This year I got all the classes I wanted:
1°: AP English Literature and Composition
2°: Free
3°: U.S. Government (1st semester)/Contemporary World Issues (2nd semester)
4°: AP Calculus

6°: Honors Physics
7°: AP Biology
I probably won't have much free time on my hands, but when I do I'll try to use it to get back into drawing. I really do miss it.

We're having intersession again this year and one of the choices is Hawaii. Seniors get top priority, so if everything works out my friends and I will all be "learning beyond the classroom" in the Hawaiian Islands! We're also planning on having Nancy Pelosi, the first woman Speaker of the House, come to speak to us on Thursday so there's much excitement over that, too.

It was definitely worth the wait. We get to see the Italy kiss scene, the breakup, Jacob and Bella hanging out (and Jake spinning her around in a hug!), the bike scene, a confrontation between Bella and the wolf pack, Jake jumping into Bella's room through the window and wrapping her in a hug!, quick glimpses of Jane and part of the Volturi, the cliff-diving scene, Victoria, Jake and Bella's almost kiss!, and Jake's transformation into a wolf! Can November come any sooner?

We waited patiently for Rachelle Lefevre to come on stage, and with each passing minute the level of excitement grew. She was about 30 minutes late, but she more than made up for it. The fans came up with really insightful questions and she replied with well thoughtout answers. She also wasn't afraid to show off her sense of humor. She had all of us laughing the entire time. She also thanked each fan who asked a question and even commented on the Victoria costumes she saw in the crowd. You could immediately tell how kind and gracious she is and her personality really shined through.

Jackson and Ashley were just as great. Throughout their whole Q&A they referred to each other as husband and wife. It was really cute. A lot of the questions were aimed at Jackson, but being in a room full of girls, it was practically a give-in. A lot of the questions were really light, giving them a chance to show off their sense of humor.

The photo op line for Jackson and Ashley was insane. Once their Q&A was over I headed straight to the third floor to get a good spot in line. Since the line for photo ops with just Jackson was also forming, organization got a little complicated. Because of this, they moved my line to the very first floor. After a long wait, I finally reached the photo op room. The people in front of me just took their pictures and left, so I didn't have to wait very long for my turn. They're absolutely beautiful in person, inside and out. I said hi and told them I made them something. I handed this picture: [link] to Ashley, they huddled together, and both of their faces lit up. They thanked me, Jackson said, "Wow, that's beautiful", and Ashley said, "You're really, really good." To have them compliment my work like that made me so happy that all I could do was look away and give them a bashful thank you. I asked Jackson if I could have a kiss on the cheek, but he didn't hear me because he was still complimenting my work. So he gave me one the most dazzling smiles I had ever seen and said, "Pardon me?" Could he be any more charming? So I repeated myself and he said, "Yeah, sure!" with an even bigger smile and a mischievious look in his eyes. So there I was, with Ashley's hand on my hip and Jackson's lips on my cheek, waiting for Chris to take our picture.

Today was a good day.

I went to the Twilight Convention, and when I got there they were already playing The Hillywood Show's Twilight Parody. The lights were off, the video was blaring, and everyone was cheering. Then, the Hillywood Show itself got on stage. They were really great during their Q&A and genuinely wanted to hear from their fans. There was also a table set up for them out in the hall where fans actually got the opportunity to meet and talk to them. Check them out: youtube.com/JckSparrow

Then, it was time for some Kellan Lutz. The event was sold out and every seat was taken, therefore it was physically impossible to get a better seat. Believe me, I tried. When Kellan got on stage, everyone went wild. Overall, the Q&A was great. Kellan was hilarious on stage, but he also told some sweet stories too.

Once it was over, I rushed upstairs to prepare for my photo op. While I was waiting, I talked to some great Twilight moms. One actually helped me rip off my wristband before I met Kellan. No way was I going to have an ugly paper wristband in my picture. Finally, I was up. His back was to me so I said, "Hi Kellan!" to get his attention. Then he turned around. First thought: you're insanely good-looking. Second thought: you're really tall. Way to state the obvious, Claire. Now I'm not sure if I said any of this out loud because if I did, that would be a wee bit embarrassing. I asked for a bear hug and he immediately said, "Yeah, sure! Of course!" At this point, I was ecstatic that I was going to get a hug from him. But before I could even imagine what it would feel like, he pulled me into the biggest bear hug I had ever had. By then I was all smiles. He was so friendly and such a sweetheart. I remember after having my picture taken and saying thank you that I probably looked like such a goof, but I was too happy to care.

I can't wait until tomorrow!

I wanted to take one final group picture before my friends and I left the beach last Friday when I realized that everything in the shot was out of focus. I tried cleaning the lens, but no matter what I did everything was still blurry.
Since I bought the camera on March 2, it means that I didn't even have it for a year before it broke!

Speaking of broke, that’s what I almost am because on Sunday I bought a new camera! You didn’t think I would go around without a camera, did you?
It’s a beautiful Canon Powershot SD790 IS, and I can’t really say I regret buying it because I’m absolutely in love with it. I loved my Casio and all, but it was too fragile for my clumsy self.
It cost a total of $200, but my dad decided to chip in $30+ to get the 2-year warranty because he doesn’t trust me with cameras anymore. Then again, with a track record of three cameras in three years, I wouldn't trust myself either.

Of course I had certain expectations and hesitations walking into the theatre, but I was blown away by the movie. The awkwardness, the intensity, the passion - it was all there. And surprisingly enough, the audience was quieter than I would have imagined, although I did start a "woo!" during part of a scene.

I love the soundtrack, but had a hard time imagining where certain songs would fit in the movie. I think they did a remarkable job with it, especially Supermassive Black Hole by Muse during the baseball scene - that was just perfect. It set a tone, and made me appreciate and love it even more. I didn't expect to laugh as much as I did either; but Mike in the window, Emmett with the knife, and Charlie with his gun were hilarious!

I would tell you which scenes were my favorite, but then I'd end up trying to describe at least six different scenes, so just know that I absolutely loved the movie. Being the emotional person that I am; I laughed, cried, hyperventilated, and so much more.

This was definitely worth the wait, and I'm positively going to watch it again.

And good news: New Moon is officially a go!

Upon entering the car after school I immediately bombarded my mom with questions about my ring: "Did you get the ring? Don't lie to me! Where are you hiding it?" Once she told me she, in fact, did not have it, I called my dad: "Dad, do you have the ring? Can we go to the post office? Are you sure?" When my dad said he didn't have it either, waves of disappointment surged through me. But that tricky little rascal, my dad. He always does this to me, and I always fall for it.

When I got home, I, being ever so relentless, asked my dad where my ring was and, again, he said it wasn't here. As I stormed away he called to me laughing and pointed to the table where there was resting a huge, white envelope. Could it be? It couldn't. It was! Running to the room, screaming the whole way, I tore open the envelope where inside was another envelope, and inside that envelope a box, and inside that box another box, and inside that box the ring!

It's absolutely, breathtakingly beautiful, especially in the sunlight. Well worth the wait. The one defect? I mistakenly ordered the wrong size. It's OK though, I got a ring guard. How dazzling.

I need to buy more Twilight merchandise. I already have the Edward Glass Tee, but I really want the Photo Set Buttons too. If the Dream Hoodie wasn’t so expensive, I’d probably buy it as well. And of course there’s the soundtrack coming out on November 4. I also wonder when I'll be getting Bella's Engagement Ring.

School starts this Friday. Oh, the horror! It was made even more final during Orientation yesterday where we received our list of and books for classes:
1°: Honors Geometry
2°: Honors Spanish III
3°: AP English Language and Composition
4°: Hebrew and Christian Scriptures
5°: AP Chemistry
6°: U.S. History
7°: Body Awareness
(Second semester classes are all the same except 7° where I have it free.)
I'm actually happy with my schedule this year, but since Junior year's supposedly the hardest I hope that things don't get too hectic. It's all about balance.

Hey everybody!

I have a feeling today's post is going to be much longer than my previous entries so try and bear with me please.

So I finally started (and finished) packing yesterday and boy was that exhausting. I have this slight paranoia of airlines losing my luggage so most of my shirts are in my carry-on bag.
I'm also armed with a bag of M&M's and two bags of Lifesavers so that should last the 14-hour flight to the Philippines. I've never suffered from airsickness before but just in case that's where the Lifesavers come in. What I do need though is gum! I'll have to remember to buy that later.
And I'm also ready for those pesky mosquitoes and other blood-sucking insects for I have insect repellant! The last time I went I got around 90 bug bites the first day (I counted! . . . Or miscounted . . .) but not this time!
I don't think it really hit me until now that I'm leaving. Since I'm afraid of heights and flying - especially the take-off, landing, and turbulence aspects - I'm trying to stay calm. No need to have a paranoid person onboard.

While we're gone Jake will be staying with my best friend, so he's almost good to go. First he needs his rabies shot. Poor guy! But he won't be alone. My school demands that its students get a checkup before the school year starts. Drat.
My school also insists on summer reading books - The Crucible, The Secret Life of Bees, and The Moon Pearl. Alongside that is my AP Chem summer homework. All of which I have yet to begin.
Despite all this I'm going to try and work on art. I'll be back on August 18, but I'm bringing the laptop with me. Now I'm not sure if the internet will work, but when I do get on I'll try to have something uploaded.
Since I'm going to be gone for so long and internet isn't guaranteed I'm probably going to go through serious Twilight withdrawal. How will I stay updated? Well every cloud has a silver lining! Breaking Dawn will be out there on August 4. I may be getting it two days late but at least I'll be getting it!

Guess what? Two days ago we got a puppy! Now I wanted to name him after a werewolf from Twilight (of course), so finally my sister and I agreed on Jake. He’s an adorable little Chihuahua, one heck of a jumper (what a spider-dog!), and we love him.

If you have any tips/advice to give me, I’d really appreciate it.

Also, yesterday was ~Belle-loved’s birthday. Belated happy birthday Erin, hope you had a great one!

And today is also Edward Cullen’s 107th birthday (not that he looks a day over 17). Happy birthday Edward, keep on dazzling!

Hey everyone!

I finally finished my hours today - 65 completed.
I would have finished 15 hours ago but I needed them for NHS.
No matter, the more the merrier!

In just a bit I’ll upload my drawing of Wanda from The Host by the amazing Stephenie Meyer.
Great book, you should read it. Or reread it. Or both!
For now I think I’ll focus on capturing its characters.
If you have any suggestions on who or what I should draw next feel free to voice them out. I’d love to hear them.

Also, I think I’ve been neglecting some of the perks that a subscription has to offer.
I’ll be sure to fix that.

Having the can next to me right now is very eerie, too.
The room smelled chemical-like for a while, and that didn’t make things any better either, but at least now my pictures are sealed.

My sister sat on my graphite pencils, but thankfully they didn’t break. << What a fitting emoticon!

Erich Maria Remarque’s All Quiet on the Western Front was published in 1929 and is an anti-war novel.

My only complaint is that I don’t like reading more than one book at a time.

I think the envelope’s pretty big to just be holding a battery, and when I feel it I wonder why it’s so soft.
All of a sudden my mind’s engulfed in the excitement that maybe it really is him!
Him = actor; actor = Robert Pattinson!

But the trick was on me, it really was only the battery. The padding was just really heavy.
But hey, at least I got the battery. And one day, I will get a response from Rob!

Sadly, I don’t have a scanner which means that I have to resort to taking pictures of my art with my Nikon.
