I've come to the conclusion that I have a love-hate relationship with summer. I love the warmer weather, I love having days off work when it rains all day. I hate the stinking hot muggy days, and I hate when it rains so much that we have to work in the rain to catch up on our work, even if it means we're mowing grass that's under an inch or two of water, getting bogged at least twice a day and sliding down steep banks without any control what-so-ever. Like what we're doing now Mind you it is fun doing donuts in the mud and sliding around corners. Not that I ever do such a thing

I went for a spin in the car today with my honey since we had to go visit someone who lives a fair way out. It was really nice and peaceful out there but I was happy to sit in the car and shoot at the traffic we passed (with my camera - drive by shooting ). I liked the shots I ended up with but still prefer my flower work Not much else has happened though, still working, still staying up way past my bedtime, still being a pain in the butt

I just wanted to update this to see what my new journal looked like. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it

Ok, I'm seriously back this time - I swear! To prove it I've even uploaded a new piccy. DA this is Bob, Bob meet DA. Bob will soon be a father to more than a hundred baby fishies! I have a big obsession with our fish at the moment so you'll probably get to see more of them. Last count we had a couple over 70 fish! It's probably a good thing our cat hasn't realised that they are food.

Christmas will be so busy this year I think, we haven't even thought about what we are doing or buying presents yet. We haven't had the time to put our tree up yet! But it's my 21st birthday on the 19th and we've been busy planning and organising for that instead.

So how has everyone been? I need a month just to catch up with everyone I think

Hey look, I haven't quite completely disappeared off the face of the earth just yet. I've been so busy with stuff that this has been pushed back to the end of my "Stuff I need to do but keep putting off" list. I have some really nice shots I've taken lately but uploading when you have dial up is just like watching paint dry. But I have a new camera! I'm so stoked. A FujiFilm FinePix S9600 to be exact. I think it's the first brand new camera I've actually owned.

So yeah, bottom line is if you've been watching me and wondered what the hell happened with me I'm here sorta - a couple of more weeks and I'll be right as rain with alot of photos to make up for.

Welcome to my first (of many ) journal features!

I know I don't have that many page views or whatever, but every little bit of exposure helps Please take the time out to have a look through the artists galleries and what-not, they are really a talented bunch

So many wonderful artists posted in my thread, if I haven't included you I apologise in advance

Well lets see if I got the hang of this 'make your own css thingy'

Well first of all I want to thank for the sub and also for twisting his arm It really made my day when I logged on this morning and had that waiting for me Now I can have some fun playing around with all this new stuff

I'm still going ahead with my "Diseases, Pests, and Beneficial Organisms" that appear with the arrival of spring. I have added to the list going of what I want to include but if anyone has one that they would like to see up (or if you have no idea what is growing on your fave plant ) send me a pic and I'll feature it too Or at least tell you what it is and how to fix it So feel free to note me with all your plant problems, I need some more ideas

This project is going to take a while, and will hopefully fill the month and a half I have until I get our ADSL connection back. Stupid phone providers stuffed us round and it's going to take at least 42 days untill we have high speed internet. So until then it's dial up the whole way Can you tell I love it?

Thats how I feel :\ What do they call writers block for artists? Lol. I just can't seem to get the shots I want or nothing has been good enough and I've gone through and deleted it all *headdesk* Oh well, at least spring is around the corner so more of my favourite flowers will come into bloom Tell you what though, there are lots of really really good artists here - it really blows my mind sometimes.

So I've had a look around for places that do courses in photography in my area. So far I'm enrolled in one that starts in October, saving for another that starts in November and dreaming of doing a two year full time Diploma that includes a Cert 4 in Small Business. I've only been doing photography for about two months but I've so enveloped in it. I'm trying to see a career that incorporates my style of photography but I just can't picture it. Everything I've googled is either model shoots or some other stuff thats not me - maybe I'm looking into the wrong areas. Anywho, I've had all my friends tell me to start off at our local markets so I'll dig through for a few of my better pics that have a higher res and put them onto canvas. Does anyone else have some other tips? I feel like I'm expecting too much for someone with my 'experience'

I got a new laptop today D We've been looking around for so long but we could never find one that I liked. So we now have it and it's being set up with all my programs and stuff I need. Going through some of my pictures on my computer and I realised that now I have to edit all my wallpapers I made because the resolution is different. going from 1024x768 to 1280x800 is a big change

Some times I feel like a blonde I am one but that's beside the point. Like finding features in PhotoShop that have been there all along but that I didn't know about. Maybe I should read some books on it or something... I don't think I could be bothered though

I got my macro lenses in a while ago and I'm loving them! Not too happy with the 10x one but it's alright. I just have to learn how to use it properly. It's hard when you have a lamp in each hand though ^^

So I finally got my butt into gear and sorted all my photography out. So far I'm happy with what I have since I started seriously doing photography about, ummm..... 2 weeks ago I would love to be able to do those really close up shots of insects and stuff (like what you find in National Geographic). Besides I found out I suck at taking landscape shots so this way I can tie it all in with work and sneak in a bit of practice when the boss isn't looking .

If anyone has any tips or hints or stuff that would help me feel free to let me know.
