It's been so long since I've made a pointless journal update!

Heyhey DA ( that rhymed omg )

So i just transferred out of SUNY Plattsburgh and into Brooklyn College.
Got the acceptance letter a few days ago- I'll be majoring in creative writing and minoring in fine art. WHOOOOOOO

Lindy and i are shacking up in a city apartment together, finding musicians and finally getting our band OFF THE FUCKING GROUND, WHAT WHAAAAT

Snakes Like Converse has come so far in the past year and a half- it's hard to believe that we haven't even been around for two years yet.
We started this baby band when we were both 17 and I'm just so unbelievably proud of everything we've done â¥.

I don't remember if I mentioned this here or not, but Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy told me he liked my singing voice! Pretty cool, yaah?
I met him twice during FOB's latest tour and he grabbed me during the second M&G and said, "Hey- nice voice, by the way!"
I can't believe he actually checked out Snakes Like Converse's myspace! He's such an amazingly sweet person and my vocal idol. Hearing that kind of compliment from him kind of blew my mind. Especially because he didn't need to say anything to me at all- I didn't even give him a demo or anything. My friend mentioned my band's name to him once, about two weeks prior to him complimenting me. Not only did he remember 'Snakes Like Converse' but he searched for/found our myspace online, listened to us, remembered what I looked like and made a point of telling me that he liked what I was doing musically!

So yeah, heh, life's sweet!

I'm going into Brooklyn this Saturday to look at some apartments, my heart is screaming, "THIS IS RIGHT! THIS IS WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO!"

My life is finally begininng and I'm so happy.

Anyway, yeah, I just started working at my local Dunkin Donuts. The hours are long, but the pay is sweet. I pretty much hate the general public now, though.
EHHHHHHH YARG. it's alright because my friends and I are planning an EPIC 9 day road trip at the beginning of August that I need to save up for!

I've been thinking a lot today. Playing guitar and drawing as well, and I realized that I'm going to miss this teenage pain when it's gone. I'll probably carry it with me into my 20's- Ride it out as long as I can.

Hey guys,
I feel like I need to mention this because many people read my previous journal entry about Steve Fanning, the young boy who died in a fire at my college three nights ago.

Some more information was released today concerning why Steve was the only casualty that tragic night.
It turns out that Steve chose to stay inside the house after it caught fire so that he could go around to every room and make sure everyone had gotten out safely.
Steve's selflessness and compassion ended up costing him his life.

Steve Fanning was a kind boy who died a hero. At 18 years he showed more bravery than most people do in their whole lives.

Rest In Peace Steve.â¥

Last night at 6:00 am the RA on my floor woke everybody up.
She gathered us into the floor's lounge and told us that a boy named Steve Fanning who lived on the fourth floor had died in a frat fire at 4:00, 2 hours earlier.
She was crying and passed around a picture of him.
I knew Steve. We had a few classes together last semester and he sat two seats behind me in History this semester. I had worked with him on a few projects.
We weren't really friends, but he was a constant in my life. Steve lived a floor below me and I always saw him around my dorm building. He was also close with a boy I like named Dan, so I knew him through that.

I don't really know what to do now.
I don't really know how to go back to History class.
He died in a fucking fire. I can't imagine how frightened he must have been.

I tried making myself cry last night, but I just couldn't.
I keep calling my mother, but she's not getting her phone. I really need to talk to someone about this.

O EM GEE GUIZ.
LET ME JUST BRAG FOR A MINUTE.

My friends and I got invited to attend the taping of MTV's New Years Eve Special ( OMG, I KNOW RITE? )
So we went (duh) and got to see The Academy Is..., All Time Low and ( to a lesser extent ) Kevin Rudolf play live on MTV while we danced in the audience.
The experience was sick. It was insane watching my friends and I thrashing around on MTV two nights ago when the special premiered.

So, anyway, last night my friends and I were looking through some of the professional shots of TAI's performance and we saw ourselves in a lot of photos, but these ones were particularly priceless
haha- enjoy!

ANYWAY, that's it- I was just super excited to tell people â¥

SOOOOOOOOOOOO
I finally got the damn thing pierced!
It didn't hurt AT ALL ;D
the guy that pierced me was named Paco and was like, the coolest guy EVER.

He let me hold the clamp before he put the needle through my lip- insane haha!

it's been in for a little less than a day now and it's barley swollen.
I woke up this morning with some crusted blood on the outside of the hole but a gentle wash with warm water and dial soap cleaned that right up.

I also had NO problem sleeping last night. It doesn't even feel like there's anything in my lip! After the horrific experience of getting my nose pierced I am SO relieved that this turned out so amazingly well.

Of course, there's a lot of bruising on the inside of my mouth ( it's a deep purple/blue all along the inside of my bottle lip. )
Honestly, that's a small price to pay for looking bad ass.

The ring isn't going to stay that big either- it's only that size so it can heal correctly. Soon I will change it to a thinner band that's closer to my lip â¥

In addition, Lindy got a tattoo yesterday- we both look pretty thug xD ;

OH! and about 5 minutes after I I put this picture up on my personal journal a person comments, anonymously, with:
"how fucking stupid...get rid of the lip ring and grow the fuck up bitch"

Hahahaha! Is it wrong to be flattered that I am an important enough individual to be harrassed anonymously over the internet?

Last night was
fucking awesome.
not to sound cheesy but
i felt alive for the first time in a long time.

Lindy, Alyse, Katie, Kory, Ryan and Spencer all took the shuttle ( even though Kory and Spencer both had cars ) to the mall where we all saw Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist which was...FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!
GO SEE IT. I'M NOT KIDDING.

then we realized we missed the returning shuttle so we had to walk back to campus. we stopped off at Stuarts half way home and bought snacks for the trip. At one point we were walking down the side of a highway and Ryan kept shouting "CROSS!" and we'd all dart across the road in a bird-like V formation, hahaha
dangerous, but fun.

a little bit later we passed by an abandoned playground and Lindy, Kory, Spencer, Ryan and I ran to it and started playing on the swings and the slide. Alyse and Katie were cold so they walked back to their dorms without us.
On the walk back from the playground Ryan turned to Lindy and I and asked us to go to a frat party with them.

i hadn't ever been to one before so i was nervous, but ryan promised we'd all stay together and we would get a kick out of watching them get drunk, so we said okay.

so, we go to walk to this frat ( it's like, 11:30 pm at this point ) and we get TOTALLY lost for like twenty minutes- but everyone was in a good mood, so we were just enjoying the night.

finally we found the place, but there was a 5 dollar entry fee for people not wearing togas ( haha ) so all the boys payed the fee and started to walk in, but lindy and I didn't have any money so the guy at the door looked at kory and said that we couldn't come in unless we paid.

Then he looked at us and smiled and said, "one dollar for each of them" so Kory gave the guy two bucks and he let us in.
It was a super weird experience, but the guy was nice for letting us in at all and kory was super nice for paying, so it was okay <3

then, as we were walking in, the guy at the door turned to me and said, "he payed for you, you better thank him tonight if you know what i mean" and it was just exceedingly bizarre and hilarious.

anyway, so as soon as we got in all the boys ran for the keg because their only purpose in going to the party had been to get hammered as quickly as possible.
they each downed about six or seven beers and felt pretty good ( lindy and i don't drink, so we just chatted with them while they refilled their cups )

i then got word there was a dance room somewhere in the house so we all went looking for it. We found it a few rooms over from where we were and i realized i knew like, EVERYBODY there!
it was such a nice feeling.
I danced with the friends i met there for a while until i noticed the boys we came with looking a little lonely so i walked back over to them.

we left a little bit later cuz the beer ran out.
on the walk back we decided to make a pit stop at Hawkin's pond and kind of chill out there for a while.
it was fantastic, i love my friends here so much- and the partys here are great!

between my friends keeping an eye on me and the friendly atmosphere of the frat my opinion on college party's has totally changed ;D

oh, and also...
Garth ( SLC's bass player ) can put a drum kit in his apartment, and Lindy and I can bring a drum kit back with us after going home for Columbus day in a week
which means...

WE HAVE A FULL BAND AGAIN WAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!
Also? our new song is almost done and it's catchy as FUCK

So, I was searching "Snakes Like Converse" on google ( because I'm a narcissistic whore ) and I see a thread about us on gaia.com
( that should have been my first clue to disregard it ).

So I open it up like a...well, narcissistic whore, and there's this girl asking if anyone likes Snakes Like Converse cuz we're her "favorite band."

yeah.
ALLLL hell broke lose.

The insults ranged from calling us "shit" to "I HATE THEM"
but my personal favorite was, "The lead singer looks like a guy."

Is it wrong to be excited that we're big enough to have people hate us so much?

I'm so excited :3

Oh! Also? We found a new second guitarist!
and we might be touring in November!

so, i'm sitting and typing this from my friend Alyse's computer in her dorm.

last night my friends and i took a shuttle to bed bath and beyond and i bought myself an aero mattress.
we also went to friendly's.

i'm the happiest i've been in a long time. the band is going amazingly. everything finally feels okay, not great, and definitely not perfect.
but okay. and that's a lot for me, so i'm going to take it.

Alyse ordered chinese food and it just got here.
my friends and i are gonna go eat it and watch 'The Office' in the dorm's lounge.

yeah. things are definitely okay ;D

My band, Snakes Like Converse, has spent the entire summer thus far re-recording our old music as well as writing new music to put on our myspace.

Recently the band has come to the decision that since we are re-recording all of our old music to make it sound better, we might as well redesign our myspace to make it look more polished as well!

So, on that note, Lindy and I have decided to hold the:

WHOOHOO!!

What this means is that Snakes Like Converse needs a hot-ass banner to proclaim our band name across the top of our myspace page!

If some people still aren't sure what I'm talking about, here's an example of a very well done top banner for a music myspace account: [link]

The WINNER of the contest will have their banner displayed as the top banner across our music-myspace page. In addition the WINNER will have a link to a personal website of their choosing displayed next to their name in the 'credit' section of our page!

( EXAMPLE: "Thank you so much Jane Doe for designing our top banner! Here is some more of her amazing work: www. janedoephotography .com" )

Our music myspace gets about 50-70 hits on an average day. If nothing else winning this contest will do wonders for your exposure, especially if you do a great job on the banner :3

This journal entry goes out anyone participating in or considering entering the SLC top-banner contest I am currently running ( DETAILS BELOW ).

Just to let ya'll know, yesterday marked the ONE WEEK point until the dead line of this contest. So get crackin' on those banners!

The dead line for the contest is AUGUST 17TH.

and for some EXTRA INTENSIVE to begin/finish your banner submission...

SNAKES LIKE CONVERSE WAS ASKED MY SKRATCH MAGAZINE ( an indie/punk webzine ) TO PUT SOME ORIGINAL SONGS ON THE FAMED 'WARPED TOUR COMPILATION CD' FOR INDIE BANDS.

This means that on the final date of Warped Tour ( August 17th, oddly enough ) a CD with THREE SLC SONGS on it will be handed out to people/bands currently attending the Vans Warped Tour.

Snakes Like Converse also nabbed an interview with SKRATCH which will be featured on their website ( ---> [link] )

ALSO! SLC JUST GOT INTERVIEWED FOR THE EXAMINER NEWSPAPER. THE ARTICLE ON US WILL BE RELEASED THIS TUESDAY!

What does this mean for people entering the contest...?

IN THE COMING WEEK SLC'S MYSPACE IS GOING TO GET SOME MAJOR EXPOSURE. If your art adorned the top of our myspace it would also mean MAJOR EXPOSURE for you!

ALSO! Even if you enter and you don't win the contest your art will be featured in our new and improved FAN ART SECTION! GO CHECK IT OUT!

I've also redesigned our CREDIT section to make sure everyone entering the contest feels secure that their name will be seen and their art will be appreciated as theirs

i feel like i'm learning to walk again.

two days ago one of my best friends called my boyfriend and told him a list of lies about me.
i don't know why she did this, and i don't really want to know why. but it hurt me more then anything i have ever experienced.

i refused to respond to her attacks because i didn't want to get involved in the drama. last night she drove to my boyfriend's house to show him how my friends and i had been attacking her through the internet- an act i had absolutely no part in.

after my boyfriend called me to tell me about this i began to cry and called my dad to say hello.
while talking to him he informed me that my step mother's father, William, had suffered a heart attack about 15 minutes before i called.

he called me back 30 minutes later to tell me William passed away.

he then informed me that he, my sister and my step mother were flying to Singapore the next morning to attend the funeral and they would all be absent from my graduation party.

I then came home to a response left for me here on DA from my so-called friend telling me to never speak to her again.

i cried for four hours last night and vomited the one meal i could stomach into the grass while talking to my boyfriend.

i've never had anything like this happen to me before.
i feel like i have to learn how to feel normal all over again.

HELLO DA!!!

So okay, today I'm driving around in my home town of good ol' Mount Kisco when....
I NEARLY HIT A FAMILY WALKING ACROSS THE STREET YAY 8D !!!

Let me explain...

Alright. Because I was superbly lame all summer and most of my senior year I JUST started learning how to drive last week.

Today was my second session with my driving teacher.

So, he's a pretty crazy dude and decides that I'm experienced enough to drive from my house in North Salem to Mount Kisco ( a 15 minute drive, mostly highway ) and then proceed to drive around Kisco for a hour in traffic after only sitting in a car once before in my entire life.

So, yeah. I do it because I have to and by the end of the first hour driving I'm a nervous wreck.
So, I'm all tense and taking a back road out of Kisco that I'm not familiar with when I see a cross walk ahead and a family standing to the right of it.

I slow my car down to a stop to let them pass.

...I wait.

....They don't move.

...I wait more.

...They MAKE EYE CONTACT WITH ME, acknowledge I'm there and continue to stand still.

My teacher says, "hit the gas" so I start to drive ( kind of fast cuz I'm still learning how to ease on the excellerator ) when all of a sudden the entire family fucking RUNS IN FRONT OF MY CAR.

I'M NOT KIDDING. IT'S GOING TO SOUND LIKE I'M BULLSHITTING, BUT I'M COMPLETELY SERIOUS. FUCKING RAN IN FRONT OF MY CAR.

So I screech to a stop about a foot in front of a twelve year old boy and they all fucking STOP AND LOOK AT ME WITH THESE HORRIFIED EXPRESSIONS.

I nearly pissed myself.
It was horrible.

My driving teacher like, completely swore them out though so that made me feel better, kind of. KIND OF.

Geezus.
Is this normal behavior of pedestrians?
Not that I can really talk.
I've ran in front of my fair share of cars.

Uugh,though. Uugh.

So. I modeled for a salon yesterday and they died my hair for free. It was a sweet deal. I told them they had permission to do whatever they wanted.
and they kinda made me blonde -

WAAhhhahaha. Kinda funny. There's a blood red color underneath on both sides. I like it.
Lindy says it makes me look older. Niice.

So bleh. I feel kind of like a fabrishe egg.

Prom is looming ever closer and it's scaring me.

Okay, so yeeeeah.

I saw 'The Academy Is...' live at the Nokia Theater last night.
and yeah. It was essentially the best show of my life.

I just....gaaahhhh, I can't even explain!
Sherwood and The Rocket Summer were so amazing- I'm so happy this concert introduced me to them.
and you know what? I'm just gonna make a list.

+ The members of Sherwood are the nicest guys ever.
+ The Rocket Summer makes some of the best music I've ever heard.
+ The Academy Is... wins the award for 'best live performance'
+ I'm telling you, if they ever play near you GO SEE THEM.

You know what? The list isn't working either. There are just too many good things to say about this tour. KSAHDFSHGKF.

~Devispooky777, ~Pie-Is-Life and I are going to see them again in two weeks when they play in Long Island.
I would go see every performance of this show if I could. Amazing doesn't even cut it.
We're planning to skip school and take the train down to Long Island in the morning and wait out all day so we can get right up front.

and COBRA STARSHIP ARE PLAYING AT THE NEXT SHOW! Man- could this get any better?

Oh, so speaking of Cobra Starship, I got home from the show last night at about 1:30 am, and I see my pre-ordered copy of Viva La Cobra! finally came.
So I get all excited and pull it out when I notice something stuck to the back...
I pull it off and turn it around...
AND IT'S ONE OF THE 500 POLAROIDS.
I was freaking out. I was convinced I wouldn't get one.
and get this, it was number 32 of the 500. Insane.

I woke up with a fever.
An actual fever, the likes of which I haven't experienced since I was very young.
I felt dizzy and disoriented and just generally shitty.

Then 4:00 rolled around and ~Pie-Is-Life, ~DeviousWarlock13, ~Devispooky777 and Pilar showed up at my house to make sure I was alright.
They brought me ice cream with peanut butter sauce, hot fudge and m&ms.
At 4:30 ~Animefreaktose called me to tell me that she and =akureikarasu set up my AP Art project in class even though I wasn't in school, and that it was well received by my peers. =akureikarasu told me she was proud of my work.

Then my Grandma called me at 5:00 and told me that my little sister recognized me in a photograph and started shouting 'Sissy!" earlier today...and I just about started crying.

Because...I'm kind of the luckiest person ever.

And 'Thank you' kinda doesn't even come close to cutting it â¥

I love, love, love all of you. I can't even explain.

Ahoy guys! Long time no talk, I've been missing you

Anywhoo, I have a question:
Are any of you guys having issues with scraping things lately?
Did DevART change it's whole 'take scraps off your main page' thing? Because I wanted to scrap some poetry I submitted recently so it wouldn't be visible on my page, but I added it to scraps a good four days ago and it's still in my gallery.

Also, ~Pie-Is-Life scrapped two of her pieces a good three weeks ago, and they're all still on her main page as well.
Is this some new thing I've missed?
I really don't want to delete my poem entirely for the people who enjoyed it, but I don't want it to be shown with my photography either.

Short entry. My head still hurts xD.

Fall Out Boy performed at 7:30 a.m. on the Today show yesterday morning. ~Pie-Is-Life and I camped out on the sidewalk from 11:00 p.m. the night before to get as close as possible.
We ended up not being that close at all because the VIP section was enormous and obnoxious.
We all screamed 'THE REAL FANS ARE IN THE BACK' the entire show and made them feel uncomfortable though, so that was fun.
( Also Andy and Pete totally pandered more toward the people behind the VIPs. Pete came back and signed autographs for us, and Andy threw his drum stick back to where we were. _{The girl right in front of me caught it T__T~} )

So, all in all the performance itself wasn't that great, but I met some of the most KISS ASS people in the world waiting on line!
They were amazing, I can't wait to hang out with them again.
Waiting for eight hours outside in the rain in NYC was worth it because of them.
This was seven out of eight of us on the line about 5 minutes before we got into the venue to see FOB. We hadn't slept in 24+ hours, we were stuck in the rain for about three of those hours, and we still look sexy as hell:

Yestarday was the Fourth of July and I didn't leave the house x__x.
This upsets meeee.
BUT! I did see some fireworks two nights ago with my old posse from when I was like...seven, so that was INSANLEY awesome <333

I missed those guys so much.
The group consisted of mostly my parent's friends who helped raise me, along with my OLD school buddies who I've grown up with from infancy.
I've missed seeing the annual fireworks with them for the past two years so...yeah, it was amazing to be back in that old neck of the woods.

Sooo...today is the first day of my summer painting class.
It was supposed to be last week, but the insane rainage stopped it from happening.

So yeah...that's later today, followed by a SUPER AWESOME TOP SECRET IZZY EVENT THAT WILL BE ELABORATED ON IN FUTURE UPDATES BUT WILL BE KEPT UNDER WRAPS FOR NOW >D!!!!
Oh snap. YOU CURIOUS!?

Well, it will be teh awesome.
And I wont be able to stop talking about it after it happens, so look foward to that my sexy journal-readers.

Hmmm....whut else? Nothing much has been happening in my life.

I just had some sort of horrible/hilarious emo dancing fit about an hour ago to My Chemical Romance's 'I'm Not Okay' ( which is still the only song I've ever heard by them by the way. )
So that was fun, and kind of tired me out....xD

BLLAAAAAHH, I feel dirty. I bummed around ~Devispooky777's house all morning and didn't clean myself after our wild night together. So, in conclusion, I need to bathe.
I ate reeses PB cup brownies yesterday and they were hella delicious.
They were fun to make. Lindy, Devi and I actually sat there and broke up the cups ourselves before cooking them into the brownies. AWESOME TIIIMMEEEZ.

I apologize for this spazzy post, but I need to get it out, and I love all you guys so I know I'm talkin' to a good crowd ;D.

wAHAHA. I sweared.
Today ~Pie-Is-Life started teaching me how to play the gui-tar.
It's super fun, but maaan does it kill the ol' fingers!
I've decided as of right now in my training that the A chord is the motherfucking devil.
And do not pardon my french, because it's true.
G major is nice and easy...but that freaking A cord.
HOT DAMN.
It makes my poor digits cry.

So, yeah. Fun times.
I'm a bit delirious and drunk on internet fumes, so forgive my rants and ravings.

I'm so sick....
I can't remember the last time I felt this bad.

Last night was terrible. I woke up and vomited literally every half hour. And when I didn't have any food left in my stomach, I began violently dry heaving until my stomach cramped up and I couldn't breath.
I barley got any sleep...everytime I'd doze off I'd be forced awake by another wave of nausea and run to the bathroom.
It was horrible...I couldn't even brush my teeth to clean my mouth out because then I'd throw up the toothpaste...

I'm up now because I just can't try to sleep any more. The vomiting has subsided, but my entire stomach is tight and my chest burns. my throat and head are also throbbing, I've lost my voice...

Oh God, I hate this... I hate this...
