For those who don't know, Mianol is a new world I've been creating. I've always been searching for somewhere that my characters truly belonged and I think this is it. Its a medieval type world although is more comparable to the Final Fantasy series than real life. Magic is common and all that. For those who have been reading my recently submitted story chapters, that is Mianol. Could call it a prologue of sorts.

The real works of Mianol will be done in comic form. Yes its a big step but its the only way to do it justice I feel. I'm currently sketching out initial character concepts which will be airing in my scraps gallery at some point today.

I've got the actual world itself sorted out already along with general culture, beliefs, magical workings and similar things. All I need to work on is the plot and that has also started to take shape over the coarse of the day.

Might be a few months before I post up anything solid but watch this space for more info. Oh yeah, and in case no-one noticed, I've changed mediums, say hello to MTP in Prismacolor! ^^

My last update in terms of journal posts was back in June last year but even then I wasn't updating regularly. Perhaps it was the ways of life eating up my time or maybe I just got into one of my slumps that I never got out of. Either way I pretty much vanished off the face of the planet baring an occasional art post here and there.

I still don't post much art even now. My style has started to stagnate and I feel as if I've slid back a few steps in terms of forward progress. Still, that's how it is and I've got to deal with it right?

For the last year I've been settling into a new job in London and it has eaten a great deal of my time. My creative drives have also changed, I don't tend to draw as much but I'm starting to pick up fiction writing again.

Recently I've been working on a new piece of work set in a world entirely of my making. It's not complete yet but I've decided to post it up here as well as my Fiction Press account. I have ideas of turning it into a series but the work is very slow so I'm not sure how realistic that might be. But I will try.

I need to start working on this place and making it all pretty again, I had a go a few years back but it didn't work out too well. Still, gotta try yeah? Later people.

Anyway just a quickie. I've decided to stop doing coloured art for now. Why? Well at the moment my life is always busy and I don't often have time to sit down and draw. This hasn't stopped my creative mood from thinking though and that presents a problem.

No matter what I do I keep getting ideas for new pics or characters or whatever on an every few day basis. This doesn't play well when it takes me on average about 3 or 4 weeks to do a complete colour pic from initial idea to finished product.

See while I'm working on a pic I like to stick with it until its done, I hate leaving things half finished even if for just a little while. So the ideas keep coming but the time I have to draw is tiny. So a lot of my ideas back up and then they all hit me at once. When this happens I get very disinterested in the pic I'm doing and generally put it down for weeks at time.

Thus I've finally decided that I need to speed up my drawings so this doesn't happen. Not to say that I'm gonna rush them but by not inking and colouring I can knock loads of time of each one I do. Besides, with 90% of my drawings I think they look better as a sketch or a simple pencil drawing rather than a full colour one. Either because the scanner rapes my colours and shading or I fluff up when inking or other random events.

So yeah, I'm gonna work on pencil drawing instead. 'Sides I'm interesting in experimenting with pencil shading and stuff so it could be rather fun. ^_^

Then last weekend disaster struck...well sorta. My computer blew up. x_x In the end all it needed was a new power unit and everything else is fine...but it left me without a computer for a week while it was fixed. That in turn led me to dig out my creative mood, brush the dust off it and then take it for all its worth.

Three pictures later and I've got my computer back! Mind you I've still got that creative mood and a week and a half off from work! W00t! So yeah, more pictures are likely over the next week or so....if I can think of anything. I need to redesign Links....yes again! Can't think of what to do with him yet but it will happen!

I'm back now though and I've got a slightly different style if you've looked at my latest stuff. Been doing a few oekaki pictures recently but I don't really have time for those any more, might do a few now and then though.

Nope, my new style is pencil only! Ever since I started outlineing and colouring my work I've become less and less satified with it. I keep saying to peopel that my sketch work is always better than my finished stuff....so I decided, why not just do sketch work?

So yeah, you're unlikely to see a coloured pic from me very oftewn, when you do enjoy it! So, go look at some of my latest stuff, nothing too exciting I'll admit but I've not picked up a pencil properly in like 6 months now. Well I guess anyway...can't say Christmas really excited me this year. Dunno why....maybe it jsut feels wrong celebrating it without dad around. *shrugs slowly* Not exactly the best Christmas I've had either...our financial situation still stinks like a rancid cabbage. I mean I'm loosing the internet at the end of January unless I can find a permenant full time job to help pay for the damn thing. *sigh*

Anyway...Christmas, yeah. One of our nans came up on Christmas Eve to spend Christmas with us. She's going back today I believe or it might be tomorrow. I'll give a quick low down as to happens before Christmas too.

Firstly my hours at work have been cut seriously. I was slowly building up my hours towards Christmas, I was up to 15 a week (yeah not that impressive is it...I hate my life) but I'm back down to 10 now. Why? Our manager was banking hours from early in the Xmas period to use now and suddenly the company says she can't do that out of the blue. Fucktards! I was supposed to be working today! I get triple pay on Boxing Day and I put my name down a good month ago when she first asked! For 5 hours work (my usual shift) I could have got £75 instead of the normal £25! Instead I've been given a 5 hour shift on Wednesday and a possible 5 hours shift on Saturday. *sighs again*

So yeah, not too happy about that, frankly my mood at the moment has been crap. Everyone I know and see is sitting pretty in terms of security. Me, I'm scared shitless. Truthfully I am, I've never been this worried in my life...or at least for a long time. I've been trying to get a job for the last 4 months now and all I've managed is this shit little piece of crap part time game shop job! This is not how I saw my future dammit! I was laying in bed last night thinking about it....kept me awake for an hour and a half, I just couldn't get it out of my mind.

This all said, I am glad for something. All you guys online! Whether we speak much or just a little I love you all! You help to give me strength and help me through things. You're my safety net...cos I know if I didn't have you I'd break down. That's what worries me so much about loosing the internt in January...I really don't want to loose you guys online!

I mean....without you guys Christmas would have been a bit meager for me this year. From my family I got the following:

- A new pair of dress shoes
- An umbrella
- A scarf my sis knitted herself
- A book
- About £40 in cash from all my relatives

And then you guys online got me:

Woohoo!

Man today was fan-fricking-tastic! ^o^ Long day but never a bad moment. Let me begin my tale yesterday.

We set of about 9am to dfrive down to Bradford where we would be spending the night at my grandmas. The reason we set of so early was my mum wanted to look at a few houses on the way, we're moving sometime in the near future you see. Anyway, after getting a little lost, thanks to crappy directions, we found both places and looked round. The first place was a nice little cottage, the second more modern. I could tell my mum would have bought the cottage if she had the means.

Anyway, we got to Bradford and visited my mum's mum. She had just got out of hospital recently after an operation to remove the cancers in her breasts. Seems like cancer is a big thing in our family. She was happy to see us and it was good to see her too, not seen her in months...years maybe. O_O Well then we headed to my dad's mum's place and had dinner. Not seen her in ages either so it was good to catch up on things. I did some drawing, talked a bit and retired to bed...I was tired as hell after all the stuff we'd done.

Then the big morning came. I was up at 7am...although not without a groan. I had a quick wash and then nabbed some breakfast before having a shave. X_X Trouble struck, I'm new to shaving (that is with a razor anyway) and managed (for the second time) to slice my face. It was a clean cut, didn't hurt a bit, but it did bleed. So I stuff a tissue on it and go to get changed. The next problem emerged, I was wearing a white shirt. I managed to avoid getting blood on it until the last moment, I bent over to pick up my tie only for the tissue to slip away and the collar of my shirt to touch my cut. I ended up with a small spot of blood in the middle of my collar. Luckily my jacket covered it...just....but it was still very annoying.

Well we headed down to the university and arrived early even during rush hour. @_@ Crazy stuff. Well we hung about in my department for a bit then decided to go and get my graduation robes and tickets. Here's a couple of pics of my with my family. ^_^

Anyway, we then headed back to my department where we had some drinks and talked to some of the professers and stuff. Then it got to 10.45am and we headed down to the Great Hall where the ceremony would take place. We were let in about 11am and it started about 30 minutes later. The ceremony took about an hour and I was nervous as hell before I went up to get my degree. My family couldn't help but "W00t!" when I went up. XD So yeah, that was pretty cool, not a whole lot I can say about it though. ^_^;;;;

Afterwards we went to get some photos taken and took my robes back. Then we headed back to the car and set out to get some lunch as it was approaching 1pm. My mum decided to take us all to this pub her and my dad had gone for one of their anniversaries. So we headed off, hoping to get there before 2pm when they stop serving food. We didn't we got there at 2.20pm and it was too late. So we just had some soup and a drink and decided to book a table for dinner.

To pass the time, about 3 hours, we decided to head into the nearby town of Northallerton and go shopping. Didn't take long to get their and park up and we spent nearly all our time in this one shop. It was one of these posh expensive clothes shops and while the girls went to look round the ladies section, myself and my bro went to look at the mens department. OH! MY! GOD! The clothes they had made me drool almost. For those who don't know I actually enjoy clothes shopping and like dressing up in smart stuff. So when I saw the vast array of shirts, jackets, coats, trousers, ewtc they had I was in heaven. I knew I wouldn't be able to get anything, I mean the cheapest jacket I found was about £130! >_>;;;; So I just looked, hoping that one day I'd have enough money to buy all these fancy things.

After a while we went back up to meet the girls and found they were buying thinds off the reduced price racks (the mens department didn't have one ¬_¬). They still managed to spend about £120 on a few jumpers and a t-shirt. ^_^;;; Well then we headed over the road to this hotel where we got a cup of tea. While we were waiting for it to come I told my mum about this lovely coat I found in the mens department. It was dark blue, thick and padded and had a fur lining. *sighs* It was lovely...but the price tag was £230!

Here's a quite for you, "You wait half an hour for a bus then three come at once." Today it was more like "You wait an hour for a bus then three come at once and you miss them all!" @_@

Seriously! Let me explain.

I got out of work at 5.45pm. My bus home was at 5.38pm...typical. So I decided to wander to the bus station, stopping off at Games Workshop to buy some more Warhammer 40k stuff (more on that later). I get to the bus stop at 6.00pm to find out there was a bus at 5.57pm that I could have got, typical eh? Well I committed myself to a wait when suddenly a bus I could get pulled up at the station in a different spot to where it usually pulls up. I sat up and was like, "Huh?" o_O "What's that doing here?" Well the driver got out and locked the bus up, I figured it wasn't going any further so I settled back down to listen to my mp3 player. Then, unknown to me, the bus driver decided to go back to his bus, pick up a bunch of peopel and drive off five minutes later! I only noticed when he drove past the place I was waiting.

So I was like "What the frell nuts?!", leapt from my seat and sprinted down the street to the next stop, only to see the bus pulling away when I got within about 2 meters! It then got stuck at some traffic lights and I thought "Right buitch I AM getting on you!" and proceeded to run to the next stop. Only problem is, the next stop was like 2 stops distance away due to the road crossing a river. I got to the other side of the bridge and was literally hacking my guts up so I just gave up. The bus drove by and that was that.

Then I waited around at the next stop for a bus. It was now 6.15pm and the next bus wasn't until 6.38pm so I had a bit of a wait. Well I was sitting there at the stop just waiting (around 6.25pm) and another bus pulls up at the stop. I pay it no heed, its not mine. Then suddenly a bus passes it and carries on down the road....baring a number I could have got! >______< I was about ready to scream at this point but I was too busy hacking my lungs up from the run. I was pissed to say the least. I finally got a bus at 6.33pm, five minutes earlier than scheduled. I swear these busses run whenever they darn well feel like! I'm ringing the company and complaining tomorrow. ¬_¬

Well in other news, my recent obsession with Warhammer 40k is nearing fruition. I am now only one purchase away from having my own army. Then all I have to do is paint it (or undercoat the whole lot in black anyway) and I can play with it. ^_^ I'm looking forward to it, it'll be nice to play something other than proxy matches against my brother. @_@ If anyone is interested I snapped a few shots of what I have so far.

The scene that happened nearly 20 times today just walking to the darn bus stop. x_x Yeah, if you can't tell, we finally got snow here in my part of the UK. It fell on Sunday night and I woke up Monday with this kind of reaction...

*gets up*

"Frell its cold today..."

*Opens curtains*

"HOLY FUDGENUTS OF CAMBRIDGE RAT CELLARS!"

Yeash something like that anyway. Thick snow, I mean thick, like 3 inches of the darn stuff. Not seen that much snow in a long time. Global warming...pfft! Anyway, lucky me had work on Monday and I ended up being 20 minutes late. Not bad to say the roads were like an ice rink and our bus got stuck going up a darn hill and ended up sliding into a ditch! X_X

Anyway, Monday's work was kinda tiring. I literally cleaned the entire shop myself in a matter of hours. Not the entire shop but nearly all the shelving racks. Lets see there must have been 1, 2, 3...about 100 shelves in total. Each one had to have its contents removed, dusted and polished, and its contents put back on again. @_@ Nice huh.

Well I got home and cabbaged for a while. Today was fun too. Went to the gym this morning....but not before missing a bus that somehow managed to be 10 minutes early in snowy conditions! Crazy huh? Well today was even worst for slipping up than yesterday. The snow from yesterday had melted, then frozen again overnight.....it was like trying to walk on an ice rink. Like I said earlier, I nearly slipped up 20 times just walking to the darn bus stop. I had even more fun this afternoon too, I had a driving lesson. XD I did ok though, managed to avoid pilling it into anything or skiding. ^_^

I also helped clean out the garage a bit today too. Set my allergies off...big surprise there. I hate dust, I really hate dust. Now I have a cold or something, probably a mix of allergy reactions and waiting in the cold for 40 minutes for a damn bus this morning. Well I'm gonna go to bed soon anyway, got work again tomorrow. Should be ok, Friday though will be a bitch. Why? Let me spell it out for full impact.

Thus I'M WORKING ON THE XBLX 360 LAUNCH DAY! I AM SO FRICKING SCREWED! I'm gonna end up spending the whole day answering the same question over and over.

"Do you have any Xbox 360's left?"

NO WE FRICKING DON'T! YOU SHOULD HAVE ORDERED ONE IN AUGUST YOU STUPID GOITS! WE ONLY HAVE 20 UNITS TO COVER A 30 MILES SQUARE AREA! OF COURSE WE DON'T HAVE ANY FRICKING UNITS LEFT!

Honestly Microsoft are completely stupid! You launch a console and only make enough to supply like a few percent of people who want one! Saying that why people want a 360 is beyond me anyway, the thing is a fricking glorified PC! "ZOMg I can put mi picturs on it!" Big fricking deal! If I want to upload digital pictures, talk to my friends and other crap I'll use my PC. Why do I need a console that costs nearly £300 and then several hundred more for accessories to do it for me?

A game console is just that, a game console....NOT A FRICKING PC! Microsoft, you're all completely braindead you gormless lizard nuts! Ok ok, rant over....for now. Watch out, I'll likely rant again on Friday.

For now I'm going to bed before I sneeze my head off!

Why? Well I'm loosing confidence in my colouring ability for varying reasons. Plus I find inking a drawing to be a complete ass! I normally always screw up in some way (I draw over the wrong line, slip, leave a smudge, etc). Then when I colour I sometimes screw up too (either by bad colour co-ordination, bad shading or going over the lines).

So the question, pencil sketches or full colour? What does everyone think?

Can someone please tell me what these Harvesters are that I keep hearing about? o_O I've seen several people here on DA putting up Harvester Profiles...usually involving LARGE weapons...and I like large weapons. ^_^

Anyway, in other news the holiday is still going good. Been spending hours and hours playing games with my mate Leon. Timesplitters 3, Final Fantasy 3 (aaaaah how retro!) and a few others. I heard we're going mini golfing soonish so that'll be fun. Other than that, nothing much to report but its going well. ^_^

Oh yeah and I'm nearly at 4000 page views now! 'oly CRAP! I've still not finished the pick for Naya yet for 3000 views. >_> Seriously man, I'll get it done I will, promise....after the holidays. So yeah, if you're lucky 4000 gimme a call and I'll get you a pic too.

Well hey all! @_@ Lynx the crazy Brit coming at ya live from the the US of A. ^_^ Yeah I', on holiday now for 2 months so it's likely you won't see many updates until August...that's not to say I won't be checkign back here and drawing in the meantime though. I thought it was high time to make an update on goings on and stuff so here it is. Guess I better start from the top and all with the trip over!

This year was probably the worst in terms of flying, not because of flight delays though. On the contary! The flights were great! Bang on time and no problems with customs or baggage or anything! What sucked was the timing! @_@

I got the train to the airport at about 8pm...having got the bus to the station at 7pm due to our car being broken. Joy eh? Anyway, the train took about 3 hours to get to the airport and then the waiting began. I arrived 11pm...my flight was 10.45am with check in around 8am. *falls over*

So yeah, I had a few hours of uncomfortable sleep and then sat about doing very little until my flight. I was tempted to buy a digital camcorder at the duty free shop...but it ran on AAA batteries (4 of them too...thus expensive) and only had a 16MB memory card...or about 5 minutes of footage time. I tell ya, it was cheap (90 pounds....no pound sign on this keyboard @_@) but the reason was obvious! To get a decent memory card was the same price again so I was like "Oh hell no, I'm gone, cya!". So ended my trip to the duty free electronic shop.

Well I eventually got on my flight and took off. I was flying with American Airlines rather than British Midland like the previous 2 years...it was ok but I prefered Midlands. Why? The seats were nicer and we had our own private TV screen with a selection of movies and TV programs. American only had 1 TV per area of the plane and only one channel. But then again the flight looked about half booked so I ended up having 2 seats to myself! O_O OMG YES! Initiate sleep mode! ZZZZZZZZZZ!

Yup that was me for several hours whilst on the flight. I only woke up to eat (I was hungry) and to watch the Incredibles (funny film but I'm glad I saw it then rather than pay for it). Well the transfer was painless too as was customs. I got to Greenville feeling somewhat awake and ready to go. I had to wait around a bit for Viper (the first friend I'm visiting this summer) to pick me up but I didn't mind. Gave me time to rest a little after the flight.

So, onto this week. Well I can't say I've done a lot of outside activities or visited places but I've had fun. Spent the first few days beating Xenosaga on the PS2, now that my friends is one nice RPG if you're interested. Meanwhile Viper was busy drooling over my 150MB collection of anime and soundtracks on my hard drive I'd brought along with me.

After Xeno came Star Ocean 3 but I only got about half way through that. I didn't expect to finish that mind, the game seems to be huge....and again another VERY nice RPG for all interested. The last few days have been different though. Myself and Viper spent most of yesterday planning and writing the beginning of a Gundam Seed based story. It's looking good so far but we've got a long way to go that's for sure. Today we mostly spent out of the house. We went out for breakfast and dinner but ended up skipping lunch entirely. @_@ Not good, by 3pm I was nearly brain dead. Seriously people, make sure you get 3 meals a day....the side effects of skipping lunch ain't pleasant. x.x

I'm not afraid to say I got a little depressed today. Viper and his mom went out to get his dad a fathers day gift and I ended up going along. I could have stayed home but I didn't know that was what they were going for and was too engrossed with talking to Viper that it didn't click either. As they looked through the cards and such my mood kinda hit rock bottom. I mostly remained quiet, choosing to just sit with it and not act on it. I can thank my mum and her Buddhist training for that. She's a great fountain of advice really, love her.

So yeah, I got a bit down but I brightened up later. Now I'm feeling quite alright, not 100% but certainly not depressed any more. Seriously though, a message to everyone. This Sunday make sure the day is special! Having a father isn't something to take for granted. You might not get along well with him at times but if you're anything like me you still love him even when you're mad at him. You never know what is going to happen tomorrow so make sure you cherish every moment you have with him.

So anyway I'll close there. My next update will be from Leon's place probably next week sometime. My bus is tomorrow at 1.40pm and I'll get to Leon's place about 12.30pm on Sunday. So yeah, later all!

Seriously! I've not been happy with a lot of drawings I've done recently and I've been unhappy with my colouring skill for the best part of a year. Now I find it hard to even bring pencil to paper!

It's not that I don't have inspiration (although this is part of the problem) I just CAN'T draw!

Take today for example. I started on a sketch, did the basic shape skeleton and then started to add detail. Instantly I messed up the nose, leaving a massive smudge on my work and a channel in the paper cos I accidently presseed on too hard. I tried again but still it looked crap. Eventually I just threw my entire sketch book at my bed and forgot all about it.

So..am I? Is it really worth it any more? I've been trying to answer these myself and getting no where. I feel like my art has hit the final road block. I've not made any improvements in months, I'm just stuck in the same hole going nowhere.

A lot has happened in the last few months I know but its not just that. Looking around at other people's work I just get disheartened too. My colouring sucks, my shading is none existant, I can't do backgrounds with any amount of skill, I can't CG...hell can I do anything well?

I'm mere inches from packing it all in I really am. The one conclusion I've drawn is that compared to others I'm just not good at all. I suck! I hate my work. I have no confidense in it any more.

Urg!

Whatever...I'm off to get chocolate before I start banging my head on the desk in fits of "what's the point any more".

Yesterday was my last exam, it wasn't too bad but I was so glad it was all over and done with. I went back home and started packing for my trip back to Durham today. Well I got it mostly packed up and settled to do the rest in the morning.

That night was good, me and the guys in our house went out to finally celebrate my 21st birthday. We went to Pizza Hut and had a rather large meal before heading to the local cinema to see Star Wars 3. Damn that was a good film, I'm so wanting to watch the original 3 again now...well I was.

I went to bed feeling quite happy but even so had a bit of a rough night sleep. Then my mate woke me up at 7.45am saying I had a phone call from my mum. I was like... "...ok! Why's she ringing at this time?" I didn't really mind though, I had been planning to ring her that morning anyway to find out when my ride was arriving.

Well the phone call had a simple message, get home quick now...dad is getting worst. For those who don't know, he was diagnosed with liver cancer back at Easter It sent a chill down my spine. I was supposed to be getting picked up today and would probably have arrived about 3pm but my mum wanted me on a train and home now! I quickly grabbed a couple of my bags and left, thankfully all my clothes and stuff were in one bag.

I got on the train about 9.05am, the first one I could get when I arrived at the station. The journey took just over an hour but I was feeling terrible all the way there. Looking back now I think a part of me knew what was going to happen.

Well I got picked up by a neighbour and got home for 10.30am. One of mums buddhist monk friends was there to greet me with a single line... "You're father is dead..."

I still don't think the reality of it all has hit me yet. I couldn't speak for an hour after that, all I did was sit next to my dads bed and stare into the middle distance. My mum looked awful, my sis was in tears half the time and my brother was just quiet.

Apparently he had died at about 9.30am that morning...just after I had got on the train. It just didn't seem real. I knew it was going to happen but nothing ever really prepares you for it. His appearence alone shocked me...he was yellow and you could see his ribs and bones.

He's resting now I guess...

You won't know about this...I've only posted the updates in my Live Journal...but this is important now so I feel I should show it here too.

Last week my dad was taken into hospital with crippling pain in his bowels. He just had his operation to remove a blockage yesterday and I went to see him today.

*stares aimlessly at the wall*

I've been like that ever since I got home. *sigh* Let's just say the visit wasn't what I was expecting. He seemed fine and happy when we saw him. Full of worry about little things but that's normal after an operation I guess.

Well we sat and talked for a couple of hours and then my mum and I decided to hunt down a doctor to get some details about the whole situation. What we got shocked us both...badly.

It turns out the blockage in my dads bowel was indeed a cancer growth. They don't know what kind yet but they said they had removed it. That should be a case of sighs all round shouldn't it? Well there's more. The growth wasn't just a new one...it'd been there a while steadily getting worst and worst. Not only that but it had spread to his liver and they had to remove part of that too.

They also believe the cancer has spread to other parts of his lower body and...

...

...

...well there's a chance he won't make it. Hard to believe really. He seems fine, he was even cracking jokes when we were talking to him and making new plans for his life and stuff. Right now how long that life may be isn't known. It'll be a couple of weeks until they know the results of the tests and they might be able to give him chemotherapy...but then again they might not.

I just feel so blank right now. I don't know how to feel or what to do. My heart seems to have dropped out of everything right now. I know I have to keep going but...apart from my grandad (who I wasn't very close to) no-one I know has died.

Shit...not my eyes are watering and I'm getting a headache. I'm going to go take some paracetamol and see if I can work this out. I'll update you all later everyone. THank you so much to everyone who has helped support me...I might need some more soon...

ARGH! It's looking more and more likely that I'll be taking a leave of absense for a while. I just feel like I'm grinding against a brick wall.

My motivation, confidence and enthusiasm seems to be deserting me more and more every day. You'll probably notice it in a few of my more recent submissions. For some reason at the moment I just can't bring myself to draw anything...and when I finally do draw something I'm not even the slightest bit happy with it.

It's not only here though, I haven't made a comic in two or so months and my writing has slowed to a interupted trickle. That said my entire life seems to be doing this right now. I've got two university projects to start and I just can't bring myself to start them, I've got other stuff that needs doing but I don't do it. Instead I find myself sitting in various places around the house wishing I could bang my head of the damn wall!

What the hell is wrong with me? I don't have the power to do anything right now, as much as I might want to. It's....depressing I guess.

So yeah, until I work this out you're unlikely to hear much from me. I might upload a picture now and then but it won't be anything major and will probably suck like some of my latest pics.

Oi! Well I'm going to go lie down for a bit...but even so I don't know why, I don't even want to do that. *sigh*

Well it's done! I decided to subscribe to this fine place and I'm already liking it. The thumbnail deviant view you get is just brilliant for checking out new work! Damn how did I ever do without it?

Not only that but I've decided to get my ass moving and actually add a touch of paint to this place....well that is to say add a few more details to my user page and the likes. For now thought I'll have to wait until after my exams and my hard drive is fixed before I do too much.

Well anyway, this time at the college was different. A few weeks ago the government took over the college, because it's crown property and they can do that, and handed it over to the military. There had been threats of a fire service strike in some areas of the country and the government decided that the military, who take over fighting fires in case of a strike, needed more training.

We weren't allowed on the site at all and neither were any of the fire college staff the whole time the military was there. Thankfully they left the week before we arrived but the college needed time to tidy up and get ready for students again so we still couldn't stay there.

Instead we found ourselves staying at a nearby hotel called the Manor House Hotel....and believe me it was FRICKING NICE! If you want to see how nice click the below link:

Seriously that's where we staying all week! That places costs twice my weekly rent here at Leeds to stay for one night! Thank god the Ministry of Defense was paying the bill. ^_^ Oh man we had a laugh about that when we found out, mades us wish we had ordered wine with our meals! Speaking of food it amazing! Three course dinner, buffet lunch and a cooked breakfast everyday and we are talking serious gourmet cooking here! We also got morning coffee (with biscuits) and afternoon tea (with scones, clotted cream and jam) while we were having lectures.

The lectures we had were done in the hotel conference room and for the most part were very interesting and informative, not to mention vitally important to our final year project which I have to start doing next week! O_O Eeps!

Oh yeah! And another thing, you know hotels expect you to take a few things when you leave? Well I managed to make off with a towel and 20, that's TWENTY, pots of jam! XD I'll not have to buy any for weeks now! YUS! Students rule! Well that was basically our week, lectures, good food and sleep. There wasn't much else to do, although I did try out the pool when I got a break from work.

Now, moving onto a more serious matter that I feel quite strongly about. I do hope that people read this far and comment on what I'm about to say if you have an opinion in the area. Recently in UK parliment, the government decided to ban fox hunting from June of 2006. There were protests in the streets outside the Houses of Parliment nearly all last week, I was watching the news reports. Some demonstrators actually managed to break into the Houses of Parliment and put on a protest inside the government chamber, something that hasn't been seems since the time of Charles the first (forgive me but I don't know when that was, a long time ago I believe).

They were protesting against the ban and saying how it would drastically change their lives and such like. I have to say that I, personally, feel that these people are complete idiots with a sick and twisted mind! FOX HUNTING! The sport where you ride a horse and use a pack of dogs (called Bloodhounds) to track down a fox and chase it until it is caught by the dogs or dies in some other way. I think that is completely barbaric and anyone involved in such things have no sense of morals at all!

You're hunting down animals and, in most cases, killing them for sport! SPORT! That's no better than cock fighting, whihc I believe was banned ages ago, and other such stuff like that. OK, I accept that once upon a time in British history, foxes were a problem. They would eat the farmers chickens and eggs and as such needed to be kept in check by shooting them or hunting them with dogs. This however grew into a sport and now, even though foxes aren't really a problem anymore, they still do it! Is it's the fox's fault if the farmer forgets to close the chicken pen one night? NO! Foxes are animals and as such don't think like us, they are just looking for something to eat in order to survive in a world that we aren't making any easier for them!

I am 100% behind the ban and think that people opposing it are sick minded freaks. Who kills animals for pleasure? I don't think animals should be harmed at all, either in scientific tests or for sport. If you have any comments of your own feel free to express them here for I'd like to find out where everyone stands on this matter. I'd just like to say thank you to everyone who has given me support, encouragement or just helped me out over those 20 years. I've only known most of you for a few years now but I must say that your friendship has been priceless.

20 years.....it's still hard to believe. I'm no longer a teenager, I'm an adult now instead. It's scary but exciting at the same time. What will the next 20 years bring me? Who knows but I know that the friendships I've made in these 20 years will still be there another 20 years from now.
