if you don't know what an OC session is, it's where 2 or more people draw on the same canvas in Open Canvas 1.1, like paintchat except it doesn't screw up as much.

hamachi is needed to make a good connection. i'll walk you through the process (granted i can remember how to do it since i haven't done an OC session in like months HEE).

IT'S THE SEXIEST PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY EVER
i was like dsifhsdiufysdyf when i saw it...it's enormous. 21 inches sounds big but this thing is GIGANTIC. twice as big as it looks online. and despite the fact that i spent an extra hour setting it up because i couldn't figure out how to make it my main monitor, I LOVE IT TO DEATH ALREADY.
it's soooo much more natural than regular tablet drawing. i never got used to drawing with a tablet, even though i've been through 3 of them in the past 6 years. so now i can have all the wonders of digital art with the feel of traditional art. i wish my internet was working so i could do OC sessions and livestreams with it ;;

oh yeah and sims looks horrible on it lol oh well.

mostly i'm just glad that all the actors were so good and that whoever did the casting actually put effort into finding people who were perfect for the roles instead of actors who were well known. cue huge sigh of relief that adam sandler and leonardo dicaprio weren't cast. though i am kind of sad tim roth didn't get a part :c oh well.
anyway i just want to take a minute to gush over cristoph waltz. WHAT A GUY. man, he was so god damn perfect for his role. i mean for fuck's sake the guy speaks 4 different languages throughout the entire movie PERFECTLY and he is such a despicable character but he remains such a nice guy through it all...gsdkfdfksd i loved to hate him.
and now i want to take another minute to gush over eli roth. ELI ROTH I LOVE YOU PLEASE TAKE ME AWAY ON YOUR VALIANT WHITE STEED. even if you did ruin my life with Hostel, i just...Q__Q i can't stay mad at him, no matter how many bad torture movies he makes. i love eli roth. I LUV HIM TOO MUCH. I AM AN ELI ROTH CREEPY STALKER FANGIRL. and he was sooo...mesmerizing in this movie kekekeke. everytime he beat someone to death with a bat or gunned them down, i swooned. oh, siiiigh.
so overall yeah pretty fucking amazing. the only criticisms i would have (because i am a totally credible film critic AHURRR) is that some scenes dragged on too long, and not in the Tarantino-long kind of way, but more like the ok-lets-get-back-to-the-nazi-killing-please way. and some of the antagonists are set up to do horrible things and you just KNOW that they're going to get some sort of awesome revenge put down on them...aaaaand it never really comes. but seriously this movie is way too fun to worry about that stuff. people need to stop being such connoisseurs and start enjoying movies more fuckn seriously.

big lol at the people who couldn't find mike meyers in the movie. at the end, when people were leaving the theatre, people were like "i heard mike meyers was in this. were was he?" IT'S KIND OF OBVIOUS YOU GUYS. sometimes, you guys. sometimes.
also like at least 70% of the people in my theatre were really old. i find that super cool.

start with black and white and then add colour later. it helps get those values right. and don't be like me and not bring in those white whites and black blacks. THE WORLD IS NOT NEUTRAL GRAY.

i don't think words can properly describe how the simple fact that this band exists makes me so eternally rage filled.
my sister introduced me to them because she asked me what band i had listened to had the dirtiest lyrics, and then she said "NO I BET BLOOD ON THE DANCE FLOOR HAS DIRTIER LYRICS." and i looked up the lyrics...and was unimpressed, but decided to listen to them anyway and i just...a large part of me died that day. it was replaced with pure anger and sadness. one day, i will be exposed to so many horrible, horrible things that my entire body will become atrophied with rage and i will turn into a giant, burning comet of hate and i will destroy everyone on the planet but rolling around and killing everyone like a flaming katamari of fury.

SECONDLY last night i noticed this lump behind my molar on the left side of my mouth, like where a wisdom tooth would grow in (though i had mine removed in december.) it hurt last night, but not anymore, and it's not really soft or squishy or hard, and it has a little white hole on top. i googled it, but all i got were JAW TUMORS AND GUM ABSCESSES and i'll see if it goes away on its own before going to the dentist, but i was just wondering if anyone knows what it is or has encountered something similar :T i don't think i can take anymore traumatic oral surgery.}

^{howdy! there are still quite a few people who i owe trades to (i haven't forgotten, srsly!), and i am unfortunately going to have to put those on hold for juuust a little longer. you can check the progress of them in my dev id section.
you see, the reason is i want to focus on making some art for this art show coming up on may 12. i've never participated in an art show before, so i kind of want to spent a lot of time on some traditional painting and making some digital prints for it. i just found out about it today, hence why i have no choice except to work on it only a couple weeks before the show. i'm very excited for the show, because i am planning on doing some grotesque/anatomy related artwork. if you saw the art here you'd understand. it's ALLLL mountains or wolves or flowers. it's not that these artists aren't technically competent, because they are, but you can only see so many oil paintings of mountains before it begins to get a little boring. not very many artists who publicly display their work here are...alternative. thinking outside the box. or under 50, i think. the ones that are don't put their work up in public galleries like this, so i hope that by showing my work i can inspire younger artists to get out there, or at least for people to stop painting fucking mountains.
i remember one instance a couple years back where this girl rented a whole gallery for her artwork, and one guy came to see it and went batshit and tore some of it down. i did see the gallery, apparently he had flipped out about this satan-like character with his penor hanging out, which made me LOL. but i thought it was totally cool that her art could stir such strong emotions that someone would actually want to vandalize her work. nothing really interesting has happened since then.

so that's basically it. wish me luck P:

^{let me start by telling you how much i hated this movie. i hated this movie so much, i would punch a nun to make it cease to exist. i hated this movie so much that it made me want to strangle michael bay to death (not that the unborn and the texas chainsaw massacre: the beginning and the hitcher and transformers and nightmare on elm street didn't). i hated this movie so much that after i got out, i punched everyone in the theatre. i hated this movie so much that it made me realize wolf creek wasn't such a bad movie after all.

seriously, this movie was just...omg...i have never wanted to walk out of a movie before. god, I SAT THROUGH THE UNBORN YOU GUYS. I DID NOT MOVE FROM MY SEAT WHILE WATCHING THE COVENANT. it takes a lot for me to want to just ditch and this movie did it. i wonder why they just didn't make friday the 13th: part XVII.
so first off, this movie is so fucking boring. you want to know what's more fun that watching this movie? watching paint dry while listening to dave matthews band. every single moment of it is soooo dull. even when people are running from jason, QUITE POSSIBLY THE SCARIEST HORROR ICON EVER, you're yawning. i want to bale out at the director of photography and then stab him in the face with a golden rod forged from my pure fury and hatred.
now, this is the part that pissed me off the most. in at least 4 instances, there is a person near a piece of heavy machinery with spinning blades. a wood chipper, a boat propeller, a table saw, and some kind of generator thing with spikes i dunno. anyway, the camera focuses in on this object and gives it this foreboding sense of "oh man someone's gonna get a face full of table saw." and then you know what happens? THEY GET STABBED IN THE NECK INSTEAD. i was like omg...you can't be serious. what a waste of a good wood chipper.

the most boring and uncreative deaths i have ever seen in a movie. you couldn't even see half of them because they were so quick or they were too dark. uh, hello, THIS IS A SLASHER MOVIE. BLOOD AND GUTS SHOULD BE THE LAST THING YOU WANT TO OBSCURE. holy shit. i can't believe i paid to see this movie.
speaking of people getting fucked, there was so much sex and tits in this movie it hurt. slashers, especially teen slashers, should have a fair amount of boobage and maybe some bumping uglies here and there, but seriously, you should never have that many jugs in your face unless you bottle milk for a living. ugh. the sex severely outweighed the violence, and it was totally pointless. IE: NO ONE DIED DURING SEX. when is someone going to take the hint and start killing people during sex? that's the greatest.
another thing that made me want to rip my brain out through the hole in my neck i would inevitably make with a dull knife, is that you were forced to hate pretty much all the characters. i think only two didn't make me rage right there in the theatre: jared padalecki's character and the little asian guy. that was about it. i wanted every other person to die slowly and horribly because they were portrayed to just get on your nerves and piss you off. tactic successful.
the only, ONLYYYY good things about this movie were that it's the only movie i've seen where jared doesn't play a total douchebag (though they did make him ride a little putt putt dinky motorcycle) and jason was portrayed pretty well. they picked the PERFECT guy to play him. dude looks like a serial killer even when he doesn't try to.
otherwise, it was awful and i wish i could take back the time i took to see it and the subsequent rage induced homicides that will surely follow.
also, STOP MAKING MOVIES WITH SETH ROGAN AND/OR MALL COPS AND/OR SETH ROGAN AS A MALL COP. NOT FUNNY.

i leave you on a good note. if you want to watch a good slasher movie, watch Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon. it blew my mind, dudes. what was left of it.}

^{so this morning i woke up around 5:00 to the sound of a loud bang that sounded like a gunshot, followed by another bang and a bright flash of light. my window faces the street so i started freaking out. my first three thoughts were: BOMBS GUNS ALIENS.
outside, there's a whole swat team and police cars in the street. AS IT TURNS OUT, the house across the street and down one (so diagonal from my house) was raided and 3 people were arrested for drug trafficking (coke, ecstasy, shrooms). they also found assault rifles, stolen property and a whole shitload of stuff that sounds like the uni-bomber's wet dream. the bang and flash i saw was the swat team firing a smoke bomb into the house. the front windows were blown out.

oh btw i live in a really nice neighborhood right next to a golf course full of old people that walk their tiny dogs and shit. so this was kinda funny.

i'm really only worried about the wind, mostly. i have a long walk between two of my classes and the wind gets reaaaaaaaalllyyyyyy bad. last spring semester, i couldn't even get to one of my classes because i kept falling over. in retrospect it was hilarious.

ANYWAY i'm taking sociology, political philosophy, and nutrition. my nutrition class is from 7:00-9:45 P.M. on thursdays. I'M GOING TO FUCKING FALL ASLEEP and also going to have to DVR supernatural.

^{first off let me start by saying I FUCKN LOVED THIS MOVIE. which i never thought i'd hear myself say about a remake. omg dudes, it was so awesome, short and sweet, GO SEE IT NOW. AND IF YOUR THEATRE ISN'T PLAYING IT IN 3D MAKE A 5 HOUR DRIVE TO THE NEAREST ONE THAT IS.

the thing i love about it is that it doesn't try to be anything it's not. it's fun, it's gory, and it really embraces the campiness of the 70's and 80's slasher films, which most modern horror films are lacking. instead of worrying about how good their CGI is or adding that fucking pale blue colour scheme over everything (looking at you, unborn) they just worry about delivering creative kills and entertaining the audience.

but all that aside, it's just a super fun movie. the 3D is SO FUCKING COOL and it really opens a whole new doorway to the movie going experience. it's not even like watching a movie, it's more like riding one of those dark rides at a carnival. there is nothing better than watching someone's eye get popped out of their head with a pick axe in 3D. the gore is so fantastic and pretty funny. it's not realistic at all, and that leaves a lot of room for more creativity. you don't find yourself going "wait, that could never happen," you find yourself going "HO SHIT DID YOU SEE THAT THAT WAS FUCKING AWESOMEEEEEEEEEE." so yeah, you definitely do NOT want to see it in 2D. you're missing out on the best parts of the entire thing.

the acting was passable. i mean, there's not much to it except screaming and running and shit. it's a slasher film, why would you care about the acting? jensen was good...mmmm...you never think that guy could get any hotter, and then you see him in 3D.

i don't have anything really negative to say about it. the beginning was so awesome and chocked full of gore, the rest of it seems to just slow down a bit, but that doesn't really take away from anything. if anyone's wondering how the 3D sex/boob combo looked, it was uh...well, it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be, but a 3D vagina isn't something i really wanted to have drilled into my eyes. and i was bummed because the dude in the scene was not jensen and therefore it was not hot. also, no one died during sex. i love it when people die during a sex scene. i LOL every time.

one last thing that i really liked is that they changed the ending, for the better in my opinion. so even if you've seen the original, you're in for a surprise again.

all in all, it's a great movie that embraces every slasher cliche' and moment of ridiculousness, and is a unique and super fun movie going experience. just make sure you sit in front of someone who won't kick your seat throughout the entire thing. ugh, whoever that was, I WILL FIND YOU.

as for the previews, you'll see crank 2 (yawn. jason statham is quickly becoming my least favourite person in the world), last house on the left (again, if you saw the unborn. i don't know what it is about it, but every time i watch the trailer i want to see it more), and a haunting in connecticut. lmao, when the trailer started, i thought it was a movie adaption of The Right Hand of Evil, one of my favourite books. and i SQUEE'D but then realized it wasn't. it's actually based on a true story that i watched on the discovery channel once. seems like just another run of the mill teen horror flick, but it has demon possessed teenage guys so SIGH my disposition forces me to go see it.}

ok, so it starts out pretty good. i was surprised because they start off with spookiness right from the get go, don't waste anytime. so i was like "oh ok, that's pretty cool" and it was actually working its way uphill and looking like a pretty decent movie.
and then comes the part when a bulk of the plot is explained.
AND IT ALL WENT DOWN HILL FROM THERE.
the plot makes absolutely no sense. and when i say absolutely no sense i mean absolutely no sense. you think it's going one way, but then they totally decide to change it, and not in the "omg what a twist" way, the "the writers just kind of decided to change the entire course of the movie" way. yeah, the whole "my unborn twin wants to be born now" tag you keep hearing? completely plot irrelevant. the dead twin isn't even a character in the movie, DESPITE the fact that the entire first half is all about how the twin wants to be born, and even the possessing spirit that IS the evil looking little boy SAYS IT MULTIPLE TIMES.
the acting? abysmal. it made me literally cringe a couple times. the only decent performances were given by minor characters or gary oldman. dialog? equally as horrible. it's not realistic and the characters are occasionally blessed with a sudden realization that moves the plot forward. "hay, there's no evidence that i've come across that would lead me to this conclusion, but i'm going to go with it anyway. wow, it turned out to be true. what a coincidence!" and most of the times i was just going like "...what?" because the dialog was just...totally and utterly pointless.

EVEN MR. WHEEL OF FORTUNE HEAD MAN WASN'T COOL ok, he was cool, but the CG when his head was turning is so god awful. i don't know how they made it look good in the trailer but it seriously looks soooo bad. it was kind of awesome to see him crawling around with his head all screwed up, but that part only lasted for a minute or two. AND THEN THE DUDE IS FINE. his fucking SPINE BREAKS AND HIS HEAD DOES A COMPLETE 360 ON HIS NECK AND HE'S TOTALLY FINE. the dogs were kind of spooky too, but they weren't in it much either.
while we're on the subject of scares, this movie didn't have a lot of them. it had a scary atmosphere with no pay off. and the scary things that DO happen are jump scares, which i hate because they're taking advantage of people's involuntary response to stimulus instead of actually making them scared. this movie also had a LOT of potato bugs in it. it's like, everytime you saw a potato bug, you figured something scary was going to happen. WHY POTATO BUGS i'll never know, i guess just for grossness factor. they had nothing to do with the plot either.

even the exorcism scene wasn't cool. DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO MAKE AN EXORCISM SCENE NOT COOL it's really hard, folks. besides that, the entire movie was riddled with plot holes. SUCH AS: the "monster" of the movie, basically a really angry dead kid killed by nazis just because they poked him in the eye, manages to possess at least 6 different people throughout the whole movie, and yet can't possess the leading girl. and yet it's not possessing her, but they perform an exorcism anyway. but she's not really possessed anyway, she's "haunted." but the demon child isn't even IN HER and yet she's still getting steadily "haunted/possessed/annoyed" and oh my god who wrote this shit.

so, all in all, it's awful. and i'm very tolerant of films. i liked ghost rider.

BUT ON THE UPSIDE the previews were pretty good. first one was Fighter, which looks like a pussy version of Fight Club. second one was Last House on the Left, which despite it being a remake, looks kinda good. but i'm unfairly biased towards revenge stories. and the last one was this movie called Miss March, which i wouldn't have any interest in if it didn't have zach cregger and trevor moore in it. YEAH THE WHITEST KIDS U KNOW ARE IN A MOVVVIIEEEE AND IT'S WRITTEN AND DIRECTED BY THEM TOO omg i was laughing so hard at the trailer alone. it's like a dream come TRUUUUEEEEEEE 13TH OF MARCH GOIN ON MY CALENDAR.}
