I got a digitalo camera for Christmas, so now I will have no reason to paint things larger than my scanner! Happy . . .

I am also starting to work on my costume- I'm going to an anime convention in the spring, so I'm cosplaying as Byakuya from Bleach ^_^ Part of it should be done this week, hopefully, but it depends when I buy material and start sewing it . . . I'll post pictures whenever that happens.

And since I have discovered that I have expensive hobbies (like art . . . and foreign music.) I will be offering commission soon, in the chance that I can make some money that way.

So I survived Thanksgiving It was nice, but way too short. And I have way too much work to do. Yea verily yea. I hope I don't get sick.

Also, I am fundamentally, morally opposed to writing essays. Blah.

I've been working on a painting, but it probably won't show up here for a while, due to my aforementioned lack of time. I'll still be on DA a lot though . . . ah procrastination. It's an art form in itself XD

I've been thinking about selling my artwork, either as prints or commissions. I think doing commissions would be more practical for me, since I have no access to a print shop at this point (unless I sign up for a print account on DA, which I'm considering but probably won't do).
I don't expect to make a lot of money or anything, but it would be nice to have another source of income.


So, does anyone think this is a reasonable idea? (basically, do you think anyone would buy anything?) Prints or commissions? (or both?) Any thoughts on what would be a reasonable price?

I have some ideas, but I want a few opinions before I decide on anything

What is not cool is the numbness of half my face, because I had to go to the dentist and get some cavities fixed. I can't feel my lip! Auggghhhhh

Let's see . . . I'm working on a couple pics, one in colored pencil, one in marker (I just bought some Prismacolor markers- they are very nifty, but I don't really know what I'm doing). I also have a very large oil painting to work on, which I hate at the moment, but I think I've come up with a solution to fix it. Also, hopefully Ch 3 of Diamonds and Rust will be done by the end of this week . . . I was having issues with it, but it's almost done.

Short entry today, I don't feel like writing much more right now.

It was messed up before that, though . . .

It's depressing. I spent parts of the last few days watching Bleach on YouTube,and now I can't watch anymore until I find a funtioning computer (I can't use the laptop unless the mother one goes somewhere, she thinks if we use her laptop for extended periods of time it will be overcome by viriuses, possessed by demons, and in general stop working. O.o) I'm only up to episode 24 or 25, I forget exactly.

I hate typing on this thing. Random letters don't appear when I think I've hit them, so I'm blaming all spelling errors on this computer-beast thing.


Next week I'll be visiting my crazy relatives (good crazy relatives, not obnoxious ones ), for WEAVING CAMP! Well, that's what we call it anyway. I think my brother will be weaving, because he has to finish last year's project, and we have our aunt's other loom, so I'm making floor mats. It's some weird idea my aunt came up with, but I'm not opposed to it . . . I might need a floor mat in college, something to weird my roommate out with. Not that that won't happen without any effort on my part . . .


. . . So I won't really be able to work on any art or writing or anything . . . I won't be on the computer at all either, most likely.

Ah, I almost forgot- Does anyone have any idea where to buy Ecoline (its sort of like watercolors, or so I have read) in the United States? And how much it costs? I've only just started looking for it, because I want to try using it, but I don't think t exists in the U.S.,and I don't really want to order it from overseas.

I saw the second Pirates of the Carribean movie last night, it was really good. I'm kind of surprised . . . its seems that every time there's a sequel/trilogy thing one of the next 2 parts turns out really bad- or at least everyone complains about it.

There were one or two things that bothered me, but I won't complain about them now since not that many people have seen it yet and I don't want to ruin it for anyone.

I need the soundtrack. Yes indeed precious. And one of those coats from the 1700's with the button things up the front . . . if that makes any sense at all.

Yep. I haven't got any art projects going, but I have a lot of writing to do . . . and reading. I started reading this really long poem by Sir Walter Scott (Did he write something famous I should know? his name sounds familliar) called The Lady of the Lake. Its actually a small book, thats how long it is. Its about these people in scotland, I think in the late middle ages, I haven't figured out exactly when. Nothing to do with king Arthur, which is what I had assumed. It's interesting, and makes me want to draw plaid things.

It is sooo cool! I've never had a cell phone before because, well, I didn't really need one. But the one my parents bought me is this thin black thing with a camera and mp3 player thing attached (I didn't know they put those in phones O.o) Very cool. I guess I have to actually start talking to people on the phone now . . .

Graduating is a good thing. I should try it more often.

I think Monday I'm going to be getting my ears pierced again- not really high up, because I don't believe the people who say that doesn't hurt, and besides that's not really my thing. Just above the regular piercings, so I will actually wear my stud earrings. Mostly I wear crazy dangly ones, and forget to wear the studs.

La la la . . . ok, I'm done now. Maybe I'll try to put some music on my phone ^^

School seems to maybe-almost-kind of be winding down . . . just about time for someone to slap me with another essay to write. AP exams are coming up anyways, so I still have those to worry about.

I've heard from all the colleges I applied to, and I actually didn't get flat out rejected anywhere, which is nice
I got waitlisted at BC and Villanova, but they're both really hard to get into anyways

I won't be going to what was my first choice though . . . long ordeal involving much wailing and gnashing of teeth . . .
I dunno. From the beginning I said it doesn't really matter where you go, you'll always find someone to hang out with. I'm still going abroad junior year (barring sudden death or weird illnesses) hopefully to Ireland. I've wanted to go there for a long time.

I might upload some more writing soon, it depends on my motivation levels and whether I like what I'm writing.

I hope the weather gets warm again soon . . . I've been cold nonstop for the entire winter. >.<

My mom wants to go down there- the rest of us don't care that much. She thinks it's warmer down there, which it's not. She should know that by now . . .
I might be able to finish one of the three books I'm reading during the car ride. Or I could just stare into space for eight hours, like I usually do.

I had my first 'real' driving lesson today. I've driven all over the place with my parents, but we hadn'y gotten around to scheduling one with the driving school yet.
They made me drive on the highway, the jerks . . . it actually was easier than driving on curvy stupid streets, but it's the principle of the thing . . .

I should probably start studying for midterms, they're coming up in a week or two . . .
Seniors don't have finals anymore though, so at least these are the only big tests I'll have to take this year (other than 2 AP tests )
So, because of these impending tests that I won't actually study for until two days before, I probably won't be putting much art up, although we'll see how that works out . . .

I've finally finished college applications, so now my mom has switched from Finish-filling-out-these-forms mode to Ahhhh!-when-are-you-going-to-get-an-acceptance-letter mode. Fun. At least I'll be able to avoid hearing most of the sequel when my brother applies to college.

Hmmmm, yeah. I can't wait for Christmas break. I have a book I bought in September that I want to read. I would have started earlier, but I'm still working on The Tale of Genji(a reaaaally long book, and so far mostly a soap opera. Still intersting though) Over break I can kill a whole day reading, so I could probably finish up the other book, and then continue with Genji.

Well, in artistic news, I have a story that I'm working on that I may actually upload here, because it's moving along pretty quickly, for once. I also have a pic to go with it, although it has nothing to do with any part of the story I've written yet, but it has the main character.

One radio station has started playing Christmas songs (and ONLY Christmas songs), American comercialism hits full swing, I contemplate what I could buy people if I had more than one dollar to my name, the occasional crazy person continues the batle against mentioning anything religious in, oddly enough, a religious holiday-
Yet I still like Christmas.

A key part of it is avoiding malls like the plague, I think. Not having a license or a car helps too. I have only come up with one thing to ask for so far- there's not a lot I desperately want or need, and I feel bad asking for useless things.

I'd like to do a winter and Christmas-related pic, if I get around to it. College applications are almost done, but I have another essay to work on at some point. Stupid Psychology.

I am inheiriting a four by five foot Loom from my Aunt, who's having a baby and needs the room. Yay, I can weave!
Of course, I don't have a warping board, but I can make one.
Not to mention that I have nowhere to put it . . .

I'm sure none of that made any sense.

I can't wait for Thanksgiving, for no particular reason. It's a real vacation maybe?

I spent most of today working on an acrylic painting I started, when I should have been doing more useful things. I haven't painted with acrylics in a bit, but I like how it's coming, so far.

I watched a weird British ghost/haunted thing last night. Which is weird, because I haven't watched T.V. at all in a while. My brother was watching it. It was kind of funny, mostly because of this weird psychic guy and the British accents.
I love accents.

Stupid college.
Filling out the common App online is a pain. They have all of these stupid questions which you have to select the answers to, and of course the answer you want to put down isn't there . . .

The jerks.

I only have one major piece (colored pencil on illustration board) I'm working on now, so I can actually start some new stuff.

Now to find references . . .
I want to sew something else. Like a shirt. Only It would probably be too weird to wear in public . . . I could always wear it around my house, to the mall, to my weird relatives houses . . .

I like elipseses. However you spell that.

Maybe I'll skip dance tonight so I can work on my essay. I feel bad missing dance, but I kind of don't want to go . . .

I've seen artwork done with it, but I'm slightly concered about being able to find any . . .

So my brother's in school today, so that means I have the house to myself until he and my mom get back. Which isn't as exciting as it sounds, because not only am I still typing that psychology essay, but my house makes weird noises.

This is all some kind of plot, isn't it?

And somehow between typing and procratinating I've managed to line up about three more pieces of art that need finishing. I should probably work on the painting, but then, I should also type this essay.

I have school tomorrow. Well, it's not even school, really, it's 'get locker-pass in papers-fill things out-listen to some member of the administration talk.'

Summer was way too short.

I refuse to work on it today, out of principle. I'm going to regret it next week, but oh well. Procrastination hasn't failed me yet.

We have a new car, because the old one died. The transmission, to be exact. I didn't really have any attachment to the paint-peeling-off-locks-don't-work-green-mini-van anyways. Although the new car is some type of SUV-oid thing, and I have a personal thing against SUV's. It's a smaller one at least. And it's shiny.

I liked Loyola and Scranton. CUA seemed pretty un-catholic for a catholic college, but maybe that's just because I didn't like it at all. It was almost kind of snobby. I didn't really like St. Joe's either. Villanova was nice. So was Georgetown, but its HUGE. As in way too huge.

Tomorrow I'm leaving to visit yet another college.
You think perhaps this may be overkill?
My mother is insane. . .

I spent today working on various pieces of unfinished art that's been kicking around my room, which other than the oil paintings are unlikely to be finished anytime soon. And then it'll take another month for me to upload them. Sigh.

Most of the colleges I'm visiting are in either Penn., Virginia, and Maryland. I'll be gone for about a week. Fortunately, I like road trips.

I finished the class part of drivers ed. I won't be able to get my license until December some time though. It's not like I really intend to drive a lot of places anyway.

I haven't started packing yet. I'll do that tomorrow.

sewing a cloak
one college tour and interview
a lot of drawings, a few paintings(most of which I keep forgetting to upload)

I have no idea what I'm going to do with the cloak. Wear it around my backyard I guess. Or maybe up to Maine, because I don't know anyone other than family up there, so I can be as weird as I want Theoretically.

I haven't even started summer reading yet. Groan.
However, I did finish reading Harry Potter. The 6th one.

So that makes three new books that I've read this summer. I need to go to the library.

My mom signed me up for a SAT Kaplan course. Ick. Darn. Drat. I don't want to go to class in the summer . . .

I am FREE!!!

Actually, I have been for a few days now, but whatever. I'm in a really weird mood. For one thing, I spasmodically decided that I need to repaint my room this summer (well, its only been what, eight years?) so I sort of started clearing old stuff out of my room today. I didn't get much accomplished.

I also got started looking through National Geographic in search of reference pics, and came across a really depressing article about Chechnya. The area's bombed out, people dissapear and that sort of thing, I didn't read most of the article. The photos pretty much got the point across.

I really hate people some days.

I am suddenly realizing that I have a lot of stuff to accomplish this vacation. Stupid college. Stupid SAT things.

And I don't particularly want to see the grade on my English final. I sort of got distracted in the multiple choice, and then ran out of time on other parts. It wasn't a really hard test, though.

I should probably go to bed now.

In the meantime, I still have a history paper to type. Oh joy.

Junior year was devised for the sole pupose of killing off students. I predicted that when I had to read The Bell Jar and One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest for summer reading. Any teacher who repeatedly assigns you books about insane people clearly does not want you to live.

In other realms of insanity, I have a couple pics to upload, and will do so when it is convenient for me. Which will probably be later today, it depends.

Last week-end was my dance recital. I'm so glad dance is over, it sucks up way too much of my time. Unfortunately for my time, I like dance. Even though the people I dance with can be rather irksome. Actually, they can be a heck of a lot more than irksome, but I won't go there.

As usual, that was kind of all over the place.

I spent this morning wandering around the swamp in my backyard with a camera, a sheet, and my brother so I could take some decent reference pictures.(you haven't lived until you've crawled through muddy ponds with an old sheet, hoping that your neighbors don't decide that its a nice day to take a walk in the forest . . .)
So hopefully, I should have some more interesting poses in future pieces.
I've been going into withdrawl because elfwood is down again.
*curses the evilness of computers and their malfunctions*
But in the meantime I'm almost finished with a portrait that I started yesterday (which actually seems to be coming out ok- at least I don't completely loathe it.) Maybe I can upload some stuff later today.

Theoretically, I should be reading history or bio, but I'm guessing that isn't going to happen any time soon.

Actually, it's kind of turned into 'Happy Irish Day', but what the heck. Green's a nice color.

I've had a song called 'Lily the Pink' stuck in my head all day, because my brother made a CD of weird random Irish songs. For all intents and purposes, its a drinking song. Not good to have stuck in your head when you're trying to take a test. It's also part of my dad's extensive collection of really annoying or really poorly sung folk music. Be very grateful your relatives don't listen to folk music. It mainly consists of people like Bob Dillan, only most of them are worse.

I think I did decently on the english part, who knows about the math. It seemed easier than some of the practice tests I did, which could go either way.

Its snowing again. If it snows anymore, I think my mother might incite a revolution.

I have 2 AP tests on monday- Bio and history. I'm sick of tests. I'm also sick of studing.

I'm sort of working on another watercolor, I've drawn out part of it, so maybe I can upload it in a week or two.

My foot hurts. I somehow whacked it really hard on a doorway this morning, and now my toes hurt. It doesn't look bruised though, so it can't be broken. . .

And I'm cold, because my mom's laptop is in the basement and when I use the other computer I am attacked by pop-ups. *Curses pop-ups*

Yeah. So nothing really exciting. My sort-of cousin is flying in next week-end, so I guess we have to pick her up at the airport. She's not the most loathsome of my cousins, but neither is she the best . <----- parallel structure. I expect its wrong. Stupid english.

Mrs. Ricci was way too positive today. Especially as the short story was about people dying, and then she started talking about that guy who had to cut his arm off to free himself from the boulder he was stuck under. I really don't care to dwell on such topics. Not often, anyway.

My day wasn't really as bad as it sounds, I guess(well, except for the toe-thing; I think its starting to go numb, although that might just be the temperature)

For once there aren't 50 million relatives running around my house. Yay. My neighbors have a huge yellow and white striped pavillion, however. Apparently they weren't so lucky. It depends on the relatives though . . .

now I feel like I'm on Christmas vacation, which is weird.
My mom was wandering around trying to kill people, because she hates snow, but it looks nice. And snow is better than those winters where the grass is frozen in little, curled up, dead, crunchy lines, and everything looks so depressing you just want to crawl in a corner somewhere and mutter incoherently at every random passerby.

I didn't think it would accumulate this much, but it hasn't stopped yet. Too bad it didn't come Sunday night.

Also, last night, my parents abandoned me here, because my dad won a free nights stay at the Crowne Plaza from some work thing, and my brother and I decided to come back home after dinner. My parents are so trusting, we could've done pretty much anything . . .
Or it could just be that we live in the middle of nowhere.
yeah, that's it.

I had an orthodondist appoitment yesterday. I hate that guy. I hate braces. I now have to wear a rubber band on one side. Great, my jaw's going to be even more messed up than it already is. I checked the package to see if tey were made in China, so that I could have some grounds for not wearing them, but they're made in the USA. Oh well, I dobt he would have bought it anyway.

And not to be completely random or anything, I had Rote Grütze, this weird (but good) German fruit pudding/jelly-ish type of thing, with vanilla sauce for breakfast. Its supposed to be a dessert, but I usually eat desserts for breakfast.

Ok, I'm done now, you can get on with your usual lives unhindered by my constant ravings.
