Well, I figured that it would be wise to catalogue my Wednesday, now that I am starting to get over the injuries induced by said day.

Well. Woke up Wednesday morning to the thought of shopping. Now, normally that wouldn't phase me, but for some reason it didn't seem like a good idea that dya.

So, I got up, made coffee, and found out that my dog had, during the night, pulled all my bras off the line overnight and destroyed them. Ripped them apart. Even the very expensive one that my grandmother bought me just last year, and the ones my aunt gave to me.

So I had to go without my brother's birthday pressie in order to buy just one. $40/$200 of grocery money for the month gone.

As I was leaving the front yard, as I do, my dog sliped out with me. As he does. Only this time he decided he wasn't going to come back. No. He was going to go for a wander and damn the stupid human yelling at him to get beck inside.

So I trailed him to the corner, where he decided to run out into the road. He (unfortunately) avoided the cars, and I had to chase him around the block. Twice. On my sore foot.

These are not city blocks, at 100m/side. These are country blocks, at min. 1km/side.

By the time I caught the little bastard, I had lost my thongs, which I had to throw to keep up with him, and there were all sorts of people laughing at me chasing what looked like a dingo and yelling at him to come back.

I'd have let him just go, but he is a very recognisable dog, and his tag has my number on it.

So I had to carry the little bastard the half-block home, already exhausted and without shoes. I was limping because the bottom of my foot had split open again and I can't walk on it.

So I finally dragged the little bastard home, ignoring his teeth as they sank into my arm and his claws as they ripped up the side of my leg. I limped the 2.3km down to the shops, because I desperately needed food. Even the bastard mongrel needed food (bye bye, another $25)

Now, avoiding stepping on my heel, where the split is, meant that I needed to walk on my toes, and I did (after getting another pair of thongs) all the way to the shops, through the open-air mall and through K-mart.

Now, the result of doing that is that, even when being careful to gently place my foot on the floor, the muscle in the back of my calf no longer allows me to put my foot flat on the ground with out waves of pain radiating up through my leg. And, seeming as I can't walk properly becuase of that and the split, the muscle on the other leg is starting to do that too.

In plain, I hobbled my way to Uni yesterday because I needed to go, but I am not going today. What for? It's only a very boring movie and a more-boring lecture.

As for my arm, his teeth only broke the skin in a couple of places, so I just cleaned the blood from them and told people I was savaged by a dingo.

Which is, in part, true.

Within every writer is a land deeply magical and truly original. It is the land their imagination flocks to when they set down to write. It is the only land they can think of. It is the land in which they dwell for their entire lives. It is the land of their heart, mind and soul. It is their saving grace, their greatest vanity, their worst vice. It is their greatest asset and their biggest saving grace. There is nothing in the world they would trade their world for, nothing they could trade it for. It is their world, only theirs, with input and influence from no one. Their readers may read of it, imagine it, but they will never live it like their writers. It is their hearts in words, their minds on paper, their souls bound in leather.
It is their Middle Earth, their Old Kingdom, their Narnia, their Terabithia. It is their land. And there is nothing greater in the world than the feeling of saying that their Discworld is their own world, that their Hogwarts is their kingdom, their Tortall their country.
Bring your imagination to life and create your own immortal country, whether for only one small play or forty long books. Spend your time inhabiting another world, your life dwelling in the stars, your existence dwelling on your subjects. Spend your time sailing seas, scaling mountains, exploring valleys. Live among your people, live with your people, live as your people. Suffer, succeed, feel as they do, and you will feel their joy and sorrow, their grief and happiness, their pain and pleasure.
So if you ever feel that there is nothing left in you to write, nothing left to imagine, nothing to create, simply think of the world your mind imagines and write it out. Write your heart, your mind, your soul out on paper. Write until you feel there are no words in your soul. If you can think, you can write.
All you have to do is try.
To fly, all you need are your dreams and a good push.

And you WILL, one day, write your very own Neverland.

been skipping the essays i should have been doing over the weekend, and an stressing now. bad me. But I spent 3 days sketching the Great Hall of Hogwarts from myt mind how I always imagined it (i refused to think of the movies. Besides, they only play in my laptop [stupid dvd player] and i was using that as the light i was drawing by when it started gettign too dark to see [9pm-about 330am when i collapsed over it, to wake up at 7am and startt again]) and I am so proud of it. I even did a watercolour twice, simply because I knocked water over the first one (only 1/2 done, thank the gods). Any other thing i would have just gone "stuff it" and forgotten about it.

Everyone loves it. Senay and Ash saw it this morning (the sketch, i forgot to bring the watercolour) and their comments were "I can see why it took you three days!" Jemma (girl in my hist class) said "you are definately in the wrong course. you should be doing the art course!" and Renea (another woman in my class) agreed.

You're all going to shoot it down now, I can feel it.

Anyway, I thought this was funny:

In an article, i found this on Pokemon (I'm researching for my Asian Studies Assignment. Really, I am. So was the last 27 hours playing Pokemon Diamond. I swear ):

{"I like to collect them because it's a really big fad," says Mahira Sobral, herself a past Beanie Baby collector. "When it runs out, I'll have basically all the cards I have now."

And what is she going to do with them when they are no longer popular?

"I'll do something like put 'Fad 1999' on them," she says...

Some things are popular for shorter amounts of time, and then they run out. But this is really unusual, because it's been going on for a few years now.}

This was in 1999, just before the 1st Pokemon movie came out. The entire tone of the article says that it'll be dead in about a year, as influenced by the 'Fad 1999' mentioned in the article.

That's 9 years ago, it's been 12 since the first Pokemon game was launched ('96), and, although the cards have basically died, the games, anime and manga of pokemon is as strong as ever. Although taken over by things like HP and LotR, even simple music and technology like the iPod, Pokemon has survived beyond the thoughts of all the people who first saw it come out. *raises hand guiltily* And, even bigger, it has survived *to the same level* world-wide for 12 years (10 if you're talking about the world-wide release). This is completely unheard of anywhere.

I hade my birthday on Monday. I can now legally wander into the bottleshop down the end of my street and buy cruisers! Yay. I can also buy scratchies! W00t!!

I feel so adult now. Not that I act it. Pssht. I don't think I'll act like an adult when I'm 86. Sheesh.

I got a puppy for my birthday! He's a Kelpie/Collie cross, with ginger fur. Want to imagine him? Look for the picture of a dingo. That is exactly what he looks like. No kidding.

He's being a shit atm. He's been chewing things, digging and waking me up at 7am. Not good on a day off. If he wasn't so unco-ordinated that it's redundant, I'd throw him off my bed. He falls off on his own.

However, he cowers when you touch his ears or the scruff of his neck. We think he was annoyed by young kids before mum got him, and they seemingly pulled at him so much they hurt him. He also had fleas and worms before mum got him (she killed them off), so we know he wasn't looked after properly. Apparently when mum got him, his sister tried to kill him when he was led away and she wasn't.

Mum and dad arrived on Saturday, around dinnertime, having driven all day to come and see me. Friday morning it rained. Jokingly, I txted my dad and asked if mum was coming up before it rained. When he got here he said he panicked and thought someone had told me! He rang up as he was driving down the streeet and said "If you open the gate I'll buy you pizza." I went out and opened it to find him turning into my driveway. I knew it!

We went out to a posh Italian restauraunt for dinner on Monday, and mum made the mistake of saying it was my 18th when the owner asked if we were there froa special occasion. At the end of dinner they brought out a mudcake and sang happy birthday. Even the 4 blokes on the next table over, the only other people in the restauraunt started singing. my brother buried his face in the crook of his arm and laughed, my sister lasted a little longer before she joined him, and I sat looking at the wall, my face red and a smile tufgging my lips.

Mum asked if we were paying for the cake and dad replied "If we are, it'll be bloody worth it!" and started laughing. Bastards.

So what else did I get for my 18th? My aunt bought me a ring with 18 on it, my friend bought me a ring with rainbow stones on it, my grandmother imported an expensive-looking bracelet from England, as you can't get it here, my other aunt bought me... dun dun duh... JELLY BELLY JELLY BEANS!!!!!!!!! I love her so much!!!! She also bought me Pratchett books, but they pale compared to JELLY BELLY BEANS!! I walked around calling them Bertie Botts Beans all day. I still have half the box. Yum yum.... tell you what, if Luke, my dog, gets them, he's dead.

Lol. Last dog to enter my family is a huskie called Leia, she's my uncle's. I got Luke. Luke and Leia Skywalker. Yeah, can you tell my family are Star Wars nuts? I would have called hum Lucifer but dad already had the tag made. So I call him Lucus when he's being an arse. Like digging up the back yard.

Oh, adn he doesn't puppy-dead (go to sleep for 8 hours where you can do anything to him and he does nothing.) Side-effect to his previous hectic life, I think.

Gotta go, class is over.

ETA: His new name is now Lukus Lupis.... Lucas the Dog... heh. Can you tell I've been palying with Latin in mystories again? Got my exam back, the one I had on my bday for Histoy. 46/50. next closest score was 43. Muahahahahahahaha I am the Queen of Ancient History!!!

Next up on the sylabus for History: Rome and Arthur. Oh shit. Cynic subjects, here I come *feigns excitement* *rolls eyes*

Moonlight is so cool. I love vampire shows. Not only is this a new play on vampires, but they introduce them as something almost ... different to the vampires of Underworld, or the Blade trilogy, or even Queen of the Damned. Vampires living amongst us is something I find brilliant, despite it being one of the more used points of vampires. Well, all of them have it, making you think of how they could live well among us. But it is cool. Moonlight's portrayal of modern vampires - teachers, blood cult leaders, club owners, PIs, stockbrokers, bodyguards, courtessas-turned-dead-but-really-alive, doctors, priests, teenagers (imagine being stuck as a 16yo boy for the rest of eternity!!), old rocket scientists - are excellent and cover a nice wide range.

The first episode is especially powerful. I know, I know, the first ep can make or break a series, but I think they surpassed the normal standards for first eps. I liked the scenes of Beth's kidnappings. The professor was creepy, though he was one of the people I wouldn't have been amazed if Mick had broken his nose. He deserved the wake up call, I must admit.

Now, the second episode continued the trend. I was amazed that Mick's vampirism was shared with the love-interest, but it did come in useful. I love that end scene. I love it. Really. Vampires FTW!!

I love the make up for the vampires. Does anyone know where I can get a hold of a pair of dental caps they used for the vampire teeth? I'm serious.

Maybe I'll draw a vampire. See how good I've become at human-based creatures.
