I can only blame his father for the disrespect he shows his elders and family. Every day it breaks my heart because he draws further and further from us, I only imagine what my sister must feel. Now as the season of brotherly love and hope has past, my hope that he will grow out this attitude goes with it. It seems that the times of respect has passed as well. I look out everyday and see kids that curse thier fathers, strike their mothers, and GET AWAY with it. A simple slap on the rear, or worse case scenario, across the face, would have fixed these problems swiftly when I was growing up.
