NOTE: The match between narutokun and Happydais was a tie to ensure an even number of contestants.

This round was very sandbox-style. I didn't make a certain setting since you could have interacted on any terrain so long as you're going to Rim's stronghold. You could meet in the Gobi desert for all I care, since you're not inside you.

Round two will be held inside the stronghold itself. You'll probably encounter some guards depending on the way you chose to go in. For instance, you'll hit lots of guards if you fight in through the front gates, a good amount if you hit the loading docks, and only a few if you can find a side door to sneak in.

The stronghold is built of stone and brick, and while it has a few above-ground floors, it is mainly subterranian. There is one spire, however, that rises above the ground and the other floors, and this is where Rim is. You can't get up there yet, since the guards are out this time of day and there are too many to take alone. You are free to wander the upper floors or venture below if you feel you should scrounge for supplies.

Rim's design is coming soon. He seems to know you are in the building but isn't doing anything about it yet.

Guards do not wear a specific uniform, but all have a tattoo. It is a seven-pointed star, not in one certain place, but usually on a cheek, sometimes the forehead or jaw.

Supplies that ARE in the stronghold:

Dried food products
Ammunition for handguns, rifles, and cannons
Small beer, due to possibly contaminated water
Medical wrappings
Small quantities of gasoline and diesel
Fairly recent newspapers and magazines
Some extra clothing - unisex and mens ONLY

Large ammounts of gasoline
Fresh fruits and candies
Specialty ammunition

First, the movies. And starting off with the more recent one...

REVIEW FOR 'THE PINK PANTHER 2'

Yesterday, my parents and I went to see 'The Pink Panther 2'. I must admit, I wasn't really surprised by it. I knew it was going to be basically the same plot as the first one: thin mystery drenched in Steve Martin-gags like a half-waffle with a gallon of syrup. Not that this is bad: Martin is funny as usual. I wished that they would prove me wrong and show off a smart plot with humor lining the edges, but no. Don't get me wrong, it's a good movie: it's just rather predictable.

Now for the breakdowns...

PLOT:
Rather weak. Predictable, as I mentioned earlier. This movie is really just a fan-pleaser.

OPENING ANIMATIOM:
I have to do something on this. Both the Pink Panther films (the newer ones, not the originals) had opening animations featuring the Panther himself. (Did you know he only spoke in two of the original TV episodes? British accent.) The first one was a witty little thing that reminded me very much of how the old cartoons were, but the new one is a bit different. The animation looked very clean, yet bouncy and buoyant. It really didn't look like the original cartoons, but that's okay because it was very cute in its own way. A little note: I liked how the Panther came back at the end of the film to finish off the movie Roger-Rabbit style, closing the doors and winking.

HUMOR:
Martin is always funny. This was a bit disappointing because it was really only him getting into situations and being silly, but it was still pretty funny.

SOUNDTRACK:
I didn't really notice this bit. Nothing special grabs you, really, it's much like the first one.

OVERALL:
It's a nice film. Could have been better; could have been FAR better, but it's still something you should see for a good laugh. Not an amazing flick by any means, but still worth the time.

REVIEW FOR 'CORALINE'

Burton is back again, folks. Time to break out your Skellington hats and Corpse Bride hoodies, hardcore fans...

Wait! This movie isn't just for hardcore fans.

I liked Corpse Bride. I never watched Nightmare Before Christmas. I am, by no means, a Tim Burton fan, simply because I haven't seen enough of him. I went to see this movie with a friend (and found 2 more there, so went with 3, actually) and got in a tad late...

It doesn't matter. I still loved it.

Specifics...

PLOT:
A gritty, dark plot with vivid colors! It's based on a novella, so I guess I'll have to read that now. Visually, most things are either bright and colorful or dark and drab, which is just what this movie's plot calls for. I must admit that I jumped a few times at the mother, and that I 'aww'ed at the mice. It's pretty, disturbing, cute, and sensitive all at once. I only had one complaint, and that's that the ghost children's lines were pretty odd to listen to.

HUMOR:
Not too much of this, but not too little. I really can't say a lot about this because it's too early and I've seen another movie since.

SOUNDTRACK:
I LOVE Coraline's soundtrack. It's all that it needs to be, and you could listen to it even without the movie and still love it.

OVERALL:
This was a very good movie. If you haven't seen it, I suggest you do.

REVIEW FOR 'BLEACH':

I admit. I've never read or watched Bleach before today. I didn't wat to. It was too popular. Some of my friends like it, so I picked up volume one at Wal-Mart and tried it out...

I like the art style. Oruhime's annoying. It's probably popular for a reason. I can't say much about it beucase I know next to nothing about it, so I'll just say it's a nice series, I wanted to read 'Zombie Powder' more, and move on...

TECH REVIEWS:

For Christmas, I got an iPod Nano. 5th generation. We got it for free, somehow, so the price isn't in this review. It's a nice little machine: it has problems more than my other MP3's have had, but they're easier to fix and puching the restart button actually WORKS. The batter life is pretty short, but that's not so bad because it's fully charged in about 3 hours. It can sense movement and tilting, so shaking it changes the song and turning it sideways turns on Cover Flow. I like it.

With it came the standard white earbuds. I usually don't like earbuds, but these were comfy. Unfortunately, I blew out the bass a few weeks ago, so I got a new pair of headphone yesterday (after usng my dad's pair for a bit). they're called EarPollution, and they're red/black. 1. I've played the piano since I was 2, sang since age 6, and played the Horn starting at 10. I like the horn best, with piano as a very close second.

2. I did try to read Twilight. That's something I regret dearly.

3. I'm into orchestral, contemporary classic, and soundtrack music. A good string ensemble or a nice horn bit makes my day.

4. I used to be athletic! Surprise? I was actually tall for my age and good at softball back in 4th grade or so... Unfortunately I stopped growing and never used the ability.

5. I was for Obama. I'm getting tired of all these people saying he'll be terrible and what-not because his middle name is Hussein. That's like discriminating against a person whose last name is Hitler or Stalin.

REVIEWS:

VALKYRIE: Dad and I went to see Valkyrie a day or two ago. The critics I heard said it wasn't half bad, but Rachel's mom said she heard it wasn't so good. Maybe she's just paranoid, but I saw it the other way. I loved this movie. It's one of the few recent films I've seen that made my heart pound like I would get caught along with Claus. The scene with the bomb planting was wonderfully suspensefull and it was pretty historically accurate. I loved how the story was so intricate that, up until the end, only the audience knew the whole story. Also, the execution was awesome. Claus's last words were the final cry for human morals. Overall a 9 of 10, but it may deserve a 10. I hate giving perfect scores.

Now for the next:

GALLAGHER:

We saw his show at the Rosebud on New Year's Eve. He was pretty explicit and quite raunchy, but it was very funny. Unfortunately, he didn't use any props at this show, but he did use audience members. 2 hours, and overall I give it a 7 of 10. Maybe not someone I'd go see again, but I liked the show nonetheless.

I had a good Christmas.At the end of the day I had made off with one iPod nano, one silver and mother-of-pearl pocketwatch, several art suplies, a shirt, two pairs of fuzzy socks, some books, a few DVDs from Blockbuster, and one viewing of the Spirit, which brings me to my first review...

REVIEW OF THE SPIRIT!

When I saw the trailer for this, I wanted to see it. Then I read the reviews. According to America's top film critics, the movie wasn't very good.

They were right. But did I listen to them?

Noooo...

So on Christmas the family went to see The Spirit. I was utterly disappointed. The camera technigue, concept, and Samuel L. Jackson were very good, almost briliant. Oh, and the henchmen. They were very funny. But other than that, it sucked. The dialouge was cheesy at best, the hero was a weak character, and the plot was screwy. The humor was only funny when you saw how badly they acted and then you were laughing because you were embarrased to be in the theatre. I can see now why we were the only ones in the room. I give it 4 of 10.

Let's not dwell on that...

REVIEW OF AMURI IN STAR OCEAN!

I heard this was pretty good from a person I know on MSMF. She was right, to an extent.

Amuri in Star Ocean earns points in my book for being completely 3D. It's hard to make an OVA that way and do it well. Here's the short synapsis:

It's the year 019 of the New Age and Amuri is being transported (either in or to) the spaceship Pink Corral. It's blown up by space pirates and she is ejected into space where she bounces into a floating water thing... what?

You'd have to see it to understand.

I was disappointed with the humor: some serieses just need to have either a small amount or no humor. You'll say: Well, Amuri doesn't have much humor! Yeah, but there's a ratio to be uopheld: Ghost Hound and Amuri have about the same number of humouous thing, and that would be okay if they were the same length. But they're not. Ghost Hound is 24 or 26 episodes long and Amuri is 3. Tone it down, this is one of those concepts best left without it.

I was also bothered by all the squeaky-voiced 'moe' girls: then again, that's just me. Don't worry. The costume design was brilliant, but the character design was only mediocre. Characters need to be seperate and individual entities from the very start: near the beginning, all the Adapters are prettymuch the same. Yeah, they grow personalities near the middle, but that's a bit too late. Still ,there's points to be saved this way. All in all, I give Amuri 7 of 10.

R%EVIEW FOR KUNG FU PANDA!

I watched this this morning. I love this movie. It's about a panda who becomes a lagendary hero. You all know that, right?

The scenery and soundtrack were amazing, the characters are all very vivid, and the plot is strong. I give it 9 of 10.

01. What is your pen name?
Acid Cat, Mineshaft, MonsterTwin.

02. What made you choose this name?
They're all pretty random: AC was going to be a character but ended up a name, Mineshaft is a common object that nobody used for a name, and I like Monsters. (But I'm not a Twin.)

03. Do you use PC or Mac?
PC, Windows XP

04. What programs do you use most often?
Traditional, generally, but I also use Photoshop 7.0.1.

05. Do you use mouse, or tablet?
Pencil, 4H-HB, never any darker, and tablet.

06. What color or color combination's do you find yourself using most often?
Blues, browns, and silvers. I don't use green often, and I nearly never use orange.


07. What part of a picture do you put most effort into?
The layout!

09. Do you keep your rough drafts?
Nope. I usually don't switch papers for a finished work.

10. What font do you use most often?
ToySoldiers (I can't remember who it's by), Birth of a Hero, Arial

11. When you scan your image, what DPI do you use?
If it's in pencil, it has to be 300 or so just because it's so pale. If it's ink I usually leave it at 100 so the blemishes of the paper won't show up as well.


12. Do you do anything else when you're drawing?
Music.


13. Approximately how many pictures do you draw in a month?
Lots, I'll bet.

14. What kind of paper do you draw your pictures on?
Depends. Sometimes I use any old sketch pad, sometimes it's Bristol paper.

15. What kind of paper do you use for rough sketches and drafts?
None in particular. Generally if I start on sketch paper it ends on sketch paper, I don't switch media often.

16. How long does it take you to ink something?
Not lnog, usually. 5 to 10 minutes, tops.

17. Do you do comics, or fan comics?
Comics. I write Final F, Bull Story, and Prevamp (Prevamp is actually going to be drawn by Cohoro.)

18. Do you like comics? Are they fun to make?
Uh-huh. I'm a big slacker, though.

19. Have you ever submitted anything to a magazine?
Nah.

21. Who are your favorite artists?
Several people: I like Staraquil's style and humor, Jan's abstract, AWEK's digital, ect.

I like it, yes. My favorites are Rave Master, Ghost Hound, Kamen No Maid Guy, Elemental Gelade, Keroro Gunsou, Et Cetera, Toto!, Firefighter!, and Gunblaze West.

Yeah. I like SRMTHFG!, Ben Ten, Skunk Fu (of all things), and a couple others...

I wish I could paint like Jan. I can't paint to save my life.

Generally.

A few monsters and machines books, also some how to draw manga when I was younger.

In this world, there are all kinds of people. There are those who will protect you regardless of who you are, and there are those who will stab you in the back without the slightest twinge of regret. Rim is one of the people that fall into group two: he is merciless, unscupulous, and all around nasty. This shady character runs the biggest criminal enterprise in the world: his ring of monsters, theives, and con-men spreads through the earth like a plague. From his hideout he can control the outcome of any roll of any die.

And that's the problem.

You have decided to put a stop to that. But which side are you on? Are you the hero the earth needs, the one to end Rim's reign of terror once and for all? Or are you looking to transfer that power into better hands: namely, YOURS. Here's where we find that out!

THE RULES:
1. You can enter single or partner up and collab with somebody. No single player will be put up against a collab group until it comes to just the last two: then you duke it out.

2. You can enter with fics or comics. I don't care. Please note that comics will probably be more weighty in score.

3. You can trade collabers in between matches if you want.

HOW IT WORKS:
You will either stay as a loner (hero or villain) or join up (hero/villain mixes might not be so good here). You will be paired off with your opponent: somebody who stands in the way of you getting to Rim. I will likely put a hero against a villain, if possible. At the final round, either the collabers will split and let one do the work or the single will find a partner.

Please note this is just the rough idea so far, so if you want to help me, comment, and it you're interested, then comment too!

[03] Abortion: for or against it? I'd like to say neutral, but I am for it in cartain cases. If you just don't want a baby, then have it and then give it to a couple that wants one. If the doctors say it'll be born with handicaps and live in pain or if you and the baby will die in birth, have an abortion and save a lot of trouble.

GOOD: I got a new computer! Well, new-used. Dad and I salvaged parts from some of the old school computers that were no longer in use and built a new machine! It's got Photoshop versions 6 and 7, Adobe Pagemaker, Microsoft Visio, Nero, VLC media player, and Mabinogi. And it's an XP~ No more Windows 98 for meeee!

GOOD: Lex and Kendal and I were translating things into one language and back into English at the library yesterday. Lex wrote 'I am a pickle' in Chinese and it came back 'I am the salt juice'. XDDD

GOOD: The scanner works! Woo-hoo!

GOOD: Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long blog!

BAD: Adobe Pagemaker doesn't play well with others. I'm trying to use it to make my panels for Angel City and it saves the documents as its own little file type. There's an option to export it as a PDF but my machine can't handle that. So I tried to print it out and then draw the rough, scan it and then Shop it, but my dad's computer upstairs, the one hooked up to the printers, can't recognise the files from downstairs and can't open them to print upstairs. GRR.

I just read the Holmes on the Range series by Steve Hockensmith and it ROCKED. Funny, smart, everything good. But there's one bad thing: I can't find any fellow fans. No fanart, no fanfics, no nothing. Et Cetera has more Deviants following it than this (then again, it is only 3 books and 3 years old). If anybody knows this series, please tell me. I at least want to know if I'm not the only person who likes it. If you haven't read it,(which is probably the case) go do that.

Also, at graduation, all the awards went to girls except the one that HAD to go to a boy because that's what the founder had entailed for it to be. The boys in our class aren't the sharpest tools in the box.

It rained. And rained. Oh, and rained some more. It rained so much that the day it rained the weather service announced at 5 in the afternoon that we had a flash flood warning going until 9 AM TWO DAYS LATER. Places are still flooded and the roads were out all over the area.

But it was fun.

Staraquil: I'm sorry your request is taking so long. I messed up on Raaku BIG TIME (as in I used white out on his FACE and then scratched away the paper so there's a big hole in it and now I have to rework it with Photoshop or give up, call it dead, and start again [I WILL NOT ADMIT DEFEAT]) but it'll be done soon, I hope. IT'S COLD. And the inevitable happened today in the bangd concert we had. I play French Horn, and mine is a pain in the butt. I was trying and trying to empty the spit valve (which involves taking out the mouthpiece, turning the horn over, and praying that it doesn't empty out the bell because then you'd have to stick your hand in it) during practice and after we performed I set it on my lap. Guess what?

Involuntary spit valve cleaning. I went out my still-attached mouthpiece and almost onto first chair trumpet's foot. I am, by the way, first chair French Horn.

Dad and I looked down all the halls and one of the vendors had those big spinny things that you put outside your house. They make me dizzy~ They had them at the end of the hall in the last wing we looked in. Then we spent 15 minutes trying to figure out where we parked and another 5 sliding around in the parking lot.
