Character/World Quiz Thing
1. Do you create different worlds/series for your characters or do you put them all/most of them in the same time and place?
I set most of them on Earth. Some of them on Earth in an alternate demension.

2. Do you sit down and create random facts about these worlds that have nothing to do with the story line? (History, biology, zoology etc.)
Um... I do a lot of research, historically. So I have to make notes about what happened when and what was acceptable when and what didn't exist when. When I do things in an alternate history, I have to think of logical explanations as to why things happen.

3. Do you have a plot line? If yes, do tell.
All of my novellas have plots. Really stupid plots. Plots like:
"A young runaway from the mob ends up in a circus run by the Devil and falls in love with the wife of a summoner."
or
"Other girl's boyfriends didn't have persistance. They just gave up after death. Well, not Linda's boyfriend. That was where he differed. He had... a lot of persistance."

4. Do you give a name to your series?
Um... again. Novellas. They all have titles.

5. Is your series dramatic, romantic, mysterious, exciting or similar to your own life?
Most things are... dramatic? Romantic?

6. Have you got characters that live in "our" world?
Yep. All of them, actually. Just different versions of "our world."
Oh, and then that crappy story set in a totally different universe, but it sucked.
And then Possession, which was okay, but wasn't mine alone.

7. When you go to sleep, do you often let your thoughts slip into your worlds? How often does this happen?
I don't know. I sometimes make characters off of characters in dreams, but I don't dream about the world's specifically.

8. Do you share your world or your characters with anyone else?
Of course.

9. Do you have friends that would rather not hear about this world of yours?
No... I mean, anyone who wants to hear can. Some of it's a little weird.

10. Is your world a place you go to when you're bored?
Yep. Of course.

11. Do you find yourself in this world more often than in the real world?
No. I go to school. I don't have a lot of time to daydream about worlds.

12. Have your relatives been worried about you because of your love for you world?
No... Wow. Is this a psych evaluation?

13. Do you bother to write down the stories you make before the idea runs away?
I write down concepts, but rarely stories.

14. Have you found or remembered stories you created years back and then laughed or cried because it was so childish?
Yep. I laugh at a lot of stuff. I laugh at the stuff I wrote at the begining of this year.

Yeah... I have a lot of "wait... my characters do that. Crap." moments in films.

16. Have you ever paired up some of your own characters that are not canon just to make it "hot"?
You mean... shipped with in my own story? Oh yes. All the time. Sometimes things actually come from it. Like Nick and Gray's dynamic. Admittedly, they're not actually in love in the story, but they do have a more tender relationship with each other than with anyone else.

17. Do you have more homosexual, bisexual or heterosexual characters?
Um... all of the above?

18. Do you have more female or male characters?
Male.

19. Do you have more human (normal people, mutants, centaurs, mermaids etc), animal (normal animals, anthros etc), vegetable (trees, tree people), mineral (rocks?), extra terrestrial or other characters?
I have human characters. And some supernatural ones.

Peter. Terra. Tara. Linda... And maybe Max. A little bit Mila. And a little bit Syd.

I need a new camera. One that takes good action shots. I mean really good. I have a kind of fidgity model, and I want to be sure that all my pictures of him are beautiful like he is. Also, I want one with a high ISO.
But mostly one with good action and auto-focus.

Any suggestions? I know the DSLR sounds good so far, but, I just want some help.

My Mother, bless her heart, remembered, and called me while I was in Spanish class to say sorry she forgot to say Happy Birthday in the morning. Yesterday my Father and I went out to eat dinner, and my Grandma sent me a hefty check, to set up an IRA with. What? When did I start having to worry about all this? When did the horror stories I hear on NPR start applying to me?
I selfishly want all my friends to remember my birthday, and of course, most of them don't. I want a call from a couple of friends a long ways a way, and I want to get enough hours that I can finally get a licence, something that I shouldn't have been putting off.
There were no cake or balloons this morning, like there used to be before I went off to school, I've only been sung to by the Spanish class and only because the student teacher wondered why I got a phone call.
Who knows. I value my life position as a recluse, but... What the hell, folks? It's my birthday. I expect at least a nod.
Oh well. I've got some gift-cards, so I think I'll buy some CDs and some James Bond movies. Maybe another flash-drive, after I lost my good one.
And to all those people in the school's production this year: Break a Leg! I'm glad to see it's not me anymore. Really. The new director is a psycho.

No, not the constantly complained of commercialism, because I rather like that (it's like Christmas, only more nauseatingly sweet and without Jesus), and not about being alone... because I'm not, really I'm not.
And neither is anyone else, really. Sure, they may not be in a relationship like I am, but that doesn't really matter. Not if you're a teenager, anyway. If you're a teenager, you don't need to worry about relationships and being alone, listening to Linkin Park sing about having angst. I ought to know. I've been a teenager for a while, and never placed a major emphasis on having a relationship. You know what? I think I've been better for it. It really does make having someone to care about so very special. Now, I'm not trying to be Bill O'Reily with his 'holier-than-thou' stance about (frickin'!) everything, I just want to remind folks: if you've been alone on Valentine's Day, or haven't had a kiss, or a date, or anything like that... Remember, it'll be better when you do.
And in the mean time... Get a group of your single friends together and watch Star Wars. Yeah, I crashed, or rather just went to, a single's party (but I went alone, because I'm in a long-distance relationship so... crash? Really? Technicality, my dears) and watched some good movies, ate some chocolate and pizza, and relaxed with friends.
This summer I'm going to see my dear, and that will be good. So, for once, and for the first time, I realize what those people who make the stupid cards that drive disgruntled singles up the wall, are really trying to say.
Valentine's Day is really more about every relationship you make. Think of grade school. It was better back then anyway, unless you were me. I'm glad to be out of that dump, that all I'm going to say.

So incedibly touching that I nearly cried twice, and so well lit... Queen Latifa, Alicia Keyes, Jennifer Hudson, whoever played May (sorry, I'm too lazy to look it up right now), Dakota Fanning (who actually looked quite beautiful) and Paul Bettany. A cast to simply die for.
I won't ruin the story for you, but I'll tell you that you need to see it. It's a real powerful story about a young girl who runs away from her abusive father with the African-American house keeper. The girl goes to where she feels there might be clues about the real reason her mother left, and if anyone can ever bring themselves to love her. The three sisters of Black Madona Honey take her in as an apprentice, and the real drama starts from there.

And I know I shouldn't have felt so bad for Paul Bettany's character, but I did. Like, yes, I realize the guy was a delusional, alcoholic, abusive, probably bi-polar, jerk who ruined grits for me... but every scene of him alone was just these moments of him spriling into depression! *wibble* Poor, poor man! He needed love, too.
And he's cute. (Cuuuuuttteeee.... Soooooo cute...)

Creech, but Delbecq is ‘immortal’, so it’s not like it would matter.

In one dream, I was at a church meeting, but none of the people were those I actually go to chruch with. They stood around me, and fixed me drinks that I knew I was too young for, but drank anyway. Then they painted my face white and my lips and nose red, like a clown, and sent me out on the patio to perform for two girls from my school.

According to an online dream dictionary: a church symbolizes the seeking of spiritual enlightenment and guidance and everything held sacred and dear. Clowns symbolize light-heartedness, or, thoughtless action.
So... I value being thoughtless? I seek to be uninhibited? Should I launch a large musical number about tossing my morals and inhibitions?

Last night I was at a carnival. I was there with two men that I would not know if I saw them in real life, but I seemed to know them well. One was an African-American man, and the other was a generic man in his twenties, with short brown hair. We set up at the top of a tower and I wore my white suit with a top-hat, and lit matches with the side of my neck. I would set the tower off on top, and the African-American man would leap off, through the rings of fire, and transform into a bird, landing safely. From the top of the tower I could see the rest of the carnival, and found, as I do in real life, the Ferris Wheel to be beautiful and well lit.

The online dream dictionary says: A carnival denotes falsehood and deception. An African-American means that I am searching for my roots and creativity. As a woman, dreaming of men means that I am asserting aggression and a more masculine side of myself. Towers signify high hopes, but since I was looking down from one, it signifies a false sense of superiority. Wearing a suit means I am trying to assert my position of power. A top-hat is a symbol for desired wealth and male elegance. Striking matches means I need to re-kindle something dead in my life. Fire, in this case, best represents change. Birds mean freedom. And, finally, Ferris Wheels mean that I am going no-where.

That's a lot of symbolism... Apparently I am being false by trying to assert myself as a man, or rather, as Prince Charming, and my sense of superiority gets me no-where? I need to find my roots, re-kindle something, and be free?

Does anyone else have any idea about this? I'm interested to hear others opinions on dream interpretations.

Similar to my experience at Nan Desu Kan, I have again encountered the stench of the herds. And actually, it's not a smell I mind.

The only thing missing from State Drama Competition is an Artist's Alley!

So, I only got to tag along on this (so far, first evening) interesting experience. I've bonded with one of the actors who I didn't realize had such interesting ideas on the writing process.

Also, I wrote scenes that people actually preformed! OMG, right? Right. Sure, they edited my scenes a bit, and it makes me sad, but the group I wrote for is amazing. We're all having a really good time (except I'm in a room on the bottom floor of the hotel while everyone else is above me... yeah, I'm not a performer, I get it).

Tomorrow I have my original monologue judged solely as a peice of writing... I hope the judges don't shred me to bits and peices.

But what about the presidential level? Who isn't worried?

I woke up a while ago and realized that I'm living in the 30's, but the steel-towns are gone. Steel has been replaced by oil, and oil is over-seas.

Trains will not let you hobo out of them, and nobody will pick up a hitch-hiker. The state of the world has regressed, and we haven't even noticed.

So, I, obviously, am a moderate democrat. I can understand the financial importance of the death penalty. As a tax payer, I don't want to give to a person who has committed horrific crimes. But as a human, I cannot stand by and let them die, or be the reason that they die. And I can understand that people consider abortion to be murder, but I don't feel that it's right to put a young woman through nine months of unwanted suffering and social rejection. The pain on an emotional level and fiscal level is too great for me to stand by and let people tell her that she has no choice.

So many people have called the policies of Barack Obama socialistic. I understand that. But socializing one aspect of the failing nation does not mean socializing everything. England and Canada have a socialized medical system and work just fine. And who hasn't said "Oh, let's go to Canada. The drugs are cheap there", even if supposedly just joking? More truth be spoke in jest, methinks.

But change will be a terrifying thing, and maybe nothing will change at all. Maybe we will have been led on and let down. The war will not end, the country will remain fractured and dying, the stock market will crash... That's a chance I have to be willing to take.

For the sake of my mother and grandmother and grandfather and best friend in Pennsylvania who has cerebral palsy and depression and has had so much trouble with insurance companies, I feel that this will be a good start. For any veteran who suffers from PSTD or any young recruit who does not know what they fight for, I feel this will give them guidance and security. For the immigrant worker who dreams of opening a restaurant or any other kind of establishment, I feel that we can help them.

This is the 30's, and I'm not calling Obama the new Roosevelt, because I think there's no way that he will ever be, but this is an important start to finding that Roosevelt who can make another CCC, and bring back the factories of America, and (what the heck) let there be some hobos, because he/she knows what's best for the people.

We the people.

We are what matters. And I have prayed to God at night that there will be a deeper peace and understanding, and someday we won't have to fight about who we want to lead us. Women will have rights to their bodies, veterans, the elderly, and the predisposed will have the right to proper treatment and not long dealings with bureaucratic corporations, and soldiers will feel that when they are called upon to fight, they will have no doubt what they are really fighting for.

I'd been in the drama for the past two years, and so that was what I was used to. I liked the guy who came back every year to direct them.
But I got cast in 'the musical'. AND IT WAS AMAZING! Potentially the best experience of my life as an actor so far!
The musical was called The Cradle Will Rock, written by Marc Blitztein (sp?) in 1937 about the unions, the steel barons, and the prostitution of American values for money, power, and security. It was so sweet!
I played Mr. Mister, the arrogant, manipulative, psychotic steel baron, and also Ella Hammer, a girl whose brother had been hurt in a steel mill "accident".
("But doctor, you know those hoodlums framed him, pushed him into that ladle because he wasn't afraid to talk!")
The cast was amazing, and my director was the best in the world. I couldn't have asked for a better month, or a better play.
Of course, now I'm all stuck up on it, and I'm sad that I may never have a chance to play those roles again.

Have you ever felt bad about your fanfics? No big deal. We all have. But this, ladies and gentleman, will make you feel better! Really! Reeeeaaaallly. Seriously.

I stumbled upon this site by way of TvTropes (a brilliant page, by the way... tvtropes.org, folks) and felt immediately better about myself and life in general. I've never written Harry Potter fanfiction, but for those of you who do, and for those of us who write in general, this will make you feel good about yourself.
Do yourself a favor and at least get through the first 22 chapters. I personally couldn't get past chapter 37, because by then it was too hard for me to figure out what on Earth was going on, and the writing had become so bad that my IQ had probably dropped 20 points, like TvTropes said it would.

The Bucket List was a very sweet movie with a lighthearted turn on growing hold and dying. The dialogue was very smart, and the characters were interesting. Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson (however you spell their names) are a great acting pair, and played off each other very well.

Sweeny Todd wasn't as scary as I predicted it would be. In fact, it wasn't scary at all. The costumes and makeup were great, and the actors did a great job. I may be going out on a limb by saying this, but I thought that it was more of a romance than a horror. Sure, there were buckets of blood (that all looked pleasingly fake), but the sub-plots were focused on lovers and human longing.


So! Movie review time over! I say: Go and and critizise them for yourself!

I dont' really care to read a series that long. Call me impatient, but I think that plot points can be made into a shorters series. The longest anime I've ever watched was Fullmetal Alchemist, and even that was a pretty long (51 episode) series.
2. The plot of Bleach bores me to tears. I mean, it's like, this is really not exciting. I could really care less.
3. It's just not Zombie Powder.
4. Too many characters! Seriously!

However! There are good points about Bleach.
1. The original manga artis (Tite Kubo?) is incredible. His style is wicked cool. If I was stinking rich, and knew him personally, I would want him to draw things for me.
2. The characters are interesting, even there is multitudes of them. I'm fond of Aizen, Momo, Hitsugia, Ishida, and the soul of Ichigo's sword who's name I can't be bothered to learn. The characters are great, but they get killed by the plot.

Another thing about "The Berlin Stories" that's so amusing is: everyone in them is gay! Even if they're not gay! Even if they're a man, with a girlfriend with whom he is sleeping with. He's still gay!
Plus. Christopher Isherwood is a very good writer. His style flows and his dialouge is funny and smart.
"The Berlin Stories" is a very good book (well, technically one novel and a collection of short stories) that paints a very nice picture of Germany directly before World War Two.

Now I have to go get things for Spanish class.

Bennte: He's pretty tense, so he has great posture.
Dante: He slouches like any other teenager.
Dellbec: Pretty good posture, but slouches sometimes.

Bennet: He moves on little cat feet. Always quiet and graceful without meaning to be.
Dante: He walks pretty fast and a little bit awkwardly.
Dellbec: When he walks, he bends his right foot out which slows him down a little.

Bennet: He'll snap a lot and smile with the right side of his mouth.
Dante: He bites his lip a lot, and his nails.

Bennet: He'll put the word "yeah" after a lot of his sentances. "Nice day, yeah?" "Call me, yeah?" He's the only one with slang.

12. Clothing:
Bennet: A white button up shirt, brown slacks, black shoes, and a long green coat.
Dante: black jeans, a black t-shirt, a hoddie, and vans shoes
Dellbec: white button up shirt, black slacks, black coat, black shoes.

13. Sexuality: How much does it affect the characters life? How is it expressed?
Bennet: Strait. He doesn't express it much, although he found Aelore pretty hot. (that one's for you, Jade)
Dante: Strait. It dissapoints his gay friends.
Dellbec: bisexual. Now I know that it's kind of a fad amongst teenagers to have bisexual characters, but it wasn't always so. Dellbec used to be strait and in love with a woman named Catrine. Catrine is still in the story as Dellbec's friend, but the boy Feivel took over much of the romance. Although it's never expressed out loud, Dellbec and Feivel protect and care for each other.

14. Intelligence: Intellectual, logic, "farmer smarts" etc.
Bennet: He had to teach himself to read and write because he couldn't do it for fourty years of his life. He's got a lot of random trivia facts stored away, and is pretty street smart.
Dante: He was going to get an highschool education before he dropped out.
Dellbec: He's the smartest of them. He's fluent in three languages and writes in.. cursive. I hate cursive.

16. Complex/phobias.
Bennet: He has a phobia of dogs.
Dante: clastraphobia
Dellbec: um, I'm not really sure. I think he has abandoment issues and a god complex.

18. Nicknames: Why does the character have this/these name(s)?
Bennet: He doesn't have any nicknames because he doesn't let anyone call him by anything other than Bennet.
Dante: Dante gets called "paperboy" by Mathew which refers to someone who sells heroin.
Dellbec: His official court title is "The Renegade Immortal."

19. What does the character think of him-/herself? Which feelings does the character like/dislike? What does the character deny?
Bennet: Bennet denies that he would have died for the Zantiz brothers, and hates the fact that he's weaker than many other vampires of the same age.
Dante: Dante hates life and himself in general.

Rowe is walking home from the grocery store, and gets knifed by Frost. Knifed! And he falls to the ground. And then Jack comes along in his car and is like "OMG!" Only not. Because you don't hear the dialoge between Jack and Frost. Then they both pull out their guns. Bang. Then flash to Rowe laying on the ground with snow falling. IS HE DEAD OR WHAT? DID JACK DIE TOO? WHAT? And then, if you wait untill after the credits have played, there's Claire's voice. And she says "Cloud 7, begin Mission."
And both Jack and Rowe answer "Right."
And then there's a picture of Jack, Rowe, and Noelle, but it has a bullet in it. END.

Also, the Read or Die TV dub... HAHAHAHH!!! I know what Yomiko was doing for those five years that everyone keeps talking about. She was taking English lessons from someone with a cockney accent! Seriously, couldn't they get the same people to dub the TV series as well as the OVA? I ordered the perfect collection, which means I have all the episodes on three discs, and I'm cracking up. However, I can't turn the subtitles off on my portable DVD player, so I'm watching it, in English, with Chinese subtitles.

Also, I ordered L/R. I'm very anxious for it to come, because the first four episodes were way cool. And the dude who voices Joker/Carpenter on R.O.D. TV also voices Jack on L/R. Yay for blonde British anime characters!

How long does it take for a good idea to take over you life? I seriously havent' written anything for two months that wasn't a dumb fanfic for or a short story that made no sense. I haven't been able to move on after "Mongratory Stryder", and it's killing me. It's like my writer's block has eaten my life. Seriously!

I was flipping through some of my stuff, and it drives me crazy that I have no originality! Okay, let's see if I can list some of the crap "inspiration" for my characters and plots.

GREENWATER
This story has been revised about four times. It just keeps getting worse and worse. The plot is fairly simple, and very blunt. A group of teenagers go to join the army to avenge the burning of their town, fall in with two shady characters with odd names and strange motives, they all go and join the resistance to overthrow the government, and all of them end up dying with the exception of the two youngest characters and the traitor.
Does this reek of Star Wars to you? Yeah, me too. And the worst part, is that all the characters are so predictable and boring.
Dellbec= To begin with, he hacked computers and shot people, but he just got wimpier and wimpyer... and became immortal. To begin with, he didn't have an inspiration, then I saw the movie that changed my life. If Dellbec had a last name, it would be Godstone or something... D.G. Remind you of anyone? (*cough*Dorian Grey*cough*)
Adrian Shellwritennes= Until I read "The Picture of Dorian Grey", Adrian didn't have a name. She was simply known as "the drug dealer girl". This is probably the worst example of plagerism I have ever commited. She has the same name as the drug dealer in "Dorian" and also the same occupation...
Rose Wedenbarrow, Basil (Brett) Wedenbarrow, and Valdimar Danziger (VonTroupe)= Rose and Brett (formerly known as Basil) were fairly simple. I took Basil's name from "The Secret Garden" and Rose from "Redwall". Valdimar was originally from Valentine. It progressed from Valentine, Valentgar, Valentmar, Valdimar. And his last name used to be VonTroupe, but it was way to steryotipical.
Feivel Alexandrovitch= His first name taken from the movie "An American Tale" and his last from a play that we did in creative writing last year. His personality shamelessly taken from Gavroche of "Les Miserables".

WHAT YOUR UP AGAINST
A really easy plot with this one. Not bad characters, but whatever... Inspired by "Go Ask Alice" and "Tar". If you know what those are, you won't need anything more.

THE RAATH (long title: The Raath Organization for the Aristocratic Undead)
The whole idea was jacked from and her lovely (although now very old) story "Desprate Stuggles". I just messed with the basic idea to make it my own. I'ts about a bunch of vampires co-existing with humans in Washington DC. There were major plot failings in this one. The characters weren't that great either.
Stephen Langley-Smirnov- Hm... His first appearence was in a short mystery story that I wrote. He is not only boring, but a real pain to write about. Seriously.
Leon Dunham- I have had an obsession with the name Leon ever since I saw "Le Colonel Chabert". Leon was another real pain to write about, becaue I really know nothing about law, or intelligence.
Kane- Blegh. She was boring. I didn't like her at all.
Lucy- Yay lucy! She totally rocked, but can you say "Petite Cossette"?
Dominic and Theo Zuniga- Theo doesn't actually make an appearence in "Raath", but he's Dominic's brother, so there. Both of them are so strange.


So, in conclusion, I would like to say that I'm a very unoriginal person... AND YOU SHOULD READ RAY BRADBURY!

Yes, I guess it is, however, I cannot create it. It seems like everytime I do something, there is always someone who does it better, faster, stronger... ect.

Infact, I think my muse is not just ignoring me, it is dead. I have been reading the most wonderfully well written book called Mattimeo by Brian Jaques, and I remember being so inspired a while ago, but now, no more. Not even the very funny/dramatic forgein movie that I watched last night inspired me, and usually, I love forgien movies.

Writing seems dull, artwork is stupid as I cannot draw full bodies, and god knows that I can't do anything else....

Maybe I should seriously consider science as a career option. After all, science is universal. And, I'm good at it.

On Friday, and I watched part of the TV show that they made of Redwall, and I returned to my collection of the books, desprate to re-read my favorites.

Right now, I'm reading "Mattimeo", which I remember as being brilliant.

Let's get something clear right now. THESE ARE NOT KIDS BOOKS. At least, not the first three. They're scary tales of honor and betrayal and death. Also insanity and passion.

"Mattimeo" is about the son of the great Warrior Mathias: Mattimeo. Matti is stolen by a fox named Slagar, formerlly known as Chickenhound, who lost his mind after being bitten by an adder. Slagar forces Matti and friends into a slave line and makes them march a Death March so that they can be sold. And Matthias and his gang all go on a daring rescue mission.
It's a little bit odd....

The books are so well written, you sometimes forget that it's about mice. It's so human and wonderful. It would have made a great human mid-evil fantasy.

And Slagar is awsome! I really want to draw Redwall fanart now. Except, I'd probably make them human.
