News

Well it had originally been my plan this weekend to go to an SCA (society of creative anachronism, sort of a medieval reinactment persona group) event this weekend, one of I think 3 camping ones in the area each summer, but my ride canceled last minute. So since I had already asked off of work, I have a whole weekend here, with all you wonderful dev folk XD . I'm hoping to get a good deal of work done on pics, and maybe get in a few doodles not on my to do list. In other news, I'm kind of in the process of hunting for a new second team to be on. Team Voodoo, although still planning to stay in it, has kind of become inactive since has for the most part disappeared. It has pimpslap and I a little concerned since she hasn't even been on messenger at all. Anyway, the lack of activity has me a little sad, so I'm seeking a new team to form with Naur or my two other characters (winfield and wakiya) who I need to give a bit more love to anyway hehe. In other news the new venture bros episode is crazy funny XD.

Kind of at a silly impass, I can't decide which was the better movie this year; WALL-E or the Dark Knight. I seriously adore both, and really their polar opposites in type of movie, but I just have this desire to claim one of the other as the overall 'favorite' of this year. Speaking of WALL-E, there seriously needs to be more arts of him, I can't find anything good around here right now. In other news, looking for assistance sprucing up and constantly improving the CSS in my journal, so any to be offered is welcome.

Feels awkward posting a new journal after a long delay and having it be about something sad, but none the less I feel the need to vent out a little emotion. My Grandmother (on my father's side) passed away about an hour before I was able to get off work and get to the hospital to say goodbye. To be honest, I never really got along with her, she always crossed me as stubborn, arrogant, and in some ways a bit racist. But regardless she was family and being the sentimental sort I am right now I mostly feel a deep regret things couldn't have been better between her and I. I suppose I also feel grateful in some ways since despite the icy relationship, she still did help me and the rest of my family in many things when we needed it. If anything else, there's also a good deal of empathy on my part for my grandfather, who I have a strong admiration of.

But seriously, it's been crazy, long work days (although it's finally starting to calm down), flu bugs during my birthday on the first, mass flooding, Lake Delton breaking its banks and washing away 4 houses, my parent's business on a flood plain of another damn threatening to break. Good times good times....anyway I'm back hehe.

That's right....an earthquake.......in Wisconsin. Incidentally, I slept through it. Only found out about it in the morning news when I woke up. Apparently it was a five to six point something quake on the richter scale originating in southern Illinois that was strong enough to shake things up by me. Ah well, makes for interesting news. In other interesting news, all you Johny Depp fans may be interested to hear he's going to be in my town in the next few weeks. Yeah, he's shooting scenes for his next big movie, "Public Enemies", about the ganster John Dillinger. I honestly will be more interested in his co-star Christian Bale heh.

Yes I know, I've been missing for about a month now. The reason; lack of internet. I had a very tight february and was unable to afford it anymore so sadly I'm without internet until I can get caught up on my other bills. Right now I'm posting this from the library. Unfortunately I cannot post pics from here since I can't bring my own disks with my own files, lest any of them contain files the library would prefer not having on their computers. I do plan to try to post some stuff if I can get onto a friend or relation's computer sometime soon. I have been getting a good deal of stuff done (mostly lineart). will also be keeping some stuff updates when I'm unable to. Until then things are going to be sadly quiet here .

If you were suddenly ruler of the planet, the first five things you'd do are:

1- Allot a huge chunk of the planetary budget to constructing a working replica of Gurren-lagann
2- Have waffles declared as the official food of planet ninja monkey.....which is what I will rename the planet as since earth is boring, also will have June be renamed maple syrup month and have a huge planet wide syrup festival.
3- make the overused copycat 'balto' style of animation illegal for all save dreamworks who probably won't use it anymore since they're in love with CGI now.
4- Use what's left of the planetary budget to discover the secret of immortality then hog it for just dom and I, then be declared god and goddess of smexy
5- Force George Lucas to remake the Star Wars prequals so they actually are good with the threat of being tazered then beaten with a 2 month old halibut if it is not of sufficient quality (and having Hayden Christensen and the guy who thought up jar jar binks whacked sopranos style)

At the top of our news this evening, power outages at Naur's apartment. Apparently there had been a mix up with whether the bill payment had been received and power was cut to said apartment. In light of the lack of light, Naur had this to say....

"!@#!!!! !$!@$!@# !$@ !$!@!@!!!!!!"

Translators are still working on deciphering the quote in a safe for tv manner. The situation was further frustrated when landlord, whilst leaving for out of town, neglected to leave a key to enter the room holding the meters, thus delaying the return of power to the apartment by a full day. Finally a key was obtained but not before another round of frustration and cursing. And now for weather, we go to Ali Williams, Ali......
