Portal references set aside, I have a lot of news (but not necessarily bad!).

Work isn't that stressful, but I've been coming home tired and unable to sit down and draw. I start college next week and get to sit through 3 hour lectures though, so I should have plenty of time to draw... (It's not THAT bad, I actually work better when I'm not focusing 100%... probably because I'm so used to multi-tasking, I need it now. )

I've got some poses set aside for Heri and Wherl, but I've put them on the back burner for now, so I can focus on finishing up Cross Dresser and Beast Infection. That one's a little tricky, as I'm not sure exactly how to set up the two characters. I've gone through some ideas and I think I've settled on one.

Also found a few digital coloring tutorial books while shelving at work. They look REALLY good, so I think I'll pick those up while I'm having RAM issues. If I can't color my current queue, then I can at least practice my technique on smaller images.

Money is tighter than I wanted, so for those who I expressed interest in comissioning, I'm REALLY sorry! I'll try to get your payments to you before you get to my spot on your queue.

Another weekly update on what I'm doing...

New job is AWESOME! Got a lot of compliments from the General Manager today, which is GREAT because I thought I wasn't doing so well. Turns out they really like the numbers I'm pulling and how quickly I'm shelving books. I guess being an obsessive-compulsive bookkeeper myself really pays off.

It looks like they're going to keep me in the Kids/Teens Section, as I've been assigned to shelving there every shift so far. Which is awesome, because that's what I generally read. I love that Young Adult fantasy stuff. Heck, I'm writing a novel in that genre. So, to keep current with the section, as I'm way behind on my reading, here's my reading list for the month of May:

And my drawing goals for this month is to at least have my entire queue SKETCHED. I want it all colored by the end of June. So I'm going to focus on sketching all the comissions first and color as I have spare time.

I think I have to put off coloring for now, anyway. My desktop isn't rendering scans over 300dpi anymore and I really like to work with 600. Doing so causes Illustrator to crash because I have no memory. I ink in Illustrator. It's what I was trained in. The obvious solution to this is to install CS2 on my laptop and use that for all my digital work. But I can't because I let my friend borrow my installation CDs some time ago and I REALLY need them, only she keeps claiming to be busy and I highly doubt she's as busy as she says she is. I'm guessing at this point she is just ignoring me.

I CAN transfer the verification to my laptop, but that disables CS2 on my desktop, so that will be an absolute LAST resort, like should my desktop burst into flames or whatever. Until then I will just keep restarting my computer and trying to get Illustrator to load a 600dpi file. It really hates me for doing that, but we need to talk this through and learn to work together. I swear computers are like girlfriends sometimes.

Due to the total unpredictability of my work schedule and the effort of trying to get into college, my queue is closed until June. Expect another sale when it reopens.

I'd rather you comission instead.

Still working on linearts, and practicing some coloring techniques on Armor Assassin. Found some really good tutorials for metal so we'll see what I can come up with!

While I'm working on those colors I'm trying to finish up the Hericane lineart as well. Two pieces at a time seems to be my limit though.

Just another /e wave to let you know I'm still here... and with new artistic motivation!

I'll share the big news first. Barnes & Noble hired me! WOO! Finally, a source of income that is steady AND legal!

And of course there is another big thing happening in my life that is equally (if not more) uplifting, but that's a story for another time.

Armor Assassin inks are nearly complete! I've also decided to finally finish Tomograph and Blinding Aura, and use those to work on some new coloring techniques.

Hericane's costume is almost completely drawn!

Hi folks! Just wanted to post a few updates about my art and life in general...

- I have a job interview tomorrow with B&N! I'm soooo nervous and excited!
- Lineart for Armor Assassin complete!
- Hericane is still naked! Um....right. At least she has hair now...um... *draws clothes on her*

Oh, the best part (I think), I'm opening my queue again! I'm going to stress now that if you are in spots 4-10, I don't want you to pay me. All payments are FINAL (I don't refund), so I don't want any payment until I'm ready to work on your piece.

My reason for re-opening? May 11th... I say no more. My mom might be reading this.

UPDATE: Job quitted! Hunting for something better. Man they gave me so much grief.

I know you probably thought I would be by now!

I went on vacation last weekend. Went down to Virginia Beach and thoroughly enjoyed myself. It rained the whole time so we did a lot of indoor stuff but it was still good fun. I managed to work on Armor Assassin and Hericane a bit while there. I'll post those scans as soon as I scan them, which given my current state of sleepiness won't be tonight.

Found out my manager is hiring another employee. OK, I work 10 hours a week. Wouldn't it be easier to give me more hours than train another employee? I'm going to keep hoping Barnes & Noble will take me so I can quit sooner.

Just wanted to let you all know what's up.



...Do I have such horrible luck with jobs? The bakery I'm working at is most likely going to be closed in 3 months for construction. I'll be out of a job there for several months, and I'm not sure if I qualify for unemployment benefits in the event the store does not relocate. Anyhow, I'm job hunting. Got two bookstores I've applied to.

So I really need to get to work on these comissions so I can reopen my queue ASAP, but I'm trying not to rush the work I do have on my plate. Won't seem fair. And I'm enjoying the challenges that threw at me with his characters.

Sadly, most I've been able to do is work out poses. Maybe Friday or Saturday I'll post my pose ideas under scraps. As for tomorrow, it's another day of tiring work, so I'm off to bed now.

Yay for uploading stuffs!

Finally got in a mood to work on some comissions this morning after CoH went down for server maintenance. Shame too because Plas was shadowing my new scrapper through Hollows missions, and I added Jive to the fun as well! Yay for getting from level 8 to 12 in about 2 hours! I swear that needs to be illegal. That wasn't heroics, that was murder. I had 45% defense across the board and with Jive on follow and auto-Fulcrum Shift, and Plas' godly Fort, I was at 200% damage constantly. @_@ Poor Trolls. Wait, they killed Fan and Jive's parents. Nevermind.

Anyway, my little art project today is Armor Assassin. The armor is hard to get right but I am enjoying it. Which is odd for me. Usually I absolutely Hate. Drawing. Period. So having fun is a relief.



On an odd note, yesterday I logged onto CoH around the same time as Kad and told him I got Howl's Moving Castle. He responded saying he just got back from Borders himself, got the same book, and used a 25% off membership coupon....same one I used. Odd. Kerse suggested that Kad's an alternate personality I never knew about. That would be bad. I don't want to explain to the nice people in white jackets why I'm dating myself.

Anyway, Sophie's stepmother's name is Fanny, and she's actually a good character. The Fanny in Brave New World sleeps around a bit. Umm.... no.

Even though I have a mile-long list of Deviants to Feature, I'm just out of energy today. I'll try to consistently Feature them again at some point, really.

Anyway, been having a bad week for creativity. I've worked out some poses for Armor Assassin and 3 of the Heri girls, but nothing detailed enough to post. I did buy myself a nice new sketchbook with good white paper and perforated edges, and I'm enjoying it so far.

So I'm basically posting this to say "Hey, I'm still alive! And I am working on your linearts! Don't worry!"

I have new Fan-art to post up, as well as a sketch I did manage to finish at long last, so I'll try to throw that up this evening after work, and that will bring me to 100 deviations.

Anyway, my current goal is to finish my queue by the end of April. I know for a fact it will take me at least that long to do 18 colored pieces, so my queue is closed until those are done.

Okay! I'm getting my glasses today, thanks to everyone who contributed! <3 Finally the headaches will (hopefully) stop and I won't suffer more than I have to drawing.

Just a note, you won't see any new stuff from me on Thursdays and Fridays because those are my days off from drawing! I work my other job on those days so I prefer to relax before the cookie bakery craziness.

Anyway, this week's Feature is my Dear Old Dad, . He never did much art in the recent past, so believe me I felt extra super special when he drew Fan-Fania.

His work is amazing. His poses are full of emotion, his lineart is clean and detailed, and overall I just can't take my eyes off his work. See for yourself!
