I am the world's biggest idiot.

I've been working hard on my zombie burlesque dancer. But I made the fatal mistake of tilting the overhead projector forward when projecting her onto my painted background. It didn't lool so obvious when she was just chalked in, but as I started filling her in with colour it became more and more obvious just how hideously big her head was compared to her body. I'm thining, hey what the hell? I look at the drawing and it looks beautifully proportionate and then looked back at the painting ... and I realised.

I threw a mini self hate tanty, cried and bit and had a whine and a moan. I didn't know whether to throw the whole thing in or try rectify it. Greazefest is on Sunday. Hell I'd be so far behind. I decided to get up and attack the canvas with a damp cloth. To my utter surprise the zombie girl disappeared in front of my eyes, leaving minimal damage to the blended backdrop. Hallelujah! Is there a god?

So I'm having to rework the background a tad to repaint the white spots where the paint has come off and just get the remainders of zombie blue/grey out of it. But other than that, if I work through the night and keep at it I might just get it done in time. Here's to hoping *fingers crossed*

Now back to work!

So I'm finally getting into gear and doing some more artwork. I've just completed 4 small paintings which await a lick of paint around the canvas edges before I photograph them. I've also finished another drawing that I've been doing the last few months in my lunch breaks at work. I have 4 free days to paint before Greazefest on Sunday so hopefully I can get my lovely zombie burlesque dancer completed for the art show.

The weekend before last I visited South Australia. Adelaide is so unlike Brisbane for all the right reasons and the South Australian countryside was absolutely beautiful and I think I fell in love! I also go to visit the wonderful and talented Harmony (=DalaiHarma) who subjected me to cold cold grass of her back lawn. I was distracted from freezing by her hilarious antics which had me expelling big fat tears out of one eye. Said tears merrily indulged in smudging my eye make up. After my gig as model was over I was rewarded with peppermint tea (my favourite) and sent on my merry way home. What a hoot!

Anyhow, there are a few more ideas with different photographers in the works. I'm also going to change my journal skin to something more simple soon so I can just make smaller and more frequent updates. If anyone else wants THIS one, shout out! I might give it to you

Holy mack! I finally got some CSS sorted! Well sort of. I basically took *Jamaal10's Orange CSS layout and completely defaced it beyond recognition to what it is now. But he doesn't seem to mind so it's all good.

I just turned 20 last Monday so I'm finding it a little weird coming to terms with no longer being a teenager. My lovely boy gifted me an extravagant set of soft chalk pastels in a wooden case. Oh my! How I love soft pastels. Good quality ones at that! My goal this year is to do more artworks than photoshoots, because really I don't do enough art. It's a damn shame and I want to change that.

Oh and following my search for the perfect corset (RE: my last post) I FOUND IT! It was a longline courtesan underbust corset from Meschantes.com to which a friend on LJ referred me. I was EXACTLY what I wanted so I snapped it up. You can sort of see it in my photo by Kate O'Brien but I promise there are many more to come, including pending images from Derek Smith.

I'm no corset expert by any means. But the idea I know I want is a low luster black longline underbust (so you can see your bra) corset with a relatively straight cut top, cinches the waist a few inches, sits low on the hips, has an obtuse v shape dip at the bottom, busk closure in the front, lacing in the back. The only one I've ever seen that fits this description is in the following deviation.

Ohhh it's so perfect. Just what I'm after. The designer who made it however is in the US. I'm not sure if she deals internationally but it also appears she hasn't updated her site for well over 6 months. There is also the unfortunate incident of the Australian dollar going to shit. Oh what to do, what to doooo.

In short, I epic fail at trying to find that perfect corset.

Note of warning though. I have always been EXTREMELY picky who I choose to watch/favorite. It's most probably why I have such a small selection to begin with.

How nice is she? So I'm hoping amongst the bustle of my busy life I can draw her a little something. I must say, I am really not used to working full time. A month and a bit at it and I've still not quite adjusted to it. How does everyone do it?!

On Sunday I took some time out for once and added some finishing touches to Miss Custom 300, which consisted of a Ford crest necklace and a spat star decal on her ankle. Unfortunately the chrome spat star just didn't look right and any attempts to make it look like a tattoo went awry. In the end I scrubbed it off and made her ankle pristine again. The Ford crest necklace turned out well though but I can't help but feel blasphemous for introducing new colours (red, yellow & blue) into the painting. It's just not the same

But that's what my boyfriend wanted so at least he's happy with it.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to entering it into the Greazefest lowbrow art show this year. I'm terribly excited to finally have a decent piece of art to showcase. Hopefully I'll get some photos then and can update the rotten photo I'm currently using of it in my Deviation.

Also, I really need to work out of those spiffy Journal codes don't I? Bah, so much work, so little time! I'll get there on day.

But it was great to experience the subscribed DeviantArt experience, something which I must thank 'Sodalicious for. She offered a 3 month sub for whoever sent her a screenshot of her 100,000th page view. I was lucky enough to stumble along at the right moment. I may or may not have refreshed a few times though

Like I said it was a lovely new side of DeviantArt to experience even though I might not have fiddled with every little feature. It's shown me all the benefits (which I love) so hopefully in the future I will be churning out more artwork and I will treat myself to a subscription.

One of the things I like the most is the choice to have 'featured artworks' and sort your deviations into groups. That way I could group my artwork and modeling photos away from each other. I don't like how they're all mooshed together

My plans for the future:
1. Buy an overhead projector
2. Do more artwork
3. Post 'em on DA and get a myself sub!

However, my modeling photos are starting to out number my actual artwork which kind of bothers me, so I guess I'd better get busy with my sketchpad! Mind you it doesn't help that this is a fairly new account, given the bulk of earlier art is on my old account: chinkabee. It took me 3 or more years to get it as full as I did so I guess I have plenty of time to work on filling up this one!

Sorry to do this to you all and add you to another new account, again!

My reason for last time is I wanted to update my username to match my domain name. But now I've realized that I'm not happy with it due to kitschy & long windedness. Thus I've changed my account name again to match my new domain name. Having said this all my accounts everywhere have been changed ie. LJ, Myspace, Last.fm, Model Mayhem, gmail etc. to follow suit and this has been happening slowly over time, so I can promise I won't do it to you again.

In other news I've realized I haven't backed up my art to my portable hard drive which is very unfortunate as my main computer has gone under. Unless it is ressurectable I won't have any of my old art on here. Everything will be new. That is when I get a new set-up again and am able to scan and use photoshop again.

I look forward to contributing again and once more being an active deviant. In the meantime my art can be viewed under the usernames of chinkabee and misscherrydelight.
