I want to thank everyone for their kind words to my last journal. Things are still rough, but are getting better. We managed to get our sewer fixed and the car working again. We're now broke, but at least we had the money cover it. The freezer is dead, but we can manage without one for a while. One of the kids is still sick, but everyone else is on the mend and we're hopeful to be fully well in the next few days. Of course there are other things that need tending to, but we're making our way through it all.

What criteria is used that sets one piece apart from another?

First, it should be noted that I am of the belief that all emoticons are art. I feel a level of skill is needed to make them, and even a simple static emote is creative. Sure, it may not be high-art, such as a child's sketch is not a Mona Lisa. But there is still effort behind it and that's important. Yeah, that has been my life the last week and a bit. Our house got hit by a flu bug so fierce two of our kids ended up in the E.R, and one is only now recovering after a week and a half of nasty.  On top of that, our sewer backed up and we had issues with that. :bulletblue: Well, we're slowly on the mend, but baby ended up with RSV.  Thankfully he was able to be treated at home instead of the hospital, but it's been crazy trying to give him treatment with the nebulizer (he does NOT like it), and just juggling the other sick kids. The illness has triggered a string of migraines in me which are kicking my butt, on top of giving me vertigo. Just a quick heads-up, but I'm in a pretty full-fledged depression now. I really have been pushing very hard to stay positive and (I think) have managed well the past month or two, but a few things have happened over the last week that have sent me on the spiral. :saddummy: Feeling a bit blue. Life has been rough. Money's tight because of baby as well as an unexpected vet bill for one of our kittens who ended up very sick (and please don't mention my commissions--most were paid for long ago and with money specially set aside for that purpose). Still a backlog of art. Lots of household cleaning and projects to do. A mountain of laundry. You'd all be blind not to notice that purple banner on the top of your screen.  It's Spirit Day. This is a day close to my heart. As a teen, I dropped out of high school due to bullying. Due to bullying, I ended up ill in the hospital from stress. I was beaten up and spit on. I sat at lunch alone for years. Why? Because I dressed differently? I didn't want to be in the cliques? Because I was friends with the other kids everyone picked on and refused to do the same?  To this day I don't 100% know.

:heart: Well, the babymoon is coming to an end. Baby and I are home and settling in.  I must say, the whole birth thing was a harrowing experience as I started labor Thursday night, finally felt it was "true labor" enough Saturday morning to go to the hospital--only to be turned away because the doctor felt "nothing much" was happening.
