So I've noticed a trend lately.

I understand that this a common mistake, but I do get kinda tired of people mistaking me for the cosplayer rather than as a photographer.
I understand that when people see my posts on dA or Cosplay.com or FB, they tend to assume it's the cosplayer who posted it and in comments, it's understandable. But I've been getting private messaged or emails A LOT lately from people who are offering opportunities for big projects to do cosplay for, and I continuously have to inform them that I am a photographer, not a cosplayer.

So it's now Christmas break, I need to do SO much shopping and gift buying for people. Plus so much partying and seeing friends and family to do.

Otherwise, I'm still wound up from the stress of the semester. It didn't really end on the best terms, and i'm nervous about next semester. But all I can do at this point is stay optimistic about it.

I'm back from Montreal! Got into Toronto at around 1 am last night and I'm at work now doing some flats.

I had SUCH an amazing trip! I have fun at Otakuthon every year, but this year was just awesome. So many friends there and got to meet new people that you can't help but have fun.

We got into Montreal Thursday afternoon and hung out that night. Went to the con on Friday at 4pm for my first shoot which had a late start but was still great! I hadn't shot with :deveebanee: since Con-G 2011 and as always, she and :devshivachan: were a pleasure to work with! Lots of good laughs!

So things that've been going on recently... many things.

Atomic Lollipop was this past weekend. I only got to attend the Saturday because of a family event that was going on on the Sunday, but from my time on Saturday, it's a fun little con. Great if you wanna feel like a kid again! Ferris wheel, bouncy castle, glow sticks and bubble machines, outdoor rave, good music.
The only thing I can say is that I'd rather mainly go for the main events than for typical con things, like Artists Alley or Dealers Room or regular panels. I am no longer taking requests for Otakuthon. The 4pm and 6pm slots are currently being negotiated but I have multiple request for those 2 spots so if the people I'm talking to can't do the slots, I'll go to the next person who requested it.

So sorry for the delay for Otakuthon schedule.
I've been sick for the last week or so and I'm currently in bed and recovering.

However, because I'm still not quite up to checking my computer very often, I will not be releasing the schedule until I'm at decent health again.

Well, ACEN photos are all finished, currently working on photos from Anime North (which was AWESOME!!! as it has been for every year that I've gone to AN).

And I just got back from Colossalcon in Ohio. Was my first time to this con, and it was AMAZING! It was at a resort that had 2 waterparks and a petting zoo!! OMG! So many animals! Parakeets, Giraffes, Zebras, Warthogs, Bunnies, Jackrabbits, Camels, Goats, Deer, Antalopes, GAH! So many!
The Giraffes were the best! One followed us as we walked around it's pen and came up to us so we could pet him. Lol their tongues are SO long too! XD

Just as an update, I'll be off to ACEN 2012 this weekend, I'm kinda running around getting stuff ready for ACEN and helping my mom clean the house for an event she's having while I'm gone, so I'm a bit frantic. It'll be my first time to the Midwest and Chicago, but I am SO excited for it!

I can say that the current conventions I am planning on attending are as follows:

Anime North (May 25-27, Toronto, ON)

Youmacon (November 1-4, Detroit, MI)

I left on Friday for Con-G, though the con didn't start until Saturday. I ran into Ackson that night where he was so kind as to: a) grab the wi-fi password, b) let me store my bags in my room until my roommate arrived, and c) let me have a Breezer whilst I waited. Unfortunately, I'm not going to be a doing a bunch of photo shoots at Con-G. I do want to do some random shoots, so pulling random cosplayers I like and doing some on the spot shoots.

However, I have given time to do a total of 3 booked photo shoots. The reason for the low amount is strictly because of school work. Con-G happens at the beginning of my Reading Week/March Break, so I will have a week to do the edits for these shoots, do projects that will be due upon my return to classes, and have some me time. So as you can see it's not a lot of time, but I do still want to do some shoots.

This is a tat I've wanted for about the last 2 years and could never quite schedule an appointment for. But luckily, the at tattoo shop that is down the street from my college had an walk-in opening for the artist I wanted and so I jumped at the opportunity and got it done. :)

It's script going around my ankle that says "What goes around comes around" that I designed.

I got the tattoo at Good Point Tattoo and Piercings in Oakville, ON.

So happy I got this done! And surprisingly, didn't hurt as much as I thought. Now that it's been a year, I am so happy and thankful for a wonderful time I have had on my first year out. I'm amazed that I actually manage to fill slots for photo shoots and that people want to shoot with me. I started doing this as a hobby with friends and though it's still a hobby, I can still enjoy it and have it ease some of my financial strain when it comes to paying my way to conventions. 2011 was a fantastic year for me, in retrospect. Started up this deviantART account, started going pro with my costly photography, got to meet so many wonderful and amazing people, began the second half of my program (of which the most recent semester yielded better grades than I expected to get).

Just overall, I had a wonderful year! Thanks to everyone who helped and supported me in my endeavors and I hope 2012 will be just as memorable!
