A number of people have sent me messages asking when I'd be posting the rest of the instructions for the Ebon Hawk. I will first assure you all that I am slowly getting there but I have been 'held back' a bit as I got a rather wonderful job back in mid-January.

It's pretty much taken over my life as I've tonnes to learn and I'm organising a PhD at the moment too. I've set aside a bit of time in the coming weeks and I'm aiming to get the instructions posted for easter. So please bear with me for a little while and, if you haven't already, you can favourite or watch my account and it'll most likely be the very next thing I upload.

Thank you all for your messages, I really appreciate the feedback and I'm very humbled that so many people were interested in the model. If any of you have images of your WIP's I'd love to see how you're getting on.

Apologies to those who are wondering 'why did he upload it again?!'.

This version is higher resolution at the expense of 3x the download size (up from 4MB to a little over 12MB). I also fixed a few labelling issues and put in a bit of legalese. The model was created and is distributed assuming fair-use (i.e. no profit is, or shall be, made from it). I thought it would be prudent to insert this.

Anyhow, for those that have already started building; there's nothing earth-shatteringly different about the new version so you've not been working in vain.

Enjoy and please feel free to share with friends as you see fit. I would ask that you point them here so that they can be made aware of updates to the model and instructions as they are released.

Lots of people have downloaded the model but the same number have not downloaded the instructions...

A few people had asked me if I could describe the process of making a Black Knight helmet, you can find a step-by-step guide in my gallery now.

It is not really the kind of thing that would make for a 'template' or plan as every head is a different shape and size. As always I'm happy to answer any questions on any aspect of the process that is unclear.

I am pretty blown away at the rate and number of downloads of the Ebon Hawk model, in three days it has been downloaded 300 times. The only down-side to this is the lack of comments or feedback which I would very much appreciate (even if it is just a thank you). Positive criticism of any short-comings in the template is also welcomed.

Rest assured that I am working away on the instructions, I took over 200 photos whilst doing the prototype build and fixed a few issues with the model along the way so there is a fair amount to write up and check.

For those of you who print in letter format: Scaling will only reduce the model's size to about 94% of the original size so it'll not be too much smaller.
