And all those stone Gargoyles were brought back to life in Manhattan after being asleep for 1,000 years and Ed Asner was the old guy with one eye and a knife? And the leader of the clan was voiced by the Cat from Coraline and had the MOST INTENSE VOICE. Remember? Well, the creator, Greg Weisman, has been working overtime to keep the stories alive and teamed with Slave Labor Graphics to continue the story. They made two graphic novels (which are kinda the Best Thing Ever) and then lost the license from Disney. BOO. Hey check it out I live. I've been gone for like a few months and some change, maybe longer. Went to that oasis in Canada again, reconnected with my crazy hippy farmer sister on her badass farm (much love and kale, Sara), and quit my job. I am no longer a shambling member of the Red and Khaki Army. Now I am a shambling member of the unemployed! I've moved to Salem with my 'it's complicated' on FaceBook, ~UltraDubious. So far so good. Finally got my computer back from the shop. Had it booted up for a few hours now, with multiple apps open, and it hasn't once asked me to reformat after an improve shut-down. I take this as a good sign. So with Photoshop functioning peachy-keen, I hope to start drawing again. More to come.

It doesn't matter that some punk-ass kid pulled a fire alarm and delayed the movie by half an hour. It doesn't matter that ~UltraDubious and I drunk our weight in soda waiting to be seated. It doesn't even matter that we had nosebleed seating in the IMAX.

I WOULD DO IT ALL AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT. And I hopefully will, within the next week.

Never before have I been in a theater full of patrons so excited and yet so quiet. All throughout the movie, it was like everyone was holding their breath. A major part of my childhood was re imagined, polished up and given a new gun. And it was glorious. The story was never boring, the costumes were sexy, the new crew lived up to their namesakes glory, and a fantastic time was had by all. And at the end, when Old Spock's voice began to recite 'Space: the final frontier...' against a slow-building crescendo of music, with the entire theater silently reciting in sync, one thing was made clear:

Star Trek was back, and it was amazing.

Shambling undead-like is hard work, if you do it right. I put a lot of effort into my undead strut and I know I'm gonna regret it at work tomorrow. BUT OH WELL. I went to the Portland 4th annual Zombie Walk and Food Bank benefit and shambled for about three hours in downtown, looping from the Square to the park blocks, to China Town and back again. There were hundreds of zombies. IT WAS AWESOME. Undead of every walk of 'life', from regular sorts to cops to jesus.

There were two Jesus', actually.

There's fake blood all over the place downtown now. It's glorious. I got some shitty pics on my cell, I'm gonna post them in my scraps and on my myspace if anyone cares to look.

Recently I took a major punch to the metaphorical money-kidneys and bought a laptop, reconnecting me to Photoshop, iTunes, and the net. Joy. And while this is all well and good, I find myself greatly dissatisfied with my digital art skills. 'So quit bitching and look up Photoshop tutorials,' one might say.

I DID. HOLY MOSES ON A POGO STICK, DO YOU REALIZE HOW MANY THERE ARE OUT THERE?! The first two sites I checked out had to have at least 20 each, and that's a minimum. Anyways, as the title implies, it's my birthday tomorrow. And it's my boyfriend's birthday next week, and it was my boyfriend's ~~boyfriend's~~ best friend's birthday last week. And we all live together. And it was my other flat mate's birthday a month ago.

Anyways, I'm turning 24. A pointless age, old enough to feel unaccomplished but young enough to get yelled at for feeling old. The Nightmare Before Christmas 15th anniversary DVD is out. Are you fucking kidding me?! I saw that in theaters! :rebootedlain: and I made a refrence to Flea (of Chili Peppers fame) today and got nothing but a blank stare from our teenage co-worker. Ridiculous.

It's sad to think that I've been a subscriber since January and yet I still only have one stupid quiz and NO FUNCTIONAL JOURNAL HEADER. This is MADNESS and it must be STOPPED. Right after I weed thru the 141 messages I have piled up...

I'd like to thank everyone who's left a comment, fav'd something or added me to their DevStalk list. F'realz. I'll try and thank everyone personally, or at least respond to their comments asap. I hate letting my inbox pile sky-high, but sometimes the fact that I know they're piling up makes me wanna avoid them like the plague. Like how I used to avoid cleaning my room at my Momma's 'cause it was so goddamn filled with junk I figured I'd have to hire an excavation crew just to find the goddamn floor. (interestingly; my version of cleaning when I moved out was simply taking all of the stuff I used the most and letting my unsuspecting brother move in. That poor bastard.

) I've managed to maintain order and keep the filth demons at bay in my new residence, but only because I've learned of the danger of leading a pack-rat's lifestyle. Oh, and one of my room mates (the real-life Ellis) is a bit of an obsessive-compulsive cleaner. Picture Ellis with a shaved head and a mop, fighting off filth monsters with the Power of Bleach inbetween smoke breaks and complaining about how his little kitty Rasputin won't use the Cat Tree he just got him because he's too heavy.

Hah. Kitty's a fat-ass.

Anyways, I saw MC Chris again. Wasn't as good as the first time, but he was opening for a band that kinda sucked and he seemed pretty beat. He's coming back this summer for his own tour, and I am so gonna be there. You ever get an opportunity to see this cat, do it. MC Chris is the shit, and he loves his fans.

Saturday morning after work I was driving to Denny's to have breakfast (or dinner if you think about it) with a co-worker when I drove my poor scooter Gretchen thru a five-inch-deep pothole. I popped the front tire, ruined the wheel, and bend and/or mangled the axle and steering shaft thingy. I also pulled the muscles in my arms and chest. So, now I'm temporarily trapped at home unless I decide I'm willing to walk the mile to the bus stop. Lucky for me my step dad works at the Tigard Cycle Recycle, so I should be back on the road. Eventually.

As for my arms, I'm doing pretty good. They feel sore, but there's no bruising. I put arnica oil on it, and it seems to have helped. (For those not in the know, arnica is a hippy miracle drug for bruises, sprains and all manner of external discomfort. [link] Rock.)

Also, as if she somehow knew I needed cheering up, the ever-so-amazing *froggymcgee gifted me a subscription.

To all those working in retail: You have my sympathies and understanding. Target decided to make me work the salesfloor again (sun? what's that?) right as the most terrifying part of the year begins. The day after Thanksgiving is what nightmares are made of. Whatever committee decided it was a good idea to have every fucking store in existence have a sale then should be loaded into a cannon and fired into the sun. It doesn't help that the PS3 and Nintendo Wii are coming out soon. I swear to fucking god if they make me work Electronics that day I'm calling in dead. Or getting a kevlar vest and a bean bag gun. Whichever is easier.

My brother finally got his food handler's card in an effort to get a minnimum wage job that he can complain about. Once he got it he printed out his copy of it and left it on the table. What I find amusing is that on the top, right above where it says 'Oregon,' it should say Multnomah County. That's where we live. Makes sense, right? Instead there's some logo I don't recognise and the words 'Marion County.'

I hate being sick. It makes me loose my tolerance for my painfully slow and unreliable internet conncection, which makes me not want to visit DA. I loves me my DA. So, now that I'm finally emerging from the flu fog I was living in for nigh on two and a half weeks, what do I find? Upwards of 200 new deviations, 50 messages, and a couple of notes. And that's just on-line. My poor room. My poor, cozy, messier then hell room. I think at this point the only way I'm going to find where the floor actually is (I swear there's one under all that junk) is to hire an excavation crew. Not that it was clean before I got sick, it's just messier now. Sort of.

1) I saw Dead Man's Chest opening night. It was insane, we Fandango'ed tickets a week ahead of time and we still had to wait in line. (we got there at 8 PM, a friend had been saving out space since 6). People were dressed like pirates, and the groups ahead and behind us both had portable DVD players with the original PotC playing on them. It was like a goddamn concert. When the previews, the previews, not even the actual movie, started, people cheered. Opening nights are arewsome.

2) A few weeks ago one of our roomates came home and asked if anyone knew why there were 12 cop cars parked outside. We assumed she was exaggerating, but no, there were 12 motherfucking cop cars parked outside of the apartment. In the next few hours we watched our own personal live episode of COPS unfold. By 11PM there were over 25 cop cars, 30+ cops, 2 ambulances, 2 fire trucks, 3 armored vehicles, 3 SWAT vans, 2 canine units and men in full camo with sniper rifles. Turns out there are two crazy guys that live down the street who are brothers and hate eachother. Their dad used to keep them apart, but then he died and left them with a house full of weapons. The cops appearantly came and took all of the weapons away the night befoer, but I guess they mised one because one of the crazy's started shooting at the other. In the end, nothing happened and one of the brothers was taken into custody. Kind of anti-climactic, but entertaining none the less.

3) I finally saw Ima Robot in concert.

Rawk.

4) Dave and Vyacheslav has been updated! Hoo-hah.

5) I hate the sun. It's too damn hot out. I live in Oregon! It's not supposed to be this hot! Fuck!

...Has anyone else ever notice that Ren and Stimpy are kind of like a really disfunctional gay couple?

Anyways, so I went and saw Nine Inch Nails, Bauhaus, and some opening band a few weeks ago at an outdoor venue. It rained for two weeks solid prior (after a month of sunshine, of course) so I assumed we were going to be in a giant mud pit the whole time. I didn't realize our tickets were for general admission in a sheltered area; good news, because we didn't get soaked; bad news because there were seats. By the end of the night I had a bruise on one knee from repeatedly hitting it on the cup holder in front of me. The opening band was pretty cool, the bassist looked like a black Jerry Garcia. Bauhaus was cool, I wish I'd had a chance to listen to their music ahead of time. My only real complaint was that they had access to an amazing stage setup and all they used were three sets of painfully bright lights that burned your eyes to look at.

And finally, Ninch Inch Nails. GOOD GOD. They give you your fucking money's worth. As soon as they got on stage the amphitheater EXPLODED. They have an AMAZING stage show. They had smoke machines, all sorts of lights, panels behind the stage that played static, patterns, and images... and these giant metal grates that were lowered from the ceiling that stood between the band and the audience that had images projected on them. Also, I think the guitarist was a ninja. Out of the entire set they played, I didn't recognise three (two new ones and a cover), so I spent almost the whole set screaming along. I have a newfound respect for my vocal cords. They're tougher then I thought.

I can't wait to see Ima Robot on the 28th.

1) I'm pretty flexible. ('Double jointed?') Like, I can bend and twist in weird ways, and drag my leg behind me so it looks broken. I hope to exploit that someday to be an extra in a Zombie Movie. I can also pick things up with my toes. And tie knots. And write.

2) I don't like small rodents. The tinier and fluffier they are, the less I trust them. Hampsters are balls of teeth and hatred. THEY ARE MINIONS OF EVIL.

3) Up untill about the third year of high school, I couldn't say the word 'lily.' It always came out 'littl-y.' I shit you not. Andre and O'sheen still tease me about it.

4) My dad used to take me fishing all the time. I've caught, killed, gutted and cooked my own fish before. I've eaten all manners of aquatic life, and my Mom's family are coastal indians. You could say that seafood is part of my genetics.

5) I can listen to almost any genre of music, the one exception being modern country. Listening to it makes me wanna gargle Drain-O.

6) My personal heros tend to either be crazy old men or fictional characters... who most of the time are also crazy men. To top it off, my favorite person, my partner in crime, ~ConceptualArtGangsta seems to be convinced he is in fact a decrepit old man in disguise. In reality, he's just a bitch-ass nigga that needs to come home.

Before I knew what was happening we were all running into the park where a small crowd gathered around the guy on the ground. A lady (a nurse, I think) was putting pressure on his shoulder and about four people were on cells calling for help. The cops got there in about seven minutes (accompanied by a news crew), the ambulace shortly after. Most of the best witnesses ran off at that point ("I ain't talkin' to the goddamn po-lice"). I stuck around out of concern for the victim, and, to be honest, morbid curiosity. I've never seen a shooting before, or a stabbing. I've seen people get into fights, but nothing too violent. I know that's a good thing, but it's like trying not to stare at a car crash on the road. You just can't.

Anyways, I had to stick around to give a statement to the cops (even tho I didn't see anything) and got interviewed by channel 8. I tried to catch the program that night to see if the guy died, but I guess I missed it. I heard he's okay. Today at work my boss told me she saw me on TV. It's kinda funny, I wonder if my dad saw. I haven't seen him in about six, seven years, haven't talked to him either. Last time he saw me I was in the tenth grade, and now, here I am, green hair, peircings, dressed like 'a druggie street urchin' (by his standards,) and being interviewed as a witness to a shooting in the city. Which he despises, by the way.

So, lately I've been trying to save up money for a few things. The first and most important, I guess, would be moving out.

Yeah, I live at home, in a small three bedroom house with five people, two dogs, three cats, a fish tank and dial-up that's slower then a special olympics spelling bee. I also live in St. Johns, which is at least a 40 minute bus ride away from everywhere I wanna be. This means a lot of waiting at the bus or forcing my poor patient boyfriend into a life of indentured chauffeur-itude. That's a word. Shut up. It also might be wise in the future to aqquire a form of transportation and a cell phone, as I seem to be impossible to get ahold of.

That being my 'needs,' let's move on to my 'wants' (which ironiclly, I rank with higher importance then my 'needs'). I desire a tablet. YE GODS I WANT ONE. A nice, shiny, pressure sensitive block of sexy. UNNN. It would make coloring sooo much easier. And funner. And it would allow me to get more creative with my coloring and inking... I also want a scanner. Not necessarily a fancy one, nay, since most of my work is colored in Photoshop I would only really need a basic one with good resolution. I currently have one, but ever since it was knocked off the computer table (I like to call it 'the impromptu flying lesson') it refuses to scan anything other then line art. This is a huge pain in the ass when trying to colaborate with someone, since it forces me to ink all of my sketches. >.< I went to Comp USA before work the other day to see what the financial damage would be if I bought both, and it rounds out to about $300. *sigh*

I should sell one of my brothers' kidneys. I'm sure he won't miss it.

I should have never downloaded Radiohead and The Eels to my iPod. It always makes me think about ~ConceptualArtGangsta. It doesn't help that we sell the four dollar champagne he's named after at work.

I miss you, you bastard.

Ugg. I have having to work when I feel sick. I woke up last night with cramps so bad that I couldn't fall asleep again till I hunted down some painkillers. To add to that to that all day I've felt dizzy, weak, sore, bloated, and cramp-filled and yet still had to be perky, active and helpful because CUSTOMER SERVICE IS OUR NUMBER ONE GOAL. Blarg. I die.

On the bright side, the day itself wasn't that bad. I found my iPod charger and was finally able to juice up my precious PodPod. JOY. Work was slow, I got my break, ate food-stuffs, finally began to feel half-human and chugged a Monster Berry Energy drink. If you've never had one of those, they're fuckin' nasty. It's like drinking carbonated cough syrup. But honestly, with a name like Monster one can assume that it's target audience isn't drinking it for the taste. It's like the justification behind consuming cheap beer. 'Here, drink this. Taste's like shit but it'll FUCK YOU UP.'

Here is short list of things I need to get off my ass and do:
1) Complete the guest comic for Dave [link] that he gave me the script for forever and a half ago.
2) Clean my goddamn room. There's a floor under all that crap. I swears.
3) Bring CD's over to my boy's house to upload on my PodPod.
4) Aquire books on pirates and ninjas. And comics. Lots of comics.

5) Draw more random Rum and Sushi crap.
6) Make *froggymcgee a new pair of mittens and mail them, since the last ones went AWOL.
7) Find out ~ConceptualArtGangsta's day off so I can call his ass up. I miss him.

8) Sew more.
9) Stop making long lists that I'll never complete.

1) Design the logo for Ninja GuyDan, the drift group my boyfriend and his secret gay lover- I mean, um, his best friend, formed.

As to the naming of the pirate ship, I think that it'll have one 'official' name (for AAR buisness and paper work) and a name the pirates call it. I'm rather fond of L'estremità (les-strem-ee-TAH): Italian, "The Business End."

Now on to important things: Last week at a friend's I saw Gus Van Sant's Last Days. If you haven't heard of it, it's a movie inspired by the last few days of Kurt Cobain's life. Sounds like it might be interesting? How mistaken you are.

I'd already sat thru Van Sant's Elephant a year ago. This was not only fimed in my city, but I knew several of the extras (including the two punks that get their picture taken in the school field). I don't drink, but every now and then I run into something that makes me wish I did. This is one of them.

This movie was excruciating. That's the only word for it. Trying to thread a needle with my toung would have been more interesting. So, based on this, I wasn't looking foreward to Last Days. But nooooo, everyone said they'd heard good things about it, so being the team-player that I am I sat myself down to give it a chance. After about fifteen minutes I was fantasizing about hunting Gus down and punching him in the gut. It was just as bad as I thought it would be, and worse. It didn't even have any good Nirvana-esq music to help ease the pain.

The stupid thing is that even tho we all hated the movie we couldn't turn it off. At first it was like we were waiting for it to get good, like maybe it was just a slow build-up and suddenly the secret hidden interesting plot would pop up. About two-thirds of the way thru our reasoning changed from 'maybe it wont suck' to 'if we stop now we'll be quitters.' So we watched it. The whole, nauseatingly drawn out thing.

Not to turn any of you off of Gus Van Sant. I've heard he's done some good things, I've just never seen them. And who knows? Maybe you happen to like painfully drawn out scenes of say, someone eating cereal or walking down a hallway from a fixed camera angle.

And how am I supposed to take this love song seriously when I've seen him drink his own pee wearing nothing but fishets and boxer briefs on stage?

What happened was that someone did, but since I lost it right before christmas the store was full of seasonal (read: new) employees who didn't know what they were doing, and thus my found wallet was never logged in the Lost and Found book. Fuckers.

But, BUT, I GOT IT BACK!1!!one

Luvly, luvly wallet. My book of bus tickets and SS card are still in it. This restores a bit of my faith in humanity. Just a wee bit. However, I would have like to know that they had if before I went thru the pain of getting a new bank account and ID. I look like I escaped from a Methadone Clinic on my drivers licence. Also, for some reason I have a class C endorsement on it. Evedently I'm authorized to operate emergency firefighting vehicles. Seriously.

So anyways, a bit of work-related news that probably no one wants to hear: My two favorite managers transfered to day shift (and one's quitting anyways). My other manager which I didn't mind ('cept for the fact that he sometimes gave me the creeps) got fired for multiple counts of sexual harasment. A manager got transfered from dayside to replace him and 'whip us into shape.' He's one of those managers with a deceptivly calming voice and smile, so I immediatly didn't trust him. I know the type, I've worked with them before. Anyways, after working with him for a few days I have to give him some props for getting the store immaculatly clean and having us finish the day three hours early. He's doing a good job in a mechanical, souless, slave-driver sort of way. And although I no longer maintain the thought that he sleeps in a coffin in the boiler room and drinks the blood of employees, I'm still relativly sure that he eats babies. And souls and crushed hopes and dreams. They're like candy to him.

I hope he chokes on a fat baby's head.

It was also glazed over and all goey. >.< Awesome. My boy washed out a shot glass for me to put the offending contact in and I've been letting my eye recover ever since.

Okay, so not the best way to start off the day, but things improved. When I got online :devfroggimcgee: showed me a picture in her scraps of a zombie pirate ninja. Fuckin' awesome. And when my boy's best friend came over to... do something involving cars... he managed to stop off at another friends to pick up my boy's tool box and my vest!! The one I'm wearing in my two new ID pics... I accidentally left it at someone's apartment during a party a few months ago and I miiiiissed it! And now I got it back and they even washed it!

I'm never taking this thing off again. I'll shower in it.

Also, my boy drove me to the goddamn bank (that I've been none too pleased with as of late) to deposite a cheque and widthdraw some cash. I'd normally do this thru an ATM but my stupid bank card hasn't come in the mail yet. This is particulary annoying for two reasons. One, because of working graveyard it's hard for me to get to a bank while it's open, and two, I orderd a new bank card over three weeks ago. On top of that, when I got my new bank acount over the phone (standard shut down/funds transfer when one's wallet is stolen) I told the lady on the other end that I do not need a cheque book as long as I had my cheque card. I don't use cheques. I told her this at least three times. And yet, lo and behold, five days later I get a stack of cheque books in the mail and a $17 fee widthdrawn from my acount. Thankfully the patient tellers at the bank (the same two I'd been pestering about this twice now) fixed the whole situation. They ordered a new card (which should come in about five days), canceled my old cheque card (which for some reason was active even tho I never got it O.o ) and refunded me the $17. Tralala.

Wait, is cheque even spelled that way? O.o Or is it spelled check? XD Must be my filthy Canadian roots showing...

I was also planning to get my lip peirced today, but my poor chaufer- er, boyfriend, was feeling ill and wanted to stop driving so I had him give me a ride home instead. He's so cute when he's sicky.

I guess I'll get peirced later.
