Of course, I added my own customizations and assorted monkey wrenches, but I owe them a plug for helping edumacate me in them thar fancy codeses.

New features in this CSS include The small box, good for lists, etc.

I'm going to dump those journal-stretching full-sized boxes with stamps etc in favor of this next fancy feature: Scrolled boxes!

Alright, yes. *cracks up* I heart seriouscat. Back to the point though, I guess this means I'm starting to attract dA attention a little faster than ususal. Because of this, I've become a bit more careful and thoughtful about what I say, do, and submit here. Hence the gallery cleanout I performed awhile back. Now that my exposure is increasing, I need to refine my image a little bit. I want to come off as a sophisticated, refined game humorist instead of an unsubtle, middle-school grade humorist. Except when I'm going for that middle school flavor. That makes sense, yeah.

Holy sheist. I never thought I'd ever get that many faves on one deviation ever. Now I feel like one o dem interwebernets celebrities!

I guess the dA community really needed a little bit of MAD style parody. I just expected someone else to have gotten to it already, but I guess my timing was good and fate threw me a slowball that I could home run.

So congrats to

for catching fav #100! Even though her username is exactly the kind of thing the guide targets for ridicule, she was still a good sport about it and enjoyed the guide nevertheless. Her gift for grabbing the big 100 is this here plug in this journal. Go look through her gallery if you like anime and wolves/big cats!

Also, another big plug is in order. Deviant

Did some major promotional stints for the guide without me even knowing! She posted journal entries just to tell her friends to go read my guide and kept plugging it in her shoutboard afterward. This person is a mom and a Disney fan, and yet she still didn't mind my crude language and chan-style humor. She said she even had her kid read it aloud to her! Chalk up some win for the guide!

So go give her some pageviews too, especially if you love Disney art. She has an excellent example of a good pagestretcher journal that I'm sure all you lulz hunters can learn from!

I have another new revision of the guide planned to celebrate these 100 faves, it shall include further stylistic polishing and a new section on the history of dA. The new policy change that allows people to call out deviants now will enable me to make lulz out of all the silly things that the admins have done here. Hopefully I won't get myself banned for it.

No real definitive word about how finals went, but based on how it felt to me, I'd like to just put them in the past and get on with summer, y'know.

ANYWAY, I've really missed you guys. The first 2 weeks without dA were excruciating. deviantArt withdrawal is painful business, and I didn't much enjoy going without my IMing either.

Technically, my school ended like 2 weeks ago, but I chose to continue my self ban up until now in order to get some work done without dA distracting me. All that extra time has allowed me to make a pretty big update to MMM-AJ.com

Though no new Gamecolumns submissions were answered this time, we've got new PiS strips among other surprises. I'll let you guys go to the site yourselves and see!

My dA inbox is freakin JAMMED FULL after such a long hiatus as well. And since my subscription expired while I was gone, I got no more thumbnails in my inbox. So, if you'll forgive me, I'm going to have to dump my inbox and start fresh. If any of you guys have a deviation you want me to comment on, or a journal that needs reading, NOTE ME with a link to it.

(Yes Zephyr, that new subscription you offered to buy me would be great now, btw.)

I'd like to thank everyone who wished me well on my goodbye journal. You guys were very understanding and supportive, and I appreciate that! Even though I really couldn't log on to see them until now, it was still really moving stuff. Even all my new watchers from the watch orgy who really still don't know me were kind and supportive, and I'd like to give a big shoutout to them as well. I think it speaks pretty damn well of the dA community that people would be so nice to those they barely know! Good work!

I wonder what has happened on dA and the internets in general since I was gone?

I'm not proud of it, but my grades this first year in college have been consistently poor. First semester I got straight C's and a D, and ended up on academic probation because of it. This semester I'm getting OK grades in all my other classes, except for phsyics, which I'm failing miserably.

My family and I have both come to the same basic conclusions: my crippling internet addiction is ruining my work ethic and is on the brink of destroying my grades and my future along with them. dA is only a part of this addiction, but nonetheless it's a big part of it. Something has to be done before it's too late and I end up getting expelled because of my grades.

So, in the traditional fashion like last year, the internet connection is getting ripped out of my room. The difference? It's not coming back, so long as I'm a student. My parents are also withdrawing their funding of my homepage at MMM-AJ.com, which will expire and cease to exist in November 2008. They don't plan on letting me have any internet again until after I graduate.

Quite frankly, at this point I can't blame them. Because of my idiotic addiction, I blew $9800 worth of tuition money, and ruined all my chances of ever getting into medical school or law school. Just this year alone has closed alot of doors in my life.

It would be a cop out to say that it's all the internet's fault, I know that it's my own lack of self control and responsibility that has lead to this end. But at least I can recognize this, and at least I am willing to try and make a change.

There is an upside to this: I might be able to negotiate internet access during the summer, when I don't have the responsibility to study. I'm also going to have periodic internet access outside my home as well, be it at work or on campus. I'll still be able to answer any notes or e-mails you send me, and I'll still be writing my fanfiction and posting it on fanfiction.net. The only thing that could stop me finishing my fanfic is death itself!

But I need to pump up my own personal self control, and that means a strictly regimented self-ban from deviantArt and the internet in general except to check my deviantArt notes and e-mail inbox. You will NOT ever see me active on deviantArt AGAIN during regular school hours unless I'm checking my notes. I need to force myself to keep this word for my future's sake.

Heh, figures this would happen right after I get my first deviation with over 50 faves and 100 comments. =/

Yep, I've been a member of deviantArt for three years today! And hoo boy have they been interesting years. I'v been everything from an illegal spriter, an endless fanfiction spammer, a somewhat temporary space artist, a fractalizer, and now a forum whore. With over 100 deviations, over 20,000 pagevies, and over 100 watchers, these three years certainly have been rich and fulfilling!

I'd like to give a shoutout to all of my watchers, (alive or otherwise), eveyone who commented on any of my stuff, and all everyone else who has supported me in any way.

Also, In 4 days, I'll be celebrating my 4 year anniversary of being a member of Fanfiction.net! I would like to also extend my thanks to everyone who ever reviewed my stories there, especially =ZephyrAnalea and ~Torcher999 & ~Mimic12455 for their devotion to reading and reviewing my endless fanfic franchise.

What am I going to do to celebrate, you might ask? Sadly, nothing but study for Midterms, which are racing up on me at lightning speed. I had originally planned on updating MMM-AJ.com this weekend with the boatload of new submissions that I got over the week, but alas, my mother has made me promise to spend the next 8 or so days on nonstop studying.

That's the other reason I'm posting this here jurnal, to tell you guys I'll be off for awhile studying for midterms. Try not to flood my inbox with TOO many deviations while I'm gone!

Other updates: You guys remember back when I called for voice actors who wanted to help me create an audiobook for 'Crossing of the Paths'? Well, I've decided to put in on official hiatus for now. It's been on unofficial hiatus for months, but I never finalized it until now. The reason? I need to revise and edit the story, and I'm too busy to get around to doing this right now. I'm too engrossed in writing tFM right now, along with keeping up on my college work.

I'm considering making flash movies out of Pokemon in Space. I already torrented a copy of flash, and now I just need to learn how to use it, and to retool the first 8 or so PiS strips so that they don't suck.

I'm starting to feel kinda excited about this whole flash thing. If I ever manage to train myself to be a competent animator, then I have at least 40 ideas for music videos bouncing around in my head that it would be really sweet if I figured out how to create. I know I probably shouldn't get my hopes up about it, because how much practice it would take, but hey, a guy can dream can't he?

I finally got off my ass and co-operated with my host to get the password to my domain login's password reset, since I had lost the password a long time ago. That means that MMM-AJ.com isn't doomed after all!

I haven't gotten to updating the site just yet, the physics homework has been really killer lately. But I'm going to try to have a new update on the site within the next two weeks. I've got a physics test on Tuesday that I need to study for extremely hard, so I'll work on the update gradually as the week goes.

I would like to give a big shout out to everyone who participated in National Bucktooth Spam Week! I ended up recieving three pieces of giftart for the occaison, much to my delighted surprise. I would also like to thank everyone who came to #BucktoothHQ to chat with me, you made my week much brighter! It's 11:23 PM on a school night! You know what that means kiddies, time for MMM to wax philosophical when he should be sleeping! *cheers and applause*

The subject of tonight's brain-dump: EMO!

Danger: This article contains high concentrations of tl;dr.

My train of thought was first set on these rails after the most recent drama with my grades and parents. If you were one of the few people who caught that journal of mine before I edited it, you know my grades were....not so great. (I blame Elder Scrolls IV!

) All C's and a D in fact. Naturally, this lead the family meltdown, and progressed into what one random internet 'tard would call an 'emogasm'.

Then came the calmer, more empathetic discussion with my parents that quelled the storm and solved the crises, which then lead to the latest incarnation of my previous journal where all was made well again. These events inspired alot of introspection on my part, and, me being the natural cheesehead (Read: full of holes) that I am, my mind drifted and wandered a bit. I came to think about devart in context with this again (SURPRISE!).

There are several people on my friend list here who have....how do you say it.......self-esteem issues. No I'm not calling anyone out. These people are constantly putting their own art down, oftentimes in extremely harsh ways, and sometimes quite often. Granted, I'm not exactly proud of my own current level of artistic ability, but I'm not spending every single deviation description of mine weeping about how much I suck.

I can see how people come to this state though. Look at the amazingly awesome art of~vaporeon249, and particularly, this deviation of hers:

If you actually clicked on that and looked at the full picture, you'd see what I mean. This artist has a skill level with Mewtwos/Mewthree's that I've dreamt of achieving for my entire life as a 'Two fan. If I were to sit there and dwell on how much my art sucks compared to hers, I'd probably end up in the same exact state as those others who I mentioned before. Especially since my hands shake alot, keeping me from drawing even a straight line very well.

But there's a life lesson that I learned from art and artists a long time ago: If you spend all your effort comparing yourself to your betters without working to improve, then you'll never get anywhere. This also applies to other facets of life, including my grades (which have nowhere to go but up it seems), I just forget it sometimes.

The brain's a funny thing. It can remember that there's an Episode of Star Trek that you wanted to tape at 5, but it can forget that big history assignment, and it certainly can forget that life is never totally shits and giggles if you're used to living well. To be honest, I've lived a damn good life with my free room, board, internet, food, everything, and yet I still feel these emo attacks come on. The difference between me and those who plaster it all over their dA page is that I try to remind myself that, no matter how shitty things feel, they can always be worse. I can color and moderately cel shade with photoshop, and some people don't even have photoshop at all. Come to think of it, some people don't even have computers, or even adequate food to survive. So whenever I feel an emo attack coming on, I just remind myself of the starving AIDs orphans in Africa, and suddenly my troubles don't seem so bad anymore. Trust me, this is why you only hear about my major episodes.

The moral of the story? Balance is necessary in all things, especially in one's view of the world. Also, sleeping is for losers.

Well, I'm not sure if I'm happier or more surprised.

We had a loooong talk today, my parents and I, and to my utter shock, they decided not to completely and totally ground me from the intrawebz anymore. Their reasoning was that if I just completely removed myself from it, I would never be able to learn day-to-day resistance of its temptation. Instead, we've devised a daily schedule that will allot 2 hours of studying, with me being allowed online after I'm finished with my homework and studying.

Wow, I subject you guys to all that drama, and then it falls flat when my parents decide to be generous to me.

Of course, this doesn't mean I won't be reworking my priorities and trying to improve myself, it just means that I'll be popping in with updates during the process. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to dance and celebrate wildly like a mentally handicapped person.

Once more, I'm sure you've heard it billions of times in other journals, but this time my mood is much improved so I won't be a downer!

I'd like to call out to any of my friends who might own a copy of Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. I've just finished creating 8 fresh new custom faction files, and I'd like to use them in a multiplayer hotseat game. Since I got the Alien Crossfire Expansion pack, I can't find the load faction button, and I can't use the scenario editor during a multiplayer game. Any help?

Wow, there were more journals in my inbox after Christmas than there were after my 1 week in Disneyland.

Merry Christmas and all that jazz, I'm sure you've heard it in billions of other journals so I'll leave it at that. =/

Why am I low on Holiday spirit you may ask? I got socks, a sweater, a Disney hat, and soap for Christmas. My only good gift was a futurama box set of DVDs. My parents' excuse was that my present is free tuition at CU. It's a reasonable excuse I guess, but it just doesn't take all the sting out of getting soap and socks for Christmas. =/

In other (image) unrelated news, I've decided to change around one of my projects. You know how I said I wanted to make a serious character reference of all my Mewtwo characters, right? I decided to make it into a wierd, freaky, "What the f*** are you smoking?" style picture. Expect many memes, whether they be 4chan, YTMND or internets in general. Since it's christmas break and all, I might actually get it done before the end of time as well. Rejoice!

Oh look, a new journal right after I said I would be away for finals. Well, I can explain.

Today, I awoke at 10AM and got to work studying. After 5 hours of crunching equations, I felt I needed a rest. My dad had been working on paperwork for about the same amount of time. We both agreed a break was needed, and it probably wouldn't hurt. We decided to go see the Eragon movie.

Now, me being the RABID, FOAMING AT THE MOUTH Eragon fan I was, I was excited about the movie. I was also worried about being dissappointed by the movie too, and I wanted to try and keep my standards reasonably low so I wouldn't be let down too hard. I couldn't possibly guess how low I needed to bring them.

You know, many people say that you enjoy a movie much more if you see it BEFORE the book that it was based on. Well, this movie would STILL have made me vomit even if I hadn't read the book first.

The words 'Bastardized' and 'Rape' are not strong enough to describe what the Hollywood skank-tards did to this movie. They ripped the book to tiny bits, smashed it back together with Elmer's Glue, and then desperately tried to cover over this abomination with a bunch of shiny polished special effects.

This is the most horrible example of how Hollywood can take an astonishingly beautiful book and turn it into just another excuse to look at special effects. Gone was the beautiful jeweled city of Tronjheim. Gone was Eragon's trip through the desert. Gone was his encounter with the Werecat. Gone was Roran's ordeal with the attack on Carvahall. I could go on, oh trust me, I COULD GO ON.

Seriously. As a fan of the Eragon book, I feel it is my solemn duty to warn ALL of my friends to avoid this movie like a plague. This movie ruined my vision of the book, and I don't want it to ruin any of yours' either.

To make this worse, my dad and I almost got into a fatal accident on the drive home from the movie. We were going through an intersection, right? Our light was green, and it wasn't a brand new one or a stale one. And yet, some fuckhead comes SCREAMING THROUGH THE LIGHT just as we are passing through. My dad slams on the brake just in time, and we miss out on T-boning him at 45 mph by a few inches.

The guy streaks off into the night, and dad and I decide to just drive on since we didn't touch him. But hell if that didn't scare the shit out of both of us. To look on the bright side, we made it through without a scratch, but that still doesn't make my day any better.

5 hours painful studying + 1.5 hours of beyond terrible movie + near death experience = Rotten day.

So yeah. Remember my friends. Avoid the Eragon movie. But don't avoid the book! The book is where the magic's at!

Seriously though, yeah, 'tis finals week. I just finished my first one (Japanese Lit), and I have 3 more left. Physiology and Algebra on Monday, and Bio on Wednesday. So naturally, I'll be out of comission until at least Wednesday night.

I stop checking dA for a few days and what do I get? over 500 messages in my inbox! You guys are just too freakin active!

Kidding, kidding, Just thought you should know that I just purged everything out of my inbox, so if there was anything important you wanted me to read or look at, tell me here and I'll do my best to hop over there and leave a comment.

And also, as soon as I finish playing through the new Zelda, I'll post my own personal review here and open up a forum thread for help with the game for those still playing through the first time.

More stuff on my mind:

I posted a new chunk of my next fanfic on fanfiction.net not too long ago, and I wrote this little author's not into it with that one flamer in mind:

A/N: Ive been doing a lot of thinking about what I write and, more importantly, WHY I write lately. Certain events concerning the last few chunks Ive posted have gotten here have forced me to re-examine myself as an author, and Ive come to a conclusion that has helped me both as an author and a human.

When I write, I do it as a creative and emotional release for myself. When I post my stuff here on its so that my few friends and readers can enjoy it. The fact that you guys give me reviews is a perk, though a rather large one. Whether a few glowing words or a full on critique, most of the time I appreciate it. And though I do appreciate the sentiment behind critiques that try to help me to improve my writing, it IS possible to cross the line into rudeness.

This leads me to make this conclusion: Since I write mostly for myself, I neednt worry about rude comments. Sure, people have the right to make them, but I have the right to ignore them if I feel they are mean spirited. Sure, I do try to improve myself as an author, but I cant please everyone who reads, and I certainly dont have to try if it means writing in a way that feels uncomfortable to me, especially when comments get rude. So from now on, Im going to change my policy: You can flame me all you want, but dont expect it to change anything. Of course, dont think Im not going to listen to your reviews, just make sure to be polite and everythings hunky-dory!

So far, the flamer hasn't said a word in reply. I think I may have finally made my point to him. I certainly feel better after getting it off my chest, that's for sure. So if he does choose to reply with nasty words again, I'll beat him over the head with this, and then post the conversation here for you all to see. We'll see what happens next!

Our local Costco bought nearly three times the number of Wiis than any other store, and the best part is, their shipment was late, so they missed the rush. They came in today, and I was #17 in a line of 40 people to get them, and I actually got one! WHOOO!

I'm sorry to say that MMM the night-janitor is no more. Say hello to MMM the IT Assistant!

That's right, I've gotten myself a nice cushy job sitting in front of a glowing computer screen! No more manual labor for me, I get to sit around and debug computers all day, and make more money doing it!

Technically, I lost my janitor job a loooong time ago, in August actually, but I didn't feel like making a journal about it at the time. My janitor boss replaced me with someone faster and better. I'm not really broken up about it either, since this new job is less work for more money!

I get to work in the daytime now, in between my classes! Sure feels wierd going to work while the sun's up after so many months working at night.

So far I've only had to re-install windows on a computer once, and it wasn't my fault either. I'm doing quality control and updation on old computers for the University and making $10/hour doing it! I feel stupendous!

Hey guys, consider this journal an extension on my last ramble about dA and popularity. Also note that whatever wierd crap I might say in here is being said in a controlled environment. Meaning, I'm just doing a raw brain dump and that there might be mushy or angry stuff in here.

I saw numerous journals on dA's today page concerning more pissed off artists and elitists who had bashed their work. I find that after reading these journals, I am filled with a number of various mixed and confused emotions. Let me explain them:

1. SYMPATHY - As I've said before, I too have tasted my share of the flames of elitist assholes, both here on dA and at fanfiction.net. Because of this, I can wholeheartedly empathise with those who have endured it as well. It's a terrible experience and it can really rip your self esteem a new one if it catches you off of your guard.

2. JEALOUSY - A natural reaction here. Several of the journals I've read were by extremely popular artists. I did some investigative work on these people, and found that many times they only get 1 flame for ever 100 praises, and it makes me feel a tad bitter. I don't get nearly as much positive attention as some of these people, and yet they get to throw huge fits about it? It feels unfair that I still get to deal with the assholes and try not to get TOO upset about it, without having the billions of people coming to my aid like some of these artists have, just because they draw Naruto Fanart.

3. - INTROSPECTION - After my initial fits of jealously, I remind myself that these other artists are human, just like me. I mean, I make angry journals too, I'm not immune to being hurt by flamers, so why should I expect the populars to be magically immune as well? Not to mention the fact that it's not fair to many of my friends who are even less popular than me as well. I'd be an asshole if I let this jealousy control me, but to deal with it sometimes I gotta acknowledge it. Therapeutic venting if you get my drift.

4. APPRECIATION - At this point I'm lead to think about those who DO still appreciate my artwork. For god's sake, I have over 100 watchers now! There are many, MANY artists here on dA who don't have it nearly as good as me. Sure, I may not have over 2 million pageviews or more like °jark or *bleedman, but I'm 80 away from having 20K, and that number is much higher than what most artists here on dA have. I gotta remember not to compare myself to the Bill Gateses of dA, and to count my blessings! And chances are, if you're taking the time to read through all of this and comment thoughtfully on it, you're one of those blessings!

5. ZEN - The final feeling that comes to mind in this list is very Buddha-like. Do I even need these nearly 20K pageviews that I've accumulated? My awesome internet buddy =ZephyrAnalea once taught me something very valuable. Back when I was in one of my deepest swings of depression, Zeph came to me and helped me to remember that all it takes to change the world is to touch one person. She told me how much my writing touched her, and how much a difference it made for her, and it helped me alot, and I do mean ALOT. It reminded that me that touching even ONE person the way I did is a major accomplishment, so why should I spend so much time fretting about pageviews or flames at all when I know I'm making a difference to someone? It was truly a healing time for me. I remember it again and again whenever I feel jealous of the populars, or whenever I have to deal with the elitist flamers, and it helps keep me emotionally balanced. And also, posting journals like these wherein I bare all my feelings can be very therepeutic as well.

So, in conclusion, I would like to make a few statements:

1. To the populars: Life will always have the rough times and the fun times. You're lucky enough to have hundreds or even thousands of adoring fans. And even though I might feel twinges of green envy from time to time, I do not hold your popularity against you, nor do I wish any more flaming on you than what you've already endured. I can only hope to be as lucky as you one day.

2. To the not-so-populars: Keep at it! Though you may never become as well known as the populars, or even as me, and even though you will probably see your fair share of flames as well, don't give up! Try to touch that single person, and be satisfied when you do! Your stay at deviantArt will be soooo much more enjoyable if you can remember that!

The computer arrived this weekend. I spent 8+ hours reinstalling programs and drivers, and moving files over from my old compy. Oh man was everything worth it!

I tried out UT2K4 on maxed graphical settings. The game actually said "Holy Shit!" to me when I turned everything up to the max. This gave me a real belly laugh.

Graphics were awesome at max settings, and the game played at a smooth as glass 50fps.

I then tried out Homeworld 2. Normally not as demanding, but I maxed out the settings on it too, and then downloaded a mod that removed the ship population limit. I build a fleet of over 450 individual fightercraft and loosed them upon my enemies, and those 2 SLI'd 7900GT's rendered every single ship, contrail, bullet, and explosion flawlessly at the same 50fps. I got to watch every single little ship in the horde in fully rendered glory, and it was a moment of utter beauty.

(Ready for that HW2 match yet Ken, btw?

I also tried out Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends, and boy that's a fun one, but extremely wacky! The races are: Steampunk tank driving italians, Magic wielding scorpion riding arabians, and Mayans with UFO Technology. I shit you not, this game's freakin' trippy!

And now, I'm going to try and break my artist's block by starting one o' 'dems artist challenges. No, I'm not delusional enough to try and do the 100 pictures thing, I'm going to be realistic and just do a collage of all my Mewtwo Characters. Here's a list for easy reference:

I know it's a bit unusual for me to make a new journal so soon after the last one, but I gots more stuff to say.

Good lord it took forever for my new computer to finally ship out! It took over 2 WEEKS for them to piddle around in just quality control alone! I ordered the damn thing over a month ago last week!

My conclusion: The IBuypower website is great if you want a cheap, powerful computer, but are willing to wait until hell freezes over to get it.

Still, besides my infuriation with their piss poor customer service, I'm still excited about getting my hands on such an awesome compy for such an awesome price. The same specs on an official HP comp would have cost 2.5 to 3 times as much! And now that it's on it's way to my house in a Big Fedex truck, I've got 'GSS' (AKA Giddy Schoolgirl Syndrome) again.

But man oh man o man, I had the most traumatic and graphic nightmares last night. I always feel better after sharing them with people, so I'm going to describe them to you.

WARNING: Extremely graphic descriptions of violent dreams ahead! The weak of stomach should stop reading!

ANOTHER WARNING: This is a very loooong description, so be ready to sit and read for a long while if you're not afraid of the grossness.

The dream started out with me riding home from campus with one of my friends and his mom. You guys all know that I live waaay far off campus at home with my parents to save money, right? Well, I was catching a ride with Andre since my Dad seemed to be missing for some reason. For some reason, it was very dark and late at night too, even though I usually go home long before sunset.

As we get close to the city where I live, we see huge plumes of brown smoke and hundreds of glowing orange fires off in the distance in the city, and I'm struck with fear and worry. As we approach the city limits, the form of a man leaps in front of the car, and Andre's mom swerves violently, causing the car to crash into the ditch. The three of us make it out of the car unscathed, but when we climb out to look for this man, we find that he was nary a man as much as a vicious, flesh eating zombie.

The zombie lunges at Andre's mom and sinks its rotting fangs into her neck, ripping out her spinal cord and killing her insantly. Andre runs back to the car, produces a shotgun, and blows the Zombie to bits before it could finish its meal.

Andre is strangely unfased by the loss of his mother, and he decides to escort me the rest of the way to my house and protect me from the now apparent zombie plague with his trusty boomstick. I don't question why his mom keeps such a large gun in the trunk of her car.

As we enter the neighborhood where I live, we discover that the place is in shambles. Several houses are half destroyed by military bombings intended to kill the zombies, and several more have burned down. My house is intact, and a car belonging to one of my mom's friends is idling in the driveway. Walking towards the house we are assaulted by the zombies of my neighbors, several of whom were good friends of mine, and were forced to shoot them all. I can still see the dead, dead looks in their eyes and the organs spilling out of the holes that Andre's shotgun blew in them as they fell. Before we make it inside, Andre is bitten on the arm by one of them, and after killing it, he asks me to shoot him with the shotgun before he turns. It was a horrible part of the dream, yes, but paled when compared to what came next.

When I entered my home carrying Andre's shotgun, I find my mom and dad in the living room talking with Julie, whose car was in the driveway. They quickly inform me that the plague has infested the entire city, and that the US Government is about to use a nuclear cluster bomb to wipe it and the rest of the entire state off of the map in less than an hour. Then mom and dad both show me where they got bitten by zombies, and told me that I had to escape with Julie and leave them behind before they turned. They also told me that my little sis had been bitten too, and had already turned, and that they had locked her up in her room.

That was the most emotionally traumatizing part of the dream, to see the 2 most important people in my life afflicted and slowly turning into corpses. I ran up to my room, which is nextdoor to my sister's room coincidentally, to fetch my stuff, and I hear her in there moaning and scratching violently at her door. I quietly gather up what few things I can afford to carry. I hear Julie shout, and run downstairs with my stuff to see my mom and dad now fully turned, trying to bite her. Nothing updated here, I just had some thoughts that were burning holes in my brain and needed to be typed out.

19,201 Pageviews now, I'm only a handful of days away from the Big 20K now. It got me thinking about the price of popularity here on dA.

Many of you know about how the staff members here pick certain deviations for a daily feature, right? It's cool, for 24 hours said piece is plastered over the front page for all to see in what I can only describe as a viewfest. Sounds cool, eh?

WRONG.

I've seen it happen time and time again...these features are absolute flamebait for all the elitist asshole artists of dA. Poor souls who never asked for popularity will suddenly find a messsage center full of screaming flames like "OMG J00 suck this doesn't deserve a DD!" and the like.

Then I realised that the same thing happens to works that make it into the popular section as well. This made me wonder, is my upcoming 20K really a good thing?

I mean, sure, I've dealt with elitism before. You guys saw the drama unfold when I got bashed by an ex-friend on fanfiction.net, and more than once I've beaten te occasional flamer off with my trusty Brick, but it's never been overwhelming like I've seen on some DD's. Read down farther into the comments on this DD and you'll see what I mean: [link]

Vicious aren't they? So I thought I would just take this moment to say, please DON'T suggest any of my art to the staff for a Daily Deviation! Sure, the exposure would be nice, but I really don't want to have to pay for it by becoming the center of a massive flamewar, you know.

In the end, I'm sure I'll still have to face up to more elitist assholes in the future, including the same guy on fanfiction.net who flamed me before. I just thought I'd throw down my thoughts on the matter in a quick journal entry before hitting the sack.

If that ffnet flamer does try his crap again, I'll be ready for him this time. I've got a nice, long, biting reply cooked up and ready in my head, and this time it won't be as nice as my last reply to him. I'll be using ffnet's fancy new user blocking feature in conjunction with it too, should the need arise. I just hope that won't be necessary in the future.

And to those who criticize art: I respect your right to dislike my work. It's cool if you think my fanfics are cheesy or my space art is unpolished. But the moment you get derogatory and rude in your comments, you'd better be ready for a block.

And with that off my chest, I feel like I can now get a good night's sleep. Thanks for putting up with my ramblings fellas!
