Overriding thought of the day: Am I wasting my time in this fine arts school?

I've been trying so hard to think of a way to consolidate the information I'm learning for this fine arts degree into comics. I thought, originally, that I could let the stuff that I'm learning here inform my comics. They would be two mediums that fed off of each other, each boosting the other creatively— but whenever I try to combine the certain type of abstraction that my professors are attracted to  with the comics that I like to draw, all I get is a sad in between that neither of us are really passionate about.
