Okay, I need a little help. So far, when it comes to my sketchbook I'm pretty good at using the boundaries my scanner needs. Just recently though, I've completed a picture where I had the urge to fill up almost the entire page. I love the picture and want to put it up here on deviantart, but scaling and rescaling by sight alone is a little harder than I'd like it to be. Does someone know some easier way to put a picture together when it goes out of the scanner's boundaries?

Okay, I've been thinking on this for a little while--it's kind of like a drawn-out eureka moment. "I really don't stay consistent."

Maybe it's not that bad, though; I'm guessing there are at least a few other people here on deviantart who don't update regularly, right? It's something I should try to fix, though. I mean, I've got over eight-hundred page views. In my mind, that's almost impossible.

I should start cleaning some stuff up. Maybe get rid of the older things and post a few new ones? There is one thing I'm a little confused on; If you use a pixel doll as a base for a picture, trace it, alter facial expressions, clothe and coiffe it ... does that mean you've "frankendolled" or whatever? Or does that mean you've just plain stolen from someone?

Anyway, I should probably sift through my pictures and see what I can come up with. There might be a few people out of that eight-hundred and plus who actually want to see more!

Well, well, well! =O Honestly, what kind of deviant am I, to go over ten months without a single journal entry? >_> Time just passes too fast, I swear. When I'm old, my head will be spinning at 'how time flies'.

This journal entry is pretty much dedicated to the year that will soon come to an end and make way for a brand-new, 2009! Let's see ...

For me, this year hasn't been completely new; I'd all ready experienced summer through winter in Canada. But there's one thing I noticed that should be stated with the changing of seasons: Each and every one is never the same.

Every spring, white snow melts in different places to show the first sprouts of our lawn and the flowers bloom and the leaves grow all on different points on the branches. The colors are revealed at their own pace, and they seem slightly prettier every year.

Every summer, different fruits are more tasty than the others and the swimsuits we wear are brighter than last year--enough to catch the sun or the eye of a guy we've been crushing on.

Every fall, the air has a different chilled tang that excites our senses and makes us ready for apple pie and cider. For those of us with deciduous trees, the colors are slightly changed every year; one tree's leaves are more purple than last year, and another has leaves that crunch just a bit more than we remember.

Every winter, those of us with snow see those flakes that are never one like the other; they fall in different places, and drift in different ways. The cold comes on a different day, and different people claim "It's not cold, I don't need a coat like that"

And every year, the value of a dollar fluctuates, and the price of oil goes in different directions. Cars break down in different styles and we get bills with different payments.

Yet through those things that are changing every year--some better than others--don't forget to see those constants in life:

A friend's tight hug and genuine smile can still warm your heart better than any cup of hot chocolate.

The feel of a pencil, pen, marker, paints, or even a computer mouse is still the feeling of possibility, and can give you a more refreshing feeling than any swimming pool ever could.

The feeling of hard work is still the feeling of accomplishment...

And tomorrow is still anything you want it to be.

It's a little early everyone, but HAPPY NEW YEAR! Here's to a brighter future for all of us.

Okay, everbody! I've decided to get Adobe Photoshop! Awesome, right?! Yes. Deffinately. The only problem is; when I go to check the costs, I find SO many different Adobe products.

I've asked my friends about how they make and color their awesome pictures. All of them say "It's with Photoshop." Well I don't know what Photoshop to get. There's Elements, and CS3, and CS3 Extended, and Lightroom. Then there's the ones that aren't photoshop but sound useful, like Illustrator or After Effects.

Can someone give me a little hand here? I really need to know what to look for.

Just in case you need to know what I plan to do with it, I want to scan pictures on to my computer, and then color them. Pretty simple. If I could get a program that lets me both color pictures and draw them digitally, that would be a bonus, but coloring is #1 right now.

So any help for a noob is appreciated.

Okay! The picture I've devianted, titled 'The "Maho Shoujo" Concept' stars two people; Jinshi and Hiina. Here is where they came from.

About one year ago, I started to create my own manga, which I entitled "Dokan". It was a maho shoujo, or "magical girl" style of plot, and it starred both Jinshi and Hiina. Now I might actually upload the manga, but it's on horrible paper, and my scanner sucks so it's still kind of being contemplated.

Here's a summary: Hiina Kei is in training to become a witch. The thing is, that she is in highschool, and on top of actually keeping up with her magical studies, she has to keep up with her homework and tests. The problem? She can't. Infact, she's in danger of flunking quite a few classes. She needs a tutor, and her teacher so generously offers a wonderful, A+ average student for the job: Jinshi Hiwatari. This guy is perfect. Sweet, kind, smart, the whole deal-- On the outside. What he shows Hiina, however, is just what an egotistical, sarcastic, bastard of a guy he can be. So. That solves school. As for magic, well ...

If I upload it, you'll find out.

=3 If you guys think I should, please let me know!

Ugh! Males are such a kiss-up species!! Get this. I have a guy friend who wants to be more than friends. I tell him that I don't. Later, I get a message from his friend (over the internet) That he's committed suicide. After that, and when I'm thinking it's my fault, and I'm bauling my eyes out, I get a message from HIM, saying that it was an f'ing TEST to see if I cared at ALL about him!!! Then he starts shooting off "I'm sorry" and I'm not listening because I'm so f'ing p*ssed and then he says "What, do I have to come over to your house and get on my knees and beg for your appology?" And I say "NO!"

Low and behold, after about two hours of not getting anything from him, he shows up at my door with a ROSE and says he's sorry!

...It still doesn't make up for the fact he faked suicide, though!
