Well, we moved to Florida okay, and we're pretty much all set up save for one thing: Internet. The cable company can't hook us up for several weeks, due to the lack of a Tap outside. As such, I'm forced to go to the library a couple times a week.

This just means there will be no art updates from me for a while. Of course, I update so sporadically, you probably won't notice.

As soon as I'm back online, I'm gonna start up a commission fund-raiser. My hubby needs his own computer, so I'm gonna go on a commission craze to try and raise the funds for it. So if you've wanted a commission from me, now will be the time to do it!!

So until then, here's hoping I get internet sooner rather then later.

The weekly incentives that I was doing earlier in the year fell through, because I don't think people had enough time to work on them. So I'm turning around and doing two incentives for October. Work on either one, or on both!! Let's all start spamming the MM fandom once more!!

Incentive #1: It's October, the month of scares and candy! Draw your favorite Mega Man characters enjoying the falling leaves, the decorations, and the celebration that is October!

Incentive #2: This time of year is a good time for reflection. As such, let's look at the Mega Man fandom back in it's earlier form. What's missing from it? Why, all those annoying Mary-Su's that we both loved and hated at the same time! Back when the Mega Man storyline had almost nothing to it plot wise, we turned around and filled in the blanks. So here's your chance to re-live that!! Draw or Write your Mary-Su (you KNOW you have one) doing what it does best!

And that's it!! I wanna see you post LOTS of artwork! Put up links here! I know I'm gonna be working on both!

Since the question has come up, I will indeed be attending Otakon this year. However, I will NOT have an Artist Alley table. I was put on the wait-list, and during the time it took them to get back to me that they did indeed have tables, I decided to just enjoy the con. If you see a woman dressed in a black pirate outfit with a white fringed skirt, that's me! Come say hello.

I will have artwork up in the Art Show this year, in order to try and pay off the hotel and reg costs and all. Any extra will go towards the "my husband is leaving for 3 months to serve his country and I need all the help I can get" fund. Before you think I'm destitute, allow me to assure you I'll be okay. But every little extra bit helps.

The pieces going for sale are my 4 elemental fairies (the recent ones), Drunken Sailor Moon poster, Sailor Brittney Moon poster, and new to the gallery, a print of Aerith, a print of Tifa, and hopefully a print from Mega Man 2. There'll also be mystery piece put up with the group. So just look for the pinkness wrongness, and buy buy buy!!

Thanks in advance!

I'll be stuck there all weekend, selling my half-naked art.

A small update on my life: I met a girl at Anime Punch who draws very pretty men. It made me want to try my hand at it as well. So for all you sweaty-palmed, 13-year-old boys who watch my artwork, prepare to cry. I'm studying and drawing, and slowly getting better! Soon, there will be half-naked MEN in my 'recently added' folder. MWAHAHAHAHAHAAAA! But don't worry, I'll still draw girls too.

In other OTHER news, I haven't eaten lunch yet.
Commission Updatedness.
Since Youmacon is around the corner and I don't want to get too distracted, I thought it might be a good time to post a few reminders. So here's an update on how commissions are going!

-Nemisis - Nemisis - inked and scanned
-Artytoons - Beach Kids - inked and scanned
-Vallie - 3 Sketches - 2 completed
-Anibunny - Phen - based colored and some shading

Woot! I'm actually making progress! Anyways, as it stands I'm going to Youmacon with nothing done. I'm taking all the same artwork I took to Otakon, which makes me sad. I pride myself on getting new stickers and occasionally new prints to each con. Ah well. It's been busy.

Tomorrow, I need to get laundry done before the parents show up, vacuum the downstairs, dust, cook meatloaf for dinner (and go to the grocery to get supplies), plus get further along on all the commissions. I wanna get the base coloring done for all of them before I go back to work on Thursday.

Speaking of work, I put in my two-weeks notice. Okay, so it's more like month and a half notice. I'm leaving in December. Since Joe is getting paid well by the military, I've decided to give professional con-going a try. If by Acen I haven't seen good results, I'll most likely go back and start up massage again part-time. But I really wanna be able to focus on my artwork and my writing. So here's hoping everything works out!!

Alrighty!! All of you who've been waiting to get a commission from me, wait no longer! I'm opening my commissions for a time, since I don't have any conventions coming up until November. So I've got 5 spots open, and the first ones to pay are the ones who get a spot. Right now I'm only taking paypal, to help speed things along. I'll send my paypal info your way once I've accepted your commission (it's not the same paypal as before, so if you've ordered before, don't send it to hunters_hideout. I won't get it).

If you want to commission me, send me an e-mail or a note through deviantart.

Anyways, here's the link to my commission info: [link]

Thanks in advance!!

Spot 1: Nemisis
Spot 2: Artytoons
Spot 3: Vallie
Spot 4: Anibunny
Spot 5: Empty!

So I'm attending Tekko 2008 in Pittsburgh. We just got done with Friday, selling in Artist Alley. I had sold last year, when they were in the expo center, and everything was great. It ran smoothly, he tables were in a GREAT area, and all was well.

Apperantly, the expo center let them know at the last moment that there were renovations being done at the time they were holding Tekko 2008, so they had to move the con. But no big deal right? They expect a great turn-out. And all in all, the Radisson Hotel, while smaller and more cramped, was efficient enough. Or at least it should have been.

Artist Alley was split up between two rather small rooms. When we arrived at 8:30am this morning to begin set-up, the room was crammed to the walls with tables in rows. Basicly, there was a single open line to the right for people to walk from the front to the back, and about 5 lines ne-person wide for people to walk down to reach the tables.

BAD set-up.

So we asked forthe alley head to fix the layout. We offered several solutions. She was nice (I'll admit, I was kinda peeved at first, because they made it seem they were NOT gonna change it and we'd have to live with it. Had we, I would have not sold and demanded a refund, I'll be honest). So they set about fixing the problem and re-arranging it into a circle. Tables on the outside, with an island of tables in the middle, and a single (still slightly cramped but efficiant) space for people to walk around. They busted their asses getting it all moved around for us. And in the end, all was well. We were only set back about a hour hour, but the alley wasn't open to the public for another hour anyways. So we set up.

The morning went smoothly. Slow at first, but business built quick. We were to be open until 8pm that night, which was early to close, but within reason. However, we read that the Alley would only be open until 6pm on Saturday. This alarmed alot of people. Saturday is big busy business day, and once the Dealer's Room closes, all those people with money go to the Alley! So naturally, we protested this early closing time. How did we protest?

We passed around a petition requesting that the hours be changed. Let us stay open until 10! We were not loud or mean or demanding. It was a request. If we close that early, at least give us a reason. Well, pretty much everyone signed it with their name and studio name. And after an hour or so, some of the staff went around and told us we were not only going to be open until 10 tomarrow, but we'd be allowed to sell until 9 tonight! Bonus~ We were all very happy.

So it rolls around to 8:30. Since the Dealer's Room closed at 7pm, all the business is where we are at. I was making so much money. Suddenly, through the doors comes a gentleman, and he yells for attention. We fall silent and listen. He asked all non-alley people to please leave the room for about 5 minutes. He needed to discuss something with us Artists. We were all wondering what it could be. So the customers leave, and he closes the doors. This guy introduces himself, saying he's in charge of both Artist Alley and the Dealer's Room. The lady under him who was in charge of Artist Alley was super nice and sweet and willing to work with us.

This prick proceeds to yell at us and threaten us. Apperantly we were not ALLOWED to form a petition to have the alley times changed. We were not ALLOWED to petition. He went on and on about how we were breaking the rules, and he could kick every one of us out without a refund. He belittled us, once refering to us as "little children" (("You'd better all be good little children" I believe was the demeaning statement he used). He said we were to "appologize to Lidnsey" (the Artist Alley head, who looked ashamed of his behavior) and thank her for everythng she did for us. He then went on to say that while they didn't have enough staff to keep us open that late, they were allowing us to remain open until 10pm on Saturday. He then went on to tell us what hours he would be in the dealer's room. He invited us (in condensending and VERY threatening tones) to come bring him "any complaints or problems. Please".

This prick was looking for a fight. I was shaking with rage, and managed to stay quiet. But I wanted to break his jaw for the way he spoke to us. Then he opened the doors back up, so we could sell for the last 20 minutes we were to be open that night. HE COULDN'T EVEN WAIT UNTIL WE'D CLOSED TO SAY ALL THIS. But I was too angry to sell anymore. I packed up, all the time wanting to vomit with disgust. If it hadn't been for wanting to spend time with my friends who I rarely get to see, I would have walked out and never come back.

It wasn't until later both me and my friend regretted not grabbing out cameras and recording the whole speech. It would have been on youtube had we thought to do so.

So we decided to get rev...

I was amazed to notice almost all my recent artwork was either comic-related or black & white. I feel bad, since I never color anymore. I used to churn out so much art. But now there's so much else to get done! Argh! I wanna go pro with my comics some day, though I know I've got a long way to go.

Well, I've finally uploaded all the pages of the comic that I currently have done. Unfortunately, my scanner came down with a bad case of dead (mostly cuz I punched the crap out it) so there wont be anymore pages for awhile. Hopefully after this convention this weekend, I'll have enough left over to get myself a new one.

For those who're wondering WHY I chose now to destroy my printer, allow me to tell you. I bought that piece of crap about a year after I had bought my old computer (so around 2002). Since then, I've had nothing but hell from it. Once it was installed initially, it worked fine. But then my computer crashed and it had to be re-installed. And that's where all hell breaks loose. Normally, all you need to do is put in the install disk (which I still had) and it would be fine. But there were always new problems with the software and the hardware. And this wasn't the last time it had been installed. I've had to re-install it like 6 or 8 times since I first bought it, and with each reinstall, it got worse. So, my old computer finally joined the great junk heap in the sky (farewell Bastard, you will be missed). So I got a new one, and everything was fine. My printer re-installed nicely. All my old programs went on nicely. Last, was the scanner.

And nothing on the face of this earth would make it work.

After wasting an entire day fiddling with it and downloading ever driver and TWAIN device possible, I finally had had it. In a fit of rage, I brought my fist down onto the top of it, shattering the glass and destroying it. Immediately I felt as though an evil spirit had left and I was clensed. I've never been happier to destroy something in my whole life. It's been a few weeks, and though I regret not being able to update, I do NOT miss that damned thing.

So now I need to get a new scanner. it will NOT be another Canoscan though! I will open a vein before I buy another one. So thus ends our tale. Those who want more updates are more then welcome to donate to the "Get Kim a New Scanner Fund". There's a short Mole Mini-Comic in it for everyone who donates more then $5, so be generous!!

I've recieved alot of positive thoughts on the comic itself, and I'm happy with it. But I have even bigger news for it!

Gensen figures contacted me over a month ago. They wanted to make a Maq figure. I jumped at the chance. Earlier today, I got the first photos of the figure. She looks awesome! It's Maq in the (kinda) flesh! So I've decided to go ahead and order a couple and make them a con-exclusive doll! Unless of course they don't sell well, in which case, I'll sell them elsewhere.

Anyways, hope y'all enjoy the comic!

As for what's going on, I'm a little depressed due to missing Acen this weekend. I wanted to attend, but my boyfriend's brother got married this same weekend. Then we all had to work on Mother's Day at Red Lobster, so we got our butts kicked. Oddly enough, I still got to go home around 8:30ish. That's good!

Well, after having been open for over a whole year, I only just now discovered that those people who used Internet Exwhorer couldn't see most parts of my Studio page (mhho-studios.com). I've fixed the problem, but the damage is way past done. Barely anyone looks at the webpage. I'm lucky to get around 200 hits in an entire week, when I used to get 200 a day. This is a major let-down for me. I spent all day yesterday fixing the problem, having to completely change the page layout so IE could be used. I don't even want to think what it looks like on Netscape.

I had this problem with MHHO.com recently. I thought it'd be nice to throw in a background image, so I put it into the CSS coding. Firefox was fine with it. IE wasn't. When someone tried to load my page, all they got was the background image! It's infuriating. So I did away with the background.

Now everything is fixed, but this doesn't make it anymore breaking to know that for 14 months or so, alot of people havn't been able to view my studio. I'm gonna have to start from square one again.

I think I'll go eat a cookie....

Anyways, if you don't see your commission idea here, then it's a fair indication that either I've missed your commission, or I simply forgot it. So please make SURE to get in touch with me, by leaving a message in this journal or PMing. With all the things that have been going on lately, it'd be very easy for me to have lost your commission somewhere in the mix.

This is a call for commissions. I'm currently very VERY broke, and am looking to earn a little bit of money, so I've decided to open up commissiobns, though I normally have those closed from October to January. So if you've been wanting to commission me, or like what you see here, please feel free to either send me a PM, or go to my site and order through there.

[link]

I also wanted to say that I do prints of all the artwork you see here. Some of them are available in 8.5 x 11 sizes, but ALL of them are available in 4 x 6. I call these mini prints, and they're only $3 each. A ful sized print (8.5 x 11) is $5. Shipping and the like is only an additional $2.

Cimmission prices are listed on the page above, or you can PM for prices. My most popular kind of commission, full colored computer style (CG style for short) is $20. And for that, you get a picture with the same quality as the ones already posted here. I take commissions very seriously.

Anyways, help support your fellow starving artist! You patronage is appreciated!

It's been awhile, eh? Lately I've been accused of 'abandoning' my Deviant page, and that's just not true. I check it everyday. Deviant is giving me problems when I try to upload pictures, and has been for quite awhile now. As such, I havn't tried lately. However, seeing as people are still checking and want to see more recent stuff, I shall once again endevor to try and upload again. Also, someone (coughBrandicough) suggested I try for a Deviant Print account. I'm not so sure about this. I've tried selling prints through my webpage, and it's been a bust. While I know many of you would encourage me to do so, how many of you would be willing to buy actual prints of these pictures? Please be honest. If there's enough demand, I'll probably go for it. After all, I like seeing people happy with my stuff.

I'll still be selling limited signed prints at conventions and the like. That's right, limited. I'm no longer doing mass-printing. I'm prolly going to print off about 20 of each print, then sell those until they're gone, at the cons and from home. Once they're gone. They're gone for good. I'm tempted to limit some of my more popular ones to about 5 or 6 prints, just so those who buy them can at least get some value out of them ( though I can't see how much they'd get; it's just fanart). Prints like the Drunken Sailor Moon, hands-down my most popular piece, have been highly coveted, and so far, I've only sold a few older versions. I'm just rattleing off ideas. If people say it's a stupid idea though, I'll probably toss it.

As it is, would anyone like for me to visit a con in their area? I'm looking for more places to sell. I live in Ohio though, so please try to keep it limited to places I can drive to within a reasonable amount of time. I go to Otakon every year, and that's an 8 hour drive. That's about as far as I wanna go. But if the con is large enough, and seems popular enough, I might consider traveling further. I'm hoping to make a semi-living off of these things.

I've also given some thoughts to selling tee-shirts, but not featuring artwork. I'm gonna try and sell my own personal stuff, and I was curious if anyone would be willing to buy a souped-up Maq shirt or something similar. Ideas? Suggestions. Feel free to screech. I'd love to hear from ya~!

*coughs* Anyways, hello and welcome to my little artsy area! I am Maq, better known on the Net as Maqqy96. Most of my art is Mega Man (Rockman) related, though you'll find a few other odds n' ends thrown in here and there to keep things interesting.

This gallery isn't where I post everything, however. My Deviant-Art gallery is going to be used to house all my personal favorites for the world to enjoy. That being said, if you wish to see more art, visit my webpage. Otherwise, browse around and enjoy yourselves!
