Her little two year old niece is missing! D: This is not a joke!

Her name is Jada Justice; she also goes by JJ, she's 2-years-old and around 3ft tall. She was last seen at Glen Park Gas on the corner of Louisiana and Ridge Rd. around the Gary/Hobart/Portage area. She went missing around 10pm Tuesday (June 16).

She was wearing a multi-colored outfit with a matching skirt and jacket, she had a white tank top and sandals and was wearing purple underwear.

WARNING: THIS IS REEEEEALLY LONG.

Amy: I promised myself I'd write this today...10 days after the convention ended.

Okay, well, me and Charlotte (who cosplayed Cardcaptor Sakura, so awesome) were really late to the train station both days. >___> Which made me realise I'm actually a really crap friend. :'D I feel so sorry for my friends.

On saturday (with Nicnic, her dad, her little sister, =lithium-reverie, ~Rei-pon, ~jagz12201 and =AlecBell) we ran around lookin and stuff as usual, taking pictures, surprisingly not spending that much. Well, I did spend more than half my money on this awesome little strawberry capelet by the amazing *kickass-peanut.
I was wearing the most painful shoes though, by the end of the day I could hardly keep up with everyone (especially running for trains), expo = not the best occasion to try wearing high heels for the first time.

Eep, when we went outside at the excel centre, well, if you've never been, there's a section with all these trees, and then the river. We wanted to go take a break over by the river.

Now, the trees were surrounded at the base and on the pavement by what appeared to be little piles of bits of leafy stuff or whatever, only by the genius of Nicole did we realise...they were actually caterpillars. SWARMING. EVERYWHERE. We found out that they had been dropping from the trees, it was a masacre, and it was seriously freaky. (Obviously we legged it outta there and got as far away as possible. xD)

I got a bit of one on me, and being the wimp I am, I screamed like a baby in a supermarket. |D

Then, uhh, on Sunday it was me, Nicnic, =lithium-reverie, ~Rei-pon and ~mimf55, it's kinda nice to have a smaller group. ¦3 I wore my capelet on that day too, fond memoriiiies~ except later in the day Ukelaylathon (BRAND NEW nickname for ~Rei-pon ) lost her wallet with her oyster card and all her monehs. D: Nicnic had a great idea to buy her a present though, so we got her a mokona bag. : D

A lot more spending on that day, we also ran into ~jagz12201 and drew at the artist alley for a bit. We didn't go outta the excel centre at all, I think the caterpillars unnerved everyone. xD

Amy: ...But now I just need to rant about this! I'm sorry! ; o ; If you're a Disney fan or something, please excuse anything past this point! I'm gonna be really ruthless right now, because I need to get it off my chest, and I know I'll be making a post-expo journal in a little while so I'll be able to get this offa our page after. :' D

Okay, firstly, if you don't know already, Alice in bloody Disneyland is my worst enemy.

I can't stand it, fanart of it, or any mention of it. And I know, 'If you don't like it, don't watch it!', but I grew up with the Alice books, and on deviantART, it is SO hard to avoid that god awful film!

I'd like to make it clear, it's not that I hate any changes anyone makes to the story, because I know it's neccessary in movies and such. Actually, when I was really little, we had this brilliant live action Alice in WOnderland, but my mum taped over it with Casualty or something. .__.
It's just what they did to it in that specific movie, it's just horrible! If I were Mr. Carroll, I would be so outraged at that movie. Y'know, it's surprising on a site of artists actually that people don't think about that.

And what's even worse...certain fanart...
To begin with, the pairing of ALICE and THE MAD HATTER. @__@
It's just WRONG! SHe's seven and a half, he's clearly very old, fictional or not, that's just weird. Even if you time-skip her to eighteen or something, it's still wrong!

Also, no-one ever considers that Alice was a real little girl, and I believe the Mad Hatter may also have been based on someone real. *can't be bothered to fish out the Annotated Alice*

Now, how would you feel if someone wrote a book about you, and then some very strange people started fantasizing about a pairing of you an some old man? I would be quite disturbed, frankly.

Another one I hate; Alice in a skimpy outfit. o__e I think it's obvious why that's pretty disagreeable to me.

I don't care if it's childish, you can call me an uptight Carroll fan, I like Alice and I like her how she is!

I am looking forward to Burton's Alice film though! Stephen Fry playing the Cheshire Cat? YESPLZ. And you know, Tim Burton really hates the Disney one too! Which is really a good sign that the movie will be pretty damn good.

Have you seen the 'Mikado' ads on T.V.? They rebranded Pocky in Europe! xD
I saw it in Tesco (which was quite surprising) and I thought it must've been a rip-off, but apparantly not.
Personally, I prefer the name Pocky, but if rebranding is going to make it more widely available, I think it's awesome!

My mum found those Lotte Panda thingies in Tesco too, are they just getting more Asian snacks? xD''

Oh yes, I'm really obsessed with Vocaloid right now.

Edit: Haha, just wanted to mention this, my gorgeous new lolita skirt came. ¦3 Can't wait to wear it out sometime! I got some cute pearls from ~mimf55 that'll go so nicely. : D

Amy: Okay, well, first, happy easter! I've been eating chocolate all morning, and pretty much the whole of yesterday, so I'm a very happy girly. I've also been watching Walking with Dinosaurs all day with =AlecBell~<3 (Ooh, and =lithium-reverie just got up. : D)

Anyway, I've been doing a lot of pixel stuff recently, and a lot of people have been asking for icons, which makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
It's odd, until recently I didn't really think of myself as a pixel artist, I mean, the only reason I really do so much pixel art is art blocks. When I have an art block, I pixel, because I find it very relaxing and simple, happily I don't get pixel art blocks. (Well, there's that, and also, I get lazy and don't want to bother scanning stuff, so I procrastinate and do some pixel work.)

I'm not complaining, I just think it's odd how things end up sometimes.
In fact, seeing as I've had quite a few requests, I was thinking about doing comissions for icons? >: I don't know if my icons are really worth paying for though, but I could charge $1 or something and save up a couple quid for small things. And it's always nice to have a little extra money.

But I really don't know if (or think that) anyone would actually pay for my icons. |D I dunno, do you think you'd buy an icon for about 75p? xD

(Oh, yes, just as a reminder to me; I must call Nicnic this week. XC I've been too nervous to call her and nudge her to go on the account because I'm worried about bothering her while she's busy with GCSE stuff.)

Amy: When you see someone your age or younger who's a million times better than you art-wise? ; ^ ; Convince yourself they're lying about their age? Cry? Block them out of your mind? All of the above?

I know it's really childish, but when I'm in that situation I get so upset. Like they've beaten me or something. And I know different people progress at different rates, and maybe I'm better at some areas of art than the person in question, or they may have started drawing before me, but it's really difficult to believe that stuff when you're staring at an amazing piece of art done by someone who's so much younger than you, it's depressing, y'know? >¦

Apologies for the whiney-ness. =__= I know I should be focusing on improving my own art rather than how much better other artists are, and actually one of my biggest pet peeves is when people whine about a situation they can obviously do something about, but I don't really care right now. D: No rudeness intended.

Amy: Why must decent female main characters be so rare in shoujo manga? > o <
In my opinion, most of them are really boring. I mean, it seems they always have to be the kind of character that's so helpful and cute, and selfless, and they have to have at least two male characters in love with them? It gets really tiresome. U___U

There are just so many! ; o ; It really deters me from a lot of shoujo series. I tried watching Ouran High School Host club, and I just couldn't help but be really annoyed by Haruhi. @___@ I mean, to me it was just like, 'omg she's so pretty and humble and always right and I love her blahlblahblah!' (Although I did manage to get to the thirteenth episode! It's an acheivment!) Also, my sister got the first volume of Vampire Knight for her birthday last year, I really did try to finish it, but I hated it so much I didn't even get half way through. xD I don't understand why series like that are so popular. :/

I should say though; I really don't hate all female shoujo characters. xD Characters like Yukino from Kare Kano I like. More interesting ones, with plenty of likeable flaws. : D

Ah, so, '09 is upon us indeed. ' o ' I spent the last hours of '08 watching Jools Holland. <3 It's like, tradition or something. Yaaaay.

Uuum, oh yeah! My sister and I got Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City for Christmas, so if you have it, mebbe we could exchange friend codes? =lithium-reverie really wants some visitors in our town. x__x I don't have my friend code handy right now, but our town's called Oom City. ;3

We also got the official Boosh calendar, the Mighty Book of Boosh, and the Mighty Boosh complete DVD boxset~<3 HAPPYYYY.

OH, OH, OH! I have lovely news, or, urr, a lovely event has occured. : D
I won a local art contest! ^-^ I haven't uploaded the picture here though since it's a bit shit. xD (I had to draw children if I wanted any chance of winning. ) In any case, I won a gorgeous Harrods X-mas hamper with lots of chocolate in it~<3 (Chocolate, my one true love...*stares off into the distance*)
I'm collecting my prize on Wednesday, hehe.

(Ohyea, just thought I'd add, I watched Twilight in the cinema, NOT AS BAD AS PEOPLE THINK. A lot better than Stardust or whatever it's called, and definitely better than Eragon. Probably better than the more recent H.P. movies. Although the romantic bits are pretty naff, it's really not bad. And I like the dynamic filming in the baseball scene.)

So, you may or may not know, (I assume you did, since the only people who'd read this are my close real-life friends.) my birthday was on Thursday. ^////^ I had a very nice day, thank you very much, I won't go into detail, but I will say Nicnic gave me a gorgeous little Pullip doll! ; 0 ; Thank you so much for that, Nicnicchi, you know I love her~<3 _{I have named her Elise. * ^ *} And *lithium-reverie gave me an *acrylicana print! Eeeh! I did get a bunch of other things, but I'm not planning on listing them. xD (Lots of Hello Kitty stuffs. ¦3) I gots some monehs though, so we be goin' out to Kingston to spend 'em today. : D
Oh, ohh, oh! And I just remembered, there's a track on the new Killers album that makes me think so much of Lum from Urusei Yatsura! * 0 * The fourth one, uhh, I forget the name. x__x
