Uuuufufufufufufufufufufufuuuuuu! FINALLY FINISHED DARK CARNIVAL! On normal. Only restarted once in the final stage. My thought processes before I died:

There's another [bleep] tank amagahd. All the roadies must turn into tanks fcol. Ohno! Nick's down! Ellis is down! C'mon Rochelle's! Let's help them! Hiyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-aaah yeah right, screw that, I want the achievement for this level. Good luck Ro, just gotta make it past this tank to the helicopt- ok I'm down. Ro!! Help me! Look I'm helping now! I'll keep shooting the tank with my magnum hlepmehelpme ohnoshe'sdown. *sigh*

Just glad I didn't have to restart in the one before that... whatever it's called. The barns. Finally checked it ><

Okay. I started writing thing about 3 hours ago, then I went to look for the names of the levels, because I thought it would be easier to google than to go in game and check. Found a whole heap of l4d n l4d2 movies and completely forgot what I was doing. Discovered who Leeroy Jenkins is and that if I ever get in a group with a guy named Criken, I should just shoot myself and get it over with. The vids he were making were where he was intentionally being annoying to make an interesting vid, but seems like he'd just do it to mess with you too.

I'm addicted to this game.

Edit:TOTALLY BOUGHT ITS A$$. KURU YOU GOTTA PLAY WITH MEH! D: WHEN IT GETS RELEASED. Those guys would be working their buts of right now to make sure everything goes smoothly. Go Valve!

So I finally got Steam on my puter and downloaded a few demos... HOLY CRAP. I didn't think Left 4 Dead 2 was that big a deal, but man is it awesome to play. The demo lets you play online with people too. Although I realised after the second time that towards the end, the people who know the demo finishes there start shooting you. =_=; While the nice ones keep on healing you. I shot the guys who was shooting everyone and the nice one went and helped him up again. But it was the end, so no biggie. You have to stay together, if not, you get majorly mobbed and can't move. If you get beaten real bad, you get knocked to the ground and can only shoot while someone helps you up - which is nice, cos you can stop their kidneys from being gouged out while they help you. Then you can give people pills and first aid if they need it. And you're not supposed to wake up the witches, but I didn't see them until I played a round just on my own.

You also can't linger too long out in the open, cos more will keep coming and you'll run out of ammo. Except for the pistols. And the machete.

To add to at least my playing experience there are army helicopters lying around real low, so the house shakes when they go over. Just need to time it with when the jet flies over at the beginning of the game and I'll be completely in the world. Didn't see a boomer until *voice gets drowned out by helicopters* sorry bout that. I didn't see a Boomer until the single player game either, cuz people kept blowing them up and all I saw was a liquid red flower. It comes out tomorrow apparently. I would so like to play it. @_@

In other news, I'm applying for the JET program. WHY CAN'T I FIND MY DEGREE! THIS IS EMBARRASSING!
FOUND IT! I'M NOT A TOTAL RETARD _{_{_ANYMORE}}*ducks helicopters again* Blaaady hell. They're so close!

WHOO! I'S GOT ME A NEW COMPUTER! It's so slick! It was blocking css for a while there, but it cleared that problem up on its own somehow. Imagine DA in perfect working order, but eveything set against a stark white background. It was a little bleak.

I can make A3 size art on my puter again and it doesn't even blink! I can have multiple programs running at the same time and it doesn't balk! Oh computer, how I love you... I don't care the digital tv thingy isn't working at the mo, althought that would be nice if it did.

Okay, so I got the sheriff in Megaton killed, cos I snitched to him about Mr. Burke and they had talkies which resulted in sheriff getting shot in the back. Even though I was hidden attempting to hack Moriarty's computer the whole time, he still knew where I was and told me to watch my back! I thought I was deid fur sure! (Sorry, mixture of accents coming through is cos of the Nac Mac Feegles of Terry Pratchett fame) So then I hacked the computer in a very expert way, using logical deduction and after a few failed attempts at that, just plain guessing and knew I had to go look for my father where the Good Fight fighter Three Dog broadcasts his radio signals of hope. I'm lucky there were some hard-core troopers there, or I would have been killed by the wee beasties known as the Super Mutants. Not to mention the gigantuan one that came along with a "LASER" and killed one of them _{while I was jumping...}

The end is nigh! I should have taken a pic, as it was quite spectaular, the red dust cloud enveloping our city. =frzdragon took a good pic on her journal. x3
Heard about it on tv before it got here X3 A cold front all the way from South Australia, bringing a lot of red-dust with it. So it's cold and smell like the air-con is on. ... We don't have an air-con, so it's interesting to note that air full of dust = air-con smell.

Ended up reading the 2nd book in the Southern Vampire Mysteries instead of drawing yesterday. Just started it to pass the time as I cleaned and defragged my grenades. And computer, started around 4-5... finished at around 10:30. Gawd some of it's funny. Pink tank-top, black lyrca pants? Vampires are written so blandly nowadays. Dangerous, lusty, pretties made of granite. Pffhahah.

HAH! Livestream is go! Only took me 3.5 hours to set up. Kept telling me I was hacking into my own account. Come check out my drawing, er eventually. I have to think of something to draw.

It doesn't seem to lag too bad if I have everything set up to begin with. Lets hope this works! I don't expect many people to be there, but still, should be fun. XD

WhereamI. Ohright. Printed out a lot of my pictures today, in the hopes of compiling a portfolio of sorts. I'm low on money and it's only the start of the fortnight. IT WILL BE WORTH IT! I discovered =elsevilla today and watched his youtube video on this here. Which lead to The Making-Of Moni's Geburtstagsbild which is where I got the style for my most recent piece. But I'm not here to simply plug art. I don't know how I got there, but I found a guy calling himself mychonny, doing an impression of G-Dragon. Oh now I know. There were links to pinkviech's tutes on doing make-up and his was how to look like G-Dragon. Not knowing G-Dragon, I thought at first glance it was a new Korean singer, like Rain and wanted to know more. The only vid I actually saw was in english, but that's beside the point. Check out mychonny I think I watched most of the videos. I was lolling. :3 I loved the pocky one. XDDDDD

Supanova was great! Now I have no money. But plenty of rice to last me another week and a half. A grand total of nothing for April so far. Well, I'm taking some progress shots of the Fruits Basket manga I'm working on, but everything else seems to be too hard. DX

Something that I've been attempting to save up for the past two months.... and have failed miserably. My savings plan did budget for movies and the like, but there were bills and OHGODITSSODEPRESSING but yeah. The good thing about today is I applied for my regulatory 10 jobs. Yep, I applied for them, alright.

I just doubt anyone would hire someone with as little enthusiasm for anything as me.

"What do you find appealing about this job?"
"Derr, the mula."
"I see. Are you familiar with the company policies?"
"Yes. 'Don't Do Bad Stuff or Steal.' That bout covers it, I'm sure."

I guess I should start printing out some illustrations and post them to *uc* knows where, to see if they could use me. Book pubilishing companies. I hate seeing cover-art that I know I could have done. MIND YOU THAT'S NOT SO FREQUENT. I MEAN LIKE ONCE, BUT THAT COULD HAVE BEEN ME. Maybe I should make my own "How to draw manga" book...

One digital colour sketch per night. No more than 2hours is to be spent on it and at the most it will be 800x600px @ 300dpi, just cos they're purely for viewing in digital format. Will suck if I want to print it out later.

I did charge myself with this a while back. Survived two nights then I think we got out Fable, so my energies were directed elsewhere. Figure if I state it here, then it's not just me who knows about it. *sweats*

Yeah, I've been watching 'THE WORLDS STRONGEST DISCIPLE KENICHI' So that's why there's a desu wa yo on the end of that.

Looking for jobs is tiring. The sensible thing to do would be to look for one each day. 14 days between forms, Monday to Friday x 2 equals 10 jobs searched for and you get the weekends off. Thing is when you search, you get a whole heap of viable ones at once, so think it'd be better to get it over and done with straight up and have a lotta days off. Doesn't work that way though. So many more interesting things to do, like making pieces for a 'concept art' worthy portfolio, organising storyboard examples for display and finishing that Project II tokyopop sub. Need to look up the other publishing companies too and see what their submitting policies are. Ideally should have been applying for relevant jobs all through uni... something nice to tell my offspring if they decide to opt for tertiary education. That and do your taxes every year.

I put nantonaku as my resume link, instead of creating my "professional" site in the mid-year break. There seems to be only so much I can do before I just shut down. Actually what I do is push myself too hard then wonder why the brain is be melltiinnggg.

Had fun last night n made sure I ate before I went to bed and drank heaps of water so I could MOVE without feeling sick in the morning. Aaah, nice and responsible.ãNext step: getting a job. Part-time for now BORDERS I'M LOOKING AT YOU.

I need to go back through all my uni stuff and figure out what is actually usable to present myself in ze workenforce. Then stick it on a website like ch2band.com ;D

Almost finished uni. No really. Almost finished it this time. *shoves 3/4 one under bed* Just a report, which isn't too bad, but I've spent a rather interrupted 10hours the past 2days on it. Is roughly finished now, but still got the portfolio to mess with. Not to mention they want us to throw a CV in there too. They told us a while back, but still, work on the final project stopped Wednesday, meaning we have a week to do stuff that could use two. Not like it's going to get any better coming out of uni, but damn! Where's an emo emote when you need it. <--lol, Mr Imso Sad has been removed. That's not so hot either. Or that "emo"-ish. Pfft. Whateva.

Working on a NEWS CM parody. Started by ãï½ä¸» (u-p-nushi) as far as I can tell, this takes this CM(Japanese abbr. for commercial) and does this to it. You can check out the others from there. L in the Death Note one is just too cool. Done the YamaPi and almost finished the second guy, but was interrupted by drunken housemates and their quest to fix the wireless which turned out to be a simple power off, power on solution, instead of fucking around with computerz.

Also working on story-boarding an idea I got listening to Within Temptations 'Somewhere' (should I check youtube for it? Might influence my idea...), using some currently defunct characters. Might post a few of the sketches up. They're quite tiny, as I did them at 72dpi for a PAL widescreen format. I think even my comp could have handled more in grayscale.

Will do that now, since nothing else is providing adequate distraction. If only I wasn't so diligent in Pet Society. I got a rubber tire to wear. How stylish is that? and an apple core as a hat. Pets take after their owners, no?

Yhahahah. Out of drawing slump. Unfortunately back to my old ways. Except this time there's piano involved. AMAZING! Two months later and I can play both Etudes 3 & 12 from memory, they're not up to speed yet though. Practice, practice! OooH! I also downloaded a Zelda trailer piano score which wasn't really meant for piano, so I'm modifying it bit by bit, taking out and adding in notes. The beginning and the end are the easiest to play at the mo, therefore I like them.

Hmm, I think this journal definitely needs MORE LINKS! ...but it's not working, so just look up Flute Link: Otakon 2008 if you haven't seen that already :3

It's been a while.

My brain has gone on creative haitus. Before I was drawing every day, trying to perfect my style and just generally get better. But two weeks into the holidays I just stopped. All my drawings on my wall are mocking me as I type, cos I look at them and I don't know how I did it. So much to do and I can't do anything.

So I'll just be going through the stuff I have and the ones I gave up on, seeing if I don't feel like colouring it in or not. So weird not having that drive. There's stuff that's comic-related that I wasn't planning to post, but I think I will, cos If feel like it's fucking wasted otherwise. Problem is I need to draw in some fragments, not to mention add intelligible text to the bits where I just wrote "official mumbo-jumbo".

I'm actually learning two Chopin pieces, one was in SIPCA, so must be hard to play/perform well. Realised the other day that I wasn't going to learn them by just reading them randomly whenever I felt like playing them. They're going to get memorised. Ages since I've practiced to memorise. Etudes Opus.10 No.3 and No.12. 12 is the Revolutionary and the other one I'm sure anyone'd recognise. The other two I'm attempting to work on, but just keep playing for fun is Clair de Lune and a Rach prelude. ...at least I do my scales seriously >.>;

Dear Ohm, could my computer be any slower.

Kk, so the 2941 kiriban has been passed... and no-one decided to catch it. But on the bright side, at least I didn't catch it! 8D

So. If you feel like it, request something for me to draw and I'll try and have it done by 3000pv o'clock.

Saw Picasso and his Collection the other day at the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane. Didn't click until I'd payed for the ticket and walked into the exhibit that it would be Picasso's COLLECTION. There were some of his works there all the way from Paris, but it was still like "Er... his collection... *sigh*"
Having said that though, it was a way to see what Picasso liked, as well as his inspirations. A lot of his work there looked like his experiments and sketches, as in stuff he didn't want put in a gallery on display. There was one work there which had a base-sketch for another more famous painting on the back. But that aspect was interesting too, it was like seeing his design process. -ish.
A group of his inked works got quite a response from a lot of people and I felt compelled to read the plaque accompanying them so as to fully understand the intent behind them. I still didn't understand, but one man after viewing the exhibit said: "Gee, he sure had a fascination with womans genitalia, didn't he?"

That wasn't the only thing on display, there were so many works there that were inspiring and some of the frames for the paintings were awesome themselves. In the ehd there were so many ideas of new approaches to drawing in my head that it decided to flatline and I couldn't take in anymore. Design-wise, I had to copy down a wood print Picasso did of an eagle and a chick. Done as a continuous line, I like the simplicity of it.

All in all, looking at most of the works, my thoughts were "I can see how they did it, but why did they do it?" and on many an occasion "How does that qualify as an ART?". So what makes an artist? What makes something considered art? I don't know, but I do know this: people out there drawing pron, you can say you're following in the footsteps of the Master Picasso.

Soooo, chocolate addiction firmly out of control and I've had a lovely bout of dibilitating flu for the past 2 days. Might have to go to the 7-11 in the morn to get some anti-nose-running drops to put up my nostrils.

Should really start studying before my mind clouds over again... but I have this habit of what I start at the beginning of the day is all I can do for the rest of it. So how did I start the day? You don't care? That's great!
Today, I confirmed my flu status by waking up with a headache, eye-balls full of gravel and exclusive access to the free-flowing springs of Esenohtee. After breaking fast, I found myself unable to remain vertical (not to be confused with the horizontally-challenged affliction) and collapsed back into bed where the dogs took full advantage of my doona. My reputation for lazyness may proceed me, but once I've made the decision to battle gravity I prefer to do something productive. Not enough time for everything as there is.

3 hours later, I wake up and make an early dinner, watch something cool called Skyland whilst eating. Paracetemoled and fueled up for study, I went downstairs whistling a song and promptly sat down at the piano and played it plus 4 other songs before the housemates came home. Looking up lecture slides, I became massively distracted by da and online comics. I did go to the lecture site, immediately deciding I'd be better off with the notes I made myself as they're the exact same thing but with extra notes taken throughout the semester.

Of course some are just sketches. One time I thought I'd draw the lecture room to record the lecture. If only looking at the pic reminded me of the content from that day.
Lecturer did say if ppl had been to each lecture, they'd be set for the exam... but that don't excuse no study.

See what happens tonight.

Just needed to clear the slate of my previous depressing journal... and replace it with another.

Psych! Oh I kill me.

So, big bad presentations and stuff finished, just the little matter of an academic report and a portfolio to stick it in. And then the exam nxt Saturday. Hmmm.

At least I know I can do these. I just really don't like reports. Who does, really. :/

Exams are better, cos you can cram your head full until your earsbleed, then it all comes down to those 2hrs. Fight or flight! I tend to fight, in the purely academical, put down on paper sense. And now I'm babbling. Like a brook, flowing naturally through the... no, wait, that's the sound of the pump pushing the water around. Ah, nature. Hark! An ibis, elegant of leg and beak. See how it - hey! STOLE MY SANDWICH THE MANGY FOWL!

Back to enjoying the rest of tonight 'fore I get into the REPORT WRITING and PORTFOLIO OF HEEEELL 2moro. If that happens.

Weell, there's this thing called the Seafood Festival going on near my abode and hot diggity if it ain't lively 'round here for a Sunday night. I wish I'd made the effort to find out when Butterfingers had been on, cos then I could have snuck up there. They did give out free tickets to residents, but I had to go out some wierd place to get them first. *sigh*

Can't wait till uni is over... it's annoying that I'm back to doing things I don't care about, have no interest in and don't want to do. And even more annoying when I get into ActionScript, start understanding it and enjoy myself, because of the mental exercise. I'd rather be spending my brain-muscle power on planning out plots and drawing up pages. *SIGH*

A year is a really short time tho, so fight it out till the end and hopefully I'll have a degree that I can do nothing with afterwards.

I don't like having no energy to do anything.

Good ~~morn~~ Afternoon!

Journal was looking a bit stale and I'm procrastinating, so time to update the journal. I've actually been busy I'd like to say I'm dedicating myself to my uni studies as they are what is going to get me EVERYWHERE in my future, but I'm trying not to lie nowadays.

I wanted to draw the characters that didn't appear in the Kiriban manga, to try and get their design down... and ended up starting the manga instead. Is it wierd that I can draw it in manga format, but when it comes to character profile shots, I end up ripping up half my sketch-book. wtf, man. There's a space-ship in this one. I have to design a space-ship interface. :S
Or just make all the shiny lights turned off in each scene.
Or make it Evangelion-style interactions... Well, maybe more Full-Metal Panic or Nadesico. So much for trying to be original... if I mash them all together can I call it original? No? Oh well.

I need to acquire some study food... *checks bank account* Huh. Coulda swear I had something in there before. Guess I'll be shoplifting again.

My brain's turned out frazzled and I've been trying to maintain a schedule today. Wanted to get my assignment for Physical Computing finished, so I could have the day off tomorrow. BUT! Either I'm really slow or I over-estimated the workload, so I'm just under half-way there. We have to write up the final thing on a blog site, which I find annoying, cos you then have to reformat it so it looks good on there. I need a sigh emoticon. Where is it. <--this'll do. Kinda nasty if I think about it too much tho.

Thought I'd update the journal, just because I haven't had a RAGING success with the DA launch of Manga-ka Tamago, although there have been 43 page views. The forums get filled up pretty quickly, so I don't know how long it was visible on the page at all, hey.

The next pic I'm working on started in the middle of last semester '06. I wanted to draw something, so I asked a friend for a random word. Her head exploded and I got three words: Banana, Unicorn and Umbrella. So now I'm working on a piece that involves this and this plus an umbrella which is still in an unfinished digital format. The unicorn will be so tiny tho. I feel like I'm not giving it enough credit (because I liked how it turned out. I can't draw horses, only unicorns apparently.)

I got up at 12pm. It's not even 12am and I'm tired. Need to eat more red meat or something. Does a hamburger count? Any excuse, really. And the ones around the corner are really niiiiice. *drool*

Well, hello there!

This journal is mainly for people looking at the Manga-ka Tamago magazine proposal (link to forum post here)and who want to know more about me.

I did attempt to write this a few times already. Seems I don't like writing about myself. Directly, at least. So I'll just go for random facts.

RANDOMNESS:
#1 I like anime and manga and Japan
#2 Neon Genesis Evangelion got me hooked. I realised then that anime may just be the ultimate story-telling device.

#3 Went on exchange to Japan in '04 (Fukushima Uni!)
#4 Can speak Japanese because of the awesome experience there.
#5 Am studying Multimedia Design. If anyone knows what kinda job that'll get me, please let me know.
#6 Just posted on the 29/02/2008 a submission to Tokyopop, to see what will happen. Apparently if you don't hear back within 3 months, they didn't like it. *checks watch*
#7 Last year of uni's just started. Let's see how I go juggling everything.
#8 Am 24 @ the mo'.
#9 Most people call me Bec.
#10 I really want Manga-ka Tamago to take off! Lets hope everyone else does too.

Got nothing new to say. Oh wait. Almost finished the damn submission to Tokyopop. Character Designs are turning out to be my biggest hurdle. It's hard to draw them just posing, as opposed to carrying a storyline. Maybe I should think of it like a photoshoot or something. The good side to it is that I will probs get their basic specs down so's I can draw them quicker. Not sure my style is what they're after though. Such is life.

1am? I lost an hour somewhere. Again. Got the house to myself at least. With two starving puppies. I know they had food when I left, so I'll leave it to the morn to give them more. Fill up their water bowl, I will.

Finally. Finished for the year, uni-wise. Why was I doing it again? I know if I was in a boring 9-5 job I'd just be dreaming of uni... it is a case of the grass is greener syndrome? Jinsei ni fuman da~! However, of late the uni has collected an assortment of manga. Titles include Akira, Emma, Nausicca and Towards the Terra. Not to mention Queenie Chans The Dreaming >:333 (aussie, so I feel the need to plug it). There's also books showing a collection of mangaka's work and one discussing the whole genre. Meant to read it all, but my attention span seems to be shrinking as of late.

Narrowed the list down to these:

Watched the Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi and all of Lucky Star! Still searching for the nest new awesome anime-shon.

Holy s*it that's heaps. I basically went for anything with a 1 in it, after all the shows I was watching finished end of Sept/ beg of Oct. Not sure if anything'll be able to beat my reaction to Mononoke for a long time tho.

There seems to be a lot of anime about making Doushinshi out at the mo... okay, two that I can remember. 'A tale of memories' has a manga writer in it, 'Genshiken 2' is about a uni club writing and publishing their own doujinshi and 'Doujinshi Work' is about making it your job. The same building has come up in the latter two, as well as Lucky Star...I just assumed it was made up. :d'oh: Guess where I'm going if I go to Japan? Where-ever that building is >:3

'Jyuushin Enbu - HERO TALES' is a bit predictable, feel like I've seen it all before... got the voice actor of KusuriUri-san innit, so felt compelled to watch the next episode, and the next. I picked up his voice in 'KimiKisu - Pure Rouge' as well.

'Sketchbook' is a bit too, too slow for my liking... but maybe I was just impatient cause I had so much stuff due when I was watching it, that I just wanted it to be over faster. Even tho it wouldn't be. ^w^ Probs won't watch that too much longer, alng with 'Blue Drop' and 'Majin Tantei'. 'Majin' has some interesting characters, but it's a show that solves each mystery within and episode. Neuro's character is quite interesting tho >:3

'Bamboo Blade', 'Clannad', 'ef - a tale of memories', 'Minami-ke', 'Genshiken 2' and 'Ghost Hound' all look promising >:3 In short, 'B.B.' is based around Kendou, with a main character that looks a lot like Yuki from Fruits Basket, 'cept she's a girl. 'Minami-ke' is an interesting take into the life of three normal everyday sisters living alone in an apartment. 'Genshiken' cos everything I can learn about all aspects of manga interests me. 'Ghost Hound'... well, I'm not entirely sure what's going on yet, but the eerie ghostly visage effects and the use of sound is quite impressive. If I watched it late at night in a dark room, I'd get a litte freaked. hehe.

But for now... have been charged to watch a dvd with actual people acting on the screen. Arrested Development, as I am apparently the only person alive who hasn't seen it --;

Can't wait for uni to be over and I can seriously get into drawing again.

I will place cushions aaaaall over the floor, so I don't hurt myself as I pass out from the awesomeness. What if I hit the table...? I'll just have to hope I don't knock out a tooth this time.

Since Sam didn't raise any complaints to a lovely deviants request at him in a tutu, I guess I'll be drawing that next.

Excuse my fan-girliness. Lucky I still need to watch it a few more times, there were a few words in there I didn't understand. Not to mention multiple conversations at the same time. If I was just watching this on tv, it'd be too much to take in at one go. A word that I discovered today tho was shuzai (the collecting of information, like a reporter does) and it cropped up in Mononoke too :3 This further endorses watching anime as a means to study the Japanese language. I need to sleep now. Fat chance. I'm on an anime hiiiigh. What's that stuff that calms you down... viagra? Yeah, I'll take some of that.

I love the little emoticon for eager. I'm sure that's what I look like when my brain over-exciterates.

So it's been approximately 2 weeks since I've watched either Mononoke or Bakeneko. How's that for will-power? In unrelated news, chocolate and peanut butter toast consumption has gone up 150%.

Uni has also kept me very busy. Who would have thought making a game would be a hassle? Seems to defy the definition of 'game'. We should have designed an "I spy" game in the Neverwinter Nights engine. Have an accompanying ranger that says "I spy, with my blind eye, something beginning with " and you have to run around everywhere till you find it. Sound like fun...?

Oh yeah. Main point for making a new journal:
Over 1000's pageviews! They' can't have all been me So I'm after the first person to comment and help me by requesting something for me to draw. I'm a big fan of randomness, so feel free to hit me with anything.

In the meantime, I have a random drawing for a friend to finish, which must include a unicorn, umbrella and banana. .

Secondly in the meantime, I want to get the thumbnail layouts for chapter II done of my top-secret manga project... or finish off the submission first. I have yet to evaluate which would take longer.
Shoulder Angel: Do finish the submission first! That means that by the beginning of next year, you will know whether it has a chance!
Shoulder Devil: What do you need to submit it for... not like you're doing it for money. If it's money you want, rob the damn bank. That'll be more fun. Then when you're in jail, you can draw all you want! AND you'll be more popular. Just like Fiddy-cent.
Shoulder Procrastinator: It doesn't really matter, do it tomorrow.

Thought I better update. My hands back to normal-ish now. Still regret it I do too much with it by the end of the day, but it's more than I could do before. I can also wave it around wildly without feeling I'm damaging it. My fourth finger was going numb periodically, but that's stopped too! Now if that strange splint pain in my pinky would give up, I'd be on toppa za wooooooorld!

I'm gonna hit 1000 soon. Do I get to do a kiri-ban? Why is it called a kiri-ban? Is it the anime-drawing community that started it? I'll just pretend I know why. "Ooooh, KIRI-ban. I know them. They're awesome! "

I'm currently on a self-imposed Mononoke/Bakeneko ban (the english meaning). I want to watch it, but when I do my brain goes *fzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzt* I'm not sick of it, but can't bear to watch it. Too much analysing and watching, mebbe.

NOW HEAR THIS: This ban will last for approximately 3 weeks while I acquire the last remaining episodes. The last 3 are based on Bakeneko again, but it looks like they've put it into a more modern setting.... which sounds interesting. BUT! No more thinking into it. Ban ban ban. Baaaaaaan. I'll do my washing instead. Far more exciting.

So, what's new? M? Whilst playing the piano a large pile of books fell and squished my hand between them. If I do nothing with it, it's no biggy, but it hurts to write, draw, type and I can't even think of playing the piano. As soon as I stretch the fingers, it's like, INSTANT CRAMPAGE. (>O< - *u*k! (T^T)

It's been about 2 weeks now... I'm gonna have to start training my left hand if this keeps up.

Oh dear... watched The Night of the Living Dead II. I agree it's funny, but maybe there should be a "Ugh, GROSS" sub-section of the comedy one. I was caught between laughing and puking.

Been doing some studies in drawing. Unfortunately not for uni. As far as I'm concerned, it's over. Just need to write up my own understanings of HCI-hell, write up all those funny Kanji and study 'em, so I can accurately guess at them. Graphic Design... I need to email my dude, I suppose. There's a few articles on the net. Some in French, which I don't speak YET! Muahahaha! I hope they invent eternal life soon, otherwise I'm not going to have enough time to do anything. *huff* Or clones!

Nah, I'd be pissed that the other clone gets to draw, play piano or sleep while I, the original clone (who says I'm not?) has to do the assignments.

OhMyGosh. Pixel Freaks finalists are announced tonight. So badly want to be up there. 11:30pm, abc tv. I've been counting down for a week.

I haven't recieved any sort of confirmation if they even recieved my package or not. 7 hours to go. What to do... go to a party or stay at home and mopppppppe. Have to do more on my submission, still not finished. I'll distract myself with that. That and the pic that I drew for my housemate. Yeah! I'll check that now. It looked alright at midnight, wonder if my opinion has changed since then. D:

Back at uni... using two macs to make the dvd's for the animation for me AND listening to the "Absolution" cd by Muse, on the dell. Sugoku daisuki da yo~n.
Last bus-train-bus connection is at 5:30-ish. It's 3:30pm now, and I think they'll take an hour to do. I've already missed the opportunity to post it by today. My fault for being unable to be a master of my own time. Maybe the city PO will be open tomorrow... ah family coming. Guh! I planned to have it all done alreadyyyyy. After coming in Thursday to burn them, I realised I wanted to change a few things, to give it the extra edge... I'm hoping it will be worth it. Otherwise... just realised I didn't put my devArt add on there o(T_T)o OH WEEEELLLLL. If I don't at least get picked as a finalist, then I would have wasted about 2 months doing this, when I could have finished my comic submission.

Then again, I've learnt a lot of things that will help me with my future uni projects and beyond through doing this.

Then again, I BLOODY WELL WANT TO WIIIIIIIN.

Almost finished 1st chapter after 2 weeks of not being able to draw anything. ~PHEW! Was working on Pixel Freaks all that time, tho, so I win either way. Onto last page of Chapter 01, just stewing over the inks a little before scanning and toning and bubbling. Or frothing at the mouth. Which ever comes first. However, I do have coffee and chocolate so no need to Panic! at the moment.

Have also made a start on the Tokyopop submission paper-work... but am currently ignoring the fact I might have to resize 20 or so pages, because I used a different template to the one TP wants. At least the web-size ones are easier. *sob*

Just writing to have a bitch about not doing any more on my comic for 2 days now. I did work on the Pixel Freaks competition yesterday though... got some graphics coloured. And no, I'm not going to provide a link to the comp, because I want to win all the prizes Okay hereitis:
cos I feel bad about being bad I would like a laptop that doesn't freak out when I'm working at 1200dpi, cos I want high-quality stuff, fcol.

Errm. Found a yellow book today, one I've been looking for all year that has just reappeared, because the schoolies are about to be sentenced to another year. Don't worry kids, "YOUR SCHOOL YEARS ARE THE BEST YEARS OF YOUR LIFE", read: "You're fucked if you think it's gonna get aaaany better." Note sarcasm here. I believed that while I was in school and have been proven awesomely wrong since. I think my parent was referring to the fact you don't have to worry about money, not in terms of happiness. C'est la vie?

What was I rambling about again? Oh whatever. 3 pages left, then more stuff for the actual submission. I need 6 consecutive pages of awesomeness as well as character profiles and a page to sell the story, including a catchy catch-paragraph or something. Oh yeah! I was going to print off the pages I've already done, cos I want bubbles and toned pages in my folder, instead of the line-art... which doesn't have the speech included. Frustrating when you're trying to stay away from teh computer and web-comics and deviant art.

YeS! The thumbs didn't work , so I'm re-posting.

My heart-felt thank-you's to all these people who's deviations helped me with horse-drawing!
I'm still having trouble getting dimensions right (ie getting it to look like a horse and not a dragon/dog/kangaroo) but I've finished a page rather quickly because of having some cool references. And here they are!

Or would be, if forementioned thumbs would work. I'll whack the artists icons in instead and people can check out my favourites if they want to see the horsey pics I picked. In no particular order:

I think I fell in love with horses along the way, too. I already liked them, cos they're such magnificent beasts, but when trying to draw them I came to appreciate....er stuff.
How to explain, when I draw something to my satisfaction, I'm drawing from an experiential point of view. That is, I'm trying to draw an expression of a moment, capture the essence of the feeling I'm trying to draw. If I don't manage that, all it seems like is a bunch of graphite lines on paper. Just my opinion on my own work. Has to mean something, or why do I even bother?

Hello to the people who may check out my devArt cos I've favourited their horse deviation(s)!

I've been researching horses, cos I've gone to draw them in my comic and realised I don't have enough mental resources of horses to draw one from my head! This is an insult to my brain-cells, cos I have seen them before... but I don't have the time to guess-out each horse I draw.

Therefore, I chose shots which give me an idea of the muscle structure and some because they were enigmatic
Aaand some, cos they were tut's on drawing horses. I've found a horse skelton on Google, so that should come in handy.

I've also discovered the Arabian horse, which has such a wild impish look to it... there's probably heaps of different horses out there, but at the mo, all I know is, uh, the one's you see in racing, Clydesdales and Arabian now. Maybe soon I'll have a horse drawing to chuck in me gallery! yeyeyey!

On holidays now. HOLIDAYS. Which means it's a nice time to get a job. SO! I can either live of my Youth Allowance or get a job.
On one hand, I'll have money. On the other hand, I'd get my manga-rashii comic off the floor. I'm really unco, so I can't be doing both at once. *sigh* OH WOE IS MOI. Like I have any right to complain.

Weeell, studio and animation are out of the way (of sorts) Now just a reflective essay and authoring assignment...

Had a sleep-in till 8 this morning... was supposed to take the dogs for walks... but it's raining! DON'T TELL VIC. Will have to get back in time from Chinatown today to... ah. We have to walk to the station in the rain... there's gotta be umbrella's around here somewhere's!

The dogs were soaked anyway... it wouldn't have mattered. I just really like sleep

H'ray! I think I'll by some aburage and furikake... not sure if they're the right words, but I know what I'm talking about! Don't know what the markets'll be like if it's raining there too... might have to go straight to the city!

Y am I still sitting here writing this journal entry... SOMEbody is still asleep and yeah. I like sleep and to let other sleep. Putting people to sleep is something I might have trouble with tho.

Eh, I just wanted to get another journal in. I can't have been reading the same manga for a month, I'm not that slow and it's not that long. On the other hand, I've been introduced to Fruits Basket by Toxorp so now I'm readi- I'm mean, going to BUY the comics and read them. Uh-huh. Ouran Koukou Host Bu finished a while back, I finished watching Fruits Basket on You Tube... could this be directly proportional to the amount of uni work I haven't got done?

Well, now. All I wanna do is draw and ignore the peril of ignoring my assignments.

Did you know avoiding doing things takes up more energy than doing them? You have to forcibly block all those pending things from your mind. Therefore it is now time for a recap of current TTD.

Audio: Medieval Church sound research. I think in terms of intensity it would be low in danger (so v. safe) and high in peace of mind (as opposed to chaotic). I'm sure all this plotting of sound will come in handy if I ever have to make anything more than a minute long... *grits teeth* but for now it is merely frustrating. I think I know all of this already and just want to get onto making the sound. I just wish my internets would stop falling apart, so I can do research when I want to.

Authoring: Oh, hell. Went in on the weekend, full of ideas and half-written javascript, but unlike director, the actionScript doesn't work as I think it should so I ended up getting frustrated and wasting my 70 of my 150MB's on Ouran Koukou Host Bu, cos of foresaid lack of internets. What am I saying waste? Worth every byte! I heart thee, you tube. I consequently discovered some dvd specials of all the seiyuu's and cursed my internets. Again. The dude who does Tamaki reminds me of my mate Hideki from Japan... hope he's doing well with his teaching. :3

Studio: Ngahganghagna. Need to INK my drawings, SCAN them in AGAIN, then colour them accordingly in PHOTOSHOP, CUT them to the portions I need, MANIPULATE the pics so they work well for animation, IMPORT them to FLASH 8, remembering to save them in FLASH FRIGGIN MX format or I can't WORK on them at home. AND I STILL HAVEN'T PLAYED AROUND WITH AE AND MY TRIAL LICENSE RAN OUT YESTERDAY. Lucky I live close to uni. Not lucky that there's a stalker of one of my mates living on my street. *snarls*

Advanced Computer Animation: oh how I wish I could lock myself away from the world and only work on this. Well, not just this. It's kinda boring. Quite frustrating when you realise how much work goes into 1 minute. I'm going to sell it to the ABC... who wants to be that they'd ven look at it? Need to record a real sneeze, maybe shorten the "AH" of the "CHOO". Got myself really worried though. Sometimes it's hard to remember that there really is no way to do anything. The lecturer was talking about not using text, but that was only about the story-board, not for sound-effects, which is how I was planning to use it.

Is it wierd I can only rant coherently if I'm writing it? Cursed brain, I'll fight you to the end!

I wanna concentrate on my getting a comic out there and I start doing a course that turns out to not be primarily 3d animation... therefore I can make a moving comic or "cartoon" and this is the reason I chose this course. Somewhat happy. Hopefully, I don't need to put too much effort into other projects. Or maybe I should just work on time management and everything else will fall into place. Mood: Somewhat desperate

Full of emotions, I struggle to get done what I hoped to have finished by the end of these 4 week holidays. Turns out drawing takes up a lot of time... as does planning the drawing and deciding if the composition is right or not. Damn my "perfectionism".

NOT GOING TO FREAKIN HAPPEN, but oh well. Been having a blast of a holiday and done a lot of character developming. ^.^

Therefore, I have decided to put up a lot of stuff that I drew ages ago and didn't want to show anyone cos they're not finished... but they're not going to have anything else done to them, so in essence they are complete.

...back to scanning I go.

Recently been inspired by recently discovered online comics, which make me think that ppl might just read mine too... now to try and get them out there. I actually have heaps of drawings... now that I've git a break with uni I can do a bit more.

That and get a job... T,T

I'm really bad at focusing on more than one thing at a time. I know if I start working, my ability to draw will suffer for 3 weeks or so, that's only 3/4 of the holidays. (o.O)

Oh well. Wish me luck.
