Anyway, I'm not dead. Just really busy. Ever look back on the kinda stuff you did years back and go ECK! I really need to do new art, but for some reason, I can't sit still long enough. I sent this to got-mongoose-love, but some people told me they never were alerted. Well, I'm just going to leave it here then, to say that I'm alive and that I never really came to the conclusion Sonic ever showed his heart set on anyone in the comics. I've already made a more personal dev account for any personal ideas, art or feelings I want to share with deviantart when I am ready (which I'm not because my net service has problems where I live regularly). This account however will be a place to share my liking for Mina, and any other characters that are near and dear to me. So, if you notice me talking about cartoons a lot on this account, that's because I've set up another one that will be more absent of all the cartoon talk. There is more to life than cartoons you know, but they still are a big part of my entertainment and therefore have the right not to be ignored entirely. I like making big things to talk about since I don't exactly update very often.

My first topic will concern, Mina haters. More specifically, those who compare her to...that's right... Sally. First of all, it hasn't been as much of a problem as it was many years ago (much more under control), but why are people comparing SatAM Sally... to Archie's Mina? First, let me say that the two exist on two differing universes. Sally in SatAM and Sally in Archie are different to, so using that as substance to hate Mina is IMO not very wise and just seems like pointless bashing sugarcoated to appear as though someone has a well rounded arguement. Its not. SatAM Sally doesn't exactly exist in Archie because SatAM is a seprate continuity to Archie no matter how many similarities are present within it.

To go further, the SatAM fans worship Sally, and then call Mina a Mary-sue. Now, I like old school, love SatAM, and Sally wasn't so bad in it. But lets back up. Sally is the brains of the operation, Sonic's partner on missions, his ONLY object of affection, is practically a main character (so much so that some fans call Sonic a guest star in his own show), has an angst ridden past and present of leading a bunch of rebels and losing her father and the one who keeps everybody focused. Now, make Sally male, a kid, Caucasian with red hair and you've got Chris Thorndyke.

Don't get mad, lets evaluate Chris:

+ Always at Sonic's side, (Like Sally)


+ apparently seems to be the peak of Sonic's interest, (Like Princess Sally)


+can negotiate which shows his ability to keep the head on people's shoulder's (Like Sally)


+ and has a sad past because his parents weren't around as he grew up leaving Sonic and his friends to be that close knit family with Tanaka, Chuck, and Ella, that he can't have with his own parents regularly. (Like Sally)

+Is a HUGE center of focus in the storyline, so much so that people can argue which is the true star of the series (Like Sally)

If I wrote a story featuring either Chris or Sally, I'd most likely be criticized by many people for making a Mary-sue/Gary-stu. Both of them share a LOT of sue like traits. Compare that to Mina's super speed, and you've got so much more on their end to boot. Hypocritical to whine about Mina or Chris and then make Sally shrines to worship her as some sort of demigod. That's not to say anyone cannot like Sues. Mina has a few sue traits after all. I'm just saying, its so sad to point the finger at other characters such as Mina Mongoose, and whine about their one sue trait, when the character you compare her to (SatAM Sally) has somewhere between 3 - 5 Mary-sue/Gary-stu characteristics.

So that's my take on such hypocricy and faulty comparisons. But I suppose that's not everything. Ash is becoming a reason too. Mina likes Sonic, but what about Ash? How insensitive is she to persue Sonic while Ash is around? Hello, ladies and gentlement please read issue 150 and 144, Mina deffinately thinks about Ash's feelings. She cares about Sonic, but she understands Ash is a guy with feelings. She does not hang out with Sonic, without eventually understanding that. Others say she is insensitive because she isn't taking the time to get to know her boyfriend. His glares of jealousy towards Sonic and other gestures of jealousy go unoticed to Mina. She's insensitive and stupid right? Actually, Ash's regular face is a scowl. His character design by WB was made with him scowling and he does that on a regular basis. Ash is a scowler. Isabella, Amy, Mina, not even Sonic during 145 payed it ANY mind because that's his regular look. So if Ash is glaring at Sonic with a scowl because he's jealous, nobody is going to know its because he's jealous because he scowls regularly.


Then comes this whole "Eeew Mina's like Brittany Spears." Just because WB says Mina seems to remind him of Britney Spears. Can people stop calling her Britney Spears simply because a popular Sonic artist says it? Its one thing to have substance to calling Mina the equivalent to Mrs. Spears. But, its another to have NO substance, use it as some reason to hate Mina and be done with it. Now, there are those out there who "care" about me in that way, this is not the time to make public any agony or dispute you have over this concept. but here it is:


Lately, I thought to myself, why do many people desire to be with another person? Well most of them say that with their partner they're more complete, aren't lonely and so fourth. But to rely on your partner for those things only ends people up in heartbreak. Once you break up, or if you grow old together one of you dies the fear of lonliness a lack of being loved, etc that you tried running away from by establishing yourself with a partner ultimately comes to the surface. Is the whole point of many relationships pointless? To escape what cannot be escaped in some way shape or form? Speration will be inevitable. Whether by a breakup or death itself.

After the thought about this, I feel, that romantic relationships can happen, but if they're for the right reasons. The hardest part about it is to try brushing off getting in a relationship for the sole desire of being loved.

When you're in a relationship for "love" you are saying you have the ultimate care for someone (hey I can't think of a greater word for care in our language). If you care that much, its about thinking about the other person's needs, not your own. A relationship IMO should (but most of the time isn't) about being together to tend to the other's needs. In the end people find themselves in a relationship to fufill selfish desires of feeling loved. And the wrath of posession will befall a couple eventually.

If you want your partner simply to have them, even if your posession lasts a life time, one of you shall die, and you will feel the pain of losing your trophy. Posession doesn't win. Nor does infaturation. The superficial qualities about people (hair, skin, physical attractiveness) will die away in sure time. I think people should be careful about why they get into a relationship because the reality of it is that looks will fade and you'll be stuck with someone you have no reason to want anymore and alas you're unhappy.


Love wins. If you're in it for the desire to see them happy above all else, comprimise can come (if both are comprimising to the philosophy) even in death, the pain of not being loved isn't there because that wasn't what the relationship was about. The pain of losing your beloved trophy or cute boyfriend/husband isn't there either because it too wasn't apart of the relationship. If they died happy, you can feel complete not violated.

...but I'm just mindlessly rambling a crazy idea aren't I?

Okay, so I'm in the middle of a messageboard conversation, and I get warned by a moderator because he says "I don't have the right to say what pairings people think are and are not better", trying to defend Sonic/Amy fans I "lashed" out on.

Okay, first of all, I wasn't directing it to all Sonic/Amy fans just the Sonic/Amy fans who don't know who Mina and Sally are. The topic says which pairing is BETTER! in order to know what's BETTER you need to at least need to know what the heck you're comparing. Does saying "Sally Acorn is prettier than Barbie Koala... but I dunno who Barbie Koala is (let alone what she looks like)!!!123"

It makes no sense to try comparing something with something else you don't know. So why am I being lashed out on just for saying these people have no right to be going to that topic to say who's better when they don't know every dynamic the topic started introduced to know which is the best?

Simple

and.... its sad. How overrated Amy Rose is. You have so many people who would go through the depths of stupidty just to defend an aneorexic, hobbyless, pink hedgehog who's next to Sally on the "lacking self worth" shelf. Yet she's "grrl p0wer" she's "adoreable" and so forth. I don't mean the comics, or even the STI video games of Amy (and as vain as she was I could appreciate her more), don't get me wrong. But I can't STAND this pink hedgehog I see in the games now.

It appears that SatAM and Archie were a joint collaboration between SoA, DiC and Sonic Team.

Key word: Sonic Team.

together, they made a world, a storyline, profiles and basically the foundational story. So, Archie and SatAM are both in a sense Sonic Team universes. Thus purists still have no reason to leap for joy.


Another pet peeve of mine:

"Mina is copywritten to Archie"

"Sally is copywritten to DiC"

"Amy/Sonic/Knuckles is copywritten to Sega"


No offense to people who do this, but initially this was done to establish some sort of rank amongst characters. Which was closest to being a Sega character, and I find it quite stupid. Ask any Archie writer if they'll take your fanfic or comic and display it and they'll tell you no.

Why? Because Sega would take rights to it all. ANY character in the comics for instance have rights taken to Sega. The writers answer to these guys, and the characters are theirs. Sally, Mina and any other non game character have their copyrights to SEGA, not their comic's publishing company.

Blah, quickly typed something in my head up. Its sort of funny. How people segregate characters and such. Much like racism and stuff. I suppose if it can happen with cartoons, people have no reason to wonder how mankind finds their way in doing it in real life.

Whether its X-men's Jean grey acting like a cold hearted individual who wants to leech on poor Rouge, or Sonic the hedgehog's Amy Rose turning into the poor, abused, sympathetic character, there's probably NO comic, game, or work that doesn't meet such an annoying trend of writing.

fanfictions are fun, fanfictions are cool. They can be captivating works of art without illustrations, the words and descriptions are the brush, and the plot and characterizations. They allow one to use their artistic lisences to tell a story... a great concept, that I think people in general are abusing.

I do not "hate" the people who do this, I do not have a problem with anyone's character content, today, I'm merely going to focus on the fics, on my favorite comic/cartoon/blah blah blah...Sonic.

Now, to be frank, I don't know why I put up with Sonic games, Final Fantasy gives a lot more worth to the cash you chuck out for these games. Sonic Heroes in my mind was a reguritated peice with same levels, gameplay, stale plot and characters who don't do the slightest developing, and anyone wonder why Knux left the island to adventure?


Okay, so now we have clear that even though I'm a Sonic fan, I have to admit his games aren't the best, and I'm not even a fan of him because of his games.

When I go into the fanfiction.net category for Sonic, I usually end up slapping my forehead thinking "why did I waste my time?" Hope I suppose. So to continue, lets make clear what the heck I find wrong with Sonic fanfictions.

The first thing is, is that they can't decide what continuity they want to write a fic on. They slap in characters without research, or any second thoughts, confusing the reader. If you are writing these fics for yourself, don't make them public folks, if you are giving them to the public for us to read, do us a favor and at least help us understand what the heck you are talking about. Are you reffering to the comics? show? STI games? Sonic Team games? Sonic X? Its important to make a good note in specifying this so whe know how the character is supposed to behave, as the characters can and have behaved differently in different continuities.

Amy Rose oriented, or Sonic/Amy fanfictions

Now normally, these fics take the cake for OOCness.

First of all, how come Amy wants to go on an adventure. Her reasons for going usually consist of trying to get Sonic to marry her, in the end she is dragged into an adventure. Amy KNOWS this is how it goes, she's approved of this admitting it in adventure. She knows by following Sonic around adventures are bound to happen. She doesn't have enough self worth to look to herself for a good time, Sonic must define it for her, so a solo story would be hard to come by unless Amy finding her own self worth was developed prior. The problem is just that: it isn't. So its OOC, to conviently change characterizations with NO developments.

An implied excuse within the writing is that Amy says she'll get Sonic to respect her. Yes, but Sonic adventure was years ago, we have a couple more games out to expand on what Amy means. She is more aggressive in her approach to getting Sonic. In SA, her little fantasy of Sonic turned into a full blown "marry me" craze that made the Sonic chasing more renown. Has she done much in Sonic's presence in terms of fighting and aiding, no. She's become more bold and aggressive towards everyone in regards to her "romance" with Sonic so that they respect it. That's that. The end. At least IMO.

So now that people know why these abrupt "kick butt to impress the readers/Sonic OOC fics" annoy me a bit, lets go on to SonAmy romance.In the cast, it usually consists of Sonic, Tails, Rouge, Amy, Mina, Shadow and princess Sally.

Tails: The "boy's" best friend.

In SonAmy fics, Tails tends to be the boy who says "Stop being macho Sonic! You love Amy don't you?" He's the close friend who suspects Sonic loves her, support her with him, and wants to pry it out of Sonic.

Again, this is OOC, please play your games.


He approves of Sonic/Amy, he's happy with Amy's approach and wants her with Sonic.

Save it, I don't care, I don't like the comic interpretation of Sally. You can go to a board and talk about loving Sally Acorn or Amy Rose, but that's it. I'm so sick and tired of people trying to convert me into debating on behalf of their girl. Its not happenin'. For now, Mina's the one I choose to support, not Sally, not Amy.

And due to sooo many people wanting to know WHY I don't think Sally or Amy are hot for Sonic I'll just say my peice here. Please ignore this journal if you can't bear reading someone else's opinion:

Sally: I don't support her with Sonic, in SatAM nor Archie. Some people need to get over it. I'm not going to change my opinion anytime soon, if ever, so find someone else to rant for your "precious" princess.


I don't like Sonic/Sally in SatAM because Sally was consumed on trying to make him someone she could love, or acting in a way that didn't consider his feelings (trying to make Sonic be more of a gentlemen by using Griff? Not caring about how upset he'd feel?, If Sally truly loved Sonic, why have the urge to morph him into something else if she appreciated who he was already? Why make him jealous if she's supposed to be the loving girl who cares about how he feels? Then there's Sonic who basically just ran off on missions, not caring about the danger as much as he should if at all, and thus not caring about how Sally could feel based on his actions. Lets also touch on Antoine, whom competed with Sonic for Sally. When Sally points out she isn't comitted to Sonic sometime in the continuity of the show, he runs off sulking and upset. Not considering Sally's happiness when the frustration over his rivalry with Ant blows up in her face, no happiness considered by respecting Sally's desicion, just an immature reaction that showed his interest was in having the "prized" princess of the show, not to make a serious commitment in making her happy, and vice versa. They need not have a committed relationship to one another, so they need not be together. They are obviously not but so loving and committed to each other's needs. Can they cheer each other up and stuff? Certainly, but the way the relationship was handled makes me feel they weren't committed to one another's needs. Its one thing to do something, its another to be comitted to it. The way it was handled made me feel the good times they shared were merely something to advance their own interests in having one another. I like SatAM Sally, don't get me wrong, but I just don't think Sonic's right for her.

In Archie, its the same problem in regards to the relationship. Sonic wants to run off on adventure, Sally wants to rule, neither of them comitted to each other's needs for comprimise to happen. Not only that but in my mind, Sally is evidently posessive of Sonic, and he is posessive of her. When Sally thought she lost Sonic to Mina, she was a cold, biting, resentful brat. She didn't at all consider how he felt, and didn't consider his happiness. Instead Sally ignored, evaded, and tried cutting Sonic out of a mission. That showes her desire to have Sonic, and not see him happy. Why? Because she's warm to Sonic when she can have him, but once she can't most desire to persue him with an attractive attitude and mindset is gone. for the longest time, Sally had always thought she could have Sonic, as in: SHE'D be the girl he'd end up with if anyone. So, until the love triangle she would always be open to him. Once her ideology of having him is taken, all is out the window and she is a cold, biting brat.

Need more?

Go look at 134 and 138. Princess Pants is trying to force Sonic into staying in the palace and not fight, so she can have someone to rule at her side and to protect their future as a couple. In the end she abuses him when he refuses, to resume his duty for the better of the people. Her desire to ensure she has Sonic cuts away at thinking about what could make him happy. An example of trying to make sure she can "have" Sonic, without considering what makes him happy/what he wants. Sure she can be kind to Sonic, but you have to know the motive behind it. The idea she can do this to get Sonic, not "merely to make him happy." That's posession to me, not love. As the focus is "having" the charachter, not being committed to their happiness and at the very least consdiering comprimise.

So now I probably have a dozen Amy fans giggling in their seats. Well you can stop too because I'm not a Sonamy fan either.

Amy runs in pursuit of Sonic because he's her hero, and such. She wants to force him into marrying her and comitting. He has made it clear his answer is no, but she continues.

hee hee hee, Sonic the hedgehog was an idea from this woman IIRC inspiried by the adventures of her husband. After discussing the matter with other fans aware of this...it appears Sonic was bought from the family by Sega and given a physical appearance by Ohshima, the games programmed by Naka. But neither Naka or Ohshima made the storyline which would be a foundation for Sega to use nor the other universes. That credit goes to you miss Garnet, not Naka, Ohshima or any of them. I think I see now. She's the one we should be thanking. Not only for Sonic, but for many supporting cast members he has. Sonic Team will NEVER be able to be the truest form of Sonic EVER, they interpret her ideas like all others. And its not like Sega ever got detailed ideas from its truest source, because she died before she could see Sonic in a game with a storyline or anything.They added things like all others, So each is no better than the other. All universes are based off of HER. So none of the Sega oriented universes are official. None could ever be. The maker of Sonic is dead.Killed in a car crash in the 1970s. The game universe comes second, Mary's comes first.


Thus no Sonic Team isn't official.

Sonic is about 57 years old (while most only count his 13 years with Sega), his first universe established before Sega even took him. No universe will ever from what I've been told be able to to say they have the truest idea. Mary's ideas were the truest, she created the character and concept that was a foundation even for Sega itself. Unfortuneatly she died in a car crash in the 1970s, so there is no way she could team up with any group of creatives.

Not only that, but she gave him a personality to match her boyfriend. Its rather confusing, but I'll continue researching this angle so that we can figure out more about how Sonic came to be. But for now we can see this woman made him. Hopefully she'll gain some respect.

Looking at this quote SEGA had already asked what would be Sonic's characterization prior to members of Sonic Team coming into the picture. as it says the company needed someone to embody a series of personality traits...THEN they hold a contest.

Of course Sonic Team, Archie and other universes all ultimately work for SEGA, whether their mediums are published by the company or not. So...what member of SEGA actually is responsible for Sonic's character? It said SEGA wanted someone to embody a series of character traits, but any names? The higher ups at SEGA of course. But many people overlook them at forums especially when to testing this arguement out because no names come to mind.

By reading these two quotes you should see what I'm getting at...Nakayama. you see when defining what is the true "Sonic" and his true "continuity" two things have to be considered:

Who was truly responsible for his characterization?

and...

Who was truly responsible for his storyline?


Who is clearly responsible for Sonic's characterization would be him. Due to the fact Nakayama was the specific higher up at SEGA who actually thought of the characteristics he wanted people working for him to embody. Ohshima embodied what Nakayama wanted in the form of a hedgehog. The problem is a physical characteristic doesn't define the true characterization of Sonic. Thus Ohshima did not establish the foundational characterization for Sonic. Nakayama did. However Nakayama isn't stated as a Sonic Team member, he was simply the one credited with handing Sonic Team Sonic to embody and put into a game.

The problem with people is that they see Sonic for what he is in his design. His characterization would be the same regardless of that though. And all universes will follow a design, so there really is no one that's more official than another because the artistic ideas will always be the same. Its the characterization that determines which version of the character Sonic is the truth. The answer is that there is none. As Sonic's developer regarding characterization wasn't a member of Sonic Team or any other universe.


But what about foundational storyline?

The truth is from what I gathered that there is none.

Probably, if you are a member of majority of the fanbase you have, perhaps. The problem with such a quote is how much ignorance it actually holds, and how ignorant it can make people who want to learn about Sonic.

The first thing a lot of people think about (especially Sonic Team purists) is if the storyline of a continuity of Sonic is made by Sonic Team. Otherwise they deem it unofficial.

First misconception, the is the idea Sonic Team made Sonic. Sonic Team established his design and the games he'd be featured in. The Sega exectuives were the ones who made Sonic's character and storyline, not Sonic Team. Any true fan of the content of Sonic's character would be able to love him for the content of his character, not for a mere design. So in truth, Sega executives made the content of Sonic's character, and the storyline. Not Sonic Team.

This is actually something people say to back up the idea Sonic Team is the true universe under Sega.Sonic Team games are published by SEGA, that's the only real difference between it and other universes. The author of Sailor Moon made a manga, and in America its published by Tokyopop, but the anime is not published through Tokyopop, because Tokyopop publishes manga not anime. So in America DiC, and later on another company publishes Sailor Moon in an anime. They're both ideas of the adventures of Sailor Moon, but they're published through different companies, because one focuses on a manga the other anime. Same with Sega, Sega works with publishing games. So they can easily publish the games created by their mascot, they even did this with STI games, games representing a seperate continuity of Sonic being put into a game. It was different because they handled the interpretations of what Sega exectuvies wanted differently like say SatAM did. Sonic Team interpreted it another way. Both get published by Sega because they are GAMES, not because one is favored over the other. Sega only publishes games, it allows other companies with expirience in publishing other media, to publish the non game continuities.But the team of other creatives who interpret and work with the non game continuities based on how they see what Sega wanted still have to abide by SEGA regulations, mainly Archie. Thus Archie especially has an idea of what Sega wants the route of the characters to go even better than Sonic Team.






Thus SEGA is just as much of if not more in control of the comics in comparision to the games. Sonic Team works/worked for SEGA yes, but they weren't the executives that created the charachter, they're as much a part of SEGA as all the other universes.Well, SEGA publishes games, not comics, or cartoons, which makes them able to directly publish a game but not something like a comic. The only difference, is the publishers of the mediums of continuity are of different. SEGA still has control of all plots, and developments of the charachters. The creatives of Archie still work for SEGA, and the profit still goes to SEGA. Thus the creatives work for SEGA just like Sonic Team.

Onto another topic. The comics make adaptions to Sonic Team's physical designs for advertising reasons, but that's simply a physical charachteristic. Sonic Team themselves developed no foundational content of Sonic's charachter that the other universes must follow. Sonic Team has no control over the content of Sonic's charachter in other continuities (save Sonic X), the only charachteristics provided to other creatives are the basic ideas the SEGA executives made.

Yuji Naka simply developed the games and designs. He was not behind charachterization or storylines. The team of creatives he leads is called "Sonic Team". So what? When they initially came out they didn't even have a name. P.S: This is a rant for MY journal, my comfort, in other words. Do not get on my case about grammar, this is like my lil' diary journal thingy..not English class.

..anyways..I'm going talk about things I feel are currently misconceptions. No real order completely random.


Mina/Sonic=never happening

To this most would probably say this because they're hearing that in fact "The love triangle is over" by Mr. Gray (artist at archie) The statement went something like this..

THE LOVE TRIANGLE IS OVER. I REPEAT - THE LOVE TRIANGLE IS OVER. MOVE ALONG. THE WHITE ZONE IS FOR THE IMMEDIATE LOADING AND UNLOADING OF PASSENGERS ONLY

And to those people I personally beleive you didn't read the whole post. A part that interested me in particular was this

Thats part of the fun of waiting - you dont know whats going to happen. What we dont know is what her relationship is like with Ash, how he is outside of what little we've seen of him and what that is like in relation to her previous relationship/current close friendship with Sonic. Those things and anything else with Sonic will be touched upon as time goes on. But for right now - the horse is dead so stop beating it. There are other things to discuss in the book you know Things will eventually happen that will still develop Mina's relationship with Sonic and the rest of the cast and crew but for all intents and purposes, the love triangle is indeed finito and the story is indeed moving onwards. Moving onwards does not mean totally getting rid of the characters and thier previous relationships, but moreso evolving them . That goes with Mina too.
In my mind any romantic triangles Sonic's been in are not active for right now. And it'd be a lie to say they were, Mina's already dealing with Ash, and Sally's practically ditched Sonic after the 134 incident. Personally I see a Mina/Ash/Sonic triangle coming up in the future when time goes on, whatever feelings she has for Sonic will developed on. But not now, the comic has more things to touch on this year like Bunnie's past history etc, love triangles aren't the focus of the story.
I might also add that I wouldn't be surprised if taking the girls away from Sonic for awhile is to help them establish their own independance. Did anyone see the Sally Mini Series? A series that moved to develop Sally independantly from anything she established with Sonic? At the end of the series she's established having a new relationship she was in fact happy with and is seeming to move on with Geoffery. Which helps establish the idea she's not simply "Sonic's girl" and the mini series developed on what she could do. Why can't Mina undergo these things? When Sally goes with St.Jhon and develops her own interests in a mini series its okay and she's making herself look more independant, do that with Mina and the sky is falling..ahem why?
Anyway I'll be very interested in seeing how her relationships with Sonic and Ash go in the future but again, don't expect romance this year, and perhaps a lot of next year. I noticed he said "for now" the horse is dead. In this case the horse is the triangle/ any romantic issues Sonic has to undergo. Its a inactive issue for now. But in the future it'll probably be dealt with again but its dead for now, kick back and relax Sally and Mina fans because you will in fact have a lot of time to do fanfictions.

Sonic/Sally is going to happen because its featured in M:25YL

There's a lot of contraversy over how definite the future we see actually is. I can rightfully say though that Mr. Bollers will probably follow it as he did establish Nicole's roots the same as it'll be in M:25YL.However Mr. Penders told you that Sonic/Sally will happen, but at a price.I talked to someone very close to Ken and is the only one who really speaks on his behalf regarding Ken's feelings/interpretations to particular issues. But before we get into that Ken directly told fans :

"The only answers I've seen deal primarily with who Sonic ends up

with for a life partner. Personally, I don't believe he'd end up being a King with Sally as his mate. I went with that premise, however, because the majority of readership views that pairing as inevitable much like Superman's fans did with Lois Lane."

The slap on plot usually has a plot with no warning come to the surface, developments in abrupt relationships nonexsistant but the final result is in your lap and things were not at all like they were last time you saw it. Now this idea obviously has the ability to change the status quo a lot but the question is: Is "this" a way to really a good way to do it or should things be dealt with a bit more to ensure the fans some justice?

My answer is... slap ons usually do not give a person a chance to bond with the plot/relationship. How do you expect the changes to grow on the veiwers, be accepted, be enjoyed and to have an established a connection/bond with the veiwers if they've never gotten a chance to really develop that bond with the plot/pairing since you slapped it on? They didn't grow with the developments so its not very easy if possible (depending on the person) to simply like everything they see dumped on them.

I'm going to say that I've been looking into the Sonic comics and to do that I have to be on my way to the comic store.. y'know where you pick up your occasional Inuyasha here and a little Ah my Goddess there. Eventually you gotta think "what about American comics?" So I've been grasping onto these Archie Betty and Veronica things.. didn't really attract me, got more thrills from the Kodocha no Omocha manga starring 12-15 year old kids. Hey Archie fans, not to say the comic you like sucks I just really didn't connect with what I read when I did.


I can hardly remember what the heck it was I was reading, all I knew was that it wasn't for me... So new comic. Okay so how about the Powerpuff girls? Well I'll admit I actually every once in a blue moon watch them on TV, buuuut thats not enough to keep me buying their comics (as money doesn't grow on trees and there's a bazillion other ways to spend my it).

Then there was Lara Croft. Now for some of those guys out there who like a girl wearing short pants and having big boobies move around a lot, feel free to buy her comic. I remember vividly that there was some crash, she trained, and a few other parts stick out

Random guy: were they her boobies what were sticking out?

o___o I meant the storyline folks but ya never know.

*nudges C0nker* so.. dunno about me but you may like Lara.. jk!

Anyway the comic I bought managed to elaborate on what I think was Lara's past, but...I didn't feel like the comic was doing much to allow the veiwers to connect with her character. So while I knew partially of her past, Lara and me just weren't connecting, so I'll stick to her two movies. While some of you guys... and girls can keep your eyes stuck to her bust and rear.

(Lara fans don't flame me, I'm joking)

That was yeeeears back and now the only comic I really have on my American comic plate is Sonic.

Now to inform those who have no idea: Sonic went to save Earth and got blasted to another end of the universe. So he returns home after his journey from the other end of the universe to see :

His main love interest turned into a bawling abusive "psycopath." Now when someone so much as kicked Sonic, Sally acted like he was being burned alive, and suffering from a very strong case of ebola because she thought he was dead that year he was in space... and it was so unbearable (inset fake tears). But a couple issues before she contradicted herself by saying she knew he was alive. I think her insane state right now is really working on her mind. Then if you thought that was interesting she abuses him after he tells her he can't rule with her because he has to...fight for the people so they don't all die! Yeah Sal he's been doing that for soo long I'd think you would've gotten it by now.

You have Mina who nearly dies for Sonic before he leaves for his space trip, now trying to keep things steady with a guy we never heard of: Ash, and why not, last she checked she didn't think Sonic loved her. Karl from what SHQ's Cookirini says was asked a number of questions about the characters and soon to be stories coming up in Archie some of which will probably interest you and without further ado the questions that were answered by the writer of the Sonic Comic... Karl Bollers!

Hello Starshine,

To answer your questions:

1.) Question:Is or is not Mobius 25YL an alternate future?

Answer: Mobius 25 Years Later is one of many possible SONIC THE HEDGEHOG futures. DC Comics never says that the future presented in the LEGION OF SUPERHEROES is their official future and neither did Marvel Comics in their GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY comic. To do otherwise would greatly detract from current stories and affect whether or not fans care about what happens to the characters in the present day. Readers who like connecting dots between the past and present would be entertained, but those who enjoy suspense would not. Like the Terminator movies state, "The future is not yet written..."

2.) Question: With all these debates springing up about Mina and Sally, I suppose the question amongst both sides is: Will the triangle matter be touched again?

Answer: The triangle matter will be touched upon again, but not the way anyone expects. Mina fans won't want to miss SONIC THE HEDGEHOG #134.

3.) Question: Looking at two boards people wanted info on Mina's parents... What's Mina's mom's name for one thing, Drazen calls her robo mom and everyone else plain ol' Mrs. Mongoose o_o

Answer:Mina's mom's name is Isabella. The reason it has never been mentioned in a script was because neither Mina nor Sonic would ever have reason to call her by her first name and I didn't think it was necessary to shoehorn it in.

4.) Question: Another question I saw pop up was whether or not Mina's dad's a mongoose because he doesn't look like Mina in the eyes of some fans.

Answer: Mina's late father was a indeed a mongoose.

5.) Question:Who runs/leads the Freedom Fighters: Sonic or Sally?

Answer: Since the series' status quo has changed from a small group of ragtag rebels fighting an oppressor to three empires waging war, there are no longer any freedom fighters. Instead, the heroes of Acorn and Station Square are viewed more as soldiers. And since Princess Sally outranks Sonic in terms of political power, he'd have to technically listen to her. Technically.

6.) Question:How old should we consider the character Amy Rose? Some say she's 16, others 13, others 10.

Answer:According to Sonic Heroes, Amy is 12.

7.) Question:Will we ever learn about Bunnie's past before joining the Freedom Fighters (heh many fans like using the Cream sister of Bunnie complex so it brought about the question in me I guess)?

Answer:I currently have a story in the works that delves into Bunnie's pre-Knothole life.

8.) Question:Why is Tails the chosen one or will we find that out soon?

Answer:The reason for Tails being referred to as the Chosen One will be revealed in an upcoming 2-parter.

9.) Question:I also heard Fiona Fox is a Freedom Fighter, is that true? (yet another rumor)

Answer:Fiona Fox serves the Kingdom of Acorn, but like I said, there are no official freedom fighters.

10.) Question:I also heard Amy's with the Chaotix now? Is she going to be giving up Knothole and go to the floating island?

Answer:Amy was assigned to work with the Chaotix during the current "Home" arc due to the unique circumstances of that situation, but she won't be joining the Chaotix any time soon...

^v^ well there are the questions and that concludes Miko's DA news for today. Mina, Tails, Bunnie and Amy fans will perhaps get a bit of closure and pleasure from these answers.

Hope you're enjoying the new direction we've taken beginning with issue #130. We at Archie hope to make Sonic even bigger and better in 2004 than it was in 2003.

Sonic Editor J.F. Gabrie and I had a lengthy story conference this weekend to discuss upcoming storylines in the current SONIC series.

Regarding the continuity of Mobius 25 Years Later, it was decided by Justin and myself that even though the future depicted will be the one seen in the SONIC: IN YOUR FACE SPECIAL it is indeed an ALTERNATE future, similar to DC's Elseworld series.

That isn't to say that it won't be action-packed entertainment. Believe us when we say that M:25YL is going to really deliver!

And, sure, Sonic and Sally might not end up being king and queen in the future.

But who knows...

...they just might!

Whether you like pairing ____ or like characters _____ or like ice cream asparagus or fruit, one thing probably everyone doesn't like...is an art theif. Now I'm not going to say I hate this person, I don't know what kind of character he truly is. But the one thing I do hate is his actions. I hate the fact that this person decided to steal my artwork, that I worked on a looong time ago and then snagged it and claimed it is as their own.

Basically my veiwpoint about Sally/Antione occured when I got my hands on issues #60 and SSS#11. Sonic #60 and SSS #11 were one of the varying comics I haven't read (that's right I don't own EVERY last one guys) And it got me thinking why hasn't ANYONE thought of this pairing anymore?

In issue #60 The king says to Sally if she immersed into the source of all her husband would be Antione. Low and behold Sally DOES dip herself into the goo in SSS#11. Where not only this should confirm Sally/Antione then but this issue made it clear Sally Acorn could NEVER have a crown either as it says
Sally hasn't bonded with the source of all and she must see through bonding with it or "forever forfeit her birthright."

Now while some people have argued Sally's birthright would've been seeing the future and not the crown it goes a little deepter than that.

The king says in issue 60: And now you must decide whether or not you wish to rule over the realm-- for with the blessing a price must be paid! You will be joined physically--spiritually with the source of all!

And Sally in SSS #11 says: I guess things weren't meant to be then! I'm not sure I want to know everything in order to be queen!

and the source of all says: You realize that once you make your decision there is no turning back?

Ultimately implying the source understands Sally knows that knowing the future AND being queen comes into the same package, and the king in issue 60 said that to be queen she must be one with the source. So this basically proves Sally cannot be a queen because in the end of Sonic super special 11 Sally rejects the source.

So lets answer some lingering questions about the "vision" everyone saw in that same story with Sonic and Sally with kids.

The vision cannot happen. First off any chance OF it happening was contradicted the moment Sally rejected the source, and thus rejected the crown. Of course as you'll see in the vision Sally HAS a crown. Contradiction made clear and simple and I decided to use a contradiction that didn't involve the love triangle.

So basically how can the source explain 2 different futures? One it showes Sally with Sonic and kids and the other future it showed Max with princess Sally married to Antione?

Because in super special #11 the source explains that it makes individuals aware of the consequences of each action they take.

"Nothing that one who is bound with the source does is ever done lightly." Is the source of all's explanation in SSS#11.

The source of all showed Sally a vision right after telling her this the king Sonic/Queen Sally vision. And it indeed showed a consequence. But what was this vision a consequence of? Bonding with the source of all.

Sally was undergoing a ritual to see whether or not she wanted to rule the kingdom because she'd have to bond with the source to do so. So the source showing the consequence of each someone's decision showed Sally what WOULD HAVE happened if she bonded with the source of all. Because the decision that needed to be made was whether or not to bond with the source of all throughout the story and the source showed her what would've happened so she did not take her decision lightly.

Question: So why could Sally see that future if she hadn't bonded with the source? If the source showes those who bonded to the source potential futures that are consequences towards their decisions so they don't take their actions lightly right why did Sally see if she's not one with it?

These are good questions! First off it is apparent that the Sally didn't bond with the souce but can still communicate WITH it. Only when a device is around that holds in it the source of all such as the sword or if one is actually in the pool itself. When Sally has neither she cannot communicate with the source. So basically the intentions of the source was to show her the consequences of her actions around the clock. It would have been able do this if it had been apart of Sally/ if it had bonded with her. But because she hasn't bonded with it she rarely sees these consequences that would happen if she goes through with a certain decision. So its not always with her, capeable of guiding her to making decisions that would put her on the throne or with Sonic. Now first before I continue I mainly promote the pairing in the comics. I'm not shoving the idea down fans of say Sonic X that they have to be a fan of Mina Mongoose as even I think the one and only (literally) love interest for Sonic in that continuity is Amy.

So lets get started.

I decided I'd squash some ideas about Mina not really wanting Sonic but has more lustful wants towards him, Sally wanting him because she "truly" loves him.

Now this is an idea by those who actually think Archie is mature enough to imply sex which I think is downright silly because the target is audience is 6-11 year olds and they NEVER imply sexual content. My only question is how is it that Mina is simply a boy crazy girl wanting to have sex with everyone and just wants to use Sonic when she's been extremely loyal. How is it that people can try to depict her as som girl who has no loyalty to him and wants him for lustful purposes when she's never thought of him in "that" way and has always been loyal to Sonic even after 123 and yet they can support Sally who was trying her hand at both Geoffery St. Jhon and Knuckles not necessarily being totally faithful to Sonic and nearly killed her very ten year freindship with Sonic over something as trivial as a love triangle. So let me get this straight....

Archie's Sally Acorn who doesn't seem to take to heart whatever bond with Sonic she has evades Sonic, won't talk to him ect when she feels she cannot have him. If she truly loved him I feel that she would've always been a caring freind no matter what happened between Sonic and Mina because she'd love him enough to want to see him happy. Sally was a poor sport when she felt she couldn't have Sonic and didn't act like someone who wanted to see him happy because she loved him, rather she was evading and not talking to him to make herself feel better. Once she learns she can have him in 109 she's peachy with him again and is much more caring after 123. Sally has only really be " sweet" to Sonic when she feels she can " have" him not regardless of the situation to prove her love. Not only that but she's had her eyes on multiple guys and wants to know she can "have" Sonic and doesn't behave like she truly loves him....

and THIS is supposed to be the girl who truly loves him and is not trying to simply have lusftul ideas compared to Mina Mongoose who has been at Sonic's side even when she feels she can't have him, and nearly died for Sally to make Sonic happy only did this for lustful purposes and doesn't truly love him but wants to know she can have him if she ever wants to do these things? Okay if that were so she would've let Sally get shot, die and have Sonic all to herself. Mina COULD HAVE won once and for all but she decided Sonic's happiness was more important and decided to save Sally to make Sonic happy because she felt this would make him happy. She did that because she actually LOVES him.

So who is the real harlot? I'm not saying either of them are. I just find it funny that people who beleive the characters actually undergo sexual activity behind the scenes would actually think it would be MINA who only wanted him for lust and wanted to have the knowledge of having him while in fact this girl did more than Sally prove that indeed that would've been Sally's place in this scenario and thats if we were even toying with the idea to say maybe lusftul acts go on in the comics behind the scenes so kids won't be offended.

So another silly idea replied to. I just find some of these ideas stupid, especially this one, but the dumber ones will probably come before my actually feelings towards Sally's future and

P.S be expecting my POV as to why I feel Sally's husband cannot be Sonic in the future no matter how many of these popular looks into the futures Archie makes. Coming soon... Basically I've been asked "When I'm I going to see that work I requested" the answer:

I'm being delayed.

Why?

Because

1. I have school

2. I'm doing a fancomic.

Well Its not up yet but its in the process of having a layed out story so basically all I'm doing is letting the option of being an artist for the comic open.

Basically we're pondering about characters like

Mina
Sonic
Sally
Amy
Tails
Knuckles
Shadow
Antione
Bunnie
Lupe
Rouge


And so fourth. We'd like to see your opinions on what characters to use and not to use. Also feel free to tell me if you'd like to assist when it comes to the artwork such as covers or actual pages inside the book. Of course I think if I get any offers I'd like to see a sample of work to see whether I'd like to use it or not. Although we're pushing for a more manga look we wouldn't mind seeing digital artwork and if your really good perhaps some colored pencil works (as copics are hard to find) anyway just reply and tell me if you'd like to help and if you are accepted I'll be sure to tell you the storyline to see if you want to actually draw for this story/trilogy.
