A few years back, I used to play RuneScape. I'd get an hour of time a day (stupid household with people who thought I needed excercize; we've since moved and good riddance to them) and I'd spend it gathering iron at the mining pit near the port, before walking back to Lumbridge and smelting the lot, then banking it at the town across from the forest.

I quit after a month.

A year or two after that, I joined Furcadia full of joy and optimism, and left two years later with a grimace on my face and a middle finger pointed to the rest of the world-don't let that game's saccharine exterior fool you, it's not a pleasant place unless you've got a bunch of friends at your back-friends I never managed to keep.

Anyway. During Furcadia, I also picked up an interesting little Korean MMO called WonderLand Online, that I abandoned when my previous laptop died. It was an interesting note, overall-a game that I actually, legitimately enjoyed, made friends on, and played with regularity (even if the chugging of my poor ThinkPad 600e required I put a bag of ice under it to keep my leg from barbequeing).
In short, it was an MMO I liked, and would probably have kept playing if not for the tragedy of my laptop's death. Rest in peace, Mordenkainen; you were loved, and are missed.

Now, I have a high tolerance for irritating in the prescence of fun or cool-my love of SLAI is testament to this; despite screaming fury and ragequit whenever beaten, I inevitably return to it like a determined lover. It's simply that good-c'mon folks, giant fighty robots!

Puzzle Pirates...is not.

I spent maybe two hours of my life on that game, two hours I will NOT be getting back. In those two hours, I made enough gold to get a sixtieth of a hat, lost in three horribly broken minigames, and-

...I'd like to say that was cathartic, but I'm still vaguely angry, and I haven't a clue how I'm going to get rid of it. It's 3:40 and I'm bored out of my mind, and SOMEHOW that.../insult/ to my computer is taking ten times the time to uninstall as it took to slither greasily onto my hard drive. The only reason I'm *merely* uninstalling it is because there is no "beat brutally before ejecting with a torrent of screaming profanity" option in Windows. Maybe there's one in Linux. I don't know, nor do I particularly care.

...not like I ever come back on here anyway...

Two years ago, now, I joined Furcadia. And it was glorious. Surrounded by friends and new things and fascinating changes, some light in my deathly dull world, and I stayed. I fell in love with a beautiful woman who I would eventually realize...didn't really care about me.

And the pattern was set for the next two years.

Breakup after breakup, abandoning friend after friend, falling in with bad crowds over and over, losing the innate cheerfulness that used to be mine.

My god, I look back at how happy I used to be. I was...carefree. A free spirit. I didn't care what anyone said, I didn't hate or envy or resent...I enjoyed artists for their art and didn't care that they never replied.

Somewhere in those two years, that changed. Somewhere, I became a Channer, even if I'm a member of one of the good boards. I sit and hate and cling to my hate because it keeps me alive, from finding the gun or the rope or the knife, for the pills perhaps to end myself in the manner of Monroe and so many others.

I swore to myself that if I died, I'd go out killing someone I hated.

Now...now, I realize, I could probably never go through with it. I'd be too down-crushing myself under my own despair. I could never raise the gun, whet the knife, much less the grandiose fantasies of hijacking an entire hotel to kill one talentless, worthless author.

Without the hate, two things keep me going-Girl Genius, and Zero Punctuation. The Foglios are entertaining enough that I can ignore the fact that I've never gotten a response from them, and Yahtzee Croshaw is funny enough that I can ignore the fact he hates his fanbase.

Andrew Dickman can no longer subside off the fact that I once loved Mary Ann Tigress.

Sigurdhosenfield can no longer subside off the fact that Princess Peach is hot.

bleedman can no longer...why did I even start reading his comics in the first place? They're bad fanfic with good illustrations.

So...here it is. My soul bared to the world, to whoever comes across my page and bothers to read it all the way through, begging for a torrent of "lol u suk" and "cheer up, emo kid."

But I am not fucking emo. I am legitimately depressed, if not clinically. I am not some worthless prick in expensive jeans and black hair dye who listens to My Chemical Romance.

I am a very sad kid...man...who normally loves electronica and gaming, and who just so happens to be a furry.

Times are hard, and I have no one to love.

:sigh: I'mma miss it.

I played a couple of campaigns with my friend Schyler, an Eberron-mod campaign with a cleric of Bast named Fluffy, and a Base Races game with two characters-a second-level half-orc monk named Daed Li (Yes, that is pronounced Deadly) who got crushed by a block of stone, and a Gnome Bard who got me kicked out of the game when he started singing Dragostei Din Tei. But it was fun!

Also.

I met Goldenwolf IRL.

RESPECT.

She was really nice, too. Gave me a 5-dollar discount on a print of "Silver Falls," which is this great pic of a snow leopardgirl. It is now on my ceiling above the head of my bed.

I got all sorts of cool privileges since my brother's (half-brother really) sister was IN CHARGE OF THE WHOLE THING. I got to eat at the staff lounge...well, that was about it. But it was cool!

Ehh...slept very little, played lots of D&D, my Felinian Warmage now has automail legs, squashed Chrono Spiders with a ship costing enough XP to bring a 210th level character down to 9th, blew up the Cabbage Guy's cart in the same campaign, didn't leave the hotel for all four days of Pcon...man I'm exhausted. I also got a free CD of trance from a guy that will keep me sane until I find something else in Lake County that makes me go berserk with a hedgecutter.

My birthday was the 11th, and I have a new radio. It's really nice, and IT ACTUALLY PLAYS CDs, unlike my old one. The only problem is that the radio reception it gets sucks, and that it sounds flat unless you have the BBS on. Sometimes the speakers buzz, but NO MORE COMPLAINING. I like my radio.

My stupid brother had his appendix out, so now he's sleeping a lot. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to borrow his CDs for a while since I had too many borrowed, so I'm listening to an old Dr. Demento mix CD and whistling Let's All get Demented by Igor Biggun.

I'll try and be on tonight, guys, so please, do the same. I'M TIRED OF THE WASTELANDERS!

I was going to dress up as Pyramid Head for Halloween, but I ran out of time. Being grounded for two weeks didn't help. What's more, Lady Fate has once more flipped me the bird and run off laughing. Mom's grapics card has died. I had to give the kittens to the shelter yesterday.

God I am having a shitty week.

Least I'm not the only one. My brother's dad died. Pity-he was a nice guy. So...now I have a boring month ahead of me. No trick-or-treating, no going out period in fact. I guess at least I can sit in my room, dressed as Jack Skellington, and sulk. Back to school tomorrow, where I have a decent internet connection. Also, I'll be uploading something soon. Don't expect the Mona Lisa. The scanner had two options, basically-shitty and scans-the-paper-along-with-the-creases-and-the-mistakes-that-won't-erase, but it's better a shitty scan than a decent one on the 21st of Never.

Since you have missed the previous chance to enter, I have decided to be lenient and re-issue the challenge. The prize of naming rights for one of the kittens is still up for grabs. I will give up my own, is all.

HERE IS DA RULEZ AS I SEZ.

The generas permissible are Animals, Anthro, Fanart, Sculpture, or Other.

The kittens are tabbies, genders unknown until further notice. Ergo, you may make the depiction of the kitten of choice either gender.

The contest ends in roughly a month, at which point the kittens will be aware enough of the world (eyes open, fully developed and wreaking havoc) that the naming rights will be /moot/.

Any name of any ethnicity is permissible unless it has a directly lewd feeling or can be construed as an insult. The exception to the rule is "Baka" or some variant on that.

I have no particular feelings as to the art's final look as long as it expresses the kitten in some way. You may draw the way you think the kitten looks, how they would look anthropomorphized, sculpt them in your medium of choice, I don't care.

First Prize is naming rights for one kitten.

Second Prize is Backup Naming Rights, in case some member of my family objects or I do.

Third prize is Backup Backup Naming Rights, etc etc.

I'm incredibly sick of people acting like the "OMG KAWAII!!! ^_____^" approval of a rabid fangirly bunch of 14 year olds makes for good artwork. Yes, getting recognition anywhere is nice, but if you let getting recognition on DeviantArt make you think it means ANYTHING about your work then you are sadly, sadly mistaken.

some of the most incredibly talented artists I have ever encountered are like ghosts on here. Conversely, some of the most horrendous, talentless people I've ever seen the shit of get thousands of PVs and comments because they drew, like, Harry Potter getting fucked in the ass by Draco Malfoy in Photoshop.

This, while amazing authors like Aeondehafka are next to ignored. She inspired me to start writing, and though many of my first attempts embarrass me, I have been steadily improving.

Second Life. Or more accurately, ITS FUCKING INABILITY TO RUN ON DIALUP.

Yet another way this one-horse thorpe ruins my online life. Not satisfied with delivering some bug into my mom's computer and basically killing it, it decides to ruin my OTHER chances too.

I can't even go on Runescape. Like I'd go on that noobsnest. :shudder: :moreshudder:

Well, something had to happen to balance out the good that happened today. I found out my tabbycat Stitch is pregnant. The knowledge that in a few short months I shall have kittens to dote over calms me enough to keep me from flying into a homicidal rage.

My mom's comp has crapped out. For some unholy reason it does not want to load up in Normal Mode and freezes halfway through the "Windows 98" screen. What's more, we've run Scandisk on it...5 times? and defragged it once. And it still wants to be bitchy. So I write this from a library comp and bitch and swear and get threats to be sent out (jk jk).

Wait. Back up. Lemme start from the beginning.

I do all my MS Paint art on my room computer, a several year old Dell. It's not connected to the internet and probably never will be, but that's enough of that. here's how it goes: I had my files saved as .bmp files, and when i come up, DevArt tells me I can't upload non-Jpeg or non-gif files. So I go to the image and save it to my mom's computer (the internet one), then use her copy of MS Paint to save it again, this time as a JPEG or GIF. It goes ahead and saves, and I happily og back to DevArt and try to upload the pic.

It has remained a BMP.

I try again.

And again,

And again.

By this point I'm seriously pissed. So I think, "Fuck this" and come here, write this, and vent. I feel much better already.

Bottom Line: No art for a while.

Lego stuff will be what I will be posting most. Mecha and a few interesting combinations of usually incompatible things. For example, I have a Basic Gorm Galidor figure, which I have been steadily modifying using Technic, Bionicle and System units. His arms and legs are on an all-purpose thing I'm working on.

I may be able to get some maps of a fantasy world for my first D&D campaign. They are all done in MS Paint and a little crudely. These are the one's you'll see, in rough order.

1) I have a short attention span. Thus, I have not learned to ink or draw very well. Very few of my pictures will be colored, and the ones that are will be done badly, in most cases, and either in A) Crayon or B) Marker. A lucky few may be done in colored pencil, but don't expect any miracles.

2) I cannot draw living things (except for plants and fantasy animals) very well at all. Whenever I try, my own incompetence causes me to waste a perfectly good piece of paper. Mostly, you'll be seeing Mecha or a few creatures from a novel I'm writing.

3) I have no cash. I don't have a job, nor do I recieve an appreciable allowance. So I can't afford comissions. If you're willing to wait a while for inspired but crude work, I will do an art trade.

4) I have a weakness for Cat-, Raccoon-,Fox-, ah hell, why bother. To sum it up, I have an obession with femmes of the anthropomorphic animal persuasion. This is part of the reason I love dA so much. Andrew Dickman should be canonized. (canonized means made a saint in case you don't know.) ]]> ~MechaFurre
