Better is One Day

But first, a quick update relating to my art. Two of my pieces made it into the Student Show! "Clip," renamed "Artifact 24," and "Float," renamed "Suspension of Proportion," were the two lucky little sculptures that were selected. So that's good news. Of course, the student show is going to be over soon (it's been up for a while) but nothing of mine made it last year, so I was happy.

OK, on to the quiz thingy...

"Middle Acoustic" by Jimmy Eat World (hmm...well, I guess we could just take "Acoustic" and say that I like guys to be musical...hmm)

"Rats In The Cellar" by Cool Hand Luke (it really is amazing how many songs are on my little compy that I don't really know...but rats in the cellar are probably yucky, and that would probably be an accurate description of today overall, unfortunately.)

5.What is your life's purpose?
"Downtown Man" by Ethan Durelle (so, I'm pretty sure this is a song about feeling lost. either that or being freed. I suppose either would work, depending on my mood)

6.What is your motto?
"Until The World" by Blisse (one of my favorite songs. I would love to be able to say and mean the lyrics to this song any day. "until this life is done, until the world dies, I'll be there")

7.What do your friends think of you?
"Slow Decay" by Dashboard Confessional (one word: morbid. ...ok, maybe three: creepy, sad)

Alright, so I just uploaded my first sculpture from the semester (ironic, since the semester is just about over...oh, well). The next three will come in the next few days, probably one per day because I personally don't like a flood of deviations on my watch list, so I don't want to inflict that on others. The rest of my intaglio prints should be close behind (I actually haven't photographed them yet). I don't know about my paintings, though. I'm not sure if I'll be able to photograph them before I leave to go home, and I think they're not going home with me (I need something on the walls at my apartment here, you know), so I'll let you know on that soon. I've done three more paintings since my last submission, by the way.

Well, I hope you enjoy seeing the rest of the works from this semester! Critiques and comments would be very much appreciated!

Some Update Stuffs

Alright, I've put up two prints and an update of one that I had already submitted. The painting should be up soon (tomorrow maybe?). So that leaves one print, two (I hope) sculptures, and a third sculpture coming Thursday. The second sculpture was supposed to be cast this weekend, but I didn't get to go to the casting, so I'm not sure if it turned out alright. I should find out soon, though. And I'm starting on new projects in all three of my classes, so there will be even more stuff in about two to three weeks... Whew! That's a lot of info for one of my journal entries!

My painting is finished...in fact, it's hanging on my wall...but the batteries for my camera are dead, which means I can't let you see it yet. And I have three prints and a sculpture to document as well...with two more sculptures on the way. I'll try to get it all up here soon! (And hopefully before more art piles up!)

I'm going to do something I've never done before. I'm going to post stages of my work for my current painting assignment. So anyone who wants to can see the way I see my work...as more than a finished product. I'm actually really excited about this painting already. It makes me happy. ^_^

Anyway, look in my Scraps for the current postings and tell me what you think!

And don't forget that I would love to hear critiques of my finished works!

I guess I really should update...

I've uploaded a few works since the last journal entry, in case you didn't notice... XP

I have also finished my first wood sculpture and one more print (and am close to finishing a third...this one is finally a metal plate instead of phenolic...) but I'm not sure when I'll be able to get those on here, so you'll just have to wait! HaHa! Anyway, in case you hadn't noticed, I'm very tired and trying to put off what I should be doing right now...I'm such a procrastinator...

Well, I guess it's TTFN!

I took some pictures of my sculptures on display at the art building, so I'll be uploading them in the next few days. The quality isn't very good, but I'm happy to finally have them documented. And I needed to update my journal since I hadn't done so in several months...oh, well...

So, I definitely don't have much more to do this semester. Some reading, and my finals...but that's it. I know I need to enjoy this becasue starting next semester, this is NEVER going to happen again. I'll be working to finish all my art projects like crazy...

Anyway, I have a portfolio selection critique on Friday, and then I'll bring my drawings home to crop and spray fix them, so I'll be able to photograph some and put them in my gallery! As for my sculptures...I'm not sure when I'll be able to get pictures of them. They live in the sculpture studio and I think my professor wants to keep them there for a while (he likes to have examples of student work for his classes). And the studio doesn't really have a good place for photography...so, yeah...

And don't be afraid to critique/comment on my work! I appreciate feedback very much!

Well, the Student Show opening was today. None of my pieces made it. Ug. I know there's always next year...and the year after that...and the year after that...and the--as long as it takes for me to get through this BFA thing... But still. I thought that surely one of the four would make it. *sigh*

Well, I had hoped to post some of my drawings from both last semester and this semester, but I haven't gotten around to taking pictures of them yet. -_- They're just so big...so hard to transport...and I always forget my camera... Anyway, I do have a few shots of some homework assignments (only a few, and this semester only -_-). Those have just been submitted. ^_^ Probably not my best work, but it makes me happy to have something new up.

Alright, so it took me long enough to get one of these things. The reason? I am paranoid about people stealing my work. So instead, I uploaded my pictures on MySpace and posted poems and stuff on Xanga. Makes perfect sense, doesn't it? Anyway, I'm here now. Comments and critiques are much appreciated!
