I want to talk to you today about Derren Brown. There's something quite remarkable about this man, not least that he can make you think things without you noticing. What a genius, he can make things happen seemingly by coincidence, and then show you that he had it planned out all along.

Go and look at his street magic or live stage shows on Youtube. He's even more amazing in those than in his more elaborate tricks on his television specials (although he doesn't seem to go in for the awful Copperfield kind of magic acts, thank god).

He has a deliciously viscious sense of humour if you pay attention, though he's never cruel to the people he uses in his tricks (unlike other street magicians *cough*Angel*cough*Powers*cough*). He's gorgeous and charming and totally adorable when he does his little Uri Geller impressions "My feengers are... bhending. Everybody, one two three... bhending! *nods*" (I admit to watching that little clip of the video at least 10 times over in the last 5 minutes, and giggling my arse off).

... and I'm certain that he sends out subliminal messages in his videos/tv appearences to make every female member of the audience want to sleep with him. I know it's working on me!

And that is pretty much all that my life is about right now; figuring out a way to somehow study/work in the UK so I can meet Derren Brown/David Tennant and have them magically fall in love with me. I can dream, Jim...

I stayed at my friend's house on Saturday night, the party animal that I am, and decided at about 1am that it would be a good time to start watching the 9 hour-long episodes of KWP. So I proceeded to do so... at great annoyance to the other people in the room, so I was promptly booted into my mate's bedroom where I sat in various states of unrest, reportedly whispering angrily "Just feckin' KISS HER!" and beating the bed behind me in anger. I was then booted off again, without having seen episodes 8 or 9, PLEASE DON'T tell me what happens, I will never forgive you, because I can't watch it for at least another week or so...

So I went home, oddly thought I could survive the day without sleep (if ~b-jAi can do it, why can't I?)... and fell asleep at about 3pm. So I woke up to the sounds of the Weather Channel (my mother's deaf, so she just turns the TV on and leaves it at whatever volume it's on... and the WC is her FAVOURITE channel... god knows why...), and got up to close the door... when... I jammed my toe under it. In my sleep deprived state, my brain thought "Oh, no problem, just lift your foot and yank it out fast"... *CRUNCH*

Needless to say, my sleep last night was not an easy one.

In other news, I started back at uni today. I'm learning Japanese~ After being in Japan, I caught the bug, and I want to go over there to teach! So I figure... I can't go over there and have one of the ARASHI boys fall in love with me unless I can speak to them, now can I? So I need to learn the language! That, coupled with French and Lingustics, means I'm gonna have a hectic year of study ahead of me. Who knows, maybe this year I won't fail my subjects!! XD

I hope everyone is doing ok... it's been a while since I've heard from people... I'd go to more things this year, Manifest and OzTAKU like, but... I don't think I'll have the time... and Comfest is coming soon... man do I need a job FAST.

All in all, it's been an hectic but great trip. We've met some AWESOME people and some absolute shits. We've had fantastic experiences and some downright depressing ones. But, you know what? I've grown up a fair bit in the time I've been here. Which is a pretty good effort!

Tomorrow we're off to Singapore for a few days, and then it's home sweet home. I can't wait. All the Christmas decorations are up here and it makes me miss it with my family. I really just wanna put on my old Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters Chrissy record, and chill out while I cook. But I can't do that HERE! XD

I've been told a lot about the bushfires at home, which I'm not looking forward to. At least over here it's lovely and rainy. Not the kind of weather you want to be dragging luggage around in though!! >.<*

Hope everyone's going well. I guess I'll see some of you soon. I wish the OzTAKU beach meet was nearer my birhtday so I could hang out with you guys, but in true Mishka's birthday style, it will be swept under the rug with Christmas time again this year. *sigh*

Wow! Has it been hectic or what?! Seriously guys, answer my question!!

I'm in Tokyo atm, and today we're heading off to the Studio Ghibli Museum in the countryside... Miyazaki wants the forest to be kept clean and pristine, so what does he do? Builds a bloody great themepark in the middle of it.

I found a quiet place in Tokyo. An actual QUIET place! No music pumping from nearby shops, hardly any car noise... I could actually HEAR THE BIRDS! It was so beautiful. I think it was all the more beautiful because it reminded me of what I take for granted back home.

In other news, this weekend Tim and I are leaving Romesh and James behind and heading down to Ise to spend the weekend with Kaaru, an OzTAKUite who lives there. So yay! International OzTAKU meet, here I come!! I might even be able to try on an Imperial Kimono if he can organise it for us - 10kg and 12 layers of silk! o.O

I can't wait to head back to Kyoto though. It was so nice there, the streets are clean and the people are really nice. Tokyo's very friendly, but... the streets here are disgusting (almost as bad as Paris), and our hostel's right next to a homeless shelter. So... Mishka is scaredpants to leave the hostel at night. >.<

Isn't it amazing just how fast cancer can kill? Last year, she was bubbly and bright on the Spicks and Specks Christmas Special (A very Specky Christmas), and now she's gone. It's not often I care about celebrities dying - let's face it, we've never met them and we never knew what they were truly like - but this news is quite a shock to me personally.

Sure, she was in one of our worst television series' ever to disgrace our screens (Home and Away), and sure, she married Rove McManus (well, at least she was shorter than him! ... nah, I can't really say that, he's a little legend), but... her personality shone through that night I watched S&S, and I instantly liked her. She was full of fun and energy, and really, really enjoyed herself. It made my night so much more enjoyable - she was so small and cute!

One sad thing after another seems to be bestowed upon us poor Aussies at the moment - not just Steve, but one of our finest comedic exports (Lano and Woodley) is calling it a day after 20 years, and now Belinda. At least I had the privilege to see Lano and Woodley at their goodbye show last night (the first and last time I'll ever have the chance to), Mez and I even gave them a gift to say 'thanks for the laughs'. We gave them a portrait of each of them that Mez's dad was kind enough to sketch, which I hoped they liked. They didn't seem too enthusiatic about it (which bugged me), but they were surrounded by little pre- and just into-teens, so I can understand their mental anguish at that fact. >.< Fucking teenies.

So goodbye to a little but passionately bright light in our rich and diverse tapestry of Australian entertainment stars. Belinda Emmet was a sweet, kind woman who enjoyed her life. May we all learn from her example, and pay heed not to waste our lives not enjoying that which we do.

In other news, manifest was muchos fun, and I was gonna rant about how fun it was (despite the disorganisation), but I'm too tired... Suffice to say I met up with a few old friends I wasn't expecting to, and met up with a new friend (who's very much like me, only way more wholesome!). I had a good time. I even cosplayed. And actually wore a contact lense!! I mean... dude... I was meant to wear 2, but with one red one in, my blue eye could pass as green. X3

In other news, I'm going to Japan. No joke. Flights booked and insurance confirmed. So... Mishka-chau's one happy chappy right about now!

However, just when it got to one of the two Peter Allen songs I actually knew... the two women in the seats in front of me and my mum stood up and started dancing. Now, I don't mind this as a general rule, but when you do it in the most well-known song/part of the show, and totally BLOCK THE VIEW OF THE POOR PEOPLE SITTING BEHIND YOU WITH ABSOLUTELY NO REGARD TO THEM, then I get a bit pissy. In fact, I got downright mad. I was swearing at them (but they couldn't hear 'cause the music was so loud), I was flailing my arms around. Now, normally you'd just stand up so you could see the stage, right? Not me. I actually was considerate enough to think "No, if I do that, the little old ladies behind me won't be able to see, and that'll make me just as bad as the fucknuts in front of me". How nice I am.

And then they started doing the bows. Well, fuck this, I thought, and stood up.

No way was I going to miss out on seeing Hugh Jackman take his bow. Oh no. I wouldn't let that happen.

But you know what the sad part is? These women didn't even think about it. I mean, there was stuff going on at the bottom of the arena (it was at the Rod Laver arena/tennis centre, so the floor was also set up with chairs for people), and there were dancing pineapples and coconut trees, people dancing away to I Go To Rio... did these women think "Oh, there's stuff going on down there, maybe we should sit down so that the people in the rows behind us can see it"? No. They bopped away. THEY WEREN'T EVEN REALLY DANCING!!!!

Also, they were taking photographs. In the really emotional, moving parts. I mean, they're OBVIOUSLY deaf, 'cause they clearly didn't hear the announcement of "For the safety and privacy of our performers tonight, please don't use any photographic or recording device during the show". I mean, these women CERTAINLY wouldn't encroach upon someone else's PRIVACY or ENJOYMENT, would they? No! So the stupidly bright flashing that was going off in front of me, stopping me from properly seeing Hugh Jackman singing Tenterfield Saddler was MY IMAGINATION, RIGHT?!

Fucking yuppies.

I really do hate people.

And the worst part was, their stupidity really ruined a fantastic evening for me. I mean, I was in tears about it this morning... I'm probably never going to be able to see that show again, and they ruined the finale for me. Seriously. It's just fucking rude.

To console myself, however, I bought a Tshirt with I go to RIO on it. ^^ At least that's something those stupid women can't ruin for me.

I'm thinking of writing into MX with a nasty, pointed opinion piece aimed at them. It'd be funny if it actually got back to them. I don't know if they're worth my time though.

In other news... I'm dealing with muchos stress atm, so I really won't have time to do anything. Mouldy-chau, your comission is coming, but I don't know how long it will take. Gomen!

1) Mishka-chau enjoys talking about herself in third person, and does so as often as she can. In fact, this confuses people so much that most people don't actually know Mishka-chau's real name, and when she refers to herself using her real name, they think she's talking about someone else.
2) Mishka-chau can relate anything back to a Tripod song, and knows every lyric to every one of their songs (even the ones she doesn't like!). She has moved on from her obsessive fangirling stage, and feels free to criticise them (when they need it), but she'll always have a soft spot for them, 'cause they saved her life.
3) Mishka-chau is deathly afraid of spiders and anything that crawls. She'll pull back her covers every night before she gets into bed to make sure there's nothing there, and pulls her bed apart when she's staying in a hotel/unfamiliar bed, in case of bedbugs. However, she's not afraid of snakes or lizards, and hearts the gekkos that are all over Queensland...

Well, another few months have gone by. I couldn't stop them! (Eeeheehee, the Goon Show. I finally found someone my own age who actually knows about the Goon Show, not the Goonies. Big difference people!)

Anywho, I've been adjusting to uni, and have come across a dilemma already . . . what do you do if you have a crush on your lecturer? I mean, he's gotta be over 40, and married, and he's not gonna be interested in an 18 year old unless he's a dirty old man (yes, I'm a dirty girl for liking older guys, but hell, they come with experience! And a certain level of intelligence, for the most part). But still, I find myself drifting off in my lectures/tutes, because he's so awesome . . . and he's English!!! *self-professed accent whore*

In other uni-related news, I've also volunteered for the Manga Library, which is awesome-tastic. I'm only doing 6 contact hours a week, but the breaks in between are a killer, so I might as well do something constructive, ne?

Also, lets see. Well . . . yeah . . . scraping at the bottom of the barrel for news now . . . I'm not good at the journal thing. Oh, my brother's 21st is this weekend, so I'm as busy as anything helping to cook and clean and such. And the worst thing is, my friend Jack from Brisbane (poor guy ) is down here right now, and I can hardly spend any time with him! And we have so much to talk about!! >.<* Stupid brother.

Anyways, news is what I s'pose I should post. I got into Monash University. Whoopdidoo. I should be a lot happier, I guess, 'cause Monash is such a great uni, but since I'm doing a totally useless degree (bachelor of arts, come on), I guess it just doesn't wash. I'd always sworn I'd never be pathetic enough to do a BA (I had a very science/mathematics oriented upbringing), and then I stopped doing science at school . . . I think that's where the plan started going downhill!

So, as of Feb 27th, I will be a part time uni bum, doing 6 contact hours a week . . . ultimate laziness! Rawk awn!

I hate Christmas. Not because it's a repulsive idea - I like the idea of families coming together to spend time with each other for a common reason - it's just . . . it's so damn commercial. And I've done my annual festive rant about Coca Cola, so don't worry, I don't need to offload it here. But I still am repelled by the whole concept of "I have to give everyone I know expensive Christmas presents, or I won't get any attention or love". Fuck the ammount of money involved, I'd rather have a handmade card from a 5 year old than a box of chocolates anyday. And in fact, that's what I got . . . my neighbours are the only kids I can stand . . .

Oh, and it was my birthday 3 days ago, so that was cool. Ish. Aside from certain people forgetting about it . . . fuck you. I think the best presents I got were my new watch and the box set of Angelic Layer (one of my favourite animes). ^_^ That and the Catbus that gave me . . . aw man, it's so fuzzy!

Yeah, and I've been increasingly edgier, and angrier than normal these days . . . I s'pose that working from 8am onwards (til 5, 6, 7 . . .) isn't helping. It sure is getting me many monies though!

I'm so damn happy! *spins around in circles*

Oh man, I've been through 13 years of schooling (prep to year 12), and I faced my final boss this morning - MATHS METHODS (exam 2)! Don't look at me like that, it's what Kenny-sama said. He called it my final boss. Why am I trying to justify this?

Well, now I'm at a loss. What should I do? Exam results don't come out until December, so . . . now what? Get a job? Pfft, too lazy. Study? Why?! Do all the things I've been missing out on this year? Sounds more like it . . . ANIME MARATHON TIME!!!

Any suggestions of anime series I should watch? I'm rewatching Saiyuki, and I'm also going to finally sit down and actually *watch* Trigun . . . what else? Someone give me a suggestion already!!

I ran into ~MouldyNachos at his work the other day. T'was nice to see him again. Erm, what else? I'm planning on going over to America next year to be a helper in the summer camps. ^_^ Why? God only knows - I'm the first to admit I have a real problem with kids . . . but the chance for cheap travel, and an escape from my life here for a few months is just too good to pass up! A few of my friends are going to come too - we're going to trip around afterwards, and plan on going to Roswell and Disneyland. I got the bug at EuroDisney, now I need to go to the Californian one (it is is CA, right? Ah well, whichever one is fine with me - I ain't fussy!). Apparently we're also going to Vegas? Maybe I'll get married there . . . but Kenny-sama won't be coming . . .

Erm, yeah, I'm really happy! ^_^ I'm also going to help record the OzTAKU theme song soon (I'm a backing vocalist, 'cause I'm not really a strong singer, I'm just enthusiastic), more on that later, 'cause I don't know how much I can say about it yet!

I've tried my hand at colouring with my H girl, to marginal success - much better than my Christmas card piccy . . . I do need help, so if anyone has suggestions . . . feel free to me around the face . . . heh. (I like emoticons, can you tell?)

First off, thankies to everyone who's bothered to look at my stuff! I dunno what you like about my work, but I'm glad that people actually think my stuff is funny. ^_^

Erm, well, I don't want to take up too much of your time, so I'll keep it brief.

As I ranted last time, Manifest was great. Unfortunately, I didn't go to one screening. Not one! I'm so ashamed. However, I got to meet a lot of awesome people, and I made cookies and brownies for everyone in the drawing room to share. They went like hotcakes! I thought I may have to cart stuff home, but they went each day within 5 minutes! I felt like a real housewife though, so I didn't like that . . . I'm not a slave damnit! I'm only 17!!! >.<

In other news, exams are looming . . . eep! So I wish everyone who're doing exams at this time a whole lot of good luck, and I have my for you. ^_~

I've been browsing here a lot, and I really like *SViktor's work - it's so awesome! So check that out!! I needed a good bit of gore and violence in my life, so this is my escape . . . heh heh heh . . .

Hmm. I'm a n00b. I've scanned DA before, but never wanted to submit anything . . . largely 'cause my art is crap, and I don't need others to tell me that!

This account is actually for my friend and I to share (why didn't I just make one for her? Well . . .
