I'd been having them all day and I phoned my midwife who told me that the contractions could go on for days, that I should time them and when they get to 3-4mins apart, then to go to the hospital. They were still about 8-10mins apart so I decided to go to bed. Then at about 11:30pm, my waters broke and the real pain kicked in. I said to my husband, "We've got to go to hospital... NOW" ;p The pain was pretty intense and I sat ridged in the car. We got there in record time hehe. When I got to the hospital, I was checked and the midwife told me that I was fully dilated and she wheeled me off to the delivery suite and she was concerned that I might give birth on the way. It was about 12:20am and I felt the urge to push... and I pushed... and I pushed for nearly 5 hours. I couldn't have any pain relief, only a suck on the old gas and air but it just made me feel woozy so I just squeezed on the pipe when I had contractions. So... my little girl was born at 5:11am on the 5th of October weighing 6lb 11oz and I just couldn't believe how tiny she was. Certainly didn't feel tiny at the time ;p Our family is now complete and looking back, I wonder why it took me so goddamn long as I'm loving being a mummy and she is absolutely gorgeous and beautiful and perfect :heart: We've named her Eloise although everyone calls her Ellie. There's loads of pics here of Eloise (and some of me too) if you wanna see (you have to be a member of My Space to see them unfortunately :O_o: ) [link] :D

When she said it was his/her little head at the top and wiggled it about, she had actually got hold of poor baby's bottom ;p So, the head's down and it's just a case of waiting now until Bumpster decides to make an appearance ;) Baby is actually in the perfect position right now (Right Occiput Anterior) so I just hope things stay that way. I'm 37 weeks tomorrow so not too long now :)

I'll see my midwife on friday 8th September and she'll feel for the position which I don't think will change and then she'll make me an appointment with a consultant who will talk to me about a caesarean... not ideal but I don't want an ECV (External Cephalic Version) and this is when they try and turn the baby. Apparently, a natural birth is out of the question with a transverse lie baby because when the waters break, the cord falls down and can loop around baby's neck. 3-4% of babies are still breech at 36 weeks... 1 in 2,500 babies are transverse lie :O_o: Typical huh! And a Rhesus negative mum too. When I went for my hospital tour, the midwife there advised me against it as she said that sometimes when baby tries to turn back, the cord can loop around their neck :O_o: She also said that they are this position for a reason... maybe the cord is too short or I have a small pelvis. Whatever though, if my baby hasn't turned the day before my EDD then I'll be having a caesarean. I've heard that I could even have one at 39 weeks which is in 3 weeks time :excited: We shall see anyway.

I finish work for good (taking voluntary redundancy) this friday. I feel like I could work right up to my due date as apart from heartburn, I feel fine and my bump hasn't really got any bigger and I've put on only 1kg in 2 months... less to lose ;p

I had my Anti-D injection also yesterday so my blood is no longer Negative. Not for a few months anyway ;p My midwife told me that I have a 'neat little bump' hahaha! Here's a pic of my bump [link] I don't think there's much room for Bumpster to move around in anymore as I'm constantly getting kicked and punched and he/she is moving about like crazy. I'm getting very slight pain when I walk somedays which my midwife diagnosed as SPD (Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction). I also get heartburn every single day but I'm coping with it and my ankles tend to swell up especially in this heat but apart from that (and slight cramping in my tum) all is well :)

Went to a relatively newly closed asylum last sunday with *valan and our mates Ian and Ben... awesome place, sound inside with no grafitti anywhere which makes a pleasant change :) Bloody cold again though. It was actually warmer outside :O_o: Hopefully going urbexing again with mates from down south at the end of Feb :D

Just had an awesome 4 days Urban Exploring in the SE of the UK :D
