1. What led you to write?
i actually have no idea. books are a big part of it, but i think i actually started at some point in junior high...my friends were all writing and i wanted to write too. so i started. my first few stories...em. woo mary sues. i grew out of it, though. thank the everything.

2. When did you start writing?
i think i said that above.

3. What does writing represent in your life?
....? i dunno.

4. Are you happy with your current style?
given that i have no idea what my style is? i guess.

5. Do you do editing?
yes. Earthaven is currently being beta-read, which is why there haven't been a lot of posts about it recently.

6. Do you read about writing (creative writing books, grammar books...)?
no. i've never seen how they can help.

7. Favourite genre?
tell you what. let's pretend there's a 'least' in front of 'favourite'. given that there now is a least in front of favorite, i hate mysteries and romances. and really, anything with hard-core sex in it. i have to close my eyes and skip past it.

8. Favourite author(s)?
Tolkien, for sure. followed by Diane Duane. then Rowling. then a *few* (*coughcough*) others.

9. Favourite book?
.................shit. um....The Lord of the Rings?

10. What do you prefer to write?
fantasy. a little sci-fi here and there. but mostly fantasy. it's gotten to the point where i have trouble writing non-fiction, actually. not that i mind.

mysteries. have i mentioned that i hate them? well, that's not the reason. also, sex. i can't write sex.

12. What is the weirdest thing you have ever written?
weird to one is normal to another, so there is no weird and there is no normal, and all is well with the world.

Seiteki Akuma. which, incidentally, means ‘sexual demon’ in Japanese. yes, he is of Japanese descent…in the sense that he fell in love with their culture several hundred years ago and assimilated into it pretty much completely.

well, it’s not as easy to kill an incubus as it is a human. but if you castrate them, they slowly starve to death. painfully and torturously. and they can choose to lay down their lives and pass in their sleep. and if you wound them grievously enough, they can die that way. but the key word there is ‘enough’…and that in and of itself depends on their energy level at the time…in fact, now i’m thinking of it, the less energy they have, the more ‘human’ they react to stimuli. so, if i ever had to kill my dear seiteki (whom i do not desire sexually or any other way for that matter…just so you know…>_> ), it would have to be by one of those three ways.

13. If they could live forever, never aging, never getting hurt, would they take the chance and go for it?

he’s as close to true immortality as he’s comfortable getting…so, no. no, he wouldn’t.

Well…it focuses on Lucifer as I see him/them and it’s a midrash. go look it up if you want to know what that is, because i suck at explaining things like that. and i’m lazy.

2. Stories always have a main character (or characters). Please, introduce them.

Satan: Hi! I’m Satan Lucifer. I’m the main mind of the seven minds/spirits/fragments who were sent to Hell. I’m fiercely protective of all my ‘brothers’, but particularly of Belial. Belial is completely crazy, so I’ll introduce him here too…he used to be the main mind, but then I lost it completely, and so he sacrificed himself to the Guardian so that I could be sane. Also, his memories are mine, and that mostly means the memories of the time before we were split…

Belz: It’s complicated. And I’m Beëlzebub Lucifer, though I usually go by Belz. I’m the fat cook. ’nuff said.

Evenstar: I’m Evenstar Lucifer. I’m…*reads from paper Morea has just handed him* “bi, histrionic, and a sexshifter.” Morea, what does all that mean and why won’t you let me introduce myself?

Abaddon: I’m Abaddon Lucifer. I look very much like pop-culture Lucifer. I’m also fiercely protective, but more of my shinies and Evenstar than anything else.

Mephis: Mephistopheles Lucifer. I’m lazy.

Sama:

Mephis: …Morea, why are you doing this to me?

Morea: because I can. now be a nice lazy bastard and introduce your brother.

Mephis: *sigh* fine…Sama is the youngest-looking and the smartest one of us.

right, so i saw this over in 's deviations ([link]), so i thought i'd give it a shot. but since i mislike making whole deviations for things like that, here's a journal entry!

1. How about a brief introduction of yourself?
I am Morea.

2. Fabulous! And what brought you into fanfiction to begin with?
Lord of the Rings. need i say more?
oh i do? all right...well, actually some friends of mine several years ago started handing me some writings that they'd done and had me read them. i liked them a lot, and i kinda wanted to do some myself, and at that point the only thing i knew much of anything about was LotR, so...
although there was that one ill-fated original. thank eru my computer ate it.

3. I see, so what kind of fanfiction do you like to write?
AU. there's just so much open ground there!
although i do make a point of making sure that certain details make sense with canon. as you can see from Dark Star (or can you?), i try my hardest to make it seem like "this is what happened on Sauron's side during all those years. this is why he acted the way he did, this is why all those things that Tolkien had him do that didn't make sense made sense to him." or whatever.
which reminds me...i should start working on that again...once i've gotten c15 of Earthaven out of my head.

4. Do you tend to write the same pairings/characters? Or are you a fandom whore?
that depends on what is meant by "same characters". i shall assume "same characters" means "as the canon of the series states"...in which case, yes, i do...at least to the extent that it will make sense not only with the original canon but with my take on it as well.

5. What is your most popular fanfic and why do you think people like it so?
i have no idea, seeing as how i have no social skills whatsoever. i would guess Dark Star, by virtue of having more chapters and pageviews than Naga.

6. Forget other people, what is the fanfic you've written you're most proud of?
Dark Star. I can write about it more easily...Naga just kinda goes at its own pace. well, actually, most of my writings do that, but as i intend to (eventually) rewrite all the Harry Potter books with him in them, and my muse likes to jump from book to book a lot...

7. Do you find writing easy? Hard? What are the most difficult aspects of writing you struggle with?

I just lost everything that was on it, including all three of my major fanfictions, an original work that I have hopes of publishing, all my schoolwork, and most everything on my favorites menu (mostly webcomics, and webcomics that I hadn't quite gotten around to reading).

Thank Eru for dA, for on dA are all three of my major fanfictions (minus whatever I was working on when my hard drive crashed).

Thank Eru for . She is now currently in possession of the only known complete edition of Earthaven, which is that original I mentioned.

Thank Eru that I have *some* of my webcomics stored on this computer. I think I can find the ones that I don't...eventually.

Thank Eru that my computer was still under warranty.

In short, thank Eru for small blessings.

My paranoia, however, now demands that I keep a list of all my webcomics in at least three different places, and store my work on a pin drive. Just in case this should happen again. Let us all hope that it does not.

A while ago, I was having a bunch of trouble with my computer, and in the midst of it, I managed to get a copy of Windows XP.

It finally arrived today. So, of course, I start trying to install it.

After following the directions (and hacking the setup a few times so that the idiot computer will boot from a CD), I finally manage to get to the screen that the directions say I should be seeing.

Then the computer says that it can't find a hard drive on my computer. And I, of course, am sitting here going "WTF??" and so I start looking around to try and find out what's going on.

I get nothing.

Anyone here have any idea at all what I should do?

The Orphan Art Act might just bring the world of online art to a massive halt. It will take away all publishing rights of simple artists like myself and probably all of you who read this. Should this bill pass, I [Shizuko2] will be taking down all my art and let it collect dust in my room till it will be safe to post again [MoreaGaara has no intention of doing likewise. She spits in the faces of the idiot congressmen and people who support this act. *gives finger*].

I (we) advise all deviants to keep an eye on this bill. The whole online art community is quite possibly at stake. I (we)encourage anyone who can vote to vote against it and/or write to your congressman. In protest, should this bill pass, I [Shizuko2] encourage people to take down all their art until it is amended or rescinded.

We should not lose our passive rights to our work just because we can't get it all copyrighted!
