Hi all

I'm working - very slowly- on a painting for the nursery of my friend's baby who is due to be born next month. It's a canvas, 40 cm by 100 cm, and I'm working in acrylic and emulsion. It's a scene of seven teddy bears relaxing in the nursery in front of a sunny window.

I'm going completely against accepted practice and painting the foreground figures before the background, but I think it'll work well for me in this case. The final painting will appear in full when it's done, but for now I'm posting the various stages of its development in my scraps section. Comments welcome.

Thanks

Mark

I have been terribly lazy in recent months, but this commission got me painting again. It's a traditional watercolour painting. Your comments always appreciated.

Hopefully more art to follow!

Thanks for stopping by.

Mark

I have not had much chance to produce any artwork lately- I have started my "Wicked" painting, but it's a long way from finished. I just keep getting sidetracked with theatre trips, weekends away reading Harry Potter!

Hi All

Just posted the latest drawing- called "Dog Tired". Hope you like it!

I am planning on a comic-book related painting next- probably Batman.

I went to see two shows in the West End this weekend- Evita (which is closing soon) and Wicked. Both were stunning. I have seen Wicked four times now (thanks to a combination of cheap and free tickets through various friends). Three times I saw with Idina Manzel as Elphaba (including her final performance in December) and last night I saw Shona White, who was standing in for Kerry Ellis. I have to say Shona was amazing, and I really believed in her as Elphaba every bit as much as Idina. The show never loses that pure spectacular, tingles down the spine feeling, and I am determined to do a painting to capture the drama and magic of the show.....watch this space!

I also purchased some nice new sketchbooks in the hopes of encouraging myself to draw more...

That's it for now- thanks for visiting!

Hi

I uploaded an old watercolour painting yesterday so that there was something "new" to look at on here. Thanks for the comments so far!

I have planned out a Batman painting, but that's now on hold as I've just been commissioned to produce a black and whire drawing of someone's dog. I'll be working on that over the next week, and will post it here before getting on with Mr Wayne's alter-ego.

Cheers

Hi everyone

I have just uploaded my latest work- a portrait of three children commissioned by a lady in my office. It's her three grandchildren, Megan, Cameron and Jack.

The photo is a bit dark, but I hope you can see it ok. I've added three close-ups also.

Next up, once I've finished writing a short story for a competition, will be a comic strip I think!

Cheers
