Hallo. I dropped off the face of the dA planet for a while, no reason really. I just logged in to about 2,000 watched deviations and 128 messages, and for the most part did a clean sweep of it. If there was anything in there that you specifically want me to look at, please leave me a comment and I'll go poke around.

I haven't been all that inspired lately with my camera, and the photos I've taken have really been more functional for the photo album and memories and stuff and not really art, so I've felt I haven't had anything to post. I'm hoping that the arrival of spring will bring back that spark I seem to have lost temporarily.

Anyway, I intend to try sticking around for a bit, but ya never know. I hope that the muse of visual beauty has been haunting all of you in extra measure.

We've also had a meeting (and a couple of follow up calls) with the adoption agency, and things are booking along well there.

Because of that, I currently have 530 deviations to look at. Sunday morning was Kaylee's dedication at church, and then we went to a local park where we all had a picnic with my sister-in-law's family, good food, games, the beach, and lots of photo taking. Sunday night was just my immediate family again (and spice) and we ordered pizza at the hotel, attempted to swim in the freezing hotel pool, and talked until we fell asleep. This morning we got up at 0-600-freaking-early and drove home... stopping in Charlotte to get some stuff and switch cars. We left my folks there.

So, I have a lot of new pix. I'll be putting them up a couple at a time as I figure out what's share-worthy.

Stay tuned!

My folks are returning from visiting my brother and meeting their granddaughter; I can't wait to see pix from their trip.

We're just hanging out around here; getting more boring pix of the yard and critters and flowers and things. We started a garden and so far I'm growing insect meals. If I don't get my act together, we'll be having to de-worm the lovely big tomatoes before we eat them.

What else? Um. ~Spielorjh got tickets good Tuesday night for Indiana Jones, and then his department planned a release and he's on call that night. So we're not going. Wednesday I have an appointment with a pulminologist to see why I keep getting bronchitis. Thursday is our 9th anniversary. Saturday is our church's Family Beach Day. Sunday is my best friend's birthday. Two weeks later I'll be the story lady for VBS at our church, preschool level. The we'll be visiting NY over July 4 week/end. After that it's calm for a few weeks until we go to Ohio for Kaylee's dedication.

Hopefully by then I'll have a job!

Well, it's turned out to be an interesting month! I recovered from my trip, buckled down trying to finish my resume, apply for jobs, and get my teacher's portfolio up to snuff, and then we had friends from out of town come visit yesterday. We spent all day out and about; we wandered around Charleston downtown, and spent some time at the beach, and time at home chatting.

I hadn't seen her in decades... we went to elementary school together, and only had seen each other maybe twice since then, one of which was at her wedding, so we didn't really have time to talk. It was wonderful to see her. It was even better to get to know her husband, and have both of them get to know -my- husband, and to discover that we all have loads in common and the same sense of humor, and that we'd all be great friends and hang out all the time if we lived in the same place. Very very cool.

I've posted just a few pictures from the day. There are more of them on my account on flickr, mostly because I don't have the option here of uploading en mass and it was taking waaaay too long. So feel free to jump on over there as well and take a look.

Coming up: a family reunion on the beach. My cousin lives here in town, and her immediate family (which now totals 13 people) are renting a beach house for the week. My folks are coming down on Thursday night next week for the weekend, and we'll all be chillin' out on the Isle of Palms. Hopefully there'll be some good pix.

She's progressing very slowly, has not yet reached a point where the doctor will allow her to chose a C-section, but has passed the point where the doctor will give her the epidural, which she opted out of originally. If she's still laboring by 4am EST, they'll opt for the C-section, but until then, she's in a lot of pain and completely exhausted, having arrived at the hospital yesterday evening.

If you are of the praying type, please do. Pray for R. to have strength for the labor, my bro to have the strength to watch and be there for her, and for God to get that baby out into the world as soon as possible.
