Winter Cleaning

Long story short - I just spent about 45 minutes going through all of my old art and clearing out my gallery. I still kept most of the older stuff, but I really didn't want to save all the deviant desktop shots and ids that I used to have. I also took some time to use the new organizational features to set up a few different galleries.

I'm working on a new landscape render right now. I have one version that I'm probably going to scrap. I've rendered this version 5 times now and I can't get the clouds right. Hopefully this time it will work.

I just got Terragen 2 Deep version and was going to have my first submission of 2009 be a 1920x1200 wallpaper landscape. After 80 hours of rendering, with about 15 minutes left to finish the last few spots, the program crashed and I lost everything. How about that for a lovely start to 2009?

I then started working on another project that I was going to render at a smaller size so I could output it faster. Right before I clicked render...CRASH! I seem to be having fantastic luck with this tonight...so I think I'm just going to quit while I'm ahead and still have a running laptop.

For those who still have me on watch, happy thanksgiving! I'm really looking forward to this break from school. With the break I will also be finishing up a scenic design for my theatre appreciation class and working on a photography setup for my art appreciation. Look for them within the next couple of weeks!

Background info on them:

Scenic Design:
For the play called Matsukaze. It is based off of a traveling priest who arrives at the Suma Bay in Japan and sees a lone tree on the beach. He asks a local and finds out that it is the memorial for two fisherwomen who fell in love with a poet that had traveled to the bay in exile. When the poet left his exile and returned to the capital, they died from grief. The scenic design is an abstract set-up based solely around the lone pine.

Art Appreciation Photo Setup:
Going to take a few different shots over the long weekend. I will be hiking at the state park near where I live and doing a few setups with clothing laying on rocks, giving the illusion of vanishing.

Back from the Dead

Well where do I begin? I haven't been around since July of 2006, holy crap. I'm finishing up my Advanced Placement art class and going to put up some of the stuff I've made if I can get copies of it. I don't have a big enough scanner to fit most of the paintings I did though so I might just have to take pictures. I'll scan the sketches when I can, graduation is in a week so it might be a couple weeks.

Forgive Me

Please forgive me for having to do what I just did. I was on a massive downward spiral with art in any form, including writing. I didn't want to come on D.A. because I reformatted and needed to get everything again and I just didn't have the time. Now I come back and have 300+ deviations to look at and there is no way I can do that. So if you have some newer stuff you'd like me to look at please give me a link and I will check them out. I just know that 300+ deviations, 100+ journals, 20+ polls is way too much for me to handle at the moment.

On another note! I completely scrapped the "Unknown Prelude". It just didn't appeal to me in any way. I can't write sci-fi and I came to that realization after the holo log entry. I'm much better in the realms of fantasy which I will choose to stick in lest I feel the need to expand my horizon. I would type everything up in D.A. that I do but putting < br > or < p > after every break or paragraph gets ridiculous especially if I'm putting chapters on at a time. I will try to get a preludes / short stories up but if I do another prelude I intend to stick with it so if I go that route, don't expect short stories coming out of me.

Another note! I have a blog (I despise them) on my myspace page devoted to the creation of any backgrounds/signatures/logos for people. If you want to check it out let me know and I can give you a link. Basically its just general information on what I need to know if you want me to make you one of the three things. Just getting photoshop back after 4 months though and I won't install it again until tomorrow so I will be extremely rusty for a few weeks.

Other than that, I hope everyone has been taking care and nothing major (bad anyways) has happened in my second leave of absence from DA.

Unknown Illusions

Reading: The Rape of Nanking - Iris Chang (Very good book, one of the few non-fiction that I find interesting)

So basically spring break is coming to a close and it has been quite boring. There have been a couple of great does, but its been boring for the most part. I can say I'm ready to get my ass in gear again and kick Alg 2 right in the teeth Monday. Only problem is I don't recall what we were doing in Alg 2 when I left last Wednesday. Oops?

Someone also needs to kick me though, because I lost my train of thought for the next chapter of the story. I'll try to get it going again, but with a writers block after the prelude I don't know if this will be a finished design or whether I will start from scratch again, and just use some of the base thoughts of what I had written out. Either way, I'll try to get a thing or two up every week, whether it be art or more writing.

Wow let me tell you, the last book on that list is terrible. We are reading it for Honor's English 2, and its more or less about the hardships in the life of one slave. Not what I like to read about, but I guess its necessary in this case.

I'm still trying to get into boxing, because it kicks a lot of ass, but I doubt I will because of my family. So I shall probably start putting my mind to writing again, since I am severely lacking interest in art at the moment, other than my "most recent creation".

I managed to hurt my wrist again, although how I'm not quite sure. I honestly don't think its every fully healed since I broke it, but whatever.

I will try to get some more stuff posted again, even though I haven't been the most active person on DA. I finally got the Strong Bad posted though. ^_^

I am the mod again of the Pshop forum of the clan I am in, so I will be running more photomanip contests and what not through there, so I will try to get whatever I manipulate for the contests on here as well.

Hello,

I just popped on to say hello and submit a new tutorial. I've been pretty busy as of late with state wide testing, homework, and everything else. I can honestly say I miss my times with P-shop and I need to get back into it if I plan on going to college for either Graphic Design or Video Game Art and Design.

So hopefully you will be seeing a bit more of me in the near future. Also decided I'd start brain-storming again, since I'm thinking about getting a start on that book once next term starts (tomorrow), and finals are done.

I know I haven't been on much as of late, just haven't been up to it I suppose. I plan on updating stuff over the next few days, take a picture of a head I made last year and a paper mache "Strong Bad" I made 2 years ago. Also going to be doing some fan art from 'Spirited Away'. Hopefully I can use our scanner otherwise you won't be seeing that

Haven't been up to a whole lot, school starts in a few days actually. Here is my schedule (we have block schedule...90 minute classes with 5 minute breaks in between).

1st Semester: Computer Science, Computer Apps 1, Geometry, Biology.

Lalala. So I looked and once I got on today I got the "Congratulations..." Saying that I recieved the free one-week trial of DeviantSubscriber. Now that I realize how cool it actually is, I think I'm probably going to subscribe once the week is over.

In other news, since I have this for now, I think I'm really going to start to devote some time to artwork this week and post up some artwork if I can find a working scanner. Whether it will be traditional art or digitial art, I'm not quite sure now.

Real Name: Valcryn Tel'Rsha

Known As: Valcryn, Has also been refered to as "Black Death"

Age: 193

Race: Drow

Gender: Male

Weight: 109 lbs

Height: 63 inches (5 foot 3 inches)

Appearance: The black skinned elf with stark white hair stands but 63 inches from the ground. his thick hair is arranged short and wild, rather than having it well kept. His long fingers have extra joints, making him adept in wielding weapons, and making it possible for him to flash the intricate drow hand code. Of all the features on Valcryn, the most noteable are his seemingly lifeless black eyes. Peering out from underneath his deep green cloak, the eyes appear to show no emotion. The only time there is any light in his eyes is when aggression and other such emotions are shown in battle.

History: Valcryn's 193 years have been long and filled with struggle. He does not remember a lot of his earlier years, but what he does remember he tries to make the best of. Born in the land of Rurian, at the age of 19 his parents were exiled from the Drow colony they had lived in. They fled, rightfully fearing death by the hand of the entire colony, and traveled across the Jacian Sea on a large vessel. Although there were many stops along the way, they finally reached the port at Menstin. And so he started his life on Linmotar.

[center][b][i]Trials[/b][/i][/center]

Some 40 years later they arrived at the uncharted lands of Linmotar, filled with mystery. They lived in a cave which rolled on for miles beneath the surface. And then the sudden trials of youth took place. Although it was unusual to have mutual bond with another for the drow, the whole family had been close. Then the father had been torn apart in the wilds. It was Valcryn who had found his father, Valcryn who had buried his fathers tattered corpse, and Valcryn who had then been sent away for "treason to the family". His mother and 3 sisters, so compelled by the terrible incident, that they instantly blamed him for his fathers lack of survival skills. Induced with rage, he brutally slaughtered the rest of his family with the weapons of his father. He buried his 2 of his sisters, and burned his other sister, Wel'yth along with his mother. When his rage was sated, he fell to the ground and lay in an unconcious state for days.

[center][b][i]Revenge[/i][/b][/center]

A year later, his travel brought him out of the mountains, and traveling back across the lands of Linmotar. When he again reached the city of Menstin he used the gold he had taken when he left his "home" and bought passage on a ship to Rurian. Once he was away from the ship he felt the streets of Caprice firmly below him. He swore death to those who had first sent his family away from here in the first place, it was there fault that his father had died, that he had had to kill his own family. He drew his fathers scimitars up and lowered his gaze as he stepped outside of the city. He had a long way to go.

Trekking across the barren lands of Rurian, Valcryn made his way back to wear he was born. [i]It is all their fault! If we hadn't been exiled from our own people, our own people who were all previously exiled![/i] His thoughts coursed with ways of torture and what exactly he would do once he got to the colony. When he finally arrived, he found a small village, rather than the thriving city he had once lived in. His eyes flared in sudden anger as he saw the children playing in the streets and his rage consumed him. His scimitars were a blur, and his feet barely seen as he rushed through the village. Covered in blood he finally met resistance and he blades met more flesh. Never fully trained, he was covered in his own blood as well, but he couldn't, wouldn't notice it, his rage so blinding. He twirled through the village, leaving death in his wake, and then past out in utter exhaustion. Just like after he had killed his family, he had no idea how long he had lay there, but when he awoke, he ran.

Once the drow awoke from his sleep he fled the lands of Rurian, passing dwarves and drow alike. He took a ship around the mass of Deshkin and landed near Wint. His bloody cloak pulled tight against him, he stumbled into a shop, scimitars fully showing the stains of his previous fight in Rurian. As the shopkeep looked at him, he...

Well, First off, moving the newest kiriban back..probably to 2000...sorry A-say. I am too busy with everything else in life at the moment, mostly school work, and I haven't had the time to even do my thousandth kiriban..sad because im almost at 1,500 now.

Secondly, yay, birthday was friday! And I'm greated with tests!!! Go figure, my birthday just has to be at this time of the school year. Anywho, got some new stuff, mostly money. Going to end up buying a few more DVDs, mangas, etc. Just bought Rurouni Kenshin 7-10, .hack//Legend of the Twilight Vol 3, The Silmarillion, and the Moon Shae Trilogy, along with 'The Boondock Saints' and 'Fists of Fury' (gg bruce lee!) For my birthday, besides money, I've gotten 'Gladiator' and 'Vampire: The Masquerade Redemption'. Cool stuff, also got a lamp and a plain shade so I can water color paint the beast.

I am also sorry for not commenting on a lot of peoples new stuff. I've lacked insperation for any traditional art for about the past 5 years and I need to think up stuff on my own rather than sucking out ideas from others characters and combining them. The next thing I will probably put on is my Aoshi Shinomori Silk Screen I did in art..about the coolest traditional thing I've ever done. Until next time though,

Lalala, Christmas to all of you christians out there, and I dread typing any other holidays. I got a lot of stuff and still have another christmas tomorrow. In all I will probably get about $250-300 and that will just be superb.

Yesterday I didn't get a whole lot at my grandma's, but it was expensive. From my aunt I get Rainbow Six 3, and from my grandma, among other little things, I got a set of 12 prismacolor markers, as well as $20, from my grandpa, I got $50 (birthday and christmas..birthday's in a month). This morning I woke up and opened things here, in all I get a 48 set of prismacolor pencils and 6 more markers. >.< Sooo happy. Other than that, clothes and things of the like. Couple DVDs. I really need to get crackin' on a few various drawings and such that I need to do, especially personal character for A-say. (I promise I'll get it done soon!!!) My brother, generous this year because he's leaving for college next year, got me 'New American Gospel' by Lamb of God, and Beavis and Butthead do America ^_^ I got him a buddha.

Tomorrow I go to my grandma's that lives in same town as I do, probably get more money from her, various little things from aunts/uncles, and $100 from my dad as he does every other year. My step grandma and grandpa from town about 20 minutes from me are going to be giving things to my mom to bring me home, because I can't go because of the christmas at my real grandmas tomorrow.

As you can tell, disfunctional family My mom is divorced and remarried, my dad is obviously divorced, but remarried...to a jehovvah's witness or whatever, my mom's mom is divorced and remarried, and divorced again, and my mom's dad is obviously divorced, but remarried, and his wife just tried to kill herself about 3 months ago. < Shakes head> What a tale ay? Again, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Ah it's been so long since my last real journal entry so I figured I'd make one now since I am extremely bored. So today I had to take 'mid-terms' for Info processing and Algebra 1. It wasn't all that hard, but it wasn't fun either. I came home and played my newest addiction, Ninja Gaiden. May be pumping out some fan art if I can con my teacher into letting me switch to independant art instead of Art Studio 1 which I really don't like at all.

Other than, that, I am sick for the second time in a week. Last week I was sick, got over it on friday, saturday until yesterday I was fine. Now sore throat all over again. Don't want to stay home though because 2nd term starts tomorrow and I don't feel like missing anything. But I am going to try and get some more things done. I FINALLY finished Cel-chan for ~hack13 but I fear it looks terrible. If I hadn't inked it'd look so much better, because I could have erased and fixed a lot of things I screwed up on when I drew it out about 2-3 months ago..hack13 I didn't spend near enough time on it when I should have and now it looks bad > Now you will get to see why I stick with computer art

Ahh So I'm feeling alright, although my weekend was rather boring. Friday I didn't do a whole lot, Saturday I rollerbladed a lot, a good 10 miles atleast, mostly from point a to point b, b to c, c to b, b to c, c to d, d to c. >.< IF that makes any sense to you, and today, I just messed around on the comp a lot, along with rollerblading some more.

Not a whole lot is new. As you can see, I've got a couple of new deviations, as well as a new ID (which I like dearly). Other than that, just burning CDs for my brother and playing video games >.<. Girlfriend and I broke up last week because we never talked, but I think it shall work out for the best, because now that I see it, I like somebody more anyways. All this 'going out' business...>.<. Anywho, I should get going, gotta go get my new glasses tomorrow after school! Woot. That means I should get pictures soon after because I missed school pictures! YAY! .

Also, I'll probably be making a short story for DA pretty soon. Something along the lines of prelude to book I'll be writing after football. (Hopefully)

Today was so-so, got really pissed off today in art , and the rest of the day basically just went downhill. Creative title eh? Unfortunately it has nothing to do with this journal entry Ahh I feel refreshed and quite confused, and although I feel refreshed I also feel rather tired! Lots of odd events occuring lately, and quite frankly I don't want to deal with any of them! My head is basically a jar of pickles. Looking in, everything looks fine, and on the inside, everything is quite smelly and disorderly. Well, I don't think a pickle jar is really disorderly, but you get my point.

Everything that I live for I question, and everything I question I feel like throwing out the door. Are my values being tested? Obviously. I just don't feel like putting up with anything at all, even though nothing has happened. Isn't that a joy? But enough of this confusing shit though, lets get on to life.

Not a whole lot is new. Reading "Interview With A Vampire" for my book report, which is due on Oct. 28th I do believe. Should be interesting, because I've heard its a good book. Been listening to a lot of Finger Eleven lately, quite odd because I haven't listened to them for a good 2-3 years. Also got inspired by the cover of the CD and started drawing some stuff today. Really need to get Squall Leonhart done for Nat, but, I just don't know. I'm determined to do it though, so it will get done no matter what. Also plan on drawing Vivi and Steiner from FF IX, even though Steiner is very stupid.

I think I'll end up sleeping most of my art class tomorrow, first hour, after I glaze my beehive pot . And if it didn't, I'll draw for 10-20 minutes and sleep for the remainder of the 90 minute class. I must start writing my book as soon as football is over, as well as get a job. I've got too many ideas pumping in and out of my head, and I'm afraid I'll lose them even if I do write them down! So peace out for now, I'm tired like a bum whose been train hopping and hasn't gotten sleep for the past 96 hours.

The worst part of it all is that homecoming is this week, which means i'll have no time to myself at all to work on fixing things. Monday-Thursday=football from 3:30 until 6:00, and then work on float from 7:00-9:00. Friday=Homecoming, meaning I won't work at all then. Saturday will be my day of harmony and I can start fixing everything and loading everything back on. Hopefully everything is ready to go. One good thing though, putting XP on this time instead of Windows 98, so I can get Photoshop CS instead of Photoshop 7. >.< Hurrah for me. Good things can come from bad I s'pose.

Ahh! So...tired. I just got back from Florida, well, thursday morning at 1:30. Fell asleep at 2:30, woke up at 6:00 and went to school at 7:00. Thursday night I was up until 12:00 working on homework, woke up at 6:00. Yesterday our varisty football team played at Camp Randall , and I went to a party after and didn't go to sleep until 12:30. I'm still behind on sleep and I really need to catch up!

Other than that, I really need to get going on my art stuff. Art class I just made a clay katana as a plaque type thing..., and now we are making some wierd ass bowl things. I still wish I would have taken a drawing class, but maybe next year. I've got ideas on some work other than the AT/Prize I've got to do, and I've been randomly sketching a lot of things in school, which is starting to piss my teachers off I think. (I filled up half of page on math with a sketch and then the middle of a screen on a piece of paper for info processing > .< and some other various things in my notebook.) Ahh well.

Hopefully I can get everything done soon so I can work on some other little things I want to get doing, such as the contest for ~Liberi-Fatali-Club.

So I'm confused, and I really can't explain why because its not in my authority. Ok ok, it is, but I don't feel like talking about it...I'm really no longer pissed at D.A. for deleting my stuff, although it'd be nice to still have a copy of it. I can't say it wasn't partially my fault for not giving credit (or saying of teh copyright) in the post though. Even though I see so many others who don't do that and get of scott free. Bah, not my problem I guess.

Right now I've got a burning desire to draw 'Black Mage' or 'Vivi' from the Final Fantasy series. I'll probably end up drawing Vivi (my favorite final fantasy character), because Black Mage is 8-bit and it wouldn't take that long to do. But that must wait until tomorrow more than likely. Once I'm done with that I have to get crackin' on Nat's pick. I shame myself for not getting to work on it sooner.

First football game tomorrow. I'm pumped. I'm going to listen to techno all the way to the game, then kick some ass hopefully. I want to play defense more than anything but I don't know if that'll happen for sure or not. Either way, it'll all be fun.

I'm fucking pissed right now. Deviantart held my only copies of "Hiei Background," "Phase: Matrix", and a few other various deviations. Then all of the sudden i get 5 notes saying they don't comply with the rules. BULLSHIT! So 5 deviations get deleted. One I can put back up, the others I can't because like I said, DeviantArt held my only copies, and I have not way of getting them back. If I could attack whoever deleted them, I would bludgeon them to death with my bokken. I'm pissed right now and its going to show at football today. So meh. Nothing else.

I had a lot of fun, demoed a lot of games, including the following: Doom 3, DemonStone , Lineage 2, Everquest 2, City of Heroes, Axis and Allies (RTS), Fable, Mech Assault: Lonewolf, and more. I bought 3 prints, two are japanese style art, and the other being a black and white werewolf with other wolf pups around him. Bought a bokken, < wooden sword used for training>, and some other good stuff. All in all, it was fantastic. <--New favorite word.

Guess what? I've got another vacation coming up! Going to Disney World on the third day of school... I've been there before, so it isn't all that exciting, but I look forward to it anyways! To all you folks out there without a love, Your not missing a whole lot! >.< I know how it is and not much changes! Except you have someone who you want to see a lot and don't always have the chance to.

Football is lethal. My ankles are killing me even though I haven't practiced in 6 days. The brutal pain spewing from them is driving me insane. I would cut off my feet if I thought the pain would be any less. Unlikely that would be so though. I'm pissed because of my ankles, my big toe having a hangnail which I ripped off, now being infected, and the fact that i have a large scratch in my glasses which skews my vision! Sorry to you, ~ hack13 and you, ~kryptics for now starting your drawings. They should be cranked out pretty soon. I have a low self-esteem for stuff right now though, because I need to get prismas.

2 weeks until school starts. Tuesday September 7th. Good god I don't want to go. First hour is art, second hour is information processing, third hour is English (omg yes!), and fourth hour is Algebra. I will hopefully be cranking out more and more artwork once I start art, so if I can get in touch with my inner self and find a scanner, I'll be ready to go.

Bah! I am freakin tired. Football has been killing me, so I apologize for my lack of updates as of late. I've still been checking stuff, I just haven't had any enthusiasm, so I haven't done anything. This week I'm going to GenCon in Indianapolis, so I expect to get some personal drawing done. hack13 and ~kryptics, don't have ink in printer or i'd print some the 2 pics off and get crackin with my ideas.

Anyways, I'm hoping to get started on some stuff tonight, although I'm not sure. We start our 3 hour practices today, rather than last weeks 4 and a half hour practices, so I shouldn't be AS tired, and plus im in shape now. So here ends this reading, from the gospel of our lord.

Wait...God I really did miss church yesterday didn't I? Anyways, Peace out, see you in a week.

Hello!

Whats new you ask? Not a hell of a lot. Work has me tired on the weekends though. Most recent buys are a new disc-man, End of Heartache (CD) by Killswitch Engage, and Underworld. The rest of the money I'm making is going towards GenCon in a few weeks. God I can't wait for it!

At work today I had a great idea for a drawing, something having to do with a water theme and lalala I can't tell you anymore because you'll have to see it when its complete. I may end up using watercolors for it actually, but I've never really used them except when I was little, so I've got no idea what to buy. If anyone could give me a little advice on what to get, I'd appreciate it. Expect that in about a week maybe, because I've got two art trades to do, but I can only do the one at home because I can't print off the picture that I'd use as a reference, (a character that ~hack13 made, I've got a pose and everything figured out, just need to get photographic memory

Hello Again!
I'm wide awake and pretty hyper. Good mood today atleast. Once my mom is home from work, I'm going to go out and buy a new CD player, because mine SUCKS. Also probably going to buy either A) the new Atreyu CD (The Curse) or b) One of the many Opeth CDs.

I'm thinking about drawing a few different things, but I need a rough idea on what exactly it should be. < Note: Traditional drawings.> So let me know what you want to see, and I'll see what I can do for it.

Hello Everyone!
I'm in a rather good mood right now. I fixed my soundcard, so I can finally listen to music again! Weeeee! Other than that, not a whole lot has changed though. I got a new skin for my windows media player, , and am very happy with it. Most skins I can't find crap, but on this one I find it rather easy. You can see it in my desktop screenshot if you'd like.

In deviant news, I am needing to make myself a new ID. I've got an idea, I just need to talk to a friend of mine and set it into action. Hopefully it will work.
