Now that THAT's outta my system, more info about books.
Sunday I went to Het BoekenFestijn in Antwerp with the V-sisters.

It was fun. SRSLY.
There were two or three HUGE ASS rooms full with books for sale.
One thing you should know about Belgium is that books are EXPENSIVE.
So when one of these fairs come along, I'm drooling all over myself.
Stephen King for 5 euros?
Manga for 2 euros?
KILL ME NOW
I bought 16 books for 60 euros. I'm so broke now. ;-;

ALso funny was that there were some Dutch peeps hanging around the manga-table.
How could you tell they were Dutch?
THEY WERE IN COSPLAY!
Oh rofl.
Not that I'm against cosplay, but:
1) This is not an animecon or whatever. Only a RLY small section of the books is manga
2) I couldn't recognize them. SRSLY. I didn't know what they were dressed up as.
3) Their clothing quality sucked
4) being mean here, but they weren't the hottest peeps around.
Still, gotta give em points for their enthousiasm and BALLS.

The exchange went without a hitch. I had a great family, and I had the impression they were kind of rich O.o
My girl, Alba, was really nice and social, al though I was a bit suprised about how much make-up they smear on themselves

Unfortunately for us, it rained the whole week, except for the two last days, which more than made up for it. We saw San Sebastian, Pamplona, and Bilbao. Every night, we headed for the local Irish Pu"ff" (they couldn't say 'ub' correctly. Hilarious.) and then ate a home at around 10.00 O.o

Last day Friday was totally awesome. Sun was shining, we went to the beach, and I even swam in the freezing sea, which is why I think I got a cold.

;-; I'm sick.
Doctor said I was on my way to get a bronchitis, so now I'm on three different medications.
It's cool though, I'm missing three days of school. Haven't done that for a looooooong time.

By the way, I'd like to recommend THE CHOSEN to everyone. It's written by Chaim Potok and it's a great ancient book about two Jewish boys in America during WWII and the conflicts between Orthodox and non-Orthodox jews. VERY GOOD.

Today I attended the funeral of my step-uncle's mother, who died.
I don't think they liked me being there, but I thought it was sign of respect.
Except of course, that tre whole thing made me laugh.

I seriously don't want anyone like me on my funeral day.
Actually, the whole funeral was just funny as hell to me.
I guess I just get happy at funerals. >.>
Weird.

So I woke up at 8AM, with only 6hrs of sleep and a bad humour. >.<
Gods I hate waking up early.
At 10 everyone was ready and off we went.
We had to drive some, but we found it thanks to our handy GPS system.

First thing I noticed when I opened the door was that it was a church.
OH CRAP.
I'm not religious, neither are my parents or grand-parents.
So I knew it was gonna go downhill from there.

We open the large door, step inside, and, dammit, everyone's staring at us.
MAybe I shouldn't have washed my hair, because we were late.
Greeeeeaaaat.
AND we had to sit all the way up front 'cause we're family.
Truthfully said, I had only met her once. .__.

Sooo, there's this old woman and guy and they start making speeches and bladiblabla.
Sometimes a two-man choire would sing a few phrases.
Of course, the best part was when the two old presentators joined in.
They were horribly tone-deaf. >.>

Than my step-uncle stepped up and made a bilingual speach, where some parts were in french and other in Dutch. Geezus. O.o I had the impression no one liked the woman. I did like the french part, but that might of been because I can only half understand it. .__.
He was going on about how she was stubborn and that there were 'rough patches' and that if 'they didn't agree to her opinion, that she would drop 'em like hot coals'.
So... yah. THat was a nice family moment.

I did notice that many people were bringing out their tissues and sniffling. Maybe I had missed the tear-jerking stuff? I'm not the crying type. Or, at least I'm not at funerals. xD

So anywho, after an akward moment where I tried to look as if I was barely containing my tears (I was very bored, to tell you the truth), they continued on. We had to assemble in a line and say our last goodbyes. I felt very foolish looking at the picture of someone I didn't remember, and then touching the cross of a religion I didn't believe in.
I guess it shows that my family wasn't very related to the family, or even remotely Catholic, 'cause they asked us to put money in some kind of plate-thingy and my dad brought out twenty cents for us to give.
.__. I felt pretty cheap, mais bon. Not my church, belief, or choice.

Anywho, as we were first in line (kind of) we were watching other people pay their respects.
Suddenly this old lady, in a pleather jacket waddles along. It was this glossy black leather thing, and it was just the funniest sight ever.
So I start giggling and my sis too, since we both saw her. And it's such a solemn event, that I knew it'd be really rude to laugh. Anywho, after some silent laughter, you think you've got it over control.
I took a few breaths, composed, and then suddenly see that old woman again in my mind's eye, with that eye-popping jacket, and the laughter's incontrollable. So I ask my sis for a tissue, so I can pretend that my silent bouts of laughter are actually wracking sobs. I think I kept most silent, but I wasn't very discrete about it. xD I don't know if it would have been worse if I was seated in the back.

And then, when I finally pass the tissue back to my sister and laughed it off, I get a second shot.
Begeez. I don't know what tradition is, but I guess they sprinkle holy water one more time before we go to the burial ground thingy. So what do they get out?
AN OVeRlargEd ToiLetBrUsH.
Cripes, I thought I'd die laughing.
It seriously looked like this large toiletbrush which they shook water with.
So I went to the tissue again, and hid my face in it while I heaved with laughter.

The best thing I liked, I think, was when they offer you some of that white pill-stuff. I've heard it tastes nasty. That was right before they got out the toilet brush.
Anywho, the two presentators were up there, saying that whoever wants one, can approach.
First, no one moves. Akward silence.

The woman (who I definitely didn't like. She was ugly, she sung really bad, and she had this patronizing air about her.
Oh, and she couldn't read with flair. She was reading something outloud (I think a letter), and it was so monotone. .___. )
Right. So the woman nodded to the immediate family (My stepuncle, aunt, and his father) as if to say 'go on, take one of these disgusting tablettes) and I felt so smug when they refused.

Finally, my birthday.

It took me long enough -irritable sigh-

I think I got a shortening of my probation because I bought her a new table-flower-decoration.

I kind of *accidentally* shoved it off the table.

The table was really smooth and so it kind of... slid over the table and fell over on the carpet.

That was the same day I had gotten back my bad french test, so all in all a bad day.

Good thing I'm over that.

And yet my body wouldn't cooperate when I told it to sleep, or when I told it to not get up too early.

I woke up at six, my parents already hustling and bustling to go their jobs on time, as I nodded mildly at the things they said to me. It's anyone's guess what THEY were saying.

At seven they left, and as usual, I went to check my mail, rubbing my eyes tiredly at the blindingly bright screen.

Suddenly, they house phone... and my cell phone went off at the same time. It was my mum and dad, both calling me to say that the busses were stalking and that I had to bike 9km to school.

It wasn't that bad, though my butt was rather sore...

School, was... sadly enough, just a blur. A hazy movement of events where I dul(l)y noted down everything they said in my sketch book, and collected papers to put in my bag.

The only thing exciting was the fact that I got to see everyone again...
My worries were abated... we had almost the exact same class as last year... Could they have been more creative?

I guess the only thing exciting about the *first* day wasn't even during that day. Just a few days before that. I hate to admit it... but it's always so fun to shop for supplies.

Gods, I feel so tired. It's almost eleven o' clock... and it's starting to make my tone monotonous and my humour very... very dry.

On my to-do list:

1) I need to *cough* persuade*cough* some people to pay me for my art... I mean, how lazy can you be if you can't even click a simple button that says "Accept"

2) My Dad's birthday... I'm planning on making an animation... where this angel fades out, is replaced by a gift box, which pops open to reveal the angel saying "happy birthday". i still need to draw the giftbox-part, but my hands are being so lousy.

3) Last year, I sold a workbook that I still need this year. I need to go pick it up at a store that just recently burned down and is now up and running again... It still smells charcoal-y there.

4) HOW IN FRIGGEN HELL DO YOU LINK A PICTURE TO A URL IN PHOTOSHOP CS2???
