It's been a very long time since I've written a journal entry, just wanted to take this chance to thank everyone who's continuing to enjoy and support my art. I know it's taken a turn to a more illustrative style and that's because I've been enjoying figuring out concepts that are more character driven as opposed to my vector painted style which is more symbolic using objects. I really really hate saying no to people who ask me if they can use my work for websites and other stuff even if they will credit me (which btw sometimes never happens!) so just please stop asking so that I don't have to say no to you and put us both in an awkward position. I don't watermark my illustrations because I really hate the look of all types of watermarks so please just respect this wish of mine. I really hate seeing my work used without permission, and in a not so very flattering edited way, it's just upsetting to see something I worked hard on get manipulated.

So the new year is just around the corner, actually closer than that..only 2 more days to go. I just wanted to take this chance to say that it's been an incredible year for me artistically. 30,000+ page views and two DD's this year alone and most importantly I was able to discover a new way of vectoring which all started with my 'beautiful day' piece.

I thank all of you for your incredible support which I truely appreciate and without it I doubt I would have continued to be as active as I've been.

Hopefully 2007 will be as exciting and as wonderful if not better.

I have recieved several requests to create a tutorial on how to do what I would like to call 'vector painting'. The best I can do for now is show you the making of my latest illustration which happens to be one of my all time fav piece of illustration that I have personally done.

You'll see the progress of that particular piece and how it starts from simple outlines which Is mostly done using the pen and pencil tool and then slowly I work my way around it and then get into the details of adding various shades by using the default illustrator brushes to give it a more dinamic look.

As I pointed out earlier , I am back home now in Oman chilling, relaxing and hanging out with friends and family and it feels great to be here again after 7 months of being away.

The best new feature in my opinion is the 'embed' coding..it will make posting my work on websites, especially blogs much easier so yeah..that's awsome.
