It has been such a busy time for me these past 6 months. Our son joined the Marine Reserves, my parents moved from my home town in NC to MO and parenting all that good stuff. However I have kept at my photography, even doing my daughters Senior Portraits which were so much fun.

I hope to get back into my work here on DA so I may continue to grow in a hobby I have grown to love.

I have been busy at work it is a very active time with the Coast Guard members pay.
What has been great I have been able to continue with my "drive by" photography (for those who don't know me sometimes on my drive (35 mins) into work and from work I take photos). A added pleasure is that the flowers seem to always be open and beautiful this time of year due to the humidity and rain. The weather here in Kansas is so unpredictable so I always seem to have a new canvas of nature to photograph. I just hope I have time to put them up here and keep up with my new clubs..WOW!!

My most recent club is and just submitted a request to join club.

Also to everyone I am gradually heading toward 3K views. If I can get my membership before then I may set up as Feature for my 3K visitor.

As some you can tell when you browse through my Gallery. As a "photographer" I guess that is what I can call myself, the weather here gives me so very much to photographic I almost get lost in my "work".
Any way I am very excited today because I have been looking into more clubs lately such as I have been using the to find some really great clubs.

I am also looking into finally getting a subscription to deviantart I guess I have just felt I am no where near the quality photographer of some of my fellow deviants and just decided not to subscribe. I am always taking photos of course family things and events. Plus there are the winter photos I have taken. However, now I feel just like the flowers in my photos like I have opened up to a new sun, a new day and a brand new season.

It is good to be back, I have already submitted a photo to a contest so I am up and o the move. Please if you look at photos give me critiques and pointers on how to improve. I do not do a lot of photo manipulation I am just a little old fashioned and a little to poor.

Any way we have survived an Ice Storm here in the so called flat Kansas, power was out for 6 days, lost all our food in frig and freezer. However, we are better off than most. We had to go stay with my son and his wife in Kansas City. Missed getting our Christmas tree up until day before Christmas.

So now I will be putting new pictures up and maybe you will see the difference. This will be fun and I hope anyone viewing my pics will critique them for me.

Well forget all of that, good news is I have over 1000 page views which is kewl. Also, I won or received honorable mention for a photo called "Autumn Bare Feet" [link] I entered in at =FeatureShare [link] . Which was very awesome mainly because it was my first contest, plus bare feet are my favorite type of transportation. I just wish it could be that way all year.

I am still working on figure out how to use links. Any way back to Christmas I think I am going to try to focus my photography on the Holiday Season, not just my Catholic religion but different religions, and also winter as a focus. Just hope I have the time. One thing for sure I am suppose to get a new camera for Christmas. I have been researching and looking at information from members here and people I know.

We found the little guy Cozmo, at the Human Society in a desperate need for a home. So we have adopted him but he can't some to his new home until Wed. You should see his photo as my recent deviations.

I think he will be a perfect addition to our family and help to fill the empty space Bear has left behind. There we never be another Bear but there will be a Cozmo(yes we decided to spell his name that way).

I purposely stayed home from work today due to her rapid deterioration. This morning the girls said goodbye as did my husband. I spent some wonderful moments with her and noticed that she was in really bad shape. I called her daddy, my hubby, and then the Vet to move the appointment up. When I got home after only being gone and hour, and after sitting with Baby Girl, brushing her while she laid outside, holding her, I told her she did not need to hold on for us. That if she wanted to she could let go right here at home, with the sun in her fur and wind blowing a very nice breeze.

When I got home I found she had passed on, she is now in another world chasing moles, squirrels and such. We will miss her so very much, tears continually fall right now.

Thank you to everyone who has been there for me and my family through out all of this.
This Journal Entry is dedicated to Our Beloved Baby Bear! May God and the angels keep her active in a big yard full of things to chase.

Not without heartache and headache, but all of us had a wonderful visit and can't wait for another one.

You see my nephew has been visiting the past two weeks. He is the son of my baby brother who was killed 5 years ago on the 17th of this month. I was praying that he would be here to stay and his mom move up later. However, that is not going to happen I think I knew this deep down but chances were slim. See I am in the middle of the US he lives on the East Coast. So we rarely see each other and I miss him so.

I know part of it is I also miss his dad and as the anniversary of his death comes closer it just bring up certain emotions.

I guess it has just been hard lately and I wanted to vent.
