I just wanted to wish a happy thanksgiving to all of you guys, I’m thankful for a bunch of stuff this year.

So time for an update, since I haven’t updated in almost 4 months. In August I got a job at a music store near my house, and yesterday I lost that job because the store is closing down, which the boss didn’t tell anyone… so that kind of sucked. But while at the store I started learning bass which is pretty fun, hopefully I can pick up a decent amp at guitar center tomorrow.

School wise everything is pretty much the same, except for some reason I’m just not liking math this year which is strange because that used to be my favorite subject :/ I did take the SAT though and got a 2020 on it, which is ok I guess.

As you can tell I haven’t had much time for art. I’ve been doodling and messing around with styles a lot, but nothing worth posting lol, but I have to draw a picture for my uncle (since he got me a bunch of copics for my birthday weee) so hopefully I can post that soon. And photography wise I found a really good book called “the complete photographer” by Andreas Feininger which I suggest that all of you shutter bugs read

So I guess that pretty much sums up the past four months lol, hopefully I can start posting more stuff soon. If I can’t post anything until winter break, I wish all of you in school good luck on your finals and hope that you guys take care of yourselves.

Sooo, my junior year of school started last week :/
I'm pretty sure that this year isn't going to be a good one school wise, I like most of my teachers( mainly my Spanish and math teachers, they're pretty awesome), but some of them are kind of eh.

I'm really going to try to make this a good year for everything else though. I'm pretty much spending every ounce of freetime that I have doing something. I'm trying to get a hella lot better at clarinet so I can pwn me some nub cakes at the symphony I'm in and all-state. Oh yeah, I don't think that I ever posted this on here [link] we played rhapsodey in blue last school year and I had the solo, yeeaaaaah uber failz on itz. I've also been practicing anatomy a lot, which is why I haven't updated any art stuff in a while I really want to just nail the basics before I post anything art-wise again. I've also started working at the local music store, which is a relatively easy gig most of the time (just sitting around, watching hulu/studying) except for the beginning of the school year, when every person on the earth needs to rent an instrument. Princeton review is another thing that is sucking up some time. My parents for some reason decided that I need to get the national merit scholarship thing, but iunno if I can raise my scores by 50-100ish points :/ .

So pretty much the whole point of this is that I'm saying I'm busy, sooo I probably won't submit anything for a while . I'm going to start reading a bunch of photography books and try to improve myself that way since I've never really read anything on photography except for the basic "rule of thirds" thing.

So I really hope that I'll be able to post something soon, but if not I'll post the photos that I'm thinking about entering in the canon contest after the judging is over. I hope that you all have a safe end of summer, and a good school year.

For drawing people..
Ok so, I'm going to try to do a livestream at 8pm (mountain time MINUS DAYLIGHT SAVINGS, so just subtract an hour from what it says on mountain time and that should give you the right time ) , unless something pops up in which case I'll do it tomorrow at the same time. I know it's kind of short notice but hopefully you guys see this in time if you want to see me draw... Just so you know what I'm drawing right now is mainly just scribbles on the canvas, because everytime that I've planned something out recently hasn't gone well, so I took 's advice and just kind of spu-glurred something onto the page.
I'll probably start a little earlier than 8, so in case there are any problems with the broadcast I can fix them before 8

For Photo people..
On the note of livestream, I might do a photography livestream at some point, where I'll just show the steps of editing and such, if anyone is interested in that.

Also here are some cool contests/places that hold contests that I found

For those that are really hardcore - [link] - You have to make a photo book using their software, and it needs to be either fine art, editorial, or commercial. The deadline is in 17 days unfortuneatly, and there is an entry fee, but the grand prize is $25,000. This is a yearly contest I think, so if you don't have time for it this year just build up a portfolio for next year! (I probably won't enter this since I don't think I'd have a chance/ I don't have enough time I think, I might try next year though )

ITFPC - [link] - Basically you have to take "fashion" photos in 4 different locations, in one of the cities on the list. My city isn't on the list, but if I happen to go to one before the deadline (october 1st) I'll try to take some pics . And there's no entry fee! So if you do live in one of the cities/near one I suggest that you definitely try entering!

Nature's best backyard photo - [link] - Basically you just have to take a photo of nature in your backyard, I think that there's a small entry fee and I don't think that they have mentioned the prize yet (but they might have, I didn't really read it thoroughly >_>; ). I'll probably try to enter this one, AND YOU SHOULD TOO O=<

Smithsonian Magazine contest - [link] - The Natural World, Americana, Altered Images, Travel and People are the categories (details on what is what here - [link]). Sadly you have to be 18 or older to enter :/

Your best shot - [link] - I don't think that there is really a deadline, they just do it monthly. basically just submit your best shot

The everyman contest - [link] - This is an amateur photo contest that they hold once a year. Iunno much about entering and prizes since they don't announce this years contest until July first, but it looks interesting =O

Photopro contest - [link] - They haven't announced it yet, but I think that they usually have monthly contests, and they'll announce the new contest on july first. The contest that they just finished looked cool though =O

Sooo, I hate dentists.
I just got back from dentist appointment and they told me that I have a random extra tooth that they didn't notice until now -___- I've already had two oral surgeries done (a tooth extraction where three teeth were pulled then a "tooth excavation" where they cut open my gums so the adult teeth could come in faster) and to put it simply... they aren't fun. I'm at least hoping that they'll knock me out or have some other means of making me not feel the pain where I don't need needles driven into my gums. Luckily they haven't said anything about my wisdom teeth yet ..... I'm sure that'll happen next appointment. Oh and I'm not happy, the mood thing is just messed up, if it weren't it would be more like "In a fetal position trying to hide from the scary people wearing masks"

Sooo, my friend made a livestream account and she's going to do a drawing broadcast this tuesday at 1pm Mountain time [link] She did a test yesterday and it was pretty cool =O . She told me to make one so I did >_>; [link] . I don't know when I'm going to make a broadcast, I might do some tests today and throughout the week. I'll let those that are interested know when I do one =O. Also if you guys make/have one let me know

Ok enough drawing stuff. Life is pretty good right now, summer school is over, and transformers 2 comes out on friday 8DDDD. I also found some new bands that I like such as, 8eight [link] Perfume [link] and Los Campesinos! [link]c4GethJnBg . Soo I guess that's it for now, going to try to take some more pics today, I've decided to start bringing my camera with me almost everywhere I go, since there are so many photo ops that I miss when I don't have it with me :<

Here's some random stuff

So I just watched Defiance, It was a great movie in my opinion, pretty morbid though.
I might be selling my old copy of CS3 extended soon and, if my dad agrees to letting us get iPhones (which he said we would be getting them in a month....... 6 months ago) I'll can sell my ipod touch, which is good since I just ran out of space on it so I need the 32 gigs >_>; Sadly I won't be spending the money on camera/art stuff, but Clarinet stuff =O a new bell and barrel to be exact (seen here [link]). I played with my instructor's set once and they make a Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge difference in tone, and tonguing (which is strange since it doesn't mess with the mouth piece/ree/ligature set up at all lol). Speaking of Camera stuff though I was looking at the canon site today, looking at the 5D and there was an add for a contest that canon is having. It ends on September 30th, and there are two divisions, teen (13-17) and adult (18-death bed). You have to take a picture (digital or film, it has to be submitted as a Jpeg file though) of a local, city, county, state, or national Park or a national monument in the United State. The grand prize (of both divisions) is the Canon EOS 5D Mark II DSLR, EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM kit lens, Canon PIXMA pro9500 Mark II printer, a trip for two from the closest airport to any participating national park with hotel paid for 5 days/ 4 nights and park entrance fee. Second place is the Canon 50D, EF-S 17-55mm IS USM lens, and PIXMA pro9500 Mark II printer. Third place is the Canon Rebel T1i, EF-S 17-85mm IS USM lens, and the canon PIXMA pro9500 printer....... Wow
I'm going to try to enter a variety of photos from different parks/monuments (since you can enter 10 photos). I just happen to have the world's largest City park about a 10 minute walk from my house lol, and I might go to San Francisco so the Golden Gate might be photographed, and I might go to lee's ferry which is part of the Grand Canyon National Park I think. So that should be fun, I don't think that I'll win but maybe I'll get in the final top ten of teens, Iunno we'll see. Good luck to anyone else who decides to enter =O

I also looked at IS lenses, tripods, and flash units..... I needz moniez, maybe I can sell a kidney on the black market, hmmmmm.....

I'm working on 4ish drawings at the moment, kind of like how they are turning out, but it's usually the digital end where that goes south, but I'm going to try to experiment more with line weight and colors with these. And hopefully I can find a way to take pictures of people without everyone going "o_O"
