In ~XerxesTUUL's 'The Letter H' journal entry he was given the quest to find ten things he likes beginning with the letter H. Now he gave me the task of finding ten things I like beginning with V...

1. Valaquenta - A section of the Silmarillion, the account of the Valar. PLUS there's lots of Vs, Vána, Vairë, Varda...

2. V Energy Drink - Great tasting energy drink and one of my favourites. Warning: Contains caffeine. :P

3. Vikings - Pretty damn awesome, yay for drinking horns! :D

4. Verily - Nice archaic word, verily I think it should make a comeback.

5. Volcanoes - Always loved them :| and enjoyed watching volcano videos in Geography and liked the idea of being a volcanologist.

6. Voltaire - Quirky musician with a blend of dark and humourous songs. (Folk-ish, dark rock) Oh and the philosopher was an interesting guy too hehe. :)

7. Valhalla - Drink mead and wait for Ragnarök. XD

8. Virtual Memory - Useful stuff for tricking programs into running more efficiently. Hmm and 'Virtual' itself as a concept is interesting too. All in all a great word.

9. Voldemort - Awesome antagonist, brings back primary school memories when we had the books read to us.

10. Vacancies - Always good when you're unemployed. lol.

Ah summer finally, and an update finally. I've finally finished a new stippled drawing after much on and off work on it. Also I'm nearly 19, finally, on the 11th. I will now stop saying finally. Hey how's the new year for you so far? (I'm a tad late) I looked at my journal this morning and thought ugh I hate it still being in '07, so I've fixed that.

Expect new stuff from me soon especialy after these January exams are over, and I'll start doing features again, perhaps themed. (Guess the possible themes :roll:) I've also wanted a tattoo for quite a while now but have't got the perfect design yet. Also cool I've been on dA from 05-08 now, admittedly the end of 05, but still, heh!

That just suddenly made me think of something, I used to be on Elfwood when I was 13, with sketches of fiery unicorns and squiggly wyrms and so on. (lol) I'm not on there anymore, but just wondering how many people are/or were...*makes poll*

I might actually write an entry that explores a current situation or something going on rather than me rambling...

* I just realised the top of my coded journal looks weird in Firefox, damn...

More CSS and Stuff

Few changes to the css, I realised what I had before was too much of a resolution dependent desgin, looking at it on higher and lower resolutions than my own 1280x800 things were floating around everywhere thanks to the widths being cut off and changed and so on. Now with smaller images and more basic alignment it shouldn't change so much from screen to screen I hope hehe.

At the end of September I'm going to be doing GIS (BSc) at Bath Spa Uni...hey...that's this month! Agh! I also have a writing craving at the moment, not sure if anything will end up on here, but if anyone has/is writing fantasy/or other speculative fiction I'd love to hear from you about your experiences and so on. Anyway there should be more stuff from me soon, and see below for some great features. I'd like to say a huge thankyou to the people who comment/watch me, it's really appreciated, and also for making sure I have great art to look at! Thanks!

CSS and Ode to the Nice Girls

Well, well, I've just 'finished' giving this journal a touch of CSS (Interrupted frequently by the largest, most diabolical spider imaginable paying me visits) Anyway It'll more than likely be updated soon as I mess around with, um, I mean *improve* it. I know it currently looks odd is some resolutions, mainly the dragon and stamps at the bottom (I'm using 1280x800 and IE.) Oh and apologies watchers if you recieved weird blank journal entries from me, I clicked add instead of preview a couple of times whilst doing the CSS. This was probably due to the mix of vigilant fear, a very late night, and (trying to) carefully code. Heh heh.

I stumbled upon a journal gem, the 'Ode to the Nice Girls' by =WickedNox, inspirational material, and so I thought I'd join in spreading the wise words. Click here to go and read it now!

It also reminded me that I need to read the His Dark Materials trilogy before the films are released. Hmm anyway...yeah.

I finally signed up to The One Million Masterpiece collaboration, so I'm sort of searching for some great inspiration for what to draw for that - or perhaps just get to grips with the software you have to use...meh, one of those. :D Ah and weather = lack of ice/snow but too windy.

In other news I was going to give blood today (for the first time) but could not as my haemoglobin/iron level is very low. :( *Sigh* (7.2 it was think) I Don't feel faint or anything often...in fact I've never fainted in my life. :faint:

Hehe sorry for being five times more annoying and spamming you all with a 'new' journal entry a day after the last one! ;)

v.5 is here (Not that I suppose you need telling by now :roll:) and it seems it was launched a few hours after I went to sleep, ah well a it was a pleasant thing to wake up to! I like the new look very much, and the cool features such as moods and several recent deviation thumbnails, I think the searching etc is better overall but will take a bit of getting used to, like some other things which have moved around. Little bugs 'n things should be fixed soon I hope!

So a :thumbsup: from me, well done dA staff! Again as dA has just turned six I'll just repeat from my last entry a huge thank you to all you great people who have made my experience on dA so wonderful! :hug:

07/01/2006: Inspired by the emoticon work here on DeviantART I thought I would have a go at making one myself for my user avatar. The camera wielding emoticon was made with Fireworks and I was very pleased with the result. (It's my first ever one) Hmm maybe there will be more animations to come!
