Community Choice time: Wacom Dreams Contest

I'm excited for all those who made it as a semi-finalist for the Wacom Dreams Contest. Now's the time for the Community to choose their favorite, and I am in hopes that more people will see my entry [link] and fave it.

I may not be the Community Choice, but I still hope I can be a contender. I don't know if any of the people who watch me see my journals, or if anyone really reads what I write, but I hope that this journal entry reaches you. I hope you'll fave my drawing. It is one of my favorites, and it is one that I put the most time and effort into. Even if you don't fave it, I hope you'll go see it, and that you'll at least comment.

Updates and plans

Hey... So I realize I haven't updated my journal in a while. I have a really bad habit of that, and for that I apologize. A lot has happened reccently. I moved a couple months ago, and just a few weeks ago my brother and his wife had a little baby boy. He's adorable, and I'm loving being an Aunt.

I am planning to do more art, I just have been in a bit of a artist block for the past while. I know I need to create something for my Uncle for his birthday, but beyond that I don't really have any goals I'm working toward. I am excited 'cause at the end of November there is a Renn faire that I really want to go to. It's an Arts and Crafts fair, and I'm hoping it'll be a place where maybe I can sell my art. Yes, you heard me right. I might actually try selling my art. We'll see what happens. It wouldn't be until next year at the soonest anyhow, but... maybe. We'll also have to see what happens when I start school next Fall. I am planning to major in Music Performance (that part hasn't changed) with a minor in Fine Arts. I really miss taking art classes, and they teach a lot. Even if it's only technique and basic concepts... it fine tunes my abilities, and I'm in need of that right now.

Anyhow... I need to get to bed before I fall asleep at the computer. I'd love to hear some comments from you guys... *hint hint* I really do enjoy talking with you, and getting to know your opinions.

The beauty of art

Okay... so I've been keeping relatively busy lately. I reccently finished making a tie skirt, and a cute embellishment that I don't know what to call it, also made of ties. I also reccently finished a drawing/painting, that I have uploaded. And! Yesterday I was able to get a pair of shoes from Wal-Mart to draw on. I'll have to get pictures of all three of those projects. I'm really pleased with how they turned out, and I am anxious to hear what you think!

I am also still working hard on my contest entry for the Bring Your Vision To Life contest. It has quite a few more hours to go before it'll be done, but I'm pleased, and pleasantly surprised, with how it's turning out. I'll upload another WIP here soon, but so far the changes aren't ultra noticable.

After I'm done with this digital painting for the contest, I'm going to take it easy on art for a bit. I have a tendancy to get so enveloped in my art world that I forget everything else, not to mention... my social skills diminish to like.... maybe 5% on a good day.

I still need to get my art from my Hava-lil-faith account switched over, so you'll still be seeing art showing up on here, but most of it won't be super new. By the way, does anyone know how to delete an account, or is that even possible?

Okay... so I've decided I'd rather have all my forms of art in one gallery, it's easier to handle... and yeah. *laughs* So I'll be deleting everything for my Hava-lil-faith acct, and my Dreams-Endure acct, and putting it all here. Oh, I'll be uploading new stuff as well... so keep an eye out.

::Edit:: I've finished switching all my poems and such over, next I get to switch all my digital art from my Hava-lil-faith acct over. Anyhow... that'll have to be another day... life is crazy right now.

Lil' Update on Life...

Okay, so I just wanted to give you a bit of an update, plus I got tired of just seeing the same journal entry! *laughs* I have a hearing date, and will soon be a single woman again! Don't know that anyone really cares, but I thought I'd tell you anyhow. I honestly don't know who all reads my journal entries. Okay... so I'm rambling, but I'm happy!

I've been working on my story a lot lately. I'm really liking how it is coming along, and I hope that I'll be able to start uploading chapters here soon. Who knows... but in the mean time here's a snippet from my story:

I am a man without a past, and whose very existence is enigmatic. A few years ago, Razheender told me of suspicions he had about me, though he dared not voice them for quite some time. Indeed my name, Ammon Raphael ManwÃ«, only established RazheenderÂs misgivings about me. Ammon, "Son of the Light", Raphael, "God has healed", ManwÃ«, "Pure." My very name tied me to a past that no longer existed, and threatened to destroy any hope of a future.

Character List...

Fayeth MorgensternÂ Princess of Azure NandÃ«. Often mistaken for a commoner, Fayeth treats everyone she meets as her equal, and is the favorite of the people. She can often be found frolicking in the meadows near her home, or alone in a secluded forest. Sweet and innocent, Fayeth is a dreamer, but she has a secret that may destroy her.

ShawÂkenah Morgenstern-DugÃlÂ A prophecy fulfilled, and beauty of the Avenaria. Selfless, and loving, ShawÂkenah has a big heart and is quick to help those about her. She is strong willed, and doesnÂt let anything or anyone hold her back. She also has a rarely seen, and even more rarely survived, explosive temper.

Ammon Raphael ManwÃ«Â Very little is known about Ammon. He appears to be a man without a past or family, and who, by all rights, shouldnÂt even be alive. Though his very existence is enigmatic, he is one of ShawÂkenahÂs closest confidants. One of deep convictions, this mysterious stranger seems to have an unusual connection with Fayeth.

Keithandreu MyrandaoÂ Quiet and, well quiet. Keithandreu, or Keithan for short, is a man of few words and great inscrutability. HeÂs strong and loyal to those he cares about. Self appointed guardian to both ShawÂkenah and Fayeth, no one knows who he is guarding them from, but he seems to keep a close eye on both Ammon and Lerato.

Nevan MorgensternÂ Guardian of the Immortal Realm. Nevan is one of the few humans who were permitted to stay in the Immortal Realm after the Great War. As part of the Morgenstern family, his legacy is to protect the Immortal Realm and all the inhabitants therein.

Aislin Tatyana EruvandÃ«Â Queen of Azure NandÃ«. A kind and loving leader, Aislin is the last of the EruvandÃ« women. She was there during the days of peace, and awaits the day when the prophecy will be fulfilled.

Maura RanvierÂ Duchess of Sanctum Eglen. Not much is known about Maura. To many she is a woman without a past. After she saved the Princess of the Delfians, she quickly found favour with the Delfian Queen and was bestowed with the title of Duchess. Dark and mysterious, she has the grace and poise of a Queen. Adding to her mystery, no one ever sees her in the light of day.

Dahlia RohzÂ Lady of Othrond Patricus. Dahlia hates her Delfian heritage, and longs to be rejoined with the Eveningstar Elves. Shortly after the passing of her mother, she and her Father, Aster, moved to Othrond Patricus. DahliaÂs only hope came from what, at first, seemed like a forbidden friendship.

Lerato DugÃl AntonymyrÂ Mercenary for hire. Lerato is one of the last of a dying race known as the KÂenagra. He is incredibly loyal to his friends, but equally treacherous to those who wrong him. He learned at a young age to hate the Delfians.

Marivale Nicole MorgensternÂ Princess of Azure NandÃ«. Marivale is FayethÂs protective older sister, she is one of the few who know FayethÂs secret. Destined to be Queen one day, Marivale spends much of her time in at school in the Mortal Realm.

Ayali RanvierÂ Crowned Princess of Sanctum Eglen, and beloved of the Queen. Young and ridiculously silly, Ayali will flirt with anything on legs, and often places herself in great danger in the process. Though heir to the throne, she is rarely taken seriously.

Melori RanvierÂ Queen of Sanctum Eglen. Haughty and unfeeling, Melori takes great pleasure in manipulating others. Though rarely seen, her presence and influence are far reaching, and her wrath devastating.

Aster RohzÂ Duke of Othrond Patricus.

Okay, so life has continued to keep me busy lately. Thankfully some of what has kept me so busy is creative.

I have a ton of projects (well it feels like it anyhow) that I'm working on. I designed a shirt for my brother a few years ago, and have never actually finished it, but I'm finally nearing completion two years later! I also just designed a shirt for my sister(in law) for Christmas, but apparently I didn't secure the beads well enough 'cause every time she wears the shirt a new bead decides to try and pop off. *shrugs* I'll figure it out eventually. I also created a design for a tie for my Dad, but I haven't actually started on the tie yet. Between the design and the fact that I'm having to learn embroidery stitches, it'll be a while before I finish it. I'm also currently working on writing music for a song I wrote back in December.

As for drawing projects, I have a long list of drawings I want to do. I'm currently working on a drawing that my sister (in law) requested over a year ago that she wanted to give to my brother, but until recently I didn't have the time. I started on the basic sketch back on the 1st, and just started the final drawing today. I'm hoping to have it finished by their anniversary so she can give it to him. If I get it done before their anniversary, I won't be uploading it until after because I don't want my brother to chance seeing it before my sister (in law) gives it to him.

I'm also in the planning stage for drawing the rest of my characters from the Morningstar Legacy. It may be a while before I draw everyone as I'm trying to use pictures of my friends and family as photo references for many of the characters, and I don't have any recent pictures of them to use. As for the "villians" don't be surprised if you see me drawing them first. I'm only using photos of my friends and family for the good characters. Life happens...

Okay, so I had a couple of minutes so I thought I'd update you on what's been happening in my life in the past year and half. To say my life has been crazy, is quite an understatement. HereÂs a brief summary of whatÂs been happening in my life, just so you get an idea of why I havenÂt been drawing much.

September-October 2007
-I turned 21, and went back to school for the Fall quarter.
-I took an English class and a song writing class which kept really pretty busy most of the quarter.

November 2007
-My good friend Rebekah started hanging out with my family, and there were very few days when we didn't see her.
-Thanksgiving came and went.

December 2007
-Life got hectic with the Holidays approaching.
-Wrote my ÂfinalÂ song(including music), and my ÂfinalÂ paper.
-My brother and Rebekah got engaged.

January 2008
-Wedding plans made life crazy, Christopher and Rebekah were planning on getting married in February. Needless to say, I didnÂt go to school Winter quarter.

February 2008
-Christopher and Rebekah got married
-Grandma had her 75th birthday.

March 2008
-I went to a dance and met a guy, and we started goinÂ out.
-Life got crazy again with going back to school.
-Calvin (the guy) started hanging out with my family and me a lot.

April 2008
-My brother had a birthday.
-We got engaged and we planned on being married in June.

May-June 2008
-We broke off the engagement, but remained friends.
-Mom had a birthday.
-Finals happened, and I barely passed my classes.
-My family and I went camping over the weekend Calvin and I were originally going to get married.

July 2008
-Not a lot happened. The summer was rather slow, but it was also really good.

August-September 2008
-I was able to draw a 16Âx 20Â drawing.
-Calvin and I got engaged again and got married on Sept. 6th.
-I turned 22.
-We all went on vacation to Montana.
-We took another trip to Montana and made preparations for moving.

October 2008
-We moved to Montana.
-2 weeks after we got to Montana I was hired at MacyÂs.
-We somehow got unpacked before we all started working at our new jobs.

November 2008
-Life got crazy again from settling in and keeping busy working.
-Thanksgiving came and went, it was strange not having any extended family around.
-I started getting creative again, and began working on projects for Christmas presents.

December 2008
-Rebekah had a birthday.
-I continued working on Christmas presents.
-I got a text on my phone from Calvin, saying that he was leaving the next day to go back to Washington.
Â· -We agreed to get a divorce as soon as I had residency in Montana (have to have lived here for 90 days before you can file for divorce).
-He left two days after the text (only Âcause I asked him to stay another day).
-Christmas came and went. It was a good Christmas.
-I quit my job at MacyÂs due to health reasons.

January 2009
-I wrote a new song and uploaded it to my :icon dreams-endure: account
-I drew on my face and took some pictures, for my own photo references.
-I started working on a drawing, and have been taking pictures all along the way.
-Got frustrated Âcause the computer hates my memory card, and I canÂt find my cord so I can upload my pictures that way.
-I finished the drawing, scanned it in and uploaded it so you guys can see it.
-IÂm still waiting for the 90 days to be complete (almost there).

I know life has more than likely been crazy for many of you, and so I have no room to complain. I just wanted to let you know what has been happening.
I'm hoping to be able to start drawing more often. After working on my drawing of Maura, I've decided I want to do something similar for the rest of the characters in my story.

Okay okay okay... I'm done with the jokes.

So after a long absence I am back. I am working toward getting some artwork done that I can submit to you guys. Things have been crazy around here these past few months (that's the understatement of the year...well of the last year anyhow).

I did have a chance to draw on my face yesterday though, and I got pictures of it! *points to her gallery* I'm currently preparing to draw, or paint... not sure which, something new. I'm just getting ideas and reference pictures together right now, so expect to see something within the next few weeks. :0)

I also have had a chance to write a new song that you can read on my acount. It's called "Hope For Everlasting Peace." It's a more relgious one than most of the songs I've written, but it fits a lot of how I've been feeling these past few months. As I said... things have been crazy.

¡Hola!

Just wanted you all to know I am not dead, I have not abandoned you, I've just been incredibly busy.

I'm absolutely loving school! My classes are fascinating, my teachers are fantastic, and I just have to say I've been incredibly blessed since I started going back to school. Last quarter was my first quarter back in over a year, and it was my first quarter as a full time student. I'm no longer an art major, I'm a music performance major. I haven't once regretted switching my major. Music has become a real passion of mine, and I am still just so excited about what I'm learning. And there's so much to learn too!!!

I've not had much of a life beyond school lately (at least not enough of one to be able to draw). I am hoping to draw something this summer before school starts up again this fall. We'll see how that one goes.

Anyone have any ideas of things you'd like to see me draw?

Okay so I really am working toward drawing something again. I haven't felt like I've really drawn much reccently that I've really taken my time on and really worked at. I'm hoping to start on something here soon that will probably be something that takes a lot of time. This may not be untill after I finish my Christmas presents for my family, but if I go the route with those gifts that I think I'm going... you won't have to wait long before I start on my next drawing. I'll try to take some WIP pictures of this one so you can kind of get an idea of how I draw.

If you guys have any ideas of what you'd like to see me draw... send me a message! I love getting messages, and I'd love to hear what you think. I can always use ideas. Okay so I have 3 chapters and an alternate 3rd chapter complete. I'm still working on starting the 4th chapter. I'm getting ideas, and have written some things down for a couple future chapters, but so far it's mostly in the idea stage.

So here's a question I have for you. Hypothetically speaking, if I do put my story here on DA, which account should I put it on? or here? I seriously would like your reponses. Considering I have poetry on my Hava-lil-faith account it would make sense to put the story there. Unless of course I create a new account for my poetry and my story. *needs to start thinking up a username*

I say hypothetically speaking 'cause one I'm not done and it's taken me forever to start this story and I've already left you in suspense for a few years(those of you who visit me from Elfwood, or are friends that have known me for years)... and it's taking me months to get to chapter 4. In addition to that I don't trust the internet and I don't know how to put my story on here and still know for sure that it will not be published under someone elses name. If anyone has any tips, like html codes I could do to keep people from highlighting the story(using the cursor to highlight the text)... using printscreen... right clicking... any or all of those would be very helpful. I don't know a great deal of html, so it'd be very helpful to know some codes like that. How do you guys keep your stories from being stolen on here?

I really would like to hear your comments, and suggestions. I enjoy hearing from you guys and hearing your oppinions, it helps a great deal.

The Morningstar Legacy

Hey Guys!!!!

Great news! I've finally started writing The Morningstar Legacy! I've written 2 chapters so far and I'm currently working on the 3rd. There's still a lot more to come, but it'll be great(I hope). It'll be great to finally have it written down so I can quit sayin' "I need to write this down someday." *laughs* Well I finally am, and in some ways it's taken a different course than I originally planned, but I'm liking the way it's going. I've started to understand the characters better since I started writing it, you don't get the same.... understanding or relationship with the characters when you're drawing them as you do when you're writing about them and basically becoming them. At least that's how I see it. It's been a lot of fun writing this. I'm excited about having added Shaw'kenah into the story, and I've reccently added other characters as well.

Yeah I know I haven't been updating my stuff lately. I've been busy with other things, but I have been thinking about drawing. I think I kinda got burnt out after doing the 60hour drawing for my mom. I will draw again I promise. I'm currently rethinking my story dealing with Fayeth, and there's gonna be a new character involved. She'll be taking the place of Danica(I know most of you don't know who Danica is anyhow but I'm just letting you know. Anyhow with her appearance it'll change the story a bunch from how I originally planned it. One of these days I need to just tell you guys the basic story and then embellish it from there in actual story form. Anyhow incase you're wondering the new character's name is Shaw'kenah. You're probably thinkin' "what the heck?" Well it's a slight inside joke. My brother and I were out looking for fireworks on the 4th and couldn't find any of the TNT kind of fireworks. All we could find was "shock and awe" Well we got to seeing "shock and awe" so much and saying it so much that it blurred. I started sayin' "shockanawe" as one word. Well it sounded kewl so I decided to make the the name of a character but I had to change the spelling. Thus Shaw'kenah was born. That actually works for her though 'cause when people see her they're in shock and awe because of her extreme beauty and the fact that she's a winged elf. She's basically the fulfilling of a prophecy. She's come to help unite all the nations of the elves, those who follow the morningstar and those who follow the evenstar. Fayeth and her family are guardians of the morningstar(morgenstern is german for morningstar). Well Fayeth's Aunt ,Tru Lynn, marries an elf who's a guardian of the evenstar. This marriage and the fact that they have a child(their first to be exact) is a fulfillment of the prophecy. "When the morningstar and the evenstar come together, their union will produce a child who will unite the two nations forever." Anyhow that's a synopsis of what's in my head!

Hi,
I've just started switching my traditional art over to this account, 'cause this is my traditional art DA account. My other account you will probably be more familiar with, my digital art account is . Anyhow, I'm in the process of deleting the traditonal art from my hava-lil-faith account and switching it over to here. I will start to upload the art on this account once they are all off of my hava-lil-faith account, as I would like to keep all my art uploaded in chronological order if possible. ^_^ I hope I haven't confused people too much. I'll keep you posted as to how it's coming along. ^_^

I've uploaded 63 of 122 pictures so far. hee hee! (seriously) That's 20002-early 2004 and 2004 is 79 of the pictures. hee hee ^_^ I'm getting there, just not quite fast enough. Sorry! Thanks for you patience!
