I always feel obliged to fill in a new one of these per art 'spurt'. Not too sure why

Anyways, movie season is finishing up, with only a couple more films I'd like to see this year.

District 9 was meh, G.I. JOE was AMAZING,

I guess it reflects my personality eh? (not like anyone would know me )

I tend to dislike things I can't "enjoy". Where GI JOE was absolutely ridiculous, keeping me and my friends howling with laughter for the entire thing (club music at the end... whattttt), District 9 however(same group of friends), we kinda just, walked out. I guess it was trying to be thought provoking, but on the whole it came across as trying too hard. An extremely realistic sci fi, with a unique take on the genre, and an even more unique take on the presentation of it, but comes up short. The characters were human, but I could not care, or connect with them. The pallete was realistic, but extremely boring... (a brown alien in a brown house in a brown wasteland.), the alien tech was cool, but they only use a small portion of it. You see most of the guns once, then they're gone. The rest of the movie is watching people explode with the laser-lightning-gun-thing. Camera angle changes, man in front gets hit and explodes, repeat. Bo~ring.

But to someone who was more educated on the real world inspirations (which were pretty darn faithfully recreated from what I hear), or even involved in them, I suppose it was a bit more significant.

For me, there just wasn't enough to sink my teeth into. They gave you the gist of it in the trailers, and that's about all that was in the movie. Aliens are here, people can understand them somehow, stuff happens. No real explanation (Which makes it realistic, but not very interesting)

Not saying you shouldn't see the movie (it's unique enough that I would instead suggest watching it), but it wasn't my thing. I like my sci-fi retro and ridiculous. Full of hilarious one-liners and silly hair-dos.

I need to play more Blaz-Blu

Hey ho! Not done this DA shtick in a while, here's to new stuff!

It's surprising the amount of work a couple courses above my year can produce, but I'm glad I took 'em. Bad for art posting.. but whatever, I've got some stuff I've been working on solely to put up here... soon. All thanks to the mighty dcjosh I've realised a few ways to colour quickly, and I think nicely with a mouse.

Proof of that here:[link] -lines by ngboy and here: [link] -lines by blitz-wing. I rushed into these (normally ask before I colour), so I want to get permission before posting the finished on DA. I'm using Prime to practice thigns out on for two reasons; one, he's got sraight edges, so is easy to colour with a mouse, and two, there is a LOT of quality work for him available. (dead scanner means no original work for me I'm afraid =\)

Since I'm posting this up with no relevent deviations alongisde it, I may as well jabber on about recent happenings that matter. (deviations will come as I finish them)

Number one: If you've not seen 300, see it now. NOW!!! Not only full of gratuitous violence, but it's got spartans, and very pretty colours. Essentially one tone + the red of the spartans capes. Love it all. The only bad thing I can say about the movie is the weird wrestler-esque costumes. I mean, they looked great at times, but I couldn't shake the feeling that they were just some WWE fighters with swords/armour.

Still worth seeing, and they still look totally badass. Glad I set it down as one of my "3 movies to watch in theatres this year".

Number two: Games! video games! Bought armoured core 4 on release, and promptly got all achievments bar one (the all perfect) over a couple days. I'm new to the series, but I'm glad I was recommended, loved the graphics, loved the gameplay. I kinda just plugged in, as my playstyle gelled well with the game.

Borrowed crackdown off of a friend, and beat it a couple times over (to get the co-op achievment). Very good game, but a bit too easy to beat. 490 agility orbs so far.

Oblivion still takes up a chunk of my playtime, going to pick up the shivering isles and jetpack soon.

Speaking of jetpack, I actually liked the arccade demo enough to consider buying! Cheesy music and effects are what won me over, combined with the love of jetpack. Check it out if you've got a 360!

Beat Ninja Gaiden black a while ago on normal (relatively quick too, 8hrs), been working my way through hard mode for a little bit. It's gotten tedious as it's really the same game over again, just takes twice as long to do stuff. Still awesome though. I shot myself in the foot when I beat the last three bosses in a row with no potions. I was NOT going through those damn ghost fish again.

I've actually not played gears in a while.. I really should. need to get my ranking up to where I was on the opening week (top 5000!)... yeah, not getting back there xP.

My scanner went AWOL, and with no tablet to draw with... I'm going to be stuck with posting colouring jobs for a little while.

what else... hmmm...

Oh yeah, I actually did make cookies just to eat the dough. I'm weird like that.

Well, I guess by "lots" I meant none.

Schools ben hectic, and I've not had too much time to finish any of those projects.

But, being in art, I've decided to take a new, fresh start. New everything, clean slate. I'll be uploading a few things that I've been doing for class, and continuing with my intermittent bursts of progress.

Let's just hope I can get SOMETHING done
