great day today, last day of school, snow and christmas spirit and had an amazing time with all my friends

nothing much to say - but the best christmassy feeling today was when we got let out from assembly and it started snowing, everyone started screaming and running about and if the british airways decide not to go on strike then i will be enjoying a great snowy christmas in the alps with my family

happy holidays everyone!

(also watched elf today and decided that it is one of the best christmas films of ALL TIME)}

^{well i'm back from a beautiful trip to paris i've been to paris more times than i can count, and still i love it. it's a different world there....my dream place to live when i'm older. culture, art, lifestyle, food, just the general atmosphere...

anyway so i've uploaded a couple of snapshots i took on my trip and i'm thinking of doing a small photojournalism series. or just a series of emotion. i don't know, but i want to do something very different very soon.

hope everyone's well (anyone who might read this) - i'll just revel in my 1 week left of half term}

^{yet again...i don't really have much to say, i just wanted my old entry off the page. i really want to do a million things at the moment. this year at school is getting serious...GCSEs and whatnot but i just want to escape into a creative hideout.

i found that instead of doing maths homework, reading articles on art theory and scrolling through hussein chalayan's creations whilst listening to for you by coldplay was a perfect way to spend a couple of hours (or something, i lost track of time) yesterday. but it's back rolling into another school week which is... you know
well i would like to do some new photography projects soon, or paintings and such. anyway i should really post something better soon

oh, and i am having an unbelievable passion and obsession for coldplay right now i have always liked them, and this year they were kind of my "favourite band" but i am quite possessed right now

well finally, after 6 fantastic weeks of holiday i am back in london we stayed for 5 weeks in cyprus and it was wonderful; seeing my family, friends and just enjoying the wonderfulness of sun and sea that doesn't exist in england then we spent 5 days in bodrum, turkey which was also extremely fun - it was my first time in bodrum and it is a really beautiful city. i could explain every detail of it and bore you all...but i won't

so i'm just happy to be home i'll just bask in these 1 1/2 days of freedom before we have to go back to school

^{hi everyone,
school is finally OUT!!
you might be thinking, yeah, that's old news - everybody's school is out. well unfortunately our school is always unnecessarily late to break up for the summer so we only broke up two days ago. on monday i'm going to cyprus for 6 weeks and also turkey for a week so i will hopefully be taking some amazing photos - bodrum is such a beautiful city

on another note i'm quite excited about the new da portfolios, i'm in the middle of making mine right now. so i will put up the link for that soon.

and finally....i saw harry potter and the half-blood prince!! when it was finished, i was all, "THAT WAS AMAZING!!!!OMGOMGOMG" but really i dont think the plot was that great. visually it was one of the best films i've ever seen - i couldnt believe the incredible photography in it and i immediately looked up the director of photography when i got home (IT WAS THAT AMAZING). but one hour of the film had gone by and i was still waiting for the story to start. plus i don't think dumbledore's death was done very well, but that's just my opinion.

anyway everyone have an amazing summer!}

well this past week i have: been taken to hospital, threw up 7 times in one day and been suspected of swine flu (I DON'T HAVE IT).

so just very ill. although completely fine today but still not going to school so that i can recover (yes i do need emotions to illustrate everything that i say)

actually i have no reason for a journal. as always. but i wanted to get the old one off.
i neeeeed to do more photos with people and more interesting things

^{went to the deviantart meeting yesterday, and it was AMAZING.

i went with and plus our friend sarah, and it really was one of the best days...ever. aside from my occasional awkward shuffling from one group to the next and my really lame "aahh" whilst we were playing wink murder (the literature group was awesome), it was so much fun meeting everyone and just hanging out. seeing angelo and heidi was cool too.

i mostly hung out in the photography group where i met the really nice ~aero-love and ~Marielenh, and ~flaviolongato. (i am such a stalker)
the literature group, as i already said was awweesommme - i missed the roleplay stuff but the games were cool.
(then all the groups kind of merged/scattered)
it was sunny, exciting, happy and i really hope they come to london again!

anyway my exams are over so i can focus on making more stuff, writing and also taking more photos. i am planning a photoshoot very soon. in the meantime i'll photograph strange things in the house and make a new devID.

life can get heavy mascara shouldnt

...is a quote from one of the works from, i think, one of my new favourite artists.
we stayed in geneva for two nights after coming back from verbier, and on sunday, as all the shops were closed, we were looking around for some kind of exhibition or something interesting to visit. finally we found out about the centre of contemporary art, which was exhibiting the art of sylvie fleury that day, with a free entrance!

it did also have a photography section, but that was closed on sunday, so we visited the sylvie fleury exhibition (some other artists were also being exhibited too, but she was the main one).
all i can say is...wow. the collection consisted of films, installations and textured paintings. the first room we walked in had two crushed cars, one in violet and one in pink, large metal sculptures and words written on the walls. everything was so abstract and interesting - a lot of her art dealt with superficiality and fashion branding, with designer shopping bags arranged together and the words "please, no more of this kind of stuff" sprawled on the walls, and mondrian-printed shoes scattered on the floor. most of the rooms were painted in a stripy pattern in a bold colour with giant sculptures of mushrooms, and everything seemed outlandish, yet beautiful. there were also films projected up onto the walls; one being a model shooting a chanel bag, and another someone's high heels crushing what looked like christmas baubles. it was actually like being inside the art - one room was painted in orange stripes and had a catwalk in the middle of it, which you just walked onto. it was pretty incredible.
some of the other interesting installations by other artists were:
- a small room in complete darkness with no light whatsoever. you step inside, and you think that's all there is and then your eyes start adjusting to the fluorescent orange handprints painted on the walls.
- a room sculptured as the inside of a cave, with gold tyres sprouting water.
- a room with nothing but yellow powder on the floor.

so very, very interesting art

i just really wanted my old entry off the page to be honest
and also to say that I am hopefully doing a shoot soon, sort of otherworldly and in the woods and stuff. I've been really inspired by Arthur Elgort and Eleanor Hardwick's new stuff so it should be good.
i love winter...i've uploaded one photo today of some silhouettes of trees (actually my photography has been really experimental lately) and that's one of the things i love the most about winter; i love looking at these silhouettes of trees against greeny-bluey skies. haha, i'm lame
what does everyone like about winter?

back into design

I'm so happy; I'm finally back into graphic design! I "left" it for photography, but then I was having a look at some handmade Christmas cards on Etsy, and I thought "I would love to make designs like that!". One artist I particularly liked was [link] ; her designs are really beautiful with amazing colours. I'm definitely not abandoning photography but for now I'm really excited about designing.

I've done some simple Christmas designs - is it just me or does everyone get in the Christmas mood really early? (yeh it's just me I'm weird )

So yep. And this has encouraged me even more to carry on with the graphic design site, so when I'm done I'll post up the link for that.

cote d'azur & more

Just came back from the beautiful Cote d'Azur, France and submitted a load of photography deviations! It was really breathtaking - we stayed with some family and visited several towns, most including ports, which was great for taking pictures. We stayed in Moujins, a small town near Cannes. Places we visited included Ventimiglia, Italy, which is just on the border of France, Monaco, St Tropez (failed to take any pictures there as was literally feeling awful that day, and also couldnt manage to take any decent pictures of boats), Antibes, Eze and Volbanne, which we couldn't really explore as it was raining. But yep, had a great time and produced some photography out of it which I'm quite happy with.
I'm currently working on a graphic design and photography website which I'll post up the link for soon.

Oh, and Happy (nearly) Halloween everyone!

I've finally got a new website like I said I would...although it's not really a website. It's just another e-portofolio; but not as social as dA. I'll make a proper one when I can be bothered. Really want to do a new photoshoot soon, but everytime I get an idea, I just think, "no, that's overused and too typical". I want to include more colour than my previous photos, but that's about it really. Hmm.

Don't get excited...(although who would?)...I haven't got anything to say; I just want to get my old journal entry off this page. I'd like to say thank you to for the watch; it sounds really cheesy but I really appreciate it.
I've been in Cyprus for almost 6 weeks and am planning to do a Cyprus photo thing, but actually I've been too lazy swimming and whatnot to bother; I've managed to take a grand total of about two good photos.
Apart from that, Cyprus is great - we went up a mountain called Trodos yesterday which has these beautiful pine forests (yet another great photo oppurtunity missed).
So I hope everyone's having a great summer, and I'll be more active on dA once I'm back in London! Thanks to anyone who bothered to read this.

I was just browsing through some old sites and some which I used to own - and I thought, why not make one again? (gayy I know).
But seriousy....I really want to get back into making websites. So I went back to this site I was supposed to design a layout for last year but couldnt for various reasons, and applied to be a designer and article writer again, and I got in! Yay. I won't be able to start designing till Friday onwards but I just wanted to post the site here to get it more popular (not that anyone goes on my deviantART ).
It's an amazing, really professional website for teens offering advice, articles and this new online magazine called Pulse. It started off as a tiny FreeWebs site but it's gotten really professional now. It's [link] if anyone wants to visit .

Just a quick note to say that I am currently in LOVE with Tim Walker's photography. I would post some of his pictures up, but I'm not a dA subscriber so I can't do that, so I'll just describe them. He does the most elegant, cultured, cutting edge fashion photography I have ever seen. I was also surprised to see that he photographed many photographs and adverts I've admired for ages; like a Carolina Herrerra, Juicy Couture and Replay. His portofolio is [link] .

Fashion Blog Update...

Even though it'll be a while till I suscribe to DA and put CSS into my journal, I'm still starting off my fashion blog, even though I can't put in pictures =[.
I'm really, really happy and excited with 2008's summer trends. That's because it's bringing out my favourite style which I'm usually shy to wear as it's never been put in the spotlight of fashion. The style is: romantic! I was really impressed with two high street shops I went into today; Monsoon and River Island.
First, with Monsoon; they have a range called "Monsoon Fusion" with fluttery chiffon and silk dresses, pretty lace, layers and warm, summery prints. Colours include earthy oranges, warm corals, turqoises, beiges, creams, whites, mocha browns and neutral greens. I'm off to the high street next week too, so I'll definitely be buying a pretty, romantic-style blouse from there.
Secondly, River Island - unfortunately, they still have some of those in-your-face tacky pieces that were in fashion last summer, but there's also a very pretty style in their collection. And by that, I really do mean "pretty" - not feminine, not complicated and full of layers - just pretty. But the thing I really liked about River Island's new collections were the details of the clothes, not the actual garments. These included spaghetti straps, trimmed laces, bows, clinched waists and fluttery sleeves.
That's all really for this journal update, but I WILL suscribe to DA (one day) and make this into a proper fashion journal/blog/thing.
