Trust me, I have lots of good reasons why I've been missing in action:

1. Worked two jobs for a while...on the plus side, the credit cards are paid off!

2. Promoted at work...awesomeness...the added responsibilities actually feel good.

3. Moved to the big city (now I have a 20 minute drive as opposed to a 40 minute drive).

4. Scanner died...so I'm getting one of those sweet wireless printer/scanners when I save up the money.

5. I ran out of gas. I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts. IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!

The the immortal words of Han Solo...it's not my fault.

Anyhoo, I'm now volunteering at two churches -- although I have this 5th grade thing down so well, I'm actually NOT scared I'll screw up this year.

I'm more to ritzy Carrollwood (the Tampa Bay epicenter of stay-at-home moms, I think), the bunnies (except for Dakota God bless his little pink nose) are chilling by the kitchen.

Oh yeah, and I'm actually doing artwork again...yay...

Okay, for those of you that don't know, I didn't know a Ratchet from a Ratbat until a year ago when I saw the Transformers trailer before the second Pirates movie. I decided to go rent the ENTIRE old series. That show actually held up pretty well for a twenty-year old cartoon based on a toyline.

And I just got back from seeing the movie. Holy cow. It was awesome. I never was a Bumblebee fan, and now I think he's the cutest little trick pony ever. I was left wanting more, but not in a bad way. More like 'the sequel's going to kick even more butt' sort of way.

So, go 'roll out' and check out the movie.

Okay, so listen up everyone. Got to give my kid brother props for introducing me to Avatar. Sure, I watched a few random episodes back in college (Appa does look all cute and fluffy), but he convinced me to Netflix the first season.

Dang! What a show. I wish I had stuff like this as a kid. This series has been solid the whole way through. Nothing really dragged, and the characters are more engaging than I thought they would be. Two thumbs way up.

So, rent or buy the series. That is all.

So, there will be no computer artwork until I get a new computer.

Why, do you ask?

Because I finally broke down and bought an iPod, for two reasons:

1. I need a mp3 player for work, to pass time.

2. Because it seemed like a good idea to get all this music off my 40 GB computer and onto a 30 GB iPod. Makes sense, right?

Except iTunes has complete screwed up my computer. Internet takes hours. Can't run AOL IM at the same time. Windows are freezing. Hell is taking over. And apparently Mac people think it's 'cool' not to include an instruction book in the box, so you have to go online to access help. But I need my computer to not be on the fritz to access an online manuel.

So, Christmas is coming up, and I'm making my own cards this year. I'm painting pictures of Dakota (my bunny) in watercolor and ink, sort of like the Beatrix Potter illustrations (the awesome woman who created Peter Rabbit).

I'm going for six to eight smaller drawings, each one showing a different Christmas scene. I have one with Dakota sleeping next to cookies and milk for Santa, for example. I'm still short a few ideas, so if anyone wants to suggest an idea, I'd welcome the help. I'm doing a practice round in the next day or so, testing out colors and learning how to paint a convincing wood floor. I'll post the progress as well too.

Happy Holidays!
