick person's amount of work to be done.
I can't seem to find the option of showing 120 thumbnails per page while searching galleries and favorites ... not since the new "upgrade". Can anyone point me to it, because this whole 16 or 32, or whatever the default is, is very annoying.

Damn, i had 2 excellent days lined up in a row to make cool drawings for ... Friday 13th and Valentine's day ... oh well. I'll try to catch the next friday 13th. I might still have an idea for valentine's, but don't hold your breath.

I barely even noticed valentine's coming up at all, the days blend. Besides, it was just new year a couple days ago, anyway. Who knew this would pop up so quickly?

Either way, i'm not expecting anything, nor am i giving anything for it, it's just another day to capitalize on our weakness to buy things. If i was with a person, IN person, it would be a different story, but i have no patience dealing with this stuff if i'm not with the person IN person.

Hmmm, i guess nobody found my argument on why Zombies suck compelling, or offensive enough to respond.

Anyway, check the previous journal if you wanna see what that was about. Today i have a new Survey ... (i wrote it yesterday, so things that say today and tomorrow, now mean yesterday and today)

HOW MUCH HAVE YOU CHANGED IN 6 YEARS
-------------6 years ago----------

1.) How old were you?: 22
2.) Where did you go to school? I wasn't in school
3.) Where did you work? For a while Bagel Street, and then Stream, the call center
4.) Where did you live? It was an excellent little car
11.) Had you been to a real party? not sure - i went to the bar once all by myself, and had a really good time - girls actually called me over from being alone to hang out with them and dance with them. Too bad they were skinny girls. But that might have been 2003, which was 5 years ago...
12.) Had You had your heart broken? Kinda, not really ... that's when i met kristen, and we fucked a lot, and thought we were good together, then we moved in and she turned into crazy psycho, over-possessive-of-her-stuff bitch, and i moved out after just one month, and never spoke to her again.

-------------3 years ago----------

1.) How old were you?: 25
2.) Where did you go to school? Didn't.
3.) Where did you work? Convergys, another call-center like stream.
4.) Where did you live? How many piercings do you have? none
11) What car do you drive? I drive my parents' white Buick, but it's not mine.
12) Had your heart broken? Not today no - haha. Not a big big trip compared to what some people have done, but still long.
Last movie seen in theaters: I think it was Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull
Last food consumed: 2 day old half-sub saved in the fridge ... some days that can get as backed up as 3 or 4 half-subs ... have to throw them away, it's a pity.
Last person you texted/called: probably Eryn at work, since she calle...

So .... what is the deal with zombies? Why do so many people like them now over the real halloween characters, like Dracula, or Werewolf.
Zombies are just a rabble of mindless brain-eaters - no character, no personality, no gripping quests of good vs. evil...

It's just, "We've run out of good ideas. Here's a bunch of gore-fodder... Watch, as indistinguishable, risen, dead people limp along, eat people and then get blown to bits by the good guys."
Whoopty-doo.

They're just boring, is all. When someone can add character to a Zombie, then i give that zombie more credit and respect (aka, *LaMeep's Lilirose). Cuz there's no malice, no chance for salvation of the characters. Just things to be killed - a movie-making tool to please the animalistic violent little child inside all of us. Once you've seen one zombie movie, you've seen them all.

This rant was inspired by =kamikazekayti's recent poll, Grindhouse: Planet Terror, or Death Proof? A lot of comments said, "Planet Terror cuz Zombies rule!"

Why not Planet Terror because it was so damn campy and silly and crazy, and the characters kicked fucking ass? Zombies were just the gore-fodder of the picture - part of the plot, but really just an annoying obstacle for the kick-ass cast to blow through.

Although this seems to be happening to Vampires, too ... but at least in the flicks with vampire gore-fodder, a few of them stand out and have actual character. Not that i'm a fan of vampire movies, either. I've grown past my need for pointless violence in a movie. I used to live for the shit, but now i find myself falling asleep through all of that, and staying awake to listen to what they're saying to each other.

Isn't it funny how growing up - or should i say the experiencing of movies AS you grow up - reverses your priorities when it comes to what you want to see in movies? Or is that just me?

Anyhoo, that's all i had to say.

As i was going about, cleaning up the floors at Subway of the bigger pieces of scrap (like bunched up subway paper, straw wrappers, the type of stuff that doesn't quite fit in the dust tray when you sweep), i found this little piece of folded paper, and it was just so randomly cute and relevant to my childhood in some ways, about something in the 80s that was probably being used a few weeks ago ... (all spelling errors are unchanged)

"When we first found out about Jesse proposing, we were playing Super Mario 3 with the power glove and we couldn't turn right for the life of us. The internet was no help and apparently our thumb was the A button.
At first we thought it was a waste of money, but the fun brought ben to tears, so it was worth it.
We took out 40$ for alex and he promised he would pay him back. Alex even worked with it on. [scribbled out: It was a special day]
LOL! We wondered if Iron Man ever wore the power glove. If he could could even him not turn right. While he pondered, the power glove which sat [can't read word - looks like, 'matndad' or maybe, 'unatended' ] on the bed triggered buttons spuratically.
Can anyone tame this glove? As we learned more of Jesses proposal we did not learn more of the glove. Even though we knew the power glove was a big pile of crap, we bought it anyways, and accepted it into our hearts [scribbled out: after we stopped laughing hysterically] Just like we accepted the marriage of Jesse and Nichole after we stopped laughing hysterically. It was a special day for all. Everything else is childs play.

P.s. We wrote this on the back of a box of bacon dippers

(Sing Journey)

Bring on the Bear"
[below the words is a crudely drawn picture of a large bear, standing in a suit and vest, posed with mean eyes and claws falling toward a shorter man in a suit and hat standing to the right]

Quite the crazy find, eh? Hey, if any of you wrote this and left it at the Subway in the Salish Plaza in Chilliwack, BC, let me know. I do not claim credit for it, (nor should any of you *points finger at you all, esPECIALLY Yooouuuu!) but you seem like pretty neat guys or girls or both, and we should hang out or something, haha. I mean, Super Mario 3, fucking rights!
(What the hell does "fucking rights!" mean, anyway? Is it that the person who's feeling triumphant all of a sudden regrets having rights as a person? - it's rhetorical, it's meant to make you laugh - but if you have any better ideas...)

Laces out!

*Addendum--- I do put a mature tag on the ones i think are sexual in nature - like the Mushroom Poppers, and Toes Lookin' At You. But Bazooka Suzy? She's not doing anything sexual in the least - unless you're one of those backward, brainwashed folks who think nudity automatically means sex - in that case it's only your opinion which is NOT more valid than mine. Yes, i drew it to be sexy, but what harm will a kid come to by seeing a nude human not doing anything related to sex? It's only a perverted sense of sexuality and nudity that thinks this way - perverted by a religion-based society, i might add. Yes rules are to be watched out for because people own the site, but if no one protests against the worthless, nonsensical rules, then nothing will change! I don't want to be a sell-out, but i don't want to be kicked off the page, but those aren't what the problem is ... it's the complacency of thinking, "there's nothing we can do, so stop rocking the boat." If enough people rock the boat, it will tip - i'd say that's something we can do! ---End Addendum.... if that's even the right word*

I know there's one or 2 or 3 members out there who just sit and wait for me to post artwork, JUST so they can report it for not having a mature tag, or for being too implicitly sexual based on their personal distastes and intolerances.

Nudity does not deserve a Mature Tag! I know in the dA rules it says nudity is a valid criteria for Mature Tags, but in reality, anyone who thinks nudity is something only "mature" people should look at are child-minded simpletons who can't get past the idea that WE ARE ALL HUMANS WITH NAKED BODIES UNDER OUR CLOTHES!

I just want you guys or girls who are out there reporting "offensive" artwork to know just how silly, ignorant, and pathetic you all seem - how stupid and worthless you appear to all the good, valid artists out there who tend to believe in freedom of artistic expression over the little pissy hissy-fits of some over-religious, anti-sex fiend in some backward hick-town who's only real reason for reporting any of these pictures is that they think they will never experience what the people in the drawings are experiencing!

Like George Carlin says, isn't it always that the people who protest against fucking are the type of people no one would want to fuck in the first place?

But since i know everyone is beautiful to someone, why don't you guys use your computer for something else - stop your baby-like complaining, and find someone for you, and get some sex yourselves! From what i've seen online, some people will fuck anything, they'll certainly fuck you!

Get over it, grow up, stop lingering in your immature state of mind, that somehow you consider to be mature, when you go crying about a nipple (something YOU HAVE as well) showing somewhere that a child can see it. Kids have nipples, too you know! It's not like your child will grow more nipples or become obsessed with them if they are properly depicted as perfectly normal parts of the body in a picture or a drawing of a nude person not doing anything sexual!

I mean, where do these people come from, and how the hell to they get so convinced that this natural, healthy appetite for sex is a BAD thing?
Guess i answered that already - envy, one of the deadly sins most of those types of people subscribe against - or in the case of some priests: to make sure no one is horning in on THEIR action ...

Sorry for all ranting fully on this, it was only one "needs mature tag" violation notice for the lovely Suzy Bazooka, in all her naked, giant-phallic-weapon-holding glory ...

But it's one of the several straws that continue to break that poor camel's back! It's just pissing me off more and more, and i just had to address those people and show them exactly what they are, so they can start focusing on what's wrong in THEIR lives, instead of trying to ruin others'!

Period.

Exclamation Mark!

Ellipses ...

Ampersand &

Comma ,

*can hear the groans of "it started losing it's charm after 'Ampersand &'" - don't worry, almost done*

Asterisk *

Pound #

PERIOD.
(no, not that kind! i know how you think, you sick little monkey!)

(no i am not stoned right now, just being weird)

.

~-~-~-~~-~-~-~~-~-~-~~-~-~-~~-~-~-~~-~-~-~
If you are a BBW and wish me to draw you...
- Make sure you have full body, or thigh-up nude photos, to send to my email add...

Hey, i wanted to call a shout-out to all the BBW Stock Artists, and Models out there on dA that watch me or read my journal ... i need practice on a pose.

It's nothing outrageous, but it's just something that really bugged me when i drew that Mushroom Poppers drawing (can't show a thumbnail of it, cuz i lost my subscription).

I would appreciate it if any of you had the time to shoot a nude shot of yourselves crossing your arms over your chest. They can be in front of your boobs, under your boobs, above your boobs, uhhh ... one boob above, one below? (haha, might be cute) from different angles, front on, or side-on, or 45 degree angles to either side, whatever you feel like, and let me know when you post them.

It would be a bonus if you could do it while sitting on a step or something and cross your legs, with one of your feet and its toes sorta stretching out or something. But the shoulders and arms and chest area are the most important. A pouty sorta look towards the viewer's lower left (so your lower right), if possible.

I just really want practice on this pose, and do it right. I don't want what happened to the girl on the right in that Mushroom Poppers drawing to happen to this other idea i have in my head that i may want to draw soon.

Oh, and if you feel like it - maybe a straight-on pose, legs together, feet about 45 degrees to left and right, with hands clasped on something in front of your belly (use a broomstick to hold or something - no it's not gonna be a phallic object this time)

Thank you in advance to anyone who does this for me. I don't know what i can offer, either i'll be answered by too many of you to give you all requests, or i'll be answered by no one, heh ... i can do little quick sketch-requests for you guys, if you want!

So yah, let me know!
Thanks!

I loved my little turcel, though ... nice little old beater that worked, and was fun to drive.

D
- Day or Night: Depends - i prefer to work in the evening so i can have the relatively quiet streets of midnight to walk home in, rather than the ugly busy daytime streets ... but daylight brings out all the colours of the trees and grass and all that ...
- Dance in the rain: Would be fun to do naked with mah grrl some day.

E
- Eyes: Grey/Blue
- Everyone's got a(n): bum hole.
- Ever fail a class?: computer sciences - only because the teacher didn't teach anything, he gave us textbooks, told us to follow the instructions in there, and basically left us to do it - i need more direct instruction from a teacher in order to get that kinda thing - my mind doesn't work well with dry information alone. I did well for the first 2 weeks i think, and then i lost my place and couldn't recover, so i gave up and just surfed the net for the rest of the year (that was when the internet was still relatively new to the mass public in the mid-late 90s)

F
- Full name: Nicholas Peter Marton
- First thoughts waking up: either, "Hello puppy" as he usually sleeps on/next to me, or, "Where'd the puppy go?"
- Favourite cereal: i really liked Reece Peanutbutter Puffs, but Honey Nut Cornflakes were classically my favorite since i was young ... but i can't seem to find it anywhere anymore, even after it had a name change to "Honey Crunch Cornflakes" ... but as a good filler between those Cinnamon Toast Crunch is always good. But then, if it weren't so expensive, i'd love to just eat granola in milk ...

G
- Greatest Fear: loss of use of my knees and elbows, and loss of sight (at least that's what seems to make up most of the nightmares i've had in recent years)
- Goals: win the lottery, or become famous enough with my art to not need to have a job to support myself anymore - or get an education at some point to lift me from the bottom of the barrell when it comes to jobs. Beyond that, i want about 2 kids at some point.
- Gum: i enjoyed those ones that had those tart, fruity flavour crystals in them, i can't remember their name right now ... either that or watermelon, or sour green apple!
- Get along with your parents?: yup, mom more than dad, but that's because we're both a bit socially awkward - he tries too hard and i don't try hardly enough
- Good luck charm: I don't k...

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but when i was a kid, i tended to like the sequels to things better than the original movie.
But that makes sense, because for some reason Hollywood tends to focus the sequel of a movie on a broader audience, they make them bigger, flashier, speciel-effectsier, and they especially try to make it more accessible to kids.

You want examples? Well, here are the ones i've observed in myself, and maybe it's not really a lot, but i found it an interesting observation anyway:

Terminator - Terminator 2
Alien - Aliens
Ninja Turtles the Movie - Secret of the Ooze
Die Hard - Die Harder

In all of these, i found myself enjoying the sequel more when i was younger (except maybe Turtles ... but i think i laughed and obsessed more about Secret of the Ooze, since it was bigger and flashier and more aimed at kids).

Terminator 2 had a young John Connor, and the Terminator never killed anyone (T-1000 still did), it was bigger and flashier, and bit lighter-hearted.
Aliens had a little girl, and more appearances from the Aliens.
Die Hard 2 seemed more action-packed.

But as i grew up more i realized i enjoy the originals more. They tend to be more serious, darker, a bit scarier and deeper.

Terminator was a lot freakier, much more bloody and fatally violent, and the story was introduced and all that.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Movie was also darker, still light-hearted, but when the turtles' place was torn apart, and Splinter was gone, i was utterly shocked and terrified for his life. The crime on the streets was more emphasized and scary, and the story had a bit more of an adult sense of drama (like when Raph was out of commission and all the turtles were dealing with it in their own way, etc...)

Alien - i never wanted to watch Alien when i was young because i thought it would bore me to death, since it only had one Alien in it - but i finally watched it and i kept thinking to myself, "This is actually how real people would react in a situation like this. This is really well-written and much creepier and less ... predictable than Aliens!" I enjoyed it MUCH more. And i didn't realize it had Bilbo Baggins as the Android who goes crazy! (Ian Holme)

Die Hard - i never really was a huge fan of the series, but i liked the first 2 (haven't seen the 3rd). My mom watches it every christmas as a tradition, hehe, and they are enjoyable.
So, as she watched them this season, i realized that i just liked the first one better. Sure, it only had one location - the building - and less things seemed to be happening all at once, but it had Carl Winslow, the cop who plays a cop dad in Family Matters (spun-off from the superior sitcom "Perfect Strangers"), and the guy who played sidekick to two of the most powerful men in TV-land - Ben Matlock (Andy Griffith), and Walker, Texas Ranger (Chuck Norris) - only as a badguy in this one, hehe.

Of course this "darker-themed original compared to kiddie-flashy sequel" thing doesn't happen in all movies - especially Wizard of Oz, but ... Return to Oz wasn't really a sequel to the movie of 1939 with ... my goodness, i've forgotten Dorothy's name - Judy Garland, that's it ... but more of a sequel among the actual books of Oz.
But still, for the children of my generation to watch Wizard of Oz, and then Return to Oz (featuring a young Fairuza Balk), it was quite a shock. The flying monkeys were creepy, but not as terrifying as those deformed Wheelers *shudder*. The Wicked Witch of the West was scary, but not as traumatizing as the closet full of heads! Especially when they started waking up and moaning "Doooorothyyyy Gaaaaaaaaale..." *double shudder*. But we all loved Tick-Tock, the Army of Oz! He was the equivalent of the Tin Man, who was also my favorite of the gang.
But i think i still enjoy the 1939 Wizard of Oz more than the 1980-something Return to Oz, just because i'm more familiar with it.

Man, i rant on like an old man, don't I!

Anyway, there's no real point to this, other than to perhaps ask if you guys experience this, too (if any of you are old enough to have grown older and started enjoying the less flashy, the more subtle, the darker, and deeper original movies than the newer kid-targeted - or at least PG-13 oriented - flasher sequels), and if you have any of your own examples. To ensure that i'm not just a crazy whose ramblings don't make sense to what other humans have experienced, etc... haha.

OOH, another example - Indiana Jones! My family and i always loved Temple of Doom the most: it had a little kid - Short Round, and you add a kid to any movie you'll have a younger audience appreciating his reactions and spending more of their parents' money...

This is exactly why i am so outspoken against religion:
[link]

And even though i don't agree with this pastor's choice to believe in god, i respect what he says and finally feel someone on their side is fighting for the REAL issue - PEACE between us all, religious or non-religious!:
[link]

That guy is exactly right, atheists wouldn't feel the need to fight back so much if we weren't being pushed and pushed and discriminated against and ridiculed and blacklisted just for having a different opinion of the universe! When christians can stop calling us evil, and judging us, and not kicking us out of non-religious activities with them (eg, as the case was with the girl in the first video), we will stop bringing up so much about how there's no evidence for a god, and that religion is ridiculous, and that it should be eliminated altogether. We only want the discrimination that religion breeds to be destroyed - you can keep your religion as long as you give up the bigotries instructed in the bible (such as calling atheists evil, as well as the homosexual rights and women's rights issues, etc...)

Atheists just want to live in peace, and when christians let us do so, we will back down as well. Besides, it's not us who should be on the defensive - we're not the ones making the radical claims without proof. And as long as religious people realize that it is them doing that, they should be able to cope a little better with the idea that other people may have different ideas about religion or non-religion than they do. And that is the key to peace between us all:

UNDERSTANDING!!!

.

-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~
If you want me to draw you:
Make sure you have full nude photos of yourself, your body unobstructed by anything, in poses you wish to be drawn in, and send me a note.
You know by now the type of women i draw, so i won't bother mentioning that i am only interested, at this time, in drawing full-figured women.
I know when i was a kid (and mostly still today) i hated vegetables - they'd ruin the taste of the good meaty whatever i'd be eating.

So, i'm floored when i see little kids ordering lettuce and tomatoes and green peppers and onions on their sandwiches. It baffles me - whatever happened to kids hating vegetables?

I guess it's not a bad thing, but ... some veggies just scream out to be spat out.

But slowly, i've become more tolerant to some, cuz when i make minestrone, i am eating a few veggies that i never would eat by themselves - yellow peppers, zucchini, celery, but without them in the soup, it's just not right.

I mean, there are the vegetables that are not offensive, like carrots, and raw cauliflower, and peas and corn and potatoes, all those i have no problems with. But the super-strong, super-bitter ones, like green peppers and onions, i could NEVER eat unless they are chopped into tiny pieces and hidden within some saucey or soupy recipe.

Although i did read an article recently that there are certain people who are "super-tasters" in that they can taste things in food that most other people don't notice - which is why so many of those "offensive" vegetables taste so bitter and too strong for people like me. Also for coffee, i cannot understand how anyone can tolerate that amount of bitterness - no matter how much sugar and milk/cream you add to coffee, it still tastes as bitter as dirt to me.

Although some people might be proud of me - my subway sandwiches usually consist of the meat, 4 slices of pickle, and ranch, mayo, mustard, salt and pepper, sometimes oregano and parmesan - but lately, since i've really been enjoying the yellow peppers in my minestrone soup, i've snuck in gradually (from a tiny piece, to a line, to about 2 lines) of green peppers into my sandwiches. And i've been enjoying it!

But it has to be in a sandwich that heats up. I tried it with just a cold meat (turkey and ham), and it just wasn't good, but it's really good with the Steak'n'Cheese, and the Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwiches!

Who knew? Green peppers used to be the most potent, most bitter, most "spit it out as fast as you can" vegetable to me out of almost all of them (besides the vomit-flavoured Brussell's Sprouts, or raw onion), but i actually was able to tolerate it enough to enjoy it, hehe. And i might even try it on pizza one day!

But i gotta watch out when i do it, because Laura's almost deathly allergic to peppers, so i gotta experiment on my own for this one. Now all my ex's that would get annoyed at me not liking those veggies can be like, "Goddamnit!" Or, "Seeeeeeee!??!!?"

I'm not at the stage of trying onions in my sandwich - onions are only good to flavour bigger dishes, i can't stand to eat them raw, or even cooked on pizza, or cooked in chow mein or anywhere else. They have to be unnoticeable. And i will never like mushrooms. The texture is too ... disgusting and the flavour is always bad. Won't stop me from wanting to try the magic variety some day, but beyond that, keep those friggin' things away from me!

But yah, since kids have sharp taste senses themselves, it confuses me to all hell to see little kids WILLINGLY ordering veggies on their sandwiches ... Maybe all the health-crazed lunatics from the 90s and now are forcing their kids to like them more enthusiastically at younger and younger ages ...

Oh, and the album "The Blackness" by Machine Head - they are true metal composers

Compared to this time last year, are you...

Happier or sadder? i'm a little more down than last year i think ... not sad, but a little disappointed - or at least my anticipation for moving back to BC didn't match the actual experience.

Thinner or fatter? My face looks thinner, i was gonna weigh myself this morning after my shower, but i forgot - but it's a really old scale, the spring might be loose ... 168-170lbs ... if i remember correctly, i was 178 last time i weight myself, for the last 4 years ... so, i guess i am thinner.

Richer or poorer? poorer - my $3000+ savings are all gone, slowly rebuilding, though.

What do you wish you’d done more of?
In all honesty, visit bars to meet bigger women who would let me draw them.

What do you wish you’d done less of?
Ignoring my online responsibilities (da watch list, messages, livejournal replies, avoiding people on msn, etc...)

How did you spend Christmas?
Christmas met my anticipation of having one with family when my brother came home to have it with us.

Who did you spend the most time on the phone with?
I rarely was ever on the phone, the person i talked to most was my mom, calling home from St. John's, just for the regular "how are you doing" type calls that moms need.

Did you fall in love in 2008?
Yes.

What was your favourite TV programme?
Heroes and House, and from downloading: Drawn Together

Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
I don't .... believe so ... i hate to sound cliche, but i don't think i "hate" anyone ... well, except child molesters and rapists and people who discriminate based on religion or sexual preference. But no one person in particular.

What was the best book(s) you read?
Wizard's First Rule was pretty good (and i read it before i even knew about the horrible horrible tv adaptation), and i believe i may have read the other Instrumentalities of the Night book by Glen Cook (still waiting for the 3rd, plus the latest Black Company books by him!!!). I'm reading the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy series right now (started in 2008), and it's good, but a little too ran...

I have an idea for a drawing for New Year, but who knows if i'll feel like doing it. I just wanted to mention something i thought was funny ...

I've seen some commercials advertising the Dick Clark New Year's Rockin' Eve ... and 2 of the bands, listed back to back just really struck me as how insane and obvious the corporate media is:

The Jonas Brothers, and the Pussycat Dolls ... we know they're both owned by whoever owns Disney and Coke and McDonald's and ABC and Jesus and all that's associated with the purest of the hidden evils ... but still, what the fuck?

The Jonas Brothers: the wussiest little weeners, at least half of which i suspect are closeted-gay (and i'm aware there are just 3 of them), aimed at the pre-teen and grandmother population of the world, put next to the Pussycat Dolls: whores taken from the streets, trained how to "dance" as if everything around them is a straddling-pole with voice-altering effects to make it seem like they can sing, to those who don't have ears, whose target audience are ignorant, pubescent+ males who are willing to accept the sacrifice of talent for slut-appeal.

I just have a hard time saying both the names of the bands together, imagining them performing at the same show, without laughing my brain off in my head, while at the same time weeping for the true musicians out there who are obscured in the shadows of these plastic figure-heads of balding fat men in suits in offices, listening to the sound of coins and bills falling into their pockets (aka, non-existent money represented by numbers on a computer rising in a supposed bank account), provided by people who are too brainless to understand THIS IS NOT MUSIC!!!

I'll give the Brothers a nod that they probably started out with their own talent and play their own instruments, but it doesn't make them any less tools of the money-machine that tries to represent itself as a clean, christian, family organization, while at the same time funding the teen-girl-stars that are battered by the media (that they fund as well) into drug-abusing, acting-out spoiled brats that become barely the carcasses of their original semi-human forms, plus funding the terrorists in other countries to keep the hick-minded looking away from what's being done to them by their own country...

*pant, pant, pant...*

Heh, wow, this turned out longer than i expected.

But in spite of all that, have a Happy New Year!

We have a president below us finally who isn't a major moron puppet - he could still be a clever puppet, but at least he's not a moron - i just hope he's not a puppet, and that if he's not, he doesn't get assassinated like all non-puppets have in the past.

So we Canadians finally feel like we don't have a time-bomb underneath us ... again, hopefully it's not a front to lull us into the fascist New American Century, or New World Order ... *shudder*

It's all these things that help make me want to draw my big girls happier and care-free-y-er, hehe. The world is entering a scary phase, if all the evidence is true ...

Thank you.
Other requests? Well, send me a note, too, but i can't guarantee anything.
My inspiration possibly may not strike in regards to your request anytime from a week to a few years, so be patient.
-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

My five year old daughter was peeping over my shoulder as I looked at it and she said, 'She looks like Jasmine but she's really not.' I thought she might have been referring to size until she added, 'The real Jasmine didn't wear the lamp on her foot." After observing it for a moment she said,' I like the way the person drew it. It's cute. I like the way her tummy is. It's really cute.' So there you have a child's view. "

See?
There's hope for the world, yet!
Don't let the ignorant, immature snobbitches ruin your view of true beauty. Don't let them make you feel bad about yourself, and stride on proud that you are above all that trash, that you are beautiful and amazing, and lovely to enough people to matter! Everyone else can go throw-up in their toilets and leave us alone - or better yet, take example from the 5 year old girl mentioned in the comment, and admire the diversity of beauty!

Well, it's at least an hour or 2 late for the eastern time zones on this continent, but Merry Christmas, everyone!

When i got home from work on the 23rd, (i got out really late, around 1:30am) my brother and i went downstairs pretty much right away and played video games until about quarter to 6am, haha. He had made some Pot Fudge Brownies that we shared and that totally baked me higher than i thought it would have. But we had a lot of fun, talking, playing the Wii and all that.

I worked the 24th, 12-6:30, luckily i had the new guy with me til 6:30, cuz he's a good worker and really helped the close go fast. Wish i had someone with me every night ... but i guess the hour less pay i'd get isn't worth the few more hours pay the new guy would get, in the boss's perspective. But damn, we got it down to a half hour instead of 1:15 - 2:00 hours.

So when i got home we all had turkey dinner together, and it was really good, and we tried to watch A Christmas Story, but i fell asleep through some of the best parts (like Ralphy beating up Scut Farcus), but got most of it, hehe.

Then i helped Mike play some Okami on the Wii, and he loved it (i knew he would). I also showed him No More Heroes and then went to bed.

No real anticipation for waking up early on xmas morning, because there were really no gifts to exchange since we all spent a lot of money just to have Me and Mike here. But at least i got a traditional mandarin orange in my stocking, as well as a chocolate orange.

I'd asked Carolyn to pick up a game i wanted to try to send me, and i was going to pay for it, but she wrapped it and sent it as a gift, and i opened that (Romancing SaGa, for PS2), and my brother bought me this vintage erotic photograph in a frame of a slightly chubby woman, and it's very cute and sexy, hehe. (He said the chubby girls with armpit hair that he intended to get were all gone by the time he got there - so that sucks for me, but is kinda neat to think about other people buying them ... GO NATURAL BEAUTY!!)

The doggy got a new toy and a new cow bone to play with and chew on. I got my parents and brother some cards. I sent a movie to Carolyn that meant something to us, and send a home-made gift to Laura that she has yet to get in the mail.

We had some turkey lunch and stayed home because the snow was too bad on the highways to drive out to the grandparents'. I brought the Wii up from downstairs and hooked it up to dad's widescreen tv, and mike and i played some more Wii.

We then watched White Christmas, oh, and the Garfield Christmas (damn, i really wish that mind-reading gift giver existed!). We also watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation earlier - which i kinda wanted and didn't want to watch, just because i think i've over-watched that movie the last few christmases with my St. John's family, haha.

I still want to watch It's a Wonderful Life, and the Muppet's Family Christmas, but who knows if i will.

I'm scheduled "On-Call" tomorrow, boxing day, so i may not work, but could possibly get called in, which would suck. I'd love to have 2 days off in a row for the holiday at least. It also means I can't go out ...

But dammit, we need a new Gamecube controller, a new N64 controller and a new Wii nunchuck because the dog spilled my cup of juice all over them, and now they're way too sticky to play with (the buttons are stiff), and there are gamecube games i've been wanting to play with Mike since we were first contemplating him coming out for christmas, dammit!! And he's only here til the 6th, and possibly some of that in Vancouver.

Anyway, overall it was a nice christmas. Restful, uneventful, calm, fun and nice.

And now, me and mike are going to go smoke the last pieces of ash from my stash - possibly an inhale each, haha, and perhaps play some more games!

It's hard this year because i've been spending the last few months preparing to move back to BC, and having no money, and my parents already spending so much money on me, and then me saving as much money as possible for my trip to Wyoming to be with the lovely Lady Laura :iconladyyunna88: in mid-April ... i haven't really put much thought into things that i want for christmas - which in one way is a good thing, but in other ways, ya gotta want something for christmas - it's tradition!

So, let's see if i can even come up with more than 4 items ... (realistic or non)

1. An Xbox 360
I know i got a Wii last year, and i was honestly hoping that would satisfy me for the next few years, but the games that are coming out for it are total crap, and i'm very disappointed. Plus, half the fun of a new system is upgraded graphics, and the Wii games just don't deliver on that either, except for Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros.
But the 360 has other games, more RPGs, the new Prince of Persia, and will have the new Destroy All Humans! game, all stuff too graphically enhanced to ever be ported to the Wii, and i don't live on a rocket-scientist's salary enough to get a PS3 (besides, i've been hearing that it pretty much sucks, but i'll miss out on the God of War 3 that's supposed to come out on it). But i don't think i'll be getting anything that big this year. I can wait and save for it.

2. Wii Points Cards
All that complaining about the Wii aside, i would love to purchase some more virtual console games to play - the old school games, and i also want to try those Strongbad games, too!

3. Book - Defending Atheism
(Can't remember the author) I love reading books that make sense, and take the world for what it is, written by people who appreciate the beauty of the universe without needing a god, and in fact showing how much more beautiful and amazing the universe is without any divine intervention. People who actually think like me about this stuff, so i don't feel so alone - plus giving me the proper wording for some arguments against those BS questions creationists come up with to try to stump us, when it's THEM who need to bring the proof.

4. Ummm ... millions of dollars so i can bring all the families and people i love together on christmas.
I'd love (all personal awkward feelings aside from everyone) to share xmas with my family, Laura, and Carolyn and her family ... it still feels wrong that i won't be spending it with Carolyn's family. Even though we're broken up, we're still very close friends.
The last 5 years have been some of the best christmases i've ever experienced. That family is pure, solid gold, all the way through to the heart, and i miss them very much right now, and they say they miss me just as much.
I almost started crying when i got a package from Carolyn including the large christmas stocking that her dad knitted for me before the first xmas we shared together.

What sucks is that i had one of those realistic dreams last night where i bought a scratch ticket and i had won $1 million, and i was planning all this, then woke up.

5. Socks
I've reached the age (several years ago, in fact) where i ACTUALLY want socks for christmas.

6. Oh, and uhh, world peace and the demolition of all religious hierarchies and rigid belief-systems of slavery and control, self-policing and discrimination, disguised as "love for one another - as long as the other is my kind."

Ummm, heh, sorry about getting all political there. I don't even know if i want any new music, or specific games. Perhaps The Force Unleashed, as i hear that's supposed to be available for the Wii, too ... isn't it? But then i saw some reviews saying it's not quite as good as it should have been.

What's wrong with gaming these days? It seems the due-date is more important than the actual quality of the game lately, and it's making a lot of the newer games get either bad reviews or mediocre reviews ... maybe it's because the hardcore gamers who become reviewers and critics have seen it all before and there's nothing new to get excited about for us anymore. Oh, to be a kid again playing my first game ... i remember when Super Nintendo had the totally most awesomest new graphics in the world ... I still think it had better graphics than the N64 ... just because it was 3D didn't mean it didn't look like crap most of the time ... (the Legend of Zelda's aside - they were beautiful)

But i digress, and didn't mean to get all negative.

The bottom line - i bet i'm gonna at least get the socks!
*listens for a crowd cheer, but hears a single person clapping, and another coughing...*

Merry Christmas everyone. This year's seems to be going by so damn quickly! Is it just me? Is it the adult thing, seeing mo...
