(Though still feel free to look up Smither5er; nom-nom-nom.us and half-brain.fr where my favourit servers, whose forums I continue to lurk on.)

Also, there's an Anime & Mango club here, which is kinda cool, and a University Aikido club, which involves a lot of being thrown on the floor, but I goes theres anyways. Also, maybe going to Austria in 2 years, sweet.

I might start updating this regularly again.

I want into this building where there were art galleries & cafes with swinging jazz!
Then today, asside from seeing the royal buildings & the Vasa ship museum, we went to a Burger King in the central square, and when we came out, there was an Iraqi rock band playing rock/jazz and there were banners spreading anti-americanism, peace & criticism of the Iraq war! Then near by, there were some Indian dudes (as in american indians) playing their music in the street!

I wanna live in Stockholm!

The deadline for the portfolio is the first but I think we can get it done, and our assigned customer has been informed of our progress.

5) And at last, most of the arrangements for Sweden (including who stays with who) have been made, so I'm all exited about going again.

LOADS has happened since my last update, so I want to replace it quick.

Firstly, I haven't had internet at my computer for over a week, which explains my inactivity (I still got to stuff from my dad's laptop for 5 minutes every-now-and-then).

Right, keeping it brief.
- Holiday feeling died on the 28th when I started planning my homework around variouse stuff, spent the day doing maths.
- We (family) leave for London to inspect the flat my mum rents out after some renovation work.
- We return from London on the 30th for New Year's Eve (an awsome 2 nights).
- I have some connection problems next morning, but fix them. Spent the day finnishing my math. Catch my dad fiddling on the computer (which he never normaly touches) and says that the internet isn't working. Spend the evening trying to fix it.
- New Year's Eve Spend all day trying to fix the £"%$*@# thing! Phone BT, they can't help. I try a system re-store, but whilst waiting for confermation of the restore, I realise I need to plug a mouse in the computer (the tablet didn't work because it was set to before christmass). I my atempt to pull the tablet wire out, I knock the loose power cable out, now a system start-up file is "missing or corrupt" so on computer.
- I was doing the same peice of work for the rest of the week, but I finaly got all 4 pages done today, and the other 23 page task done (well, sort of).

Now it's school tommorow (Teacher's training today), and I have untill thursday afternoon to get a major project done . . .

Oh-yeah, one final thing, it's 2008, and I'm misssing 07 already (that year just rocked so much.)

It was my sister's birthday today, and I greeted her by holding everyone up when I overslept (too be fair, I hadn't got to sleep 'till 1 AM, and I'd wocken up at 6:30, writhing in indigestion pain).

Anyway, a family friend had booked her family and ours, tickets to go see The Golden Compass in the Odeon after lunch in Swansea, but I was still grumpy all morning (arguments with my dad, dreading the film, dreading the work I have to do).
I perked up after we pick them up, and the rest of the day went smoothly, I had an Americano pizza (peporani & pork) which was delisious, we saw the film, before returning to the friend's house for an hour-or-two. (They have a Wii!!)

Anyway here's a few words about the 2 highlights of my day:

====Very long after here=====

The Golden Compass
- Before I start on the film, I have to say that I read all 3 of the books 4 times when I was 13 & 14, and I absolutly loved them. They inspired several of my views on many topics and are prehaps the single most influential peices of litrature I've ever read.
Now, the film itself I first read about in a forum on a fan-site. It was mainly speculation, but it was enough for me to decide that I wouldn't like it. When I saw an advert for it on the Television two years later, my fears were prooved correct, and as I saw more trailers, posters & previews, I hated it more and more. I nearly saw it last week with the EESW team, but we saw Beowulf instead.
When the credits started to roll earlier today, I wasn't wollowing in dissapointment, or shouting at any blatent miss-interpritations, but I hadn't been transported back to the book, I felt the film didn't live up to the story, the book, or writer it was all based on.

The major failiure for the film was that it didn't have the same sense of atmosphere and character the book did. I didn't feel the same sense of magic from the deamons, the same feeling of fear of the goblers & the majerterium, the same sense of childhood, anger, excitment, or the same sense of tragedy & adventure.

There was also the issue of the characters. Lyra was too much of a hero; in the book she's a snoty, arrogent, lying, cowardly, inoccent, troublemaking child. Lyra is a lier, she cheats & misbehavesm and there was non of that. The Gyptians were too unified & proffesional, too organised; there wern't the arguments, the trechery, the mistakes that plauged them in the book.

And lastly, it went too fast. The first book was slow & dull; it started off quite normal and gradually it became weirder, got less realistic, and more fantastic. The film skiped whole settings & important scenes like the fire drill, the shooting of the gyptian spies, the scholar's scemetry, Lord Asril's lab in the arctic, the Armoured Bear's prison and Roger's death!!
All-in-all, it's a good film and I would recomend it to anyone who didn't like, or will never read the books, but if you loved the books, be warned: it's your standard male fan-fic, with a masive budget.

Now, the Nintendo Wii
- When I was told that the friend had got a Wii for chrismass, I was amazed, but it didn't truly matter to me, I was happy for them, but it was just another person on the long list of people I know who own a Wii. (along with [link], [link] & darkjak.deviantart.com)
But when I saw it in their living room, I was awstruck. There was Nintendo's masterpiece, right in front of me, beside the plasma TV, nunchucks 'n' all. I couldn't believe how small it was! It was about the same size a Gameboy classic (but probably a bit bigger than) which was about the same as 3 controlers (wich were about as bit as a TV remote).

After one of the owners gave us a game of Guitar Hero on the PS2 (which I couldn't see what all the fuss was about) before he set up Wii sports for the household todler, who got bored after a while, leaving me & my brother to it. Playing it was awsome, it's a little difficult to work out what the controler's doing & use it, but that didn't deter me.

In general, the Wii was brilliant, and I saw from the main menu that you could do lots of amazing stuff on it (watch TV, internet, online play, ect) and for once, I think I've used a product that is twice as good in real life as it is on the ads. I can only imagine what the games are like on it.

I got back in school at 2:30 today after a 3 day trip to Swansea, which was fun. Here's how it went.

Back in september, me, 4 other pupiles, our D&T teacher, the tech-block technitian formed a team for the EESW (Engineering Education Scheme Wales) and we took off on a project that last year's team couldn't finnish.

On Monday we went to stay in Swansea to use the facilities at the University to help with out project. Once we'd arrived & set up, we gathered what we had to do, and fiddled with the equipment to get our heads round the task in hand.
After a free lunch, we got down to work and we all found a niche that we worked on (I was given the mannuals for the 2 programs that were used to create the program for last year's project) and it carried on like this during Tuesday at the Uni as well.
By Wednesday, we'd eventually got the whole machine working, although it doesn't seem like much, but we should have enough to write about in our report, and were not done yet.

Between that, we stayed at a Premiere Inn with annother team, where there was all-you-can-eat meals (I felt sick for most of the trip because of it) an did some planned activities in the evenings.
On Tuesday night, we had planned to go bowling with the other team team we were staying with, but it was full. So we booked for Wednesday evening, and headed for town for a look around.
It was freezing and the fair that was in town was too expensive, so we went to the cinema, but had to wait an hour for the film.
We wandered around, freezing, when we went to look at the LaserQuest and decided to book 2 games.
After that, we went to see our film, Beowulf, which was pretty good. It was a brilliant story, easy to follow and it was over-all a pleasure to watch. But there were a few parts that, to me, were screeming errors or bad decisions. (i.e. the bad editing and animation in some places, and they had Grendle's Mother (a norse deamon) played by Lara Croft!)

The Bowling on Wednesday was fun. I did get a spare but I was crap compared to the one who hit 2 stikes.
The LaserQuest was very fun. We were split into 3 teams, Red Blue & Green, and we were given a coloured jacket with a "gun". The idea was to score as many points for your team. You got 200 if you hit a enemy's front, 100 for the back & 50 for the sholders & gun.
Anyway, we all piled in, us as the Blues, and a large group split into Greens & Reds. It was a converted cinema, sloping down, with 2 floors, and a 3rd that connected them.
There was chaos for the first 5 minutes, but then I found a bridge that was the only entrance to a small maze behind it, and I decided to stay there with a team membre who was already there.
The second game was different, I explained about the bridge whilst another group got ready, and we decided to rush it and stay there.
There were 2 mad girls on the Green team who kept running around screeming, despite out defensive hold, and there was a short, podgey Korean kid on the Red team (who were harder to hit due to dimer lights on their pannels) who was annoyingly good. He managed to run out in front of us several times and hit most of us before we got him.
We still won.

Anyway, it is now 11 at night, and it's frosty outside.
I havn't managed to buy any presents yet, and my PayPal account isn't active untill the 24th, so that sucks.

Bye for now.

Well, I have to say Octobre and Novembre 2007 have been the absolute worst weeks of my life.

I don't realy want to go into detail, but basicly I've been delt a fierce cocktail of:
- High workloads
- Stress
- Peer pressure
- Fear of failiure
- Lack of self esteme
- Family troubles
- And a lack of support

Well, I can sort of see a this stopping on monday, there is a high chance that this is false hope, but I'm trying not to think about that.

Havn't updated in a week, so here I am.

Umm . . .
Yeah, I'm trying to write two pages of tech stuff, but I'm finding it hard to concentrate (hence me writing this).

I'm about to get drowned in more work than I've ever seen in my life (I know because I can feel my chest geting heavier) yet I'm feeling strangly calm.
I supose it's due to a fatalism of sorts, or something . . .

But on the plus side, the second paper in my English exam went without too much trouble on Thursday.

And for the weather, it's five o'clock and it's dark outside, so it feel much later than it realy is . . .
Oh, and there's a smell of wood, wind and fresh tree bark in the air, making it feel like winter. *shivers at the cold*

So, yeah. Although I'm relived I've got more time, I am ticked off that I worked my socks off for nothing.

Last Saturday I went for a half-hour cycling trip up a local drovers road. It follows a glacial valley and leads past 2 waterfalls, 2 bridges and a up towards the springs of the valley's river in the pine forests.

I found some picturesqe locations and though that they might make some good photos.
But I have no experience with photography, and I didn't have a camera anyway.

I regreted not having a camera, so earlier today, whilst the weater was (resionably) good, I took our best digi-camera (a FinePix A500) and set out on my sister's bike (it's the only decent one).

I was going to upload them today, but the time quickly disapeared once I got home, and some of the shots didn't come out as well as I'd hoped.
But, I descovered that you can "improve" them in our photo editor. So tomorrow I'll play about with them and upload a few, and maybe I'll do it again next week.

My brother bought The Sims 2 about half a year ago, but it crashes in a veriety of manners after 20min or so, and he's been bugging me to sort it out for a couple of months now.

Long story, short: I tried and failed this evening and it's left me I a very unwelcome bitter mood. :rave:

Basicly, the error message that's displayed after most crashes (crash to desktop and all display settings are set to minimul untill restart) states that we need to up-date our Display driver (now 6.14.10.4410) but I'm reluctant to because of past experiences with buggy games.

Eventually I gave it a go, now, after 1 hour and 5 arguments (over checking which drivers work or just randomly picking a number) later, I have 2 drivers I want, but my brother has stormed off, saying that he can't help me search for them because he refuses to understand.

I don't recall ever being this busy!
All my life I've devoted all my attention to a bit of work and alot of lazyness.
It was always 10 or 12 in my class that took part in the school show, nutty trips around the world ect. ect.
I now know how they feel.
Today I had to:
- See the head of year about my absence on tuesday.
- See my Pys teacher about cousework.
- Discus my many-times-failed practicals with my Chem Teacher.
- Find out the date of a Re-sit and hand in some work.
- Have lunch before finding a certyain teacher who I couldn't find.
- Get some money out of the bank (on the other side of town)
- Rush back to arrange a meeting tomorrow with annother student and forementioned teacher.
- Quikly copy some homework before passing it off to Maths teacher.
- Plan Phys experiment & coursework.

Half of that in my free time (1.5 hours 'cause I had a full day to-day)

Anyway. Board now (see mood below) off to read webcomics.

Well, we went to the EESW introduction morning today at Laugharne.
We did some stuff about learning everything we already kinda' knew about the EESW project me and four others have signed.
Mainly, we discused who would do what in the team (each of the 70-odd participating schools has a 'team&#039 and most of all, there was a buffet.

Then we went to the see where the 'company who will set us the project task' was based.

Aaaaannnnd,
it turns out that the day we present our project to the judges is the day after I and two other members get back from Sweden.

Anyway, I'm all geared up and ready to start the project which we should have started . . but . . . haven't . . . . .
(Pro-Desktop is a 3D model generating program)

But other than that, I've got quite a week infront of me.

-Tuesday I'm off galabanting over S. Wales to a Engineering presentation, a buffet, and a factory, all by 3:30.

-Wednesday I'm sure there's something I've forgotten, but I'll probably be catching up on the Chem & Phys practical coursework I'll miss on Tuesday.

-Thursday I'll be off to a competition type thing with a grant of up to £250 for our trip to Sweden. If we did our preparation on Wednesday.

-Friday will just be mad, trust me.

-Saturday I'm sitting in the Lampeter CO-OP on and off shifts selling raffle placements for our &#039luk-a-duck' competition to raise money for the trip to Sweden.

In other news, I'm now a fan of Michel Jackson and have started listening to his music like mad, and it's got to that time of year when it gets gloomy at 3:30.

We went to a goodbye party last night for my dad's freind who is going back to Thailand after a visit to his to check of house that he rents.
It was a late night last night, and after leaving rather early, well, 1/2 an hour after the party 'finished' but 2 hours before everyone left.
After compleating Sonic R earlier that day, I looked into the Tails Doll.
I tried wikipedia, but there was only a small reference in the character listing.

I tried Google and DeviantART all whilst listening to Sonic R music.

DO NOT LOOK UP THE TAILS DOLL LATE AT NIGHT WHILST LISTENING TO SONIC R MUSIC!!!!!

By god, it shook me up.
I'm still recovering the next day.
Michel Jackson's Smooth Criminal is still ringing around my head after I tried to distract myself last night. So, by the laws of psycology, I now have to listen to it to stop myself going nuts.

I'm about to be off for my mom's freind's 'Open House' day.
Have a better sunday than me.

I thought I was in trouble several times (forgoten homework, ect.) but nothing turned out as bad as they seemed.

- Trashed my chemestry practical; turns out we're repeating tomorow

- Very boring maths lesson, yet somehow managed to understand it all

- Forgot to do my Phys homework; opened the file to find it already done

- Was about to be set a test next week but those practicing for the school show (which is wrecking everyone's timetable ) are too busy (that's 1/2 the class) so no test.

- Got my EESW form in, thanks to my pursuasion (and luck) managed to the other 2 members to stay AND 2 more to chip in as backups. :^^:

- And now I have the computer to myself (everyone else is busy)

I'ed given in to my brother's nagging for his turn on the computer, but 10 minuts later he declares himself board O_o

In those 10 minuits (damn-it I can never spell minit) I played a few of the better songs I can play on the piano, (which I play) and have resolved to record myself on youtube and post the links from here.
